Plus, nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition, not even notfuzzy! Nice try there, phil. I figured it'd be a PITA, didn't think it'd be DOA...

For Bitcoin the choices are limited: Bitmain and Canaan are pretty much the only game in town unless you got mega$$ in which case a Bitfury container might be applicable.
-oh right, good call Hagss, Ebang too.

Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 7nm miner thread

Yo NotFuzzy, shhhhh... don't be giving out sound advice. The op, and all wide-eyed naive wannabe god's gift to mining, should totally wait for the 7nm node to hit the mining hardware segment. Hell, you'd be a fool to buy in at 7nm, really, when the 4nm node will be right behind it and just think, at least 0.001J/G or 1W per THs. You're a complete idiot for buying any current gear with THAT coming down the pike any day now! No, really!

Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How to start S9 fans before the actual controller / boards (humid environment)
|

Well the easy way is you disconnect the power and i/o cables to the hash boards, power up the controller which powers the fans. The fans will run, though slowly since the temp sensors will show nothing, and run like that until you're confident you can power up the hash boards. Once you feel enough time has elapsed, power down. Reconnect the power and i/o to the hash boards and crank them back up. What's that? You got more than a handful of miners?? And this may happen at any random time?? Don't know about that, still think way inside your container and inside the miners themselves there won't be any condensation of concern when powering up after any long down time. I'd think most moisture would be on outside surfaces, both container and miners. But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Well that makes no sense since payments of any size can go into any valid btc address. Sounds like an online wallet (read you don't own it if you don't control the private key) and you should steer well clear. I generate my addresses offline and have them printed out for backup and archiving. Then I use mycelium on android for its security and ease of importing keys. HTH

https://hminers.com/products/$5000 apparently buys a box capable of 90TH/s, running almost silent and consuming only 1200 watts. Has anyone heard of this before? It kind of blows bitmain out of the water. Apparently in stock and ready to ship. No I'm not one of their salesmen, just really amazed that this thing exists. Why would anyone buy a bitmain box when you can get one of these? Serious question! OOPS: Just found out this is a scam apparently. Is there any way I can delete this topic? for those of you who have said a scam, have already proved it? this is a great idea, why do not we support it? Because "we" are not idiots. Prove us all wrong by buying one or more of these unobtainium based units and report back laughing at all us morons who didn't buy in...

Bad control board? Not as likely as hash board problem. Is it fixable? Possibly, contact bitmainwarranty.com (soon to be myrig) and ask.
