I am not very technical I try to help the dev out he is introducing gravity well into mooncoin and he says he doesn't know how to compile the mac wallet, it needs to be updated apparently. I didn't know there was a wallet already tbh. but anybody here probably knows what he needs. I did mention to dev I found this blog specifically dedicated to osx, but maybe I totally misunderstood. Is it correct that the wallet needs to be changed in order for gravity well to work?

I am really, really trying to compile the Windows Qt wallet myself... I've got Qt 4.8.5 compiling right now.

The new headless mooncoind.exe for Windows and Linux compiles clean.

I have an OSX VMware image but I'll be damned if I know where to begin with that thing...

Ok there might well be something wrong but until there is proof as to whether this is malware etc please refrain from accusing anyone. Also it is probably better to start a post under mooncointalk.info so you can see who else has been duped and people can go there as there are more, then you could form a group and try to get to the bottom of this. Just don't accuse anyone yet and work this out through the process of elimination.

Great day for Moon this will bring Moon in the spotlights once again. Whatever happens shortterm remember we are only 1 month old and some great projects are on the way! This will be a staged rocket to the Moon!

I fully understand how painful the above is, I have been in a similar situation. However at the moment from what I have been reading at different blogs it will be very difficult to track down where your Mooncoins have gone. I will search the internet on any solutions and make sure you pm the dev. Also file a criminal report, if you live in the UK there is a online fraud website where u can report the fraud.

Also check the IRC chat and see if anyone can help you there. I am not very technical but please don't feel we don't want to help.
Some of the reactions you get come from the fact that there were a lot of people badmouthing mooncoin for being a scam because of this virus whereas this is not the case. The wallet has no virus.
Your computer is most likely infected with malware and in effect has little to do with mooncoin itself we are not responsible for that.

I got scammed over 5 BTC but BTC as a coin is not responsible for that. It's a criminal offence and really if you do find out where the money has gone you will still need to contact the police to retrieve it. There are i am sure guys around who are smart enough to trace the transaction down. Maybe someone here has experience with that?

Also it is great that Doge guys are trying to help they are a great bunch of people as well, but getting back 100 bucks isn't the solution of your problem unless they are going beyond themselves and cough up your losses. We need someone who is able to trace or is in a position to say that tracking is absolutely impossible so that you have closure. Hopefully the dev can mention something about this.

I like your thinking here. At the moment as this currency is very young, I think we need to however find a project people are willing to help with. Right now I doubt there are any chinese interested in funding a space related project that is going to be spent in any other country than China. So unless we can get huge parties involved that are particulary interested in science projects I think we are probably better off starting a project that everyone feels good with. Maybe at a later stage when we get some spaceagencies involved and more recognition (working on that) we might be able to support bigger projects and indeed function as a stock for spaceprojects etc. , but we have to start somewhere.
What you are mentioning about projects being subsidised without a set of rules to follow is indeed very interesting and we have to keep that one in mind.

On another note, if you do see scope in such thing working I would really like to hear how you would setup and why you think the cryptocommunity will jump on a spacerelated project at this stage.

My point is we need to see something good happen that is done by the mooncoin community showing our goodwill. This can be done by finalising a smaller project and showing the results of the outcome of being part of the mooncoin community. By helping people we could feel proud of our community and we can build from there. As a future prospect I like to see mooncoin grow as a coin that helps people to the moon and with that we could also support space projects along the way. Or vice versa.

It is just my view I am open for any suggestions and as a community we will slowly head towards a certain direction. Let me just say I already have a good vibe with this community

Dev is working on gravity well, updates soon. New website is close to being finished with different languages. More promotion needed in countries like China and more goodwill required to start fundraisers/ charity.

Using theories on crypto coins is great but it doesn't work very well. Those who sold at the right time comeout as feeling smart/ holders could be feeling they made a mistake. But this is all shortterm. Longterm the opposite can still be true. Those who made 100k could have made a Mill and those who are now at a loss holding could gain more then those who sold. All depends if you are able to wait long enough.
Ofcourse you can take your losses now in fear of things getting worse but statistically in cryptos you are generally better off holding as right now Moon is simply cheap.

