1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: October 21, 2018, 07:14:35 AM
I keep on V8 but the hash drop from 5150k to 3700k
From claymore to xmr stack. But even with 3700k the stats show i make more xmrThat when i have Higher hash. Lets see Next couple days.
I Will have to perform dual threath if i want more hash.
Power its arround the same now but with a lot less hash.
Measure on wall.
I like project like graft and Stellite so lets see.

Do you use the R9 290/390 or other cards?

I use the 390, with XMR stak.

The core/mem is 830/1000MHz. I found there is no difference between 1000 and 1250MHz in the memory clock.

The hash rate is about 600H/s. In order to achieve that speed, I have to change the "worksize" : to 16, let it run a while (hash rate is about 570H/s), then stop the miner and  change it to 8.

I only run them using 1 thread.

"gpu_threads_conf" : [
  // gpu: Hawaii memory:3920
  // compute units: 40
  { "index" : 0,
    "intensity" : 1280, "worksize" : 8,
    "affine_to_cpu" : false, "strided_index" : 2, "mem_chunk" : 2,
    "unroll" : 8, "comp_mode" : true
  },
  // gpu: Hawaii memory:3920
  // compute units: 40
  { "index" : 1,
    "intensity" : 1280, "worksize" : 8,
    "affine_to_cpu" : false, "strided_index" : 2, "mem_chunk" : 2,
    "unroll" : 8, "comp_mode" : true
  },
  // gpu: Hawaii memory:3920

    "intensity" : 1280, "worksize" : 8,
    "affine_to_cpu" : false, "strided_index" : 2, "mem_chunk" : 2,
    "unroll" : 8, "comp_mode" : true
  },

  // gpu: Hawaii memory:3920

    "unroll" : 8, "comp_mode" : false
  },

No, i have 6 RX 570 4gb with BIOS mod for etherium.
Simplemining OS and nanopool pool.
My hash its arround 600H/s this morning for each card. Total 3575H/s arround this. However in nanopool says Higher hash on stats dont know why. Arround 4200H/s
Never drop from 4000H/s since fork on stats on nanopool.

What is the power usage for the around 4k hash rate? Is that higher than V7?

The platform is rock solid. It's one of the most feature complete platforms around. Price on an exchange doesn't change that.

The price will recover eventually.

Why first accepted share (in green) is always number 10? Never seen any lower numbers.

We start counting shares at 10, so the first accepted share is always number 10. When we used standard stratum protocol, it came in handy because we could use lower numbers (0-9) for other custom messages between server and miner. Now with our custom protocol we could start counting at 0 but I guess we got used to counting from 10 Smiley

So the 10 equals to 1 share?

I got one question. Since there is no mining, how can someone earn tokens easily?

I got some through my BTC holding.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: May 20, 2018, 03:47:20 PM

FYI - My groups's AMD farm is mining XMR and CN7 with Claymore's XMR miner v11.3 - thanks to Claymore, since v11.3 the miner is completely free and has no developer fee.

For the time being, is it more profitable to mine the ETH than the XMR? I have a few 7970, I mine the ZEC. I have R9 390, mine the ETH.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: April 25, 2018, 07:40:29 PM
Where I can find announcement channel? For example telegram or mailing list, because it's hard to follow the bitcointalk thread.
yep, this thread is completely corrupted because of the retards like you with silly questions in order to meet the requirements of their signature campaigns.

Maybe we should make this thread more moderateable.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASIC or GPU mining? on: April 13, 2018, 08:18:14 AM
I believe asics are more risky cuz if something goes wrong you can always sell your GPUs but not asics. I would go with GPUs

That is right. It is better to get GPU to mine.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: April 08, 2018, 12:04:50 PM
I'm looking for GPUs. Of course, prices are still ridiculous.

If they drop a bit more, I might buy 8 x MSI 1070 Seahawks.

Anyone have any experience with this GPU?

