541  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Common mistakes by unskilled traders on: October 22, 2023, 09:30:46 PM
Basically trading is very risky because the nature of the market is very volatile and anyone will not be able to predict with 100% accuracy, even those who are experienced still have difficulty. Losses will always be there, and I am sure you will not want to continue to experience losses, well so the only way to reduce the amount of loss is to learn a lot about something that can make you lose and avoid it. So you will be able to get profits consistently but with a lower level of loss because you always learn to be better.
Market may be volatile but the frequency are I think can also depend on the coin that we choose. As you said, losses are always there, therefore don't say that we can avoid it. The first one that you said which is to reduce the loss is already okay.

Yes, no one wants to lose continuously, that sucks. I'd rather donate my money to the charity than lose it for nothing. I know, we can gain an experience but it's useless if we are not improving. In trading, consistent profits for a long period of time is not possible but it's fine, as our losses in some days can still be compensated by our profitable days. Traders who are like this are already pro or skillful but if they can learn more and improve more, why not?
Trading is highly risky not just because of its highly volatile market, but because some traders have set their minds that there is huge profits in trading which I don't think will be possible if they don't learned trading the hard way. The bigger the urge to trade most most especially for unskilled traders, the higher the risk of losing. Although losses are sometimes inevitable in trading, but if they chose to acquire knowledge and experience first, for sure committing inevitable risks will be somehow reduced.

This is possibly the reason why a lot of traders are just good at the start but when they start losing consistently, they end up quitting for good. If that is their mindset with trading, they will never learned and become skillful in trading because they easily become fearful when their losses have start to outnumber their profits when in reality, committing initial losses are normal before they will be successful and profitable in trading.

542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gift to wife. on: October 22, 2023, 08:57:51 PM
In my opinion, your wife should be aware of what you do for a career. And if you make Bitcoin-related content or job, chances are your wife is aware of it. However, not all wives are interested in Bitcoin; some only want a little notion that they might abandon later.

However, I'm thrilled that my fiance is eager to learn about cryptocurrencies because it will greatly benefit my crypto journey. I hope her interest is real and feel essential for her. As of now, I can only provide information about bitcoin, but I am hoping that in the near future I can give some.
Let's just say that bitcoin is not just limited to men as it can also be a passion for women.  So gifting bitcoin to a wife is actually a good start so she can also be aware that bitcoin can also be precious like gold, or its actually more precious and valuable than gold. But make sure that her interest is not just for short term duration but definitely for long term as much as possible. Know that bitcoin is never a get rich quick and should always be for long term investment to maximize its profits. With your guidance on how to manage bitcoin investment properly, i know your wife will always have the bigger chances to become successful with bitcoin as well.
543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 22, 2023, 03:27:53 AM
In the game against the Warriors, it was amusing to see Wiggins guarding Wemby. Wiggins is known for his defensive skills, but he didn't match up well with Wemby and he look like a little boy against a giant. The Spurs emerged victorious in that battle. However, I also noticed a weakness in Wemby - he seemed to run out of energy. This could be a factor he needs to work on, especially when facing teams like the Warriors who play at a high pace. If he can't keep up with the game's tempo, it might force the Spurs to bench Wemby which is not what we want to see.

Yeah, the Spurs won the game. Wemby put up 19 points in just 20 minutes of play, which seems about right for a preseason game. But you could tell he got a bit winded in that one, and who wouldn't? It was a small-ball game by the Warriors, and that can really tire out the opposition, especially if they're used to playing with big guys. Maybe that's why Tacko Fall and Boban Marjanovic don't see a lot of minutes on their teams, as they can't keep up with the fast-paced game. But Wemby's still young, he showed some special skills, and I'm sure there's plenty of time for him to develop his game.

As for Kristaps Porzingis (7-3), he earned some good minutes with his team, so it can vary from player to player, I guess.

I’ve been really surprised how well Wemby has been playing. I wonder if it’s just because of the preseason or what. I haven’t seen him getting bullied too much down low. I suspect that is going to change as soon as the regular season starts. I was totally wrong about LaMelo Ball though so maybe I’ll be surprised.

We'll find out soon enough as the regular season kicks off on October 24. The Spurs' first game is the day after, and they're up against Luka's team. I'm a bit surprised by how the bookies set the spread for this game. Dallas is the favorite, but only by -4 against the home team. It seems like the bookies are giving some credit to Wemby's special talent, which is why the Spurs are just slight underdogs at home.

The first game will probably give us a taste of whether he can maintain his performance in the regular season.

