1st. problem :

the fee taken from me for btc withdrawal was 0.0038. and on the block chain the fee was only 0.0009692 . If you wouldeve send even that much amount of fee on the blockchain, I wouldnt have said anything, but you guyz are  fooling people.

2nd problem:
today i called zebpay , a guy name "Sangam Patel" fucking bastard to save his ass , he didnt connect my phone to his supervisor , he just kept repeating "what you want to know from supervisor" " supervisor will give the same info i am giving"  atleast 50 times for 25 minutes, but didnt connect me to the supervisor. wow what a company , what a guy, this guy deserves to be fired on spot. believe your customers will go down if you hire people like this.

IMPROVE YOURSELVES AND DO HONEST BUSINESS , AS OTHER EXCHANGES DO.

WORST EVER EXCHANGE OF THE WHOLE WORLD. SINCE BTC IS UNREGULATED I WAS NOT ABLE TO GO THE AUTHORITIES OR I WOULDEVE BANGED YOULL AND IN FUTURE SOMEONE WILL FOR SURE.

SHUT DOWN YOUR SHITTY FAKE EXCHANGE
Hi karan1498
Please accept our sincere apologies on issue you have faced. We will look into customer support issue.

As far as fees concerns, this is very complicated structure as we manage hot wallet with minimum possible amount to reduce security risk. On your transaction you might have seen less fees because at your time we my be able to find confirmed spendable input on hot wallet and it was used to process your transaction. It is next to impossible for us to predict the fees nowdays for any level of tx, so we overpay. In case bitcoin network moves to new fees territory, we have to double spend tx and relay it again for user, costing double transaction charges. On top of that we receive lots of small, medium transactions  and consolidate them on daily basis to send to hardware wallets and move coins in between wallets to give you smooth hot wallet experience.

Every exchange, hot wallet on this planet is paying fees from its own pocket at the moment. We do not make any money on send transactions, in fact most of the time we bare the charges.

There are lots of cases ( most of the time higher number of cases ) where we pay higher fees then we charge. But this is ground reality and there is no solution to it at the moment.

I really wish I have better answer, but this is what it is. In any case I will apologize as a CTO of this company and let me assure you we are working very hard to improve this.

Mahin

So , yesterday I made a sell order on zebpay and requested for withdraw of the money. The next day the money got withdrawn from zebpay and they withdraw via imps which should instantly reach my bank account as soon as they have sent it. I got their mail and msg saying the withdrwal has been processed. I phoned them and they told me to wait for one working day. What to do? Do you guyz have experienced late money reaches to your bank after their payout message? Im getting worried now, because imps has to be instant.

Hi karan1498

We do not process payments via IMPS as it creates lot of failed payments. We process it using NEFT . You should get funds in couple of hours normally and max 1 working day after you receive message. Please feel free to send me your ticket number in case you do not receive it and I will have someone to look into it.

So, after today, will ZebPay users be able to withdraw INR from their wallet?

Can ZebPay users on this forum please confirm this part? Are u guys able to withdraw INR from ZebPay wallet to your bank account as usual or not?

Transfer to bank button working properly. Tried cashing out a small amount and it got processed in zebpay app, let's see when it comes to my bank account. Will update soon.

You should receive funds normally. Our all operations are normal. This is very old investigation and in fact we helped authorities, and as a result BOM also, to recover funds. Not sure why BOM is making such arguments. In any case, I personally believe this is growing pain for any new infrastructure level disruptive tech. But we have learnt a lot in this process and we are working very hard to make sure we create a business model and processes that authorities will look up to when they make regulations for digital assets.

6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Need help from Indian bitcoiners: Sign the petition to announce bitcoin as legal on: March 30, 2017, 10:41:01 AM
Pretty interesting concept but I don't think that this will do anything towards getting Bitcoin legalized. The customers that pay for goods and use Bitcoin while doing so don't really need to have a Government saying that Bitcoin is legal or not. Plus with the rates of most exchanges, it's pretty expensive to purchase Bitcoin.
Bitcoins could get used by many people without the need of the petition being signed, this looks like a subliminal Bitcoin census and I am against that.

