I still remember some of the project I invested in, and I can say the same that most of those project was turns into dust. They always promise something big like 'the next Bitcoin' or 'better than Ethereum' but none of them could deliver the promised product. This investment mostly happened on the ICO boom like 4 years ago, tho there might be some projects that actually booming, and the profit is quite satisfying, I still learned from those mistake, and now like more than 80% of my portfolio is on Bitcoin, and I barely invest in any new project.
Bitcoin never offers such a thing but altcoins do especially new projects. And you are the one for those fake believers and those who think always about money and rewards. That is the reason why we should not just look upon their promises and big rewards but we must look is the use case of the project. Of course, being developers will attract investors in order to make a profit, and one of the most effective strategies is to promise them something attractive...Those greedy individuals and lack of market experience will usually fall into the wrong investment.

However, there's a slight issue with this. How can we develop our homegrown Filipino players to be equally competitive? Because if that's our solution, eventually, all major sports in the Philippines may prefer Filipino-American players to include in their line-up, as they are more competitive.
That would be the downside of this situation but whether we like it or not that's the only way that Team Gilas would be competitive in the international competition. Time will come when all of the Gilas players will be Fil-Foreigners but I hope that will not happen because it would discourage full-bloodied Filipinos or let us say would demoralize grassroots talents. It's really inevitable as most of the PBA players who are making names now are not full-blooded Filipinos, so I hope the fans will not complain in the end because they want to see our brand of basketball become more competitive. They will have to accept these changes. Despite this, I still think that the love for basketball will remain, but for the major league like the PBA, it may become increasingly populated with Fil-Foreigners in the long run.

There are some move to earn projects like stepn, stepapp etc . Do you see any value in them or it is just a death spiral?
It was just like believing in something that never existed in real life. If you hear about the Ponzi Scheme OP, that is just like the same. Never get tempted about it as never give you what to think they would, it is just like assuming for nothing, and the only thing you will get is regrets and disappointments. - it was hard to think about rewards in a project that has no use case. You will spend time and invest them, then they rip your time and money.

Why I'm saying this? There's a talk before that Jordan Clarkson didn't able to get a Philippine passport before 18 even he was already scouted at young age and known to have Filipino blood. If only Jordan Clarkson able to comply with that requirement, he won't be listed as an import or naturalized player for Gilas and instead will be count as our own local player making it more deadly to the Gilas squad as they will able to use Clarkson and our naturalized player at the same time on the court.
And with that, they don't want to commit the same mistake again as they are applying visas to son's of popular players who had Filipino blood as early as ten years old. If i'm not mistaken, the son of Ron Artest aka Meta World Peace has been applied visa by the BSP when he was 10 years old, Jeron Artest's mom is a Filipina. Hope that in the future this kid will showcase his talent and wear the Gilas jersey without any problem. It looks like it's a positive development for our national team. We will have a new generation of players in the future who are either playing in the NBA or participating in high-level tournaments in the USA. This will make us more competitive. Just imagine having players like Jordan Clarkson and Justin Brownlee playing together on our team; that would make us a formidable team. However, there's a slight issue with this. How can we develop our homegrown Filipino players to be equally competitive? Because if that's our solution, eventually, all major sports in the Philippines may prefer Filipino-American players to include in their line-up, as they are more competitive.

Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotions dealing
|
on: September 25, 2023, 10:15:11 AM
|
I think emotion is the highest science in trading, because only we ourselves can fight it, so it is difficult to do or learn without doing it. practice in real.
It is our enemy, our emotion. It's pretty much easy to do things when you're not too emotional because it stops us from discovering things and that's making us think that we need to be limited in our activities especially in trading. A lot of people go with their guts in trading and that makes them lose money because your guts are not always going to be right in trading, you will need to understand the market sentiments, search for news and updates, follow up with the charts and how the market has been moving recently and don't just buy a coin or a token just because you have a gut feeling that it will go up or don't sell your assets just because you think the market will dump shortly. When we are trading, we should keep our emotions aside and trade based on facts, figures, and stats available in the market, because that is the only way we can actually evaluate the market and at least have an idea about which direction the market might move next even if we are not sure about it. That's the point there because most of them underestimate trading and think that these influencers are telling the truth. The sad thing that happens is that they are fooling themselves and lose their money in a very short period of time. Until then, facts can't be changed, trading is risky and only those who have deep knowledge and skills become profitable. Just to realize that trading is not just about having guts or instinct but instead, it requires a high level of market understanding and trading skills. And most of all, we don't have to underestimate the market.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can third-world countries counter inflation using bitcoin?
|
on: September 24, 2023, 09:32:16 PM
|
They couldn't beat inflation nor did it help them. Those people who live in these third-world countries have little chance to invest in Bitcoin, they'll take fiat instead and suffer inflation.
Generally, using Bitcoin is not the solution to inflation as it comes whether we like it or not. The only way to help us is to make more investments and sources of income. I'd say that those who live in poor countries will suffer the most while those who live in rich countries take advantage of the situation and become richer.

