641  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: October 21, 2023, 09:21:09 AM
The best advice for gambling responsibly is to develop good habits. Many gamblers forget that gambling should be for enjoyment. When you gamble, it's important to know when to stop, keep track of your bets and losses. I've witnessed situations where people lose a significant amount of money but refuse to quit and keep playing. Is this bravery or foolishness? In the end, they tarnish the reputation of responsible gamblers. If you choose to gamble, do it responsibly.

To a certain extent yeah, just gamble and have some fun. But just imagine this, if you go to land base casino for example, you see a lot of gamblers playing slots of card games, what do you think is the percentage of them playing and just want to be entertained? Right, majority of them wanted to go and win some money too and just just losing every time just for the sake of having some fun of whatnot. I don't believed that if you continue to lost some money, specially big ones, that you are happy and not be affected mentally by the money that you are losing. I'm just calling it how I see it, this is not an attack or something who says that "they go for it just for entertainment". The only way to stop gambling is to not really stepping on a land based casinos or try playing online. Because sooner or later you are going to be hooked on, admit it or not.
642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever heard about financing a gambler? on: October 19, 2023, 02:36:25 AM
The fact that gambling is involved, I don’t think he can be trusted when it comes to money matters. Although it’s okay if he will really use the money for good purposes, but when it comes to gambling using borrowed money, then never expect that he will still be able to repay you or even pay a portion of it.

However, I have never experienced financing a gambler ever since. And if it’s going to happen in the future, for sure I will never ride with it. I am a regular gambler so I know eventually the winning rate vs the losing rate. And most of the time, gamblers often lose so while the house is always the winner.

I definitely think that when it comes to gambling and lending money we shouldn't trust our friend who asks us to finance them because even if this person is our very close friend, we don't know or cannot predict whether they will be able to repay their debt if they loses that money. If this person is going to cover his/her personal expenses in exchange for borrowed money they will most likely pay the debt at as soon as possible but there is no guarantee that they will pay back if they loses money in gambling.

Exactly, even if it is a friend of ours though, we shouldn't trust anyone if we speak about finance and money. I will tell you a story about a big whale that I know if a land based casinos here. He is so trustful, if there is a word for that. I mean since he has a lot of money, he would simply trust anyone to hold that money for him. And there was this news that he entrusted someone, maybe he was a friend or very close to him. To withdraw his winning inside the land base casino. It was a huge amount of money. Unfortunately, the supposedly person withdraw that but didn't give the money to the whale and disappear. Now he is being hunted and there were appropriate court cases against that guy. Moral lesson is that trust is very subjective, and as far as money goes, everyone is tempted.
643  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: October 18, 2023, 09:49:59 AM
In other words, from time to time we will analyze our position and our assets and we might even start to determine that we can change our strategy because we have accumulated enough BTC... whether that happens in 1-2 years or maybe it takes 15 years to 20 years, this will vary from person to person regarding how long it might take for the person to start to consider that s/he has enough and s/he can transition from accumulation stage to maintenance stage. and sure maybe the transition will not be 100% clear because even if someone is in maintenance stage they still might accumulate BTC from time to time, but not be so concerned about accumulation because overall such person has determined that s/he has gotten enough bitcoin.
Am being inquisitive right now. So your saying that there might be a time when one feels he has accumulated enough bitcoin and would decide to only maintain the Bitcoin  he has accumulated. I am aware of people saying that accumulating Bitcoin has been an obsession to them irrespective of the amount of Bitcoin they have they still accumulate as much of it as possible since they have the money to put it in. Assuming someone is obsessed is it something that is wrong or it is good especially in this present time?
If only I could Pm so you teach me your ways  Smiley

Others might have a certain target though, let's say 1 BTC as this is what everyone is aiming to be a member of 1 BTC club. And for starter this is going to be very hard to accomplished, but for those who have been doing it for years, thru DCA and whatever strategy suit them, they could have been saving more than that. If you are interested, you can see it here:

https://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-bitcoin-addresses.html

So you can see where you at right now as far as accumulating BTC. And I will agree that it's a never ending quest to acquire it. We might be selling at some point, but for sure you will want to get it back as soon as you can. I wouldn't say it's an obsession though, you still have to look at it as an asset that you will have to make some profits later.
644  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: October 18, 2023, 03:06:17 AM
When I first got into bitcoin, I was actually buying every week with my set budget and also trying to find dips within the week in order to maximize my BTC buys for each of the weeks within my set budget for each of the weeks, but most people are not that passionate, and they might well be better off by not being passionate, and just exercising "set it and forget it" so after a year or two, they look at their investment rather than watching it every week like I had been doing and maybe many of the active forum members are willing to do... but normies do not necessarily want to be very active in terms of their BTC investment and that is one of the reasons why DCA can be so powerful for normies who do not want to study or watch their investment with any kind of particularity.
Actually this was the same kind of buying strategy or rather method by brother normally use for accumulation of Bitcoin, what he does was that he will have a targeted amount of Bitcoin to be accumulated within a month and with the strategy of watching the market all the time to buy from any little dip he sees so that's the kind of strategy he normally use, according to him he said the method allows him to minimize the amount of money used in accumulating Bitcoin.

