901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin cash mooning right now! on: December 14, 2017, 10:57:37 PM
Don't believe me? Check bittrex, or whatever exchange you use. Coinmarketcap is too slow to show accuracy.

I think the only reason bitcoin cash is gaining is simply because of newcomers that just got to know about bitcoin and are faced with a strong performing bitcoin that is proving to be a bank breaker such that BCH is the only alternative as it carries the bitcoin name and they believe it will go to the moon in the same fashion bitcoin is doing.

902  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-13] Paying Salaries in Bitcoin is Becoming Trendy on: December 14, 2017, 05:25:27 PM
Besides getting paid for the work done I think this would also encourage its users to save which in the long run would reward them with some extra cash and bitlancers idea of paying freelancers in bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies should definitely encourage people to become more resourceful unlike lazing around wasting talents that can be monetized.
903  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-12]EBay is talking about adding Bitcoin payments on: December 14, 2017, 06:42:02 AM
This has been long overdue, what have they been waiting for after so many requests from the crypto community?

With more of these boardroom meetings, this could take some time before it this technology is adopted.

They're too late. The jokes on them. Bitcoin is no longer a payment system. You can't buy stuff with it anymore because now it's a "store of value". Wink

I agree its definitely too late and this is the price you pay if you don't listen to your customers, and at the moment bitcoin payments are been enjoyed by its own customers who sell gifted cards at markup in exchange for bitcoin.
904  Economy / Economics / Re: Maybe governments can stop bitcoin after all on: December 13, 2017, 10:00:33 PM
This is a serious discussion. I mean, after I've seen how bitcoin (and other cryptos as well) got dumped badly after an irrelevant law that makes ICOs illegal. I can only imagine now what would happen If more countries do the same thing and It could get worst by make itself bitcoin illegal.
They say there is strength in numbers and if this is the route most countries choose then they are half way their but bitcoin is a new technology that is opening the world to new opportunities and its, for this reason, it should be adopted and not banned

Whether we like to admit it or not, most of people would sell everything they have once its made illegal, some may continue to fight the central banking but the sad reality is that as soon as people start making profits, they will dump it and move on.
In as much as this sounds scary, its the honest truth and banning bitcoin would prevent other blockchain startups from taking off as they would avoid going the same path as bitcoin.
905  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-12-13]Tax Investigators Raid Bitcoin Exchanges Across India on: December 13, 2017, 01:39:22 PM
Investigators from the income tax department of India have conducted onsite searches at the offices of the country’s top nine bitcoin exchanges early on Wednesday morning.
Government officials told the Indian news agency PTI that multiple teams of detectives from the tax department, under the command of the Bengaluru investigation wing, surveyed the trading venues in Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Gurugram.
This action was taken under section 133A of the Indian Income Tax Act for “gathering evidence for establishing the identity of investors and traders, transaction undertaken by them, identity of counter-parties, related bank accounts used, among others,” according to the quoted officials.

The teams of detectives are said to be armed with various financial data and inputs about the workings of the exchanges. Reports called this the first big action against the exchanges operating in the country, suggesting that more is to come.

906  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-12] South Korea Will Regulate Cryptocurrency Exchanges, Not Ban – Rep.. on: December 12, 2017, 09:01:57 PM
Looks like Christmas came early for crypto users, just this month we have witnessed a huge ATH for bitcoin thanks to such developments and more countries need to find ways to regulate these cryptocurrencies through the exchanges, unlike baning which might hinder good projects from taking of as not all are meant to be a form of payment.
907  Economy / Services / Re: [SIG] DIMPAY ICO Signature Campaign [FULL] [RULES CHANGED] on: December 12, 2017, 01:15:23 PM
Thanks for payment FrankNoland and DIMPAY but can you confirm if this is the last week of campaign or campaign will run a little bit longer than the planned 2 weeks?
908  Economy / Economics / Re: What makes Bitcoin to move this fast? on: December 11, 2017, 10:41:30 AM
Bitcoin price is growing remarkably fast because of continued interest into this technology, and other countries like Zimbabwe are contributing to its growth as people invest in bitcoin to secure their financial assets.

Bitcoin has also been listed on a big U.S. exchange (Chicago Board Options Exchange) which has been seen as one of the current contributors to its rise.
909  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-12-11] Chicago Exchange crashed by Bitcoin on: December 11, 2017, 09:13:16 AM
The long awaited launch of Chicago Board Options Exchange Bitcoin futures contracts went off with a bang yesterday as the website was knocked offline by a surge in traffic. The first contracts were offered at 18.00 EST on Sunday and an unprecedented demand overwhelmed the exchange.

CBOE Tweeted a status update which said “Due to heavy traffic on our website, visitors to cboe.com may find that it is performing slower than usual and may at times be temporarily unavailable. All trading systems are operating normally.”
The site outage coincided with a surge in Bitcoin price at the time of launch. According to CoinDesk’s Bitcoin Price Index (BPI) it jumped from $14,509 at 22:59 UTC to $15,732 seven minutes later, 8.4% in a few minutes. Once the initial rush had subsided the CBOE website came back online and contracts started to sell.

910  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-11] Forgotten Wallet Passwords? Hypnosis the Answer on: December 10, 2017, 09:48:25 PM
Why go through all this trouble when you can securely store your wallet credentials in a place you are most likely to remember, and this method of Hypnosis sounds like a dead end to me because most crypto coins now just require a private key of which only special people can memorize it.

