2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What's your bitcoin pizza moment? on: May 09, 2021, 08:07:45 PM
I just realized that my 50 BTC donation to the forum is now worth $2.9 million. Wow! Never in my life have I expected it to be that big.

This is the most obvious 'bitcoin pizza' moment for me. What's your bitcoin pizza moment? Anything crazy you want to share?

Here's to another 10 years of HODL'ing Smiley
3  Economy / Securities / Re: 📈 NastyFans: The Bitcoin Enthusiast Fan Club (est. 2012) on: April 26, 2021, 05:51:28 AM
The way I'm criticized for my involvement with NastyFans, I have to wonder...  Do you guys want me to just stop mining on behalf of NastyFans?  What is your goal with these attacks?  Do you want me to stop spending my time trying to raise funds for seats and move on to other projects where I'm more appreciated?  I've already made a nearly million dollar buyback offer for anyone who wants to cash in their seats at a massive profit to their issued price.  It seems like people commenting here want to push false narratives and spread lies about me and NastyFans.  What is the goal?  Is that goal for your own petty revenge because you blame Bitcoin vendors for accepting your BTC and keeping you from getting rich, or are you trying to help NastyFans members grow this organization like they got involved to do?  Maybe if I understood the motivations behind these attacks, I could help you get some sort of satisfaction other than knowing you helped me buy back a ton of seats at well below their fair value.  If there's a better way to unlock value for NastyFans members than I have been doing without expecting things from me you wouldn't expect from all NastyFans members, I'd love to hear it.

People are out to troll and I don't understand it. NastyFans / Nasty Mining has delivered exactly what it promised, which is a mining co-operative with some fun things like seats. It certainly performed far less than how bitcoin itself has, but that's the reality for nearly everything.

I have a few seats but I am happy with them, and I hope everything continues.

Speaking as a small BaB investor here.

Devans, could you please cap the commission to a max of ~95%?

It wouldnít be good if investing in the bankroll ever turned into a -EV proposition. I donít think thatís what any investor signed up for, and the reality of the 2% nonrefundable investment fee means that new investors, and re-investors, must make long term considerations when they invest.

Furthermore, while I do have strong trust in you, a commission structure like this technically isnít ďprovably fairĒ in in spirit, as the commission is paid to _you_, and nothing stops _you_ from investing. So letís say it gets to a point where you own 55M XDR of Bitcoin. You could deposit it, force the commission rate to be >100%, and make _every other investor have negative EV_.

I think capping the max commission to 95% will achieve what you want, but also provide certainty to investors that they will always still be investors and wonít face the possibility of entering into a -EV trade.

Managing thousands of bitcoins is a serious liability; not an asset, especially as the price of bitcoin goes up.

Thanks for thinking of minted seat owners; love the idea of minted winners getting proceeds split by minted seats only.
7  Economy / Securities / Re: 📈 NastyFans: The Bitcoin Enthusiast Fan Club (est. 2012) on: January 03, 2021, 03:01:13 AM
Thanks for distributions for 8 straight years. Mad respect.

are you still paying back people all the lost funds from your "venture"?
Not to take this thread too off topic, but I have paid back nearly everyone who reached out during the reimbursement period. As thereís a fixed amount of BTC and that gets divided up amongst claims, it should be no surprise that itís no longer possible to pay people back after paying all of the BTC.

ó

As a small seat and coin holder I would love to see the funds spent on more distribution-generating activities. There is something nice about seeing your coins stack more satoshis, and I hope that continues in meaningful ways (especially considering UXTO dust).

More mining hardware is definitely one way. It would be nice to also ensure any energy spent is carbon neutral or green. Something else thatís interesting is Ethereum staking, but I donít like how itís disconnected from BTC and Nasty has always been about Bitcoin to me.
8  Other / Meta / Re: Get Donator status by donating 10 BTC on: January 02, 2021, 07:06:31 PM
I still lurk here every now and then!

Itís hard to be active though. The forum is such a shell of what it once was. Back in the good old days, I used to learn something new every few posts or so, and I had an interest in reading (if only the title) every single thread on the forum. Some of the drama was even amusing.

I decided to change my name and use my custom title though. My donation is approx $1.6 million USD now, might as well as make use of it a little bit Tongue

Happy new year. What a wonderful day and year to be alive as bitcoiners.

Iíll make a price prediction for this peak: $127,300.

Also, with the vaccine, I hope we can put this stupid corona virus behind us, and enjoy life for all it has to offer.

Donít download that crap from the last post. Itís likely malware.
12  Other / Off-topic / Ultrawide monitors: 21:9 or 32:9? on: January 02, 2021, 06:37:01 PM
Iím in the market for an ultrawide monitor and canít decide between 21:9 or 32:9. I havenít really used either in person so I donít have any preferences, as Iím stuck on the standard 16:9 now.

For 50% productivity, 30% gaming and 20% movies/videos, which aspect ratio would you recommend?

14  Economy / Lending / Re: ✳️CoinLenders/Inputs.io depositors: Reimbursements CLOSED on: January 02, 2021, 06:23:51 PM
A number of people have emailed me asking whether the reimbursement program is still open.

I am replying to clarify that the program is closed and no funds are available. Sorry.

Please do not reach out to me about this program.

I miss Havelock.
19  Economy / Securities / Re: ⚡️ HedgeFX Trading & Investments ⚡️ on: May 29, 2019, 01:32:50 PM
Absolutely fucking retarded, if you have worked for many years trading derivatives for a bank, you won't be offering shitty unregistered illegal investment offerings that are guaranteed to lose people money in the long run.

Introducing the ScamFX HedgeFX Enhanced Return Swap:

I'll offer 110% of the net returns that HedgeFX makes as verified by an independent third party. If HedgeFX runs off with your money (which will happen) then this is null and void.

Oh, Iíve turned into an occasional lurker. If I keep posting here Iím just going to get banned for no reason. Besides, this place isnít nearly as funny as it was when I first came here in 2011.

For those new here, here's the link to the funnest thread on this forum from back in the day: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=45298.0 (the part that was deleted can be found here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=45298.msg540198#msg540198 - thanks to Rassah quoting it; spoiler alert: Rassah is the person with the "perverted" coffee table, of which I've seen first-hand upon visiting him in Baltimore).

I miss PinkiePie... ah, so many forum characters.