It will really work, you can have to find the grind to do it every week or even every month. But for those who doesn't have that patience, they might as well implore the strategy of buying in just one lump sum, and just leave it in their wallet, forget about it and just comeback when we are in the bull run. So it really depends on each individual. But relatively, I will also used the DCA method, I mean I have been using ever since and it has work perfectly, at least in my case and most likely those old timers here (as opposed to JayJuanGee term of normies).

What I understand from this method is that it has to do with a lot of patient and consistently watching the market in other to have a good entry,  so is very stressful method and I can't imagine myself using that strategy but however irrespective of the little advantage it may have but it can never be compared with DCA method, because it allows you to set a target and hit it without considering the price movement.

True, but once you get over it (my secret is that I look for the long term goal), it's going to be easy and smooth ride and then after a year or two it will be just like regular, clockwork for you to invest and do DCA without you feeling as if it is being force on you. Of course, there will be weeks that you might not able to buy because of some contraints, but still you can go back and start all over again and continue where you left behind.
645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 18, 2023, 02:04:00 AM
It's a huge accusation.
Regis Prograis Says Devin Haney Paid To Remove Loss On His Record
Quote
Regis Prograis says he heard that Devin Haney paid to have a loss removed from his record earlier in his career when he was fighting in Mexico. Fans on social media don’t want to believe that their lionheart, Haney, paid to erase a loss, but that could be an example of people putting their heads in the sand to ignore the unpleasant truth.
https://www.boxingnews24.com/2023/10/regis-prograis-says-devin-haney-paid-to-remove-loss-on-his-record/
For now, it's a gossip. He "heard" it.
I've read that having 0 loss is a good thing because of the money that will come in. But if fans of Devin Haney do love him then it should not change anything. Although it may put a crack on his reputation if proven true. Whoever is handling the records must also be sued if he is really taking money from boxers who like to keep their record clean.
Quote
Having an unbeaten record in this era is important because it likely means more money, and it helps a fighter’s career. Once they get a loss, they’re looked at differently by fans. Canelo Alvarez is an exception, but he’s someone with a massive following.
That might be true. Ryan Garcia is a good example of it. Suddenly the hype about him is gone and I don't think whoever he challenges will accept a contract where Garcia will take a bigger portion of it after his loss against Davis, and worse a KO liver punch.
I think Manny Pacquiao in his era is also an exception because he may have lost a lot of fights but because of the record that he broke he should be paid more than other boxers.
This kind of things just depends on how popular the boxer is, for starters though a loss will hurt their slice of the cake.

Yes, I read this accusations by Regis. But Haney says that the insinuation came from the camp of Rolly Romero (another 140 lbs champion). But then again this is just a rumor and nothing can be proven here. There's even speculation that Canelo also go this route early in his career as he suffer a lot but then we don't see it in his records.

I'm not sure about unbeaten records though, Loma for once have a questionable L in the beginning of his career. But he bounce back and become a champion and one of the best. But even after a lost against Teo Lopez, he bounce back again. The problem with Ryan is mental though, we all know that he has the potential to be a great champion, however, it seems that he is more on a social media type guy and wanted to take advantage of his popularity and just looking for bigger purse. He will have his comeback fight though, so we will see what's next for him at 140 lbs.
646  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: US SEC does not plan to appeal court decision on Grayscale bitcoin ETF on: October 18, 2023, 01:29:29 AM
I heard they're trying to launch an appeal against Grayscale? Or was it against the Ripple Labs verdict?

I think it was the case against Ripple, here's the official documents: https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nysd.551082/gov.uscourts.nysd.551082.915.0.pdf

Whichever one it was, it just shows how spineless the SEC is when they get served a decision that they do not like. Now on the crypto side of things, how long do you guys thing it will take for the Grayscale Bitcoin ETFs to hit the market? A few months? A year? Maybe two years?