One of the problem with regulators is that they sometimes do not know how many legit users and normal people are using it. This may help them to find that. We can try, thats what we can do.

Got email from zebpay and now they have increased the minimum amount to deposit from 1000 to 5000 INR.
Although one can buy btc for 1000 INR also but if he still have to deposit minimum 5k INR.Ridiculous.
Zebpay will kill itself.

Hi zahra4577
Thanks  for sharing your concerns. Yes I agree its tough move, but there is a reason behind it. At the moment we have got huge number of new users in last couple of months. While we were able to scale tech and trading without much issues, we struggled to scale our deposit processing and customer support. Deposit processing is manual process for us as of now so increasing deposit amount will reduce number of transactions to process a bit and may be will help us to improve per deposit response time. Buy and sell is automated process so we can still allow 1000 Rs there. Also just fyi, there is no minimum amount in withdrawal.
All I can say is we are agile and working very hard to improve our processes. We may not be perfect at the moment but we are learning, scaling and improving day by day. Feedback from users is always welcome and we really appreciate it.

Cons:

Highest fees

Mobile restricted.

Low volume

Hi,

Really appreciate your time to evaluate bitcoin exchange platforms in India and thanks for sharing your concerns about Zebpay.

I will try to answer few concerns
Highest fees
- We do not charge any separate fees. Our fees are included in spread. We have to understand that we offer same published spot rate for amounts up to 10 lacs INR, which is apprx 11 BTC at the moment. If you will try to buy same amount from any exchange it will cost you a lot more then last trade rate or current ask rate. Also you never need to wait fro other sellers to wait as we are taking care of liquidity.

Mobile restricted
- We have intentionally focused on mobile first as we believe it is better suitable for our business model and wallet. Adding web version will open another platform for us to support which requires lot of efforts to make it secure and scalable. We would rather concentrate on current platforms and scale our back end operations. But we understand this concern and it is on our road map.

Low volume

Honestly, we are lagging a lot on customer support due to huge number of users we got in last few months ( 500k at the moment ) and we are working really hard to improve that.

10  Economy / Speculation / Re: Again Indian markets are leading. India buying bitcoins for ~$1500 on: March 07, 2017, 02:31:59 PM
the most interesting part of this higher price to me is the accompanied high volume. i could have expected a lower volume with much higher price but it seems like the demand coming from India is so much more than we could have expected.

it seems like Indians are going to be the new Chinese.

If a user is found repeatedly using third party account to transfer funds, then we charge it.
How do u find whether an user is doing NEFT from his/her verified bank account or some other third party account? NEFT details does NOT include sending bank account details. U get only the reference no.

If it comes to our notice, we will not accept that payment. Most of the banks provide topup product, special accounts where you can receive more details about transaction.

Mahin

Great... but how do u make sure that the verified bank account is really verified? I mean to say, how do u ensure that the owner of the bank account is the same person indicated in the ID proofs provided?
As already explained, on special bank accounts  ( and in some banks, you have to buy it as top up product ) you get lot more details about transaction which includes sender details.

But again this is on best effort basis. If we find you are using third party accounts to transfer, we will not accept that payment.

I hope I was able to answer your concerns.

I thought I should update here. They did not charge me the fee like they had mentioned in the automated email, and Zebpay support clarified to me that they have the system in place to curb abuse.

Anyway, if they do charge this fee to anyone else, they should have it mentioned clearly at the time of giving bank details inside the app.

Hi tu-co

Thanks for update. I am not sure why you have not received email immediately. May be some issue at tech side. I hope yur issue was resolved. I will really appreciate if you can update OP with this update.