This is hilarious, those hypnotists are basically making money out of nothing, because there are two possibilities - their customers would still be unable to recall their passwords, so hypnotists would just waste some 20 min of their time, but in case their customers will remember passwords later on their own (I happens from time to time, sometimes people just have to try all the possible variants of their usual passwords), hypnotists would claim that hypnosis worked and they have to pay them 5%. So, they are risking their own time (unless they charge regardless of outcomes), for a chance of getting some huge amount of coins. Very profitable scam.
You read my mind, but for wallets like the blockchain wallet there is a possibility it could work if the hypnotist asks the right questions to trigger some memory.
911  Economy / Economics / Re: Does this mean Cash will be extinct? on: December 10, 2017, 07:07:31 PM
Sweden is contemplating to stop using cash by 2023, does this mean cash might be extinct if other countries follow suit?

https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2017/10/sweden-could-stop-using-cash-by-2023?utm_content=buffer40bef&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer
2023 is just way too soon for this to happen, and I do not think we have reached that digital age to cut off the use of cash completely, maybe two or more decades from now going digital should be no problem... as bitcoin and other blockchain projects are already ushering in this digital age Sweden seeks to have.
912  Economy / Speculation / Re: will we see bitcoin price 20k by jaunary 1st 2018 on: December 10, 2017, 04:49:54 PM
Seeing how bitcoin performed the previous week.It is very much possible and we are not far from this price but because of how unpredictable the bitcoin market is I would say this might happen towards the end of the month of January or maybe even before Christmas...its a guessing game atm.

will we see bitcoin price continue going up or will it crash?
as of now we are not sure if bitcoin will continue to climb cuase bitcoin valued on this week keeps fluctuated which is dropped back to 13k and we are not sure if bitcoin will make a correction and jump to a new record again bcause there's a new fork coming.
Fortunately, I did not see it drop that low, price recovered and its starting to settle down, maybe 14 500 would be a good stop...
913  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: where can i invest to make money on: December 10, 2017, 03:28:59 PM
If you still looking for a place to invest you can try https://minexbank.com/. To get started you will be required to have some minexcoin (MNX) which you can buy from livecoin and once you are set you can use your minexcoin to get paid for parking(holding) and rates go from daily, weekly and yearly .
For more information about this project visit their ANN thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1847292.0
914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think any other coin will take Bitcoin place someday? on: December 10, 2017, 11:17:57 AM
Do you think that any of these altcoins can take Bitcoin place someday? Being the first does not necessarily means being the Top1, this happens all the time, especially in the digital industry. E.g: Naspter/Spotify, iPhone/Android, etc.
As you have already mentioned one of the biggest flaws bitcoin has is the high fees and long transaction times which are often very inconveniencing to the user and it is for this reason other coins will be considered to take up bitcoins position if no fix is found and honestly nothing lasts forever which is calling a spade a spade especially when it comes to technology, these takeovers always happen ,hope a fix comes soon to give bitcoin a long life.
915  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-9] Bulgaria Government Shocked To Discover It Owns $3 Billion In BTC on: December 09, 2017, 11:04:43 PM
Something fishy about this why would the organized criminal group keep all their stash in one wallet..for a group of hackers no words Roll Eyes? unless there is more which hasn't been disclosed or someone sold them out from the beginning! Anyway something positive from this, the government gets a chance to improve its computer systems after it was compromised just hope they don't dump those bitcoins in their possession.
916  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who uses myetherwallet? on: December 09, 2017, 05:35:30 PM
I use https://www.myetherwallet.com/ as its a very simple to use wallet and does not require any downloads or syncing of the blockchain which takes up a lot of time if you haven't used your wallet in a long time wish bitcoin had this kind of a wallet too . And recently there have been lots of phishing attempts maybe because of the high price of cryptocurrencies, fake look-alike websites are now on the rise and we need to be extra careful to prevent losing money.
917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WAVES PLATFORM VS ETH PLATFORM on: December 08, 2017, 10:02:26 PM
I think the best difference between the two platforms is the decentralized exchange that the waves platform has, other than that the ethereum platform is better in price, has a larger community and would be the most likely preferred choice of investment for many investors.

The recent network congestions on the ETH PLATFORM makes waves in this category better.
918  Other / Off-topic / Re: What wallets do you use? on: December 08, 2017, 08:18:16 PM
Which one suits you the most?
When it comes to bitcoin I find blockchain.info wallet comfortable to use but with all these hacking reports that we always get to read about electrum wallet is my holding wallet as at present.
For ethereum and all other erc20 tokens, Myetherwallet  is the best.
919  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BCH Over 3000$ on: December 08, 2017, 12:06:50 PM
At this point Bitcoin cash isn't getting much attention as people are scrambling to get their hands on some bitcoins (BTC) because of its current bullish nature and users are seeing this as an opportunity to get a quick return on their investment.
Can Bitcoin cash reach above 3000$ mark before the end of the year or is it stabilised in between 1300$ to 1600$ mark. Considering Bitcoin is stable at 10500$-11500$, we will see more fluctuations in Bitcoin Cash now.
Not a chance BCH isnt that popular to record such a high price before the end of the year . if anything it would take a deep dive as people will dump it and crossover to the original bitcoin.
920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to your Bitcoin when you Die? on: December 08, 2017, 11:36:14 AM
Did you guys teach your family members on how to access and use your Bitcoin in case you will die?
I think teaching someone(family member) how to use a bitcoin wallet is okay but giving them access to your wallet would be risky as they wouldnt know the value of the digital currency and would be tempted to spend some without your consent and might end up losing everything.

Do you want to take your Bitcoin with you when you're gone?
No ways, we wouldn't have much use with the bitcoins when you go the other side

Let me hear it from your own opinions...
Coming to the subject matter of what happens to your Bitcoins when you Die, If no one has access to them they will remain as a lost treasure!