The pressure is now on the side of SEC, not just legal but perhaps political pressure. We have seen him in Congress already and majority of the Congressman is not on the side of Gensler. So if everything goes on schedule maybe next year we might see the long awaited Bitcoin ETF because SEC doesn't have a choice.
647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Misleading Report on SEC Decision Shakes Bitcoin Market on: October 17, 2023, 11:35:55 AM
On Monday, the crypto-focused media outlet Cointelegraph disseminated false information via social media platform X and its Telegram channel, triggering a more than 10% spike in bitcoin (BTC) value against the U.S. dollar.
The digital currency briefly touched $29,900 per coin before plunging to $28,100 per unit once the news was debunked. Cointelegraph, despite issuing an apology, was too late to prevent the market upheaval that resulted in the obliteration of $78.92 million worth of short positions.source

Quoting for reference.

Yeah, it's a fake news as what we say, but the good news is that the price really went up, and so far we are at $28,4xxx. So it really put a spike on the price, and it seems that it has sustained the run despite it being exposed as not so true news.

Clearly, this is some form of manipulations from big entities, so in this market that we live in, "bad publicity is still publicity'". And I think this is the nature of crypto related media though, news are not verified and they are put up for click bait.
648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING]Adrien Broner vs Chris Howard (Welterweight) Nov 4. . on: October 17, 2023, 10:45:17 AM
There’s been a change in the schedule. The fight between Adrien Broner and Chris Howard, which was originally set for November 4th, has been moved to December 2nd. This fight is scheduled for 10 rounds in the Welterweight division.

I think Broner's ranking at 15 in the Welterweight division under WBC shows that he still has potential.

https://www.boxingscene.com/adrien-broner-vs-chris-howard-pushed-back-december-2--178511

There's only one reason why this fight was moved if I may speculate. I'm sure the promoters weren't able to meet his expectations in terms of ticket sales and anything else related to the fight's revenue. This isn't a very popular fight, although I must say that Broner is quite popular, but it's not a championship fight, so it's not expected to generate a lot of money.

Regarding this kind of fight, I'm not sure if it will proceed since it has already been moved. Worse, it might even be canceled, as it hasn't gained much attention from boxing enthusiasts. This could put Broner's finances in jeopardy, especially if the rumors about him living paycheck to paycheck in boxing are true.

Yes, most likely this is the case, as we all know that Broner doesn't have the hype anymore and obviously his opponent? We don't know him really. So it's a good move for the promoters, or maybe it will be good if this could be in some undercard, so that there will be exposure.

But in any case that the promoters are going to make this a stand alone fight, might be difficult to make money. Unless they really low ball both of this fighters to accept the fight with small money.

650  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Scam/Fake Binance Word of the Day (WOTD) on: October 17, 2023, 09:18:46 AM
Unfortunately it seems that the numbers is on the rise again, as there are a lot of phishing sites being created day by date. And if one sites goes down because of crypto enthusiast reporting it, another one will pop up.

And maybe the problem lies to this domain registrar though as they are very relax in accepting anyone.

So everyone, we need to just be on the look out. And then report it right away if we find some phishing sites. And don't trust Google if we wanted to search about crypto related things.
651  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino Junket Operator on: October 17, 2023, 01:35:14 AM
I’m still confused what’s their main purpose but they are the one who partner with the casino to lure VIP players in the form luxurious offer such as accommodation and travel trips just to make them play in the casino. In return, they will get profit sharing on the total amount spend by their recruits. Casino junket counter part in online casino are those Gambling review sites and other that offers extra rewards such as free spin or other form of rewards which they are paying from their own pocket when player sign up using their referral link.

Since this people get paid for what they offer, we cannot blame them because everyone is looking for a survival means, the same way the promoters and influencers work hard to pull traffic for a casino, junkers are also doing their job and make survival in doing this professional works, all this are what constitutes the varieties of gambling opportunities for the people to utilize them for their own benefits, how we now engage with this offers will determine whether it will be in an acceptable manner or not.

But the thing is that those legitimate junkets has some other narrative behind, they just hide everything of being a junket, but the real purpose might be using it to get a lot of big money players to get investments which turns out to be a scam.

And it was reported that the perpetuators of his crimes flies to Japan already to hide. And from what I understand, the defend themselves by saying that everything is legit. Of course it is, because they just uses the casino as front for their operations. Hopefully this people are going to be arrested and suffer and put to the jail because for sure the money has bee used already by this 2 people.
652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SEC does not plan to appeal court decision on Grayscale bitcoin ETF on: October 16, 2023, 11:09:16 AM
According to this report, SEC is not going to appeal about the recent ruling that they, SEC was found to be wrong in rejecting the application of Grayscale to create a spot Bitcoin ETF.

