201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: ► ► ► NOW ACCEPTING ORDERS FOR LEALANA PHYSICAL SILVER LITECOINS! on: July 20, 2013, 10:09:03 PM
Someone need to put a coin up for sale on eBay so we can see how much the 1st batch pure silver coins can fetch. I would guess $200+ for sure.

Probably just standard retail considering they're still available (correct me if I'm wrong on that though).
You can only get 2, so I probably would order one with a slight premium if it was possible  Wink
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: prime coin mining- 3-5000pps, how long to get a block? on: July 20, 2013, 08:44:28 PM
6000pps here, no block since 17-07, started mining 16-07 and found 5 blocks the first 2 days, from than on nothing. So it's normal unfortunatly.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptsy down again? on: July 20, 2013, 07:40:03 PM
I moved all my coins to Cryptsy last night, they better be safe or I am seriously screwed Shocked
They are safe, Cryptsy went down for me the moment I was withdrawing.
When it came back on, everything was fine and I successfully got my coins out.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptsy down again? on: July 20, 2013, 07:35:22 PM
2,5 houres ago it started working again for me

205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: eMunie on: July 20, 2013, 07:33:11 PM
It is really a shame - it seems like a innovative currency and idea.  However, the key to a new currency is a clean launch.  It will be a disaster between the huge pre-mine snd the closed source.  Just a waste of time.

No this is only a key to a new currency in this community. And the idea here is to not market emunie to this community.  To think if this community doesnt accept it will fail is completely stupid and you think way to highly of yourself.
I think this community is probably the easiest one to adopt a new crypto currency, if even we don't adopt it, I really think it will be nearly impossible to get enough others on the ship of emunie.

But I don't know everything, I see alt-coins as a great thing for new ideas. I guess totally different marketing is also an idea, you guys have the luck average Joe doesn't care about open or closed source, sha-256, scrypt, primes, etc.
206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] The gold standard no premine on: July 20, 2013, 05:24:38 PM
If I remember it correct Coblee did the same with releasing Litecoin.
Comparing it to Satoshi isn't fair because Satoshi just couldn't do anything else, Bitcoin would be dead if he didn't mine it by himself.

But I got to say, start to become more and more positive about this coin, so I don't mean anything bad with it, it was a release like a release got to be. The fairest possible.
207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: eMunie on: July 20, 2013, 02:54:41 PM
Well I am for closed source at the beginning, I think its the only way to make it a success. Tough I do think that the code should be released to some trusted members of bitcointalk so they can ensure that there is nothing "bad" in the code.
What do you guys think would happen if it gets release open cource and three weeks later there are ten different "copy and paste" coins releases?Would that be good for any body?
I think something smiler has already happened once with  ppcoin, (I think) first coin to use POS. Now there are like four or more copycoins (BTG,BTB,CAP, etz.), none of which are a real success and ppcoin is also not doing to well...

http://coinmarketcap.com/

Look at the marketcap of PPcoin, where are the copycats standing? Behind it. That PPcoin isn't a big succes at the moment has nothing to do with copycats. If Sunny released it closed source, we wouldn't even mention it anymore.

Litecoin who has such a huge number of copycats that it isn't even countable, where is Litecoin standing? 2nd, the copycats doesn't seem to hurt it.
I think the closed source will hurt it much more, it just isn't wise to run a closed source currency. If you put a lot of money in the currency en the developer choose to stop the support or gets hit by a bus, no other developer can pick it up. It isn't decentralized, 1 or a few people control the code. Nobody knows if it is secure to run, could be a walletstealer for all we know...

If I where you guys, I would really rethink this idea.
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: eMunie on: July 20, 2013, 01:27:40 AM
It will be the first digital currency to have integrated decentralised exchange right inside the client. Dan (the developer) is currently working on first beta client to handle basic transactions, integrated exchange is scheduled to be released soon on second phase if I'm correct.
This seemed interesting.