545  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: is there any safe ways out there to get 10-15 % ANY return rate ? on: October 21, 2023, 09:51:41 PM
It is easy to get 10-15% ANY return rate, but the problem is that you will get that percentage in the form of altcoin and the value of this token/coin may decrease, or you may not be able to withdraw it, or it requires a large capital that makes the risk of losing everything very possible.
Therefore, instead of looking for an easy, unguaranteed profit, it is better to learn trading, as it can easily enable you to achieve a good profit, or at least DCA, for Bitcoin during the next 24 months.
But not all altcoins have the possibility to give you 10-15% return rate as most of the altcoins are here not to make us profitable but to make their own market profitable through our funds. Which means to clearly take advantage over our funds. This is why if we want to really indulge with altcoins, chose those well established and have high utility case so they won't get devalued easily especially when the market suddenly create a market crash or market price decline.

But if you focus on bitcoin, the worries are not that high even if we say that the risk is high. As long as you understand how bitcoin works and you never assume high consistent profits, then you are safe. Bitcoin is never a get rich quick, so one should only expect minimal profits but rest assured that you will never get scam or its value will end up in zero value just like what most of the altcoins have experienced in the market.
546  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Experience is key, go for it. on: October 21, 2023, 09:18:22 PM
No matter the amount of information you receive on this forum, if you don't practice and work on having a first-hand experience, you won't understand much.

Experience is key in everything we do and it plays a huge role in determining how successful we will become in that field.

Experienced traders know when to buy when to sell, and when to hodl. They also know how to manage any fluctuation in the market, This helps them to minimize losses and guides them to take reasonable risk.

As you choose either to trade, mine, or do what works best for you, don't forget to learn the fundamentals and apply them correctly. also learn how to start small and gradually, you learn on the job and with time your experience level should have grown and you can now start making a reasonably calculated risk.
Experience will certainly be the best teacher in all forms of learning. As they say, you learn more by putting more practice and more experience until you become better on your chosen endeavor. Most especially when it comes to trading as its a battle of mind and skills, until you create your own working strategies that will make your trades work and succeed.

Learning without putting in action is useless. Although you may learn the theories and all its methods or strategies, but when it comes to practical application, you eventually fail. Not because you seem less knowledgeable, but because you lack the skills that is a crucial part in learning.
547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No scam sportsbooks on: October 21, 2023, 07:55:08 AM
Based on my personal experience, I can suggest the following sportsbooks.

1-duelbits.com
2-sportsbet.io
3-rollbit.com
4-Roobet.com

Actually, most casinos these days also offer sportsbooks. If you explore the forum, particularly the gambling section, you'll find many sportsbooks to choose from. The sportsbooks I've recommended are based on my personal experience, and they have a wide selection of lines. It's important to know that some sportsbooks might have the same bookmakers, meaning their odds and markets are quite similar. The key difference often lies in the reputation of the sportsbook.

He needs to make it his team and use every opportunity to make them realize that they throw the wrong player out.
He couldn't have done that; the Warriors made a well-thought-out decision. If only Poole had a strong playoff performance last season, he probably wouldn't have been traded. Unfortunately, he showed the opposite of what he displayed during their championship run, and that left the team with no choice but to trade him.

It seems like both sides are content, and it appears to be a win-win situation.

A single season of bad performance in the playoffs is usually not a ground for a team to trade or let go of someone they believe is a potential. There should be something not told in public by the Warriors' management. Or it could be that they saw CP3 as a golden opportunity more than Poole hence the trade.

Fans are divided on the trade but it is what it is. This is a blessing in disguise for Poole to show what he is as a player since the Wizards do not have a superstar. We'll find out soon if he is a superstar potential or just a support type of player.

The reason for this seems rather evident – the altercation between Poole and Green was a major factor in Poole not feeling fully embraced by the Warriors as part of the family. Perhaps it was Poole's own decision to not give his all during the playoffs, forcing the Warriors to consider trading him. It's hard to take Poole's playoff struggles at face value when he's reportedly at 100% health. There must be a deeper reason for his performance issues that won't heal as long as he remains with his old team. It's a relief that he's been let go, and hopefully, time will heal those wounds.

Maybe Poole sees that with the splash bro existence he won't be able to make it as the main alpha, so the trade will give him that
opportunity to become one and fulfil his goal.
True, he needs to wait for his turn to become the leader of the team, and that will only happen once the big 3 retire. In his mind, perhaps he felt he couldn't wait any longer, so he decided to take a shortcut. He was clever in playing his cards right, performing exceptionally well to secure a good contract. After all, no team would offer a good contract to a player who isn't exceptional.