What else should we expect, should the court decision be a superior to the SEC decision over the approval for spot bitcoin ETF application or not, do Greyscale have to go this extra miles, despite the fame and global recognition they already have, i don't think that SEC need to make an appeal as well in this regard, they are only doing their own job with their reasons for non approval, Greyscale will not be the first to be rejected neither will it be the last.

I think you didn't get the point, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals in Washington ruled that SEC was wrong when they rejected Grayscale’s proposed bitcoin ETF. The court ruling didn't say that SEC should approved the application of Grayscale for a Bitcoin Spot ETF. They are not doing their job though, if they did, then they should have approved it already. But they keep on denying it that's why Grayscale has to challenge it.

Here's the full list of Spot Bitcoin ETF Applications if anyone is interested:

653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: October 16, 2023, 07:03:02 AM
Yes, and Tapales already gave a warning to Inoue already, ‘I’ll be your biggest nightmare’.

Tapales is trying to be like Casimero. The guy has some confidence to say to Inoue that he is his biggest nightmare. He can say anything he wants, but I'm hoping he'll back it up with his performance. I don't want to see a boxer who's no different from Inoue's past opponents, who were afraid to engage and fought just to survive.

Quote
So let's see what's next for Casimero and how his Japanese promoter will do to his career because it's not really moving forward in the super bantamweight division.

The outcome of the fight doesn't benefit him. It ended in a DRAW, but it's not just the outcome that concerns us; it's how he handled the fight and how he appeared to gas out early. It's not a good sign for him, and I think Inoue could decline his challenge, saying he's not on his level.

I wouldn't say Tapales is trying to be Casimero or what. We haven't seen him being brandish in the ring or something, perhaps he just want to show that he is confident in his abilities and not afraid of the Monster.

And this is what I have been saying about Casimero: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wL_f0RZGeiQ

He might end up with nothing if he stops fighting because he just give his money away and this the problem not just with Casimero. All other boxers in the past lost their money this way. Didn't save some for them and in the end, all those that they help disappear.

654  Economy / Gambling / Re: COINS.GAME | THE MOST REWARDING CRYPTO CASINO | SPORTSBOOK & CASINO on: October 16, 2023, 04:08:22 AM
@xLays - who knows? maybe I will join in, but I'm more into sports betting though, but let's see. And I don't want to ruined that you guys had, so I will just stay in the background and most likely be just a spectator,  Grin.

And so I might try their sports later and see how it goes for me, not a cricketer though.

So goodluck to everyone.
655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Drake's Curse. on: October 15, 2023, 09:48:02 PM
Yeah he has history of losing big in some exhibition fights and others. And if I'm not mistaken, he lost his bet on the Fury vs Jake Paul bout wherein he had Jake Paul winning. But unfortunately, Tommy Fury won that fight. It's reported that he lost like $350,000.

Drake though has a lot of money, so he can sleep over with another lost although for us this is already a big amount that we won't simply go and bet on a fight. But that's Drake though, he is a multi-millionaire, successful music rap artist and very influential too. You just have to watch some of insane bets on other games and losing millions in an instant.
656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: October 15, 2023, 05:14:36 AM
Yes, for sure Inoue has seen this fight already and he himself is not impressed by the performance of Casimero to the point that maybe he is no longer wants to fight him. And even if Casimero win against Oguni, given the fact with the way he handle himself, with no stamina and he was hit by Oguni, I do agree that his current condition is not enough to defeat the Monster.

Inoue right now is a complete package, and chances are very high that we will be the 2nd man to have two unified belt. The first one is Crawford, at 140 lbs and 147 lbs. And Inoue with his scheduled fight against Tapales this December. Casimero will have to go home enjoy his pay check but somewhat will have to think about his career at time is running out for him.

For now, it is safe to say that Inoue vs Casimero is out of the picture with that horrible performance, and what makes it worse is the statement of Casimero after the fight that seems to me that he was just there to take the money and not minding if the fight fans were enjoying the show.

That is too bad if Casimero is just looking for paycheck after paycheck moving forward. And if he keeps going this way, sooner or later he might not have these big money coming in and hopefully he had some already invested because it seems that if you follow his social media, he is very flamboyant and living the lifestyle as if money is not going to be a problem for him in the future.

I've read an article that says the fight between Tapales and Inoue might be on December 26, seems legit as both guys are hitting the gym at this point preparing for that big event, not only for Inoue but also for Tapales. No one knows that there might be an upset as Tapales is not nicknamed The Nightmare for nothing hehe.

Yes, and Tapales already gave a warning to Inoue already, ‘I’ll be your biggest nightmare’.