But when I hear closed source, sorry deal breaker.
209  Local / Mining (Nederlands) / Re: Litecoin miners? on: July 19, 2013, 08:38:03 PM

Cool

A: Does not run native on Linux (requires wine). However, if people feel they should get the bounty, I'm cool with that. Smiley

So you want a little bit your way for a miner we already knew and didn't contribute anything too?  Undecided

Now that CPU mining for the average miner is dwindling, hopefully the community can start focusing some energy on getting more services! Would love to see an XPM marketplace soon.
This!. Outside of market trade there really isn't anything todo with the coin, Is there even gambling yet?

What does this mean in the debug.log?

Accepted what?

I've got a bad feeling based off your posts lately that you are trying to figure out how to make a fork of Primecoin. If I am right and it's a lame copy paste job with a couple of variables changed please don't bother.

You don't need to worry about me forking Primecoin, as I cannot even mine a Primecoin block let alone fork the client.

I just want to know why I can have just under 4000 PPS but not get a single block in 24 hours? And I wanted to know what it means when it says process block: Accepted?
Because difficulty is that high, I have 6000PPS and yesterday generated 3 blocks, today nothing, don't think it will get better.
People who rent VPS's, botnets and probably some gpu miners. That's the way to go if you want some decent profit, else you should see it as just for the fun of it.

Glad to hear that you're considering funding all coins even if a rare few may go astray, for large-ish orders you could always insure them for cost price so if that happened then there would be no monetary loss, or if not then just allow for the possibility of it happening & adjust the price a little to cover it afterwards if it ever happened.

Received my shipping notification Smiley maybe include also the USPS tracking URL with these: https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction!input.action

Mine, to Spain, just says: Delivery status information is not available for your item via this web site. A return receipt after mailing may be available through your local Post Office.

which is OK, maybe it's not in the system as yet, or doesn't show for international registered mail, with Casascius's shipping the tracking worked up until it got to NY or LA ports for international orders.
It works for me (to Belgium), they went from Honolulu to New York according to the tracker.
So it's not due to it being an international shipment, just a not so well functioning tracker. Seems to happen more so you don't have to worry about it.
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: ► ► ► NOW ACCEPTING ORDERS FOR LEALANA PHYSICAL SILVER LITECOINS! on: July 15, 2013, 11:54:46 PM
I think it is very important to clarify whether any coins could be sent out with a hologram on and yet end up not being funded.

If we have to rely on checking the public address, what is the point of having a tamper-proof hologram?

The cost of funding a coin that may have been lost or stolen in the post is worth the benefit of having a whole circulation of coins that are guaranteed to be funded.

So far a package has not gotten stolen or lost. It's guaranteed to arrive for the most part being sent via registered mail.

The idea is to fund all coins but if a package never gets to the original buyer from me then there is no point in funding the coins.

So far mike has not had a package lost or stolen reported and never turned up at his address or the buyer's.

I suppose I could fund stolen coins but does that make any sense?

Curious on your folks' input.

well if it's pretty much guaranteed to arrive then the flipside argument would be then why not fund them before you ship if you have nothing to lose?

i'm just saying that it's probably more worth it to you to have all your customers assured that an intact hologram means what it's supposed to mean; a loaded coin.  the small losses due to theft is miniscule.

this is the fungibility argument that is so important to any BTC or LTC whether it be physical or virtual.

IMO this is really important.
Imagine one customer buying the stoled coins and after realizing they don't have litecoins inside :/
So you would buy one of these after a report of a stolen coin without looking up if the one offered is funded?  Undecided

Casascius did (don't know now) this with the international shipped coins also, I needed to confirm if I received mine and than they got funded.
Am I the only one who actually prefers this? In case of my coins getting lost I can still recover the LTC's. If they get stolen funded, I lose the coins and the LTC's.

ow OK, than it's totally fine of course, you wouldn't kill them. Just rob them from their freedom till... when? They are cured or something? xD
So locking up people that didn't harm anyone is OK because your imaginary friend says so. Glad the true Islam is such a loving religion.

Ahmed_bodi, welcome in 2013, we already have some new books, I think you have some catching up to do.

Gosh you guys are brainwashed like hell by your governments against Muslims. Do you guys even now about your own religion. What you guys just know is to talk against Islam.
What I know about my own religion? You know I'm an Atheist right?
And brainwashed by my government? I live in a pretty pro Islam country. My tax money is even used to support it.