Though that fight against Green is still the main factors of the trade, or maybe there's something behind that will come out, remember
the time where KD and Green also have some issue, but it was being cleared when KD accept the interview of Green from his podcast channel.

We've seen it happen with KD too. Compared to Poole, KD is undoubtedly much better both in terms of achievements and talent. Poole is still young and has a lot to prove. If KD couldn't dismantle the big 3, it's highly unlikely that Poole will succeed. KD's approach in the past was somewhat similar - 'If you can't beat them, join them,' and he joined the Warriors. However, that didn't signal his retirement; he's been traded to different teams in pursuit of another championship that the Warriors were able to give him.
549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: October 20, 2023, 01:32:26 PM
@cryptomaniac_xxx. I reckon if Casimero is lucky to have this fight against Nery, gets a knockout or makes a very impressive performance, I reckon team Inoue might be persuaded to Casimero if there is a possbility that it can be a fight for big money.
It looks like that won't happen because after Casimero defeated Duke Micah he said that if he didn't fight Inoue then he would fight Nery and in reality Casimero actually fought Inoue so it would be impossible for him to meet Nery.
You are talking about a fight in the bantamweight division, which happened quite some time ago. Now, they are competing in the super bantamweight division, where Inoue and Tapales both hold two belts. Casimero is not considered a top challenger due to his low ranking. However, Nery could be a mandatory challenger. According to reports, he was already banned from fighting in Japan, so they'll have to take the fight elsewhere if that happens.

For Casimero to fight Inoue, he must become a mandatory challenger. This will only happen if Casimero rises to the top of the rankings, just below the champion, who is Nery. Therefore, it's likely that Nery will face Casimero, and the winner will then take on Inoue.

Quote
However, Casimero is facing a Japanese fighter on October 12, is he not? This might also have team Inoue watching because the fight will be in Japan. Casimero might give another trashtalk heheheh.
The fight against Yukinori Oguni ended in a draw and this made Inoue more superior because the fight against Yukinori Oguni could be taken as lesson to find Casimero weakest point.
But really the match was like drama because referees one and two gave Casimero the superior point but the third referee gave the superior point to Yukinori Oguni which made the fight end in draw.

The outcome of the match was controversial; some believe it should not have ended in a draw since the headbutt came later after Casimero hit Oguni with a clean shot. However, as you know, the referee's decision is final, unless Casimero's camp decides to contest it, which could take a significant amount of time before a decision is reached.

As for Casimero's performance, it has notably declined, and he has not secured any convincing wins. Therefore, he needs to work on improving his ranking first.

551  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is doubling your investment more probable than we think? on: October 19, 2023, 09:58:37 PM
I don't consider my investment goal to be doubling my money, but rather a return on what I have invested. That's the profit I expect from this investment, but I don't have a definite target when I will take this profit. If the price of bitcoin can reach x2 in the next few months due to halving factors or so on, then maybe I will take some of the profits and keep the rest for a longer period of time.

So far I've consistently accumulation as much as I can, but I only plan to do it until the halving. If the price of bitcoin during the halving has reached $50k, then I will stop accumulation and wait for the best moment to take profits. This is just a plan, but it may still change should the price of bitcoin not exceed $50k at the halving.
Well, it's also not wrong to expect massive returns from our investment like seeing it 3x or even 4x from our investment capital. But that will only happen if you are a high-profile investor and is putting exceedingly large amount on your investment. For sure, you will reap what you sow in time. But if we are just a small scale investor, then never expect too much. If you invest minimal amount, you will only profit a small amount as well no matter how bullish its price is.

However, one should not invest and think of immediate profits. You will only lose your chance seeing your investment with bigger yields. Just invest a good amount of bitcoin and hold it for long term, the result will still be a lot of profits when you make an investment and just try to forget about it. Let's say if you hold for maximum of 5 years, surely you will reap highly exceptional amount of profits.
552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Casino Industry's Contribution On Your Country By Percentage on: October 19, 2023, 01:03:39 PM
In Muslim-majority countries the casino industry does not provide tax income for the country because this industry is prohibited there, such as in my country which is Muslim-majority. Here the casino industry is prohibited from operating because it is against religious norms, so there is no national tax income from the casino industry. But in my area, which is a predominantly Christian area, the casino industry runs and provides a little income to the local government and they actively carry out charity actions to build various facilities. So even though nationally it is prohibited, locally it is allowed to operate and I think it has a good impact on society.