The GPU price is still high, and not much available.

The main problem is that the ASIC will drive the GPU mining the ETH to other GPU PoW. So the profitability is not very sustainable.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to maximize profit with 8 GTX 1080s? on: March 14, 2018, 09:39:34 AM
Hi,
I am new to mining and I am currently using Awesome miner with miningpoolhub. I am getting only 12$/day with my 8 GTX 1080s after overclocking the GPUs. Can anyone suggest which miner and mining pool combination should I use so as to maximize my profit? Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks

With 1080s, I would recommend ETH, and I personally use Nanopool.

On AM are you profit switching? Or single mining an Algo?

What is your hashrates?

Do you do that yourself? I mine ZEC with 1080.

BTC B250C 12 GPU USB3.0-PCIE MOTHERBOARD

I have been talking to the guy about it, he informed me that it needs external power plugged in for more than 1 card to boot, also that 12 cards running that 6 pin power plug runs pretty warm. lastly the usb connections a very weak and loose, he has contacted the manufacture about the extremely loose usb connections.

So anti riser stance  seems to  wind over this board.

Shame as it looks nice.

Frankly  I see gpu mining taking a big hit due to  gear like the 16 gpu unit  I am mining.

My test unit has the

 p106-100

but the p104-100 and the p102-100   are coming

You can order  the 16 unit  with 16 p104-100   which are  1070 equals  set to 100% tdp it does  8000 sols at 2900 watts

but just clock  to 110  watts a card vs 150 watts a card  it will do 7000 sols  at about 2200 watts. it will have the 3 psu in a back plane setup.

at the moment they want 50 moq  at 11k  = 550,000 usd    this is out of my league.   I could order 2 or 3 maybe 4 of them.

I think  they are going to try to squeeze us out of the gpu mining game here.

50 per order is for big farms. For us, I will still use the 6 GPU boards until they die and buy 12GPU boards later.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: excavator by NiceHash - multi-algorithm NVIDIA GPU miner [1.4.4a] on: February 22, 2018, 09:00:41 AM
I want to say that I got around 710 with DSTM.  I pretty much try them all as they release new versions.  I end up sticking with Excavator due to better hash and no fees.  I also get better hash with lyra2rev2.  I run 3 workers with it.

Do you mean for your GPU, the excavator is faster than DSTM? How about the power consumption?
12  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-02-02] Report: Bank of America, JP Morgan Ban Credit Crypto Purchases on: February 03, 2018, 08:59:47 PM
I think a person should decide how to manage money.

If the person buys the coins with borrowed money, he would lose a lot in the recent situations.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.6 (Windows/Linux) on: January 27, 2018, 10:10:29 AM
"You enabled full remote management, but didn't  set -mspw..." What's this error? i didn't change anything on my end and it started when I updated thw minee.

I'm getting this too, but I ended up just adding the following: -mpsw password

Not the actual word password, but a password. I was getting this too until I added that Parameter. Now I get a different issue below:

--

However, I'm getting an issue now, and it's "Srv: No password found in request. Remote IP: 127.0.0.1" -- using SimpleMining OS w/Ethermine Pool and ClayMore ETH 10.6. However, everything seems to be running but I'm getting a:

"Srv: no password found in request. Remote IP: 127.0.0.1"

Here is the command I'm running in SimpleMining: -wd 1 -r 1 -epool us2.ethermine.org:4444 -ewal WALLETHERE -epsw x -mpsw PASSWORDHERE -mport 127.0.0.1:3333

The -mport with 127.0.0.1 was recommended by SimpleMinign due to some botnet or something along those lines. What am I doing wrong?
See: https://i.gyazo.com/35eddc49b26e7e942101976edf6d6556.png

Any help is super appreciated!

Okay, for the -mport u need to use just the port i think like -mport 3333 ( it is default )

i have not used simplemining but if you send a link when its mentioned about this botnet or something like u say then maybe i can help.

the ip you using is the local one and not the one you can use to remote access the server i think.

