1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pros and cons of using new Bitcoin addresses for each transaction? on: October 02, 2012, 02:34:46 AM
Pros:
  • Secure
  • Higher Anonymity
Cons:
  • Can be time consuming

Several of my clients prefer that I use a new address per transaction. It can be a little more time consuming, but it does improve anonymity.

I like to have an active hot wallet with a set amount of BTC that I plan to move during a given week. I also keep secured cold storage wallets for some of my clients who invest BTC with me. I feel cold storage is a much more secure option, especially if you have the proper environment (safe, camera monitoring, etc.),
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What got you hooked on Bitcoin? on: October 02, 2012, 02:19:02 AM
I'm just curious, what is your reason for using Bitcoin? Personally, I fell in love with BTC almost a year ago because I saw great possibilities for investment opportunites and portfolio diversification. I also like the idea of a decentralized currency as it allows for more economic freedom without government interference.

With Bitcoin, anything is possible!  Cool
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: With pirate gone... BTC gonna crash? on: October 02, 2012, 02:11:35 AM
Doubt it.. BTC justrecently received a futures market, and that will provide some stability for some time to come. Also, more and more businesses are getting involved with Bitcoin, and new coins are being minted all the time and are being actively traded.
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best Paypal -> BTC method? on: September 15, 2012, 10:46:36 PM
Never try to use PayPal for any Bitcoin transactions, they never side with the BTC owner, even if you offer them tangible proof. There are much safer methods out there for a reason!
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much money have you spent on Bitcoin? on: September 15, 2012, 07:22:12 PM
Only about $150, but I did mine a bunch of coins previously.

I always used to select PPS on Deepbit. It was always the idea payout option for me.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: September 15, 2012, 06:25:25 PM
I would love to be whitelisted!

My name is Peter, and I'm a longtime lurker here as well as a Bitcoin enthusiast. I really want to post some questions that I have in a few forum sections, and would prefer to not be whitelisted. I have mining experience but I stopped when the profitability of mining began to decline for me.