Good impact on the society but not on the country, some countries with major casinos are really benefiting from the industry.

Top biggest countries in the world as per https://blog.kheloo.com/top-20-biggest-gambling-countries-in-the-world/

The top 3 are ;

1. USA
2. China
3. Japan.

These are billion-dollar industries, and we can already imagine the significant impact of gambling on their country's revenue. Additionally, these are progressive countries. In short, the gambling industry could contribute to a country's economy and help it improve. Why do other countries ban gambling, aside from religious reasons?
553  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Which bull run experience is the best for you? on: October 19, 2023, 07:42:17 AM
2017 was the best year for me, although I missed out on some opportunities due to bad decision-making. But we are only human, and we make mistakes. What matters is that we still made money, so we should be thankful for that. Have you already felt the bullish sentiment? I believe I've sensed it as I've read many posts about a bull run, including this one. Since the halving is nearing, and according to CZ, based on his observations, bull runs usually follow halving events, we should be prepared.

There's still plenty of time to prepare for a significant bull run, but if I were you, considering that most of us here earn income from promoting a certain brand, I think we should just hold onto our earnings. We earn on a weekly basis, so if that grows over time and Bitcoin rises, it would be a substantial bonus for us already.

I love that the OP brought up this discussion. It can inspire newcomers who read our stories because a bull run can lead to some incredible opportunities and profits. It can take our profits to new heights if we are fortunate. Good luck to all of us; preparation is the key here.
554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 19, 2023, 06:57:08 AM
Lillard is still struggling in the preseason. In the game against OKC, they lost by 23 points, even after winning two big games earlier. He's shooting 2-11 and only managed to score 5 points in 24 minutes of play. I don't know anymore; it really feels like the system is taking a toll on his stats. His three-point shooting has been really off, with no makes out of 5 attempts.

The Bucks need to sort this out early since the regular season hasn't even kicked off. Hopefully, they'll find a way to get the old Lillard back and make some major adjustments if needed. After all, they brought Lillard in for a reason, and if they can't maximize his potential, I'm worried they might end up with the same fate as last season in the playoffs, or maybe even worse.
I don't believe he is completely comfortable playing with this team and the other players just yet. So this feeling out period is still needed because those numbers are quite poor to say the least for the amount of money they paid for him.
Seeing him in green just didn't feel right to me as I was a Blazers fan and will always see him in red.
Will wait and see next week if things will improve when the regular season kicks off on the 24th.

His buddy CJ was doing pretty well with the Pelicans. It would be a pity to see Lillard struggle with the Bucks, considering he's one of their main players, at least based on his salary. The Bucks needed someone like him, so there were high expectations when they got Lillard. But his numbers aren't all that impressive. I could understand if it was just one game, but it's not. In their game against the Lakers, he also only shot 3-10, though he finished with 14 points.

Let's compare his performance this preseason, which is pretty poor when you look at his overall performance last season with the Blazers, where he finished with a 46% field goal percentage. Now, in these last two games, if we combine them to get an average, it's only 24% – very low! Is it not 'Dame time' yet? Grin

I will react if that will be the same performance during the regular season. I think they are just letting him to find his comfort zone,
Giannis and the rest of the squad will be there for him.

With the same goal, winning the title, bringing Dame in hope that they will be more competitive. This coming is really expected by the fans.

We never know what will be the strategy here. They just go for whatever will be the outcome during this pre-season and will be back
strong when the regular season begins.

Yeah, it's fair to say that we can't draw any major conclusions from the preseason. These games don't really count for much, and players are just out there having a good time, not going too hard to avoid injuries.

But, you know, some players were really shining in the preseason. They were putting up big minutes to keep things interesting. However, this one player, I don't know, I can't help but wonder. We can't judge him right now, but I'm pretty curious about his regular season performance. If he stays as consistent as he was in the preseason, maybe there's an issue with the system or coaching, not Lillard.

And can we talk about Curry? That guy is just insane beyond the arc. He was nailing shots from all over the place, even with some tight defense. Big win for the Warriors, no doubt.

Absolutely, that player is still on fire, no change at all. But man, Lillard seems to be struggling big time with his 3-point shooting lately. It's a bit concerning.

