2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: February 22, 2016, 01:58:48 PM
No bitcoin can't make banks dissapear. Physical banks can dissapear, yes that's true but bitcoin won't be the reason that this will happen.
You're still going to need fiat if you're country hasn't adapted to bitcoin yet, so you will always need to exchange.
3  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your plan to get rich with Bitcoin? on: February 22, 2016, 01:58:18 PM
Maybe I will continue to collect bitcoin to be a lot. After that I will wait for the price to be high then bitcoin bitcoin to currency exchange. Maybe I wanted to wait for my bitcoin achieve the 10. Maybe it is my plan to become rich with bitcoin.
4  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you wish you could buy with btc ? on: February 18, 2016, 01:25:49 PM
I want to buy a house. a place to stay for me and my family. I want to live happily together. The most convenient place. The best thing is that it is currently possible here in India...  I remember that when the price of 1 BTC reached $1k, I had seen some houses being sold for upto 500 BTC a house... Too bad I don't have such opportunities at my place, else I would definitely invest.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping people from using bitcoin? on: February 18, 2016, 01:24:22 PM
Many here keep denying that it's difficult to use. That's a fact but what it's worse is that there's actually no problem to solve. Bitcoin doesn't do anything better than Paypal or CCs. Common people don't need Bitcoin in their lives unless they want to invest long term. People here mentioning Paypal is refundable as if was a disadvantage? you think that's a con for common folks?  Do you think my mother wants to use Bitcoin (which is non-refundable) so the minute she makes a mistake she will lose all her money? Really? Because she will make that mistake sooner or later I guarantee you, there are decimals, authorization keys, brain wallets, address as long as long as line of code, qr codes, and you think being non-refundable is a plus? I think Bitcoin is a unique technology don't get me wrong but is in its infancy just as the internet was in the early 90s, it's still just for curious and tech savvy people. In this case it also attracts investors and traders.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin core value? - miners will switch to Bitcoin Classic on: February 18, 2016, 01:23:43 PM
This situation is analogous to banking customers (the bitcoin userbase) depending solely on central banks (miners) to uphold the integrity of the system. It doesn't work in the real world and it won't work in bitcoin.  Non-mining users and miners have competing incentives. Miners are only concerned with profit -- historical attacks (withholding, double-spend, tx censoring) support that. The only checks on miners' incentives to attack other miners or users are 1) other miners (who might control enough computing power to prevent computing power based attacks) and 2) non-mining nodes (who might control enough nodes to prevent Sybil attacks). Past that, miners are presumed not to be honest (they have clear incentives to be dishonest), and will steal everything they can. Non-mining nodes are therefore essential to keeping miners honest, by making it too expensive or difficult to mount certain attacks against the userbase...

8  Other / Off-topic / Re: How would you guys react if you guys lost 10, 000 bitcoin? on: February 18, 2016, 12:56:20 PM
Well, it would definitely suck for many months but I don't think I would get too depressed unless that was all I had, as in savings. I have much less than 1 BTC right now and to me that's a treasure even if it's nothing in real life but if I lose it I would feel the same way as losing a huge amount of money really. Life won't change unless it's your whole savings or bankroll. Such thing is impossible for me, and won’t happen, I won’t be a full to invest such big amount online. But, assuming it happens, first of all I will faint, when I wake up I will if it’s a dream or real life, and I will feel nervous for some days.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping people from using bitcoin? on: February 18, 2016, 12:54:15 PM
Imagine you need to pay someone say $2000 that painted your house or performed another service.

And you wanted to pay them in BTC

And they heard of BTC and have no problem with the concept but never used it before

When you realize what you have to do - the explaining, the convincing, the handhold, how much time it takes you get them onboard and how much time it takes them to go through the process and have it converted to fiat in there hands...  Lips sealed
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: February 18, 2016, 12:53:19 PM
I don't also like Bitcoin's price volatility due to the fact that you could lose your investments quickly. This is a disadvantage but it also serves as an advantage since you could take advantage of price's instability (volatility) and make profit if you know how to do it well. Over the past weeks, I have been doing this and have made a decent amount of profit.

I also think  that there aren't much merchants accepting BTC but if you take a look, it is slowly gaining its adoption over time and I think it would take 5 to 10 years to see true mainstream adoption.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: February 18, 2016, 12:52:21 PM
Crypto hippies with their head in the clouds that don't know about finance, economics etc. That assertion relies on FIAT vanishing. As long as FIAT exists Banks will exist. Fiat is not going anywhere ! Maybe in 50 or a 100 years but now that is so far off it doesn't even matter. We might as well be talking about teleportation & flying cars. Many people don't even have a bank account.. or a Computer or cell phone. I hate to break it to you 1st world problem guys but the reality is much of the world is poor and will never ever have the reasonable means to use electronic devices that Bitcoin relies on. And there is no way a digital currency that relies on the Internet being up and powered with electricity 24/7 forever can replace REAL tangible hold in your hand currency. Banks exist to "handle" money ..real money ! REAL Money is not going anywhere. You people are delusional cheerleaders.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do with your idle coins? on: February 18, 2016, 12:50:18 PM
I just hold it until the price rise again. That is the right thing to do as if they are idle then there must be something in our minds that we are not using bitcoins, we would surely hold bitcoins for price rise and sell it at a right time and make some profits out of it, honestly bitcoins can never be idle as we would surely keep on using it and spending it whenever we need and that is the right thing to do with bitcoins.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you store your bitcoins? on: February 18, 2016, 12:49:39 PM
I keep Bitcoins in my own computer. I think because the safest. I keep it online but sometimes I find that quite unsafe because I sometimes hear from people that they have been hacked... So that's why I do it on my own PC.  Undecided
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hackers demand $3m bitcoin ransom from hospital to unlock vital files on: February 18, 2016, 12:47:16 PM
This is insane. There's not bottomline for human madness and cruelty. People who regard money above human lives are not worth the food they eat.  Embarrassed

so sad to see this kind of thing happening in 21st century...

Who is WR?

Im sorry for the possible inconvenient post, but I found this puzzle very intriguing and would like to join. But I would like to know first who guarantees that this prize is going to be handled to the winner?
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people use so many Bitcoin wallets? on: February 13, 2016, 11:57:28 PM
It's simple, because it is for their own extra security and for trading and some other stuff. I myself use 5 accounts for storing my BTC and 2 other accounts for trading.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin core value? - miners will switch to Bitcoin Classic on: February 13, 2016, 11:55:00 PM
Well, actual BTC are not in risk of disappearing as they can fit in 2 MB blocks. Users are in a comfortable place IMO as they can choose whatever they like once it is developed, without risking their coins beforehand...
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin trusted to put your real money on: February 11, 2016, 08:19:23 PM
I would never invest all my fiat in it. Never put all your eggs inside the same basket, right?  Grin
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin facebook page? on: February 11, 2016, 08:18:20 PM
There is no official page and if there was, who would control it and who would expose him/herself identity in publicly that way?? I don't see the point, really.

LOL

I would also never join such page with my personal account! That would be silly indeed.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is archaic on: February 11, 2016, 08:17:28 PM
Well, I really think Bitcoin will find a way to work out all these flaws. If you think about it properly, Bitcoin is still the one standing despite all the crisis.