Here is a copy of it:

Hello guys again Smiley
Some another security advice worth to read !
Recently more and more botnets are sniffing for claymore API port forwarded on routers in whole internet.
Even when claymore api port is in read-only state it seems that bots still can change mining pool and wallet if port for API(ethman) is forwarded outside.
If you are using claymore miners then i advice to replace -mport -3333 by -mport 127.0.0.1:3333
If you dont have -mport specified in your config then i advice to add this as without it - it will act like -mport -3333 by default !
This way claymore API will be available only at localhost (for stats reading that are sent to dashboard) and not on your LAN IP address.
I changed all default configs to that setting so if you are not sure just look at those examples.
Also please remember not to forward 22 port. If you forward 22 port then botnets will find you in mater of hours i guess.

Here are some articles:
https://cryptovest.com/news/major-botnet-resurfaces-to-pounce-on-claymore-mining-rigs/
https://www.reddit.com/r/EtherMining/comments/6yoo47/claymore_hacked/

I have a few computers to miner from one. Can I use -mport 127.0.0.1:3333? I tried, it does not work.

As I have been Goxed, Cloudstripmined straight through the bottom of my pockets, I tell you : if it looks like crook business, smells like and behaves like, just run away as fr as you can.

Do you think a Bitfinex scandal would affect prices? If so, how much?

Do not think so. There are only $600 m USDT. It is much smaller than the Bitcoin market cap.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If planning to HODL I think now is the time, which three coins will make it? on: November 08, 2017, 08:01:50 PM
If planning to HODL, just stick to:

1. BTC
2. ETH
3. LTC

Currently stuck with just ETH, made a mistake in my portfolio.
Planning on taking on more LTC.

My pick is BTC, BCH, ETH
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Many AMD GPU's available. Are you still buying? on: November 01, 2017, 01:12:41 PM
Its profitability has sharply decreased from crazy may 2017, but people thinking of long-term investment are still purchasing GPUs.

It is better to buy the coins directly. You do not have the noise.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 15, 2017, 02:49:08 PM
Price dropping because btc. hope there will be some recover when btc price stable, ended up buying at high price

Most altcoins drop recently. So not particularly worrying.

I cannot understand why are blackbytes so cheap. ZEC, XMR are flying.
At the end of airdrops their price must skyrocket (at least i'm betting on it)

Yep. It doesn't have to be at the end of the airdrops, it could be much earlier (as soon as people see a use case - either merchant payments or some other form of payment). Keep accumulating if you can afford to.

I agree with that. The actual usage of the Byteball in the society will give the price boost.
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC at $2,800 in GDAX this morning :O on: September 16, 2017, 02:04:46 PM
bitcoin price this now incraese again
in Gdax bitcoin price over 3500 dollar/bitcoin
so don't panic

On average, it is about $3700 now. I think the price will consolidate. After the all the Chinese exchanges are closed, the price will rise again.

Hi,

I just need to verify something about the amd beta blockchain driver.
I have a rig 8 GPU RX580 Gaming 8 Go (Hynix), in june i got 242 MH/s.
Actually in august i obtain 233 MH/s, in order to solve this drop MH/s, i installed this beta blockchain driver i got 248 MH/s, but i met issue with GPU clock speed frequency alternatively jumping 1000 to 1300 MHz.
Is somebody here met the same issue and find solution to solve this?

Thank you for help.

Had the same problem with my RX570, also befor kernel update. I flashed only 1 clk level to the RX570, after that they run fine.
With the RX4X0 i had no Problems to set the clk with rocm-smi, they run stabel

I have no issue with official driver, i only meet this issue gpu clock frequency jumping alternatively non stop from 1000 to 1300 MHz with the beta blockchain driver.
I dont see what you mean, you flashed only 1 clk level to solve this issue?

Can you undervolt with the blockchain driver?