I guess all what is known is that there are people having in between 1 mooncoin and massives amount of mooncoins. There are those who have profited massively and some a little. The rest are holding hoping for a rise or considering to sell at a massive loss.
the profiteers might reinvest or not
sell walls can be removed or could stay.
new money could be flowing in or not.
manipulation could be going on or not.
there might come some media attention or not

There are a lot more variables, now try to guess what is going on here and make a decision and think about how even certain coins are still sticking around even though the creator is a well known scammer and has done people for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Not to mention the massively premined other altcoins that have had massive amounts of money influx. And were branded a big scam.

All we can do is make Mooncoin worth investing in not purely for its shortterm potential but also for its longterm potentail as a crypto coin. We only exist a month. The advantage of joining us is that you will be part of a coin that could go to great highs and is working on some great projects. There will soon be an update of the website, follow us on here or @twitter, or join us with your ideas. We are currently working on promoting Mooncoin and we seek others that are interested to promote this coin.

I personally think that mooncoins rise will happen shortterm anyway, purely on the basis that most top 50 coins have been growing whether junk or potential but to go for long term success we need to work hard at mooncoin and that is what we are doing.

I don't think Mooncoin is just like any other coin for reasons stated earlier. Nobody is saying go only for mooncoin. Just be aware that you can also burn your hands on investing in new coins that may or may not be added to the bigger exchanges. Unless you mine or buy them from the very beginning.

Asking the question what you can buy with any alt at this stage is not going to give you an answer as to whether it is a good investment.
When doge was 25 and u asked yourself that same question and decided to not invest because of not being able to buy goods........ is what I am getting at.
All I can say is moon is cheap and as a community we are working hard to make it a count! Just keep following this thread and maybe you change your mind.

But please refrain from biased negativity there is enough of that in the world already. If you don't want to take part in Mooncoin there is no need to slack it off as being dead. As far as I am aware I still have a pulse and so has the rest of the community here. The Dev is working on adding Gravity Well, so don't mention that the dev is not doing anything. I do agree we need more posts coming from him, but he has medical issues to deal with as well....

For those who think this coin is dead, on the contrary this is still a very active community and we are just at the start of mooncoin, yes the first rocket launched and kinda lost momentum around 39 (fuel leak) now we are at 10 fixing this leak waiting for the weather to clear up to launch this rocket again. Lets not forget that people were willing to pay well above 30 satoshi for mooncoin. In cryptoland you need patience and then reap the rewards.

Let's face it, every coin right now is pure speculation and nobody knows what will happen over years to come.
Some of the alt coins that have become ever so popular and that are quite expensive right now only have access to a few companies and correct me if I am wrong less than 1% buys goods using these coins.

So that being said from a logical standpoint I rather invest in a cheapcoin with big potential then paying into an existing coin that has already possibly topped out. If you think those altcoins are more likely to rise 2x/3x or more at their current price don't buy into Mooncoin I can't guarantee Mooncoin will but from a game of numbers alone Mooncoin from my point of view is a no-brainer. And yes I am also saying this for my own benefit.

A couple of facts in non-logical order that might give an idea why this coin has great lift off value.

1) It is in the top 23 of marketcaps and has the cheapest price with a potential to at least quadrupple up if not more
2) Has a cool name
3) generous community
4) fundraiser project (raising money to send kids to spacecamp to have a lifechanging experience) this is only the start we will be doing greater things in the future I am sure. As we will slowly become a coin that is not just about going to the moon, but about helping others on the way to it.... 384000 km is a long way, so there is lots of space to help other people.
5) The dev has had several operations on his back but is working this weekend on the difficulty issue of mining mooncoin implementing Well.
6) We are trying to get in touch with space agencies to see what they could mean for us and what we can mean for them in way of fundraising and promoting this coin.
7) We are searching for people who want to help create a paymentprocessor

U seem to suggest that this coin has no chance but you are not painting a full picture. So if u are posting for the benefits of others could u try harder to explain why this coin could not be changed to solve this difficulty issue as I think this could be solved by the dev.

I am trying to get in touch with the professor, jepistons will get in touch with the space camp directors to see if they are willing to setup a moonwallet for the fundraiser.

This way it is clear the money goes to a trustworthy person. It would also help that they put the mooncoin fundraiser address on their website as this will guarantee they are supporting mooncoin and there can be no doubt that the address is owned by spacecamp directors.