This is the main reason of not using zebpay or coinsecure as they are not legit exchanges and they bend their rules as and when they like and they also dont give full details on clear,

They are very much legit site. Why do you say so that they are not? Also as far as known they do not make any changes on random basis yet and charge as per what they like. They have a standard rates and functionalities on which its based on.

Yes they are legit but zebpay charge high fee for their services.
I placed sell order for 0.29 btc and they charged 40 rs just for placing order.
I understand fees are necessary for running their services but charging fee even before actual sell is not fair.
Hi
This is Mahin here from Zebpay. Please accept our sincere apologies if there was any inconvenience to you.

Zebpay DOES NOT CHARGE ANY FEES for placing order. Please PM me your registered mobile number and order id and I will look into it immediately.

Also on almost all cases, Zebpay does not charge fees for refunding payments. If a user is found repeatedly using third party account to transfer funds, then we charge it. Also sometimes few users try to abuse system. As a responsible exchange we can not allow our accounts to be misused. Also such transfers and refunds are time consuming in terms of compliance and processing and eventually they slow down overall support and order processing. To discourage such behaviors we have this provision.

Please feel free to get back to me in case you have any questions or concerns.

Mahin

If somebody want to buy BTC on sunday how does one do it? Is it possible to deposit the amount on sunday since zebpay remain closed? Is it in pipeline on having something autodeposit so that its 24/7 it works?

Zebpay works now 365 days. So yes your deposit should get processed on Sunday. We are working on to get support on for 24*7 but it has its own operational challenges. We should be able to get that in next couple of months.

I usually  recharge from zebpay.great service but plz improve the deposit /transition speed.and plz do add the water/electricity bill payment option.
till now best btc app in india, great work.

Just wanted to say Zebpay is a great bitcoin app and has progressed really well over the year. I'm glad we, as in Indians, could develop an app like this for bitcoin, otherwise I see very little Indian contribution to the cryptocurrency world. (If there is, I am now aware of it.)

Thanks Smiley Really appreciate feedback and support.

Does any one have an idea how many BitCoin users are there in India ?

I think its important to have basic data so that we can get a clear picture about its adoption and rate of growth.

You will not know exact number of users in India as there is no standard site available where users need to registered if they would like to trade in bitcoin. But yes you can ask exchanges in India about total number of users registered with them. But it will just give you a very fair idea and not even a close numbers to actual users.

Even a rough range will give us lot of information. Like less than 50000 users .. Or between 50000 and 1 Lakh users .. I don't think its more than 1 lakh users.

Zebpay has over 300k users.

Regards

How many of them are from India?

My estimate would be about 400-500k users in India and easily adding up 20-30k new users every month.

Most of them are from India.

lel As if they ever answer the call, just a recorded message saying try later there are too many calls as of now.

Dear MrMerchant
In case you have faced any issues at Zebpay, please accept our sincere apologies. We are experiencing unprecedented demand and acceptance from Indian users and honestly we have backlog on support tickets and KYC. We are working round the clock to clear backlog. We are not perfect but we are learning, evolving, scaling and working very hard to give you best experience with bitcoin. I am sure we will be able to serve you better in nearest future. Do give us chance, and stay tuned for exciting things we are going to release next.

We are working on new ways to improve support channels and experience as we have learned that its nearly impossible to provide phone support to all customers which includes routine and general calls to understand what is bitcoin, is it legal, how pricing works etc. We are working on solution where existing customers having account or ticket number get access to human agent faster. I am sure we will be able to resolve phone support issues in next couple of months.

Really appreciate feedback and support.

Is this still active, my email invite doesn't work.

I would also like to join this, but would wait for a reply to the question above.
I have a question too, that if I join here, can I discuss some trades too like I want to buy/sell ... amount of bitcoins at ..... price?
Is it allowed there? Or are we only allowed to discuss that what is bitcoin and its development part? Is there everything that we can find here on this forum?

It is active with 500+  members. Let me know if you need any help with subscribing.