So let's see what's next for Casimero and how his Japanese promoter will do to his career because it's not really moving forward in the super bantamweight division.
657  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the selling pressure in the ATH level can be a problem to reach $100k? on: October 15, 2023, 03:31:24 AM
Regarding the question of whether we will reach $100,000 immediately after the halving? I don't think we will suddenly grow to 6 digits after halving, and it's note though what will be the price pre-halving? That is the most important question before we can see the price jumping in months and short term to $100,000 (I'm assuming that this is "immediately" as per the OP).

If it hits $50,000 before halving, then maybe specially if there is really that big news to trigger that massive growth like the news of Spot Bitcoin ETF approval next year by SEC. So really hard to see and speculate, but one thing is for sure, there's a lot of hype that our new all time high will be minimum 6 digits so even those who have bought at the previous all time high of  $69,000 might still get profits if they continue to HODL on it or just go and accumulate in the bear market.
658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An agent is no where to be found. on: October 15, 2023, 03:01:54 AM
Today I witness something very strange in the area where I live recently. There was a gambling shop that was not too far from where I am staying, so every day different gamblers visit the shop to bet on games, some win and some don't win a dime.

So, yesterday afternoon, a man bet on a midnight game and the game played accordingly as predicted, but the surprising thing was that the betting agent ran away with the money the man won, and the betting agent is no where to be found.

However, I am here to say these are the reasons why it is not always good to gamble in a betting agent's shop, because if the manager of the shop does not run with the money a gambler wins, then one of the workers in the betting shop might run away with the money someone wins, so I do conclude that an online gambling site with good reputation is the best for gambler, so what do you guys have to say about this?.

The question is, is the betting agent legit or it is a just a fly by night betting shop? If it is a legit betting agent then maybe he has a chance to pursue legal means about the owner. However, if it is just a illegal and fly by night betting shop, I doubt that the winner can go after the owner of the shop as he might simply disappear and never return.

I have been betting on a legitimate betting shop but I haven't encounter this situation. If I won, I will just go there, sometimes they will say that they don't have the money yet and if I'm willing to wait or just go to other legit betting shop to claim my price. Usually legit betting sites have the government approval first, like a lottery or even a horse race betting shop.
659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Logan Paul Vs Dillon Dannis and KSI vs Tommy Fury Today! Oct 14th on: October 15, 2023, 02:39:44 AM
Lol, Dillon didn't even attempt to win, and then he try to choke Logan Paul as he was clearly beaten. It's obvious that he didn't even train for this fight and just to get his paycheck.

KSI vs Tommy Fury fight as well was lackluster, Fury with a majority decision.

And just like what we have been saying, this guys are just for the entertainment and big paycheck and nothing more.

I didn't really care about this event and didn't watch it but I saw that it was trending on social media.

Dillon Dannis and Logan Paul was the battle of the shitcoin scammers. Both of them are guilty of promoting NFT and memecoin garbage so they could dump on their dumb followers. They're both losers regardless of the outcome of this farcical fight.

Fury is supposed to be a "real" fighter so going the distance with a YouTuber in an underwhelming performance is really embarrassing. He is just trying to milk his last name and reality show fame to make some easy money and has already seemingly given up on trying to be a serious contender. I would say that he tarnished the family name but as we all know the Furys really love the spotlight and being the center attention is more important to them than having prestige.

Same here, it just pop on my social media, so I have to checked what's going on with the fight. And it was really a disgrace to see how the fight between Dillon and Logan ended. What the hell is Dannis thinking when he try to pull the choke hold on Paul?

And then he started to go to the corner after the bell rings and then try to swing on the body guard, and unfortunately, he didn't even hit him. So this is a garbage fight but unfortunately, there are fans that is willing to buy the ticket and so I don't expect them to bitch around and saying that they have been scammed. And that's why this kind of exhibitions fight are going to continue as long as there are fans willing to be scam by this so called social media influencer.
660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Stevenson vs De Los Santos - Nov 16 on: October 15, 2023, 02:10:04 AM
Another good card is added to this fight,  Emanuel Navarrete vs Robson Conceicao added to Shakur Stevenson card in November.

Just a couple of months ago, Navarette fought Oscar Valdez and beat him. So it's really surprising that he will have another fight in about 2 months against Robson. And as per odds right now, Conceicao is a huge underdog at 6:1.

And I do agree with the odds, Navarette is riding high on his conquest against the favorite Oscar Valdez and Valdez already beat Conceicao, although others says it's controversial. But with Navarette's volume punching, I think it will just be a matter of time before he landed that one big punch to put Robson in the canvass. Or it will be a dominating win by Navarette as the referee will seen enough and stop the fight.