Yes, Bitcoin was proven and tested  when it comes to long-term matters. The question is, is Bitcoin the only proven and tested long-term investment in this field? what about the Ethereum, Bnb, Ltc, Doge, and others that are top-listed in the market are they proven and tested? Isn't that they also gave a lot of profit to al holders who believed in these altcoins?
That's your own take on this but I think alot of people who have been greatly affected by altcoins syndrome will certainly disagree with you on this because  although the above mentioned coins have been around for some time but the fact still remains that these altcoins are nothing comparable to Bitcoin in terms of market trust and reliability. Let's take one of the so called popular coins that was a hit a few years back as an example LUNA the coin had a big stand and alot of skeptical person like yourself who actually believe this stability actually invested their money on this coin and the after effect and toll was shown as all these coins belong to a central entity and can be controlled and manipulated which gives them the lower hand when it comes to their stand in reliability in the crypto space.

We can't deny that some altcoins have brought substantial profits to their investors, but when compared to Bitcoin, they can be riskier, even though Bitcoin remains relatively stable despite its occasional volatility. It ultimately boils down to personal choice, but we're here to talk about long-term investments that we can simply hold without the need for constant monitoring, as long as our Bitcoin is securely stored in our wallet.

The thing with altcoins is that there are some risks involved, and based on my personal observations, here are a couple to consider:

1-Developers: If the developers abandon a project, the price usually takes a hit. If you're not keeping a close eye on this, you might end up losing your investment. This has happened before, and it could happen again, turning you from a hero to zero.

1-Network Shift: I've experienced this myself when some of my Ethereum tokens switched to a different network without me realizing. I was just holding them in my wallet, and to make things worse, they imposed a deadline for swapping to a new coin; otherwise, your holdings become worthless.

These are just a few of the things to keep in mind when investing in altcoins. With Bitcoin, you can sit pretty, as it will remain Bitcoin, even 50 years from now.

will not blame anyone in that situation and if we think logically I appreciate the person efforts to avoid his friends after a big win because in my experience history when a friend finds out another friend has a lot of money and tries to borrow a large amount promises to return it but in In the end, they did not return the money and the two parties quarreled and broke off their friendship. so if that person avoids his friends to avoid this situation, I really appreciate it because he wants to maintain his friendship with other friends because money can break someone good relationship.

but if we think instantly we will think how bad that person is when it is difficult and happy they are always together but when they win they disappear and avoid other friends and should win big amounts at least give tips whatever the amount to the people closest to them to give them a feeling of gratitude for getting a big win but after all, it was a decision he had taken and as a friend he did not have to think badly.
For me, there’s no need to avoid your friends because you are just afraid that they will try to borrow you and won’t be able to return the money. Instead, face them and tell them the truth that you are also in need of that money so that they will also understand your point. At least, giving them some tips regardless of the amount will make them feel that they are not forgotten and are still important to you. If they are really your friends, they will understand you and won’t never criticize your decision.

There's no straight answer to this question.
We don't know how much is "a lot" and we don't know what your win/lose rate is.
For instance, you could be a gambler who is losing half of his paycheck every month, his win/rate is at 30%, or lower, suffers from depression...
Or, you could be a gambler who lost a lot in our terms, normal people's terms, but he doesn't care because it's less than 1% of his net worth and he doesn't suffer emotionally at all, gambling is a social thing for him.

I'd say that if you're the first case or similar, stop playing because it destroys your life. If you're more like the second guy, keep going.
You are right in there. Some gamblers may have lose a lot but as long as they can still manage their gambling losses and expenses, I think there’s no reason to quit from gambling. But for other gamblers who have obviously gained too much losses than their winnings, and made their lives suffer financially and emotionally, then the best answer for that is to really stop gambling for good. That is, if they are also willing to leave gambling.

It looks like the PBA will indeed start on November 5, 2023, as the timer is already counting down the right number of days remaining. As we can see on their official website, the next game is set to start in 19 days. This means there's plenty of time for our players to enjoy their vacation and relax with their families, because when they return, the season is sure to be hectic in terms of the schedule.

Brownlee is probably still in the US, but it can't be easy for him to learn that he tested positive for an illegal substance, especially after winning a gold medal. But that's life; he has to accept the result. What's important is that the medals were not taken back.

Lillard finally made his debut with the Bucks. They defeated the Lakers on the road by 11 points (108-97) for the Bucks. He played only 22 minutes and 23 seconds, but his production wasn't that impressive, with a 3-10 shooting performance for the whole game, which is not what we were expecting. I guess he is still adjusting to his new team, or maybe he hasn't taken it too seriously since it's just the preseason.

But there is some positive news from the team; the points are well-distributed, which means the ball movement is on point.