^^ But I think Manny did the right thing though, moving up in weight winning 8 divisions and now he has become a legend. And could be in the argument for one of the best, GOAT in boxing. As let's say to Floyd's unblemished record, but if you have to compare him and Manny, what Pacman accomplished was greater as it hard to beat that record and maybe it will stand for many years that not even Inoue can break it if he wanted to. But fighting in the US, could really be good for Inoue's exposure and of course getting huge money as well.
He did the right thing because his promoter knows where the bigger market is, compared to Inoue, who can still make a lot of money even if he only fights in Japan. But it cannot be denied that he will make more if the fight is held in the USA. I don't know what their plan is, but right now, in terms of career development, Inoue is on the right path. Maybe next time he moves up in weight, he'll focus his fights in the US. Exactly, US is the mecca of boxing, so it's better for Inoue to make his fights in the US and risk everything. Of course, they are making as well good money in the US, but if you wanted to cement your legacy and chasing the biggest audience that will be the US of A. But we can't do anything if his Japanese handlers are in their comfort in Japan. There might be language barriers, but Top Rank is there to work with them. Not sure how long is Inoue's contract though, maybe when he is on his last term with Top Rank, perhaps he will be fighting in the US. But for now, he seems to not compromise his career and just steadily fighting in his home country. Top Rank hasn't been dictating where Inoue would fight. I read that he only signed with Top Rank for a co-promotional agreement, which means it's not Top Rank that has total control. I believe he signed in 2019 and announced it after the fight with Donaire, so it's been more than three years already. He has had six fights under Top Rank, but only two of the fights were held in the US: his fights with Jason Moloney and Michael Dasmarinas.

The question is if he is still able to remember it unless it was written and published in the newspaper. But it doesn't matter because Bitcoin will rise without Elon Musk. We can't deny his influence in social media and in business society but we must think on the other side that the crypto market will survive and continue to grow without the participation of any big names and influencers. It was not the hype that would bring Bitcoin's price high but it was the trust and our continuous support.

The only fact that everyone needs to know about No KYC casinos is they are probably into illegal activities like frauds and money laundering.
You can't trust them, as no KYC casino can be easily presumed to be unregistered as well. So, whatever their dealings, it's already up to them, and once we gamble on their sites, there's no assurance that we will be safe all the time. They are like a non-regulated exchange that may exit scam once they have earned a lot of money, including deposits from their clients.

Nice start for Tim Cone as the coach of Gilas. We have a win tonight. Gilas ramps up its Asian Games prep with an 86-81 win over the KBL’s LG Sakers in an exhibition at PhilSports Arena. From one sports. https://www.facebook.com/OneSportsPHLJust check out the YouTube highlights of this game. I'm sure many Filipino vloggers will be posting videos with their commentaries regarding the win. I hope this trend continues, even though it's just a tune-up game; it's still very important to us. No more bashing; it's good for our Gilas Pilipinas. It seems like the coaching style of Tim Cone is very effective, especially with Brownlee, their best player, working with the Ginebra Gin Kings. A tune-up game against a good team is already a success. I believe they are already prepared for the Asian Games. Are there any other tune-up games scheduled before their first game in the Asian Games? Tim cone is the best best coach as we all know how smart he is and wat we saw earlier that they will win against strong team even though that is tune up game then still salute for our players who gave their very best to win that game. And also their lineup is good and the chemistry between the coach and the players has already built. And also our new local player which brownlee he contributed very well and it's. successful. I think we can consider him our naturalized player. Well, he is so Pinoy that we can almost consider him a local player, although on paper he is not. The lineup is really good, the defense was strong, and we have a good big man who can compete with the bigs from other countries. In my opinion, Fajardo wasn't that impressive in past international games, but with his contributions during the FIBA World Cup, I think the real Kraken has awakened, and he will be even more dangerous in the upcoming Asian Games.

|
Bull run is probably our most awaited moment to finally reap all our hardwork we put in our crypto investments. That is selling them in return for massive profits. However, we cannot expect the same thing will happen always. Bitcoin halving is fast approaching and after that, we supposed to see bull run. But what if this time the opposite will suddenly happen. Instead of bull run, the market turns bearish instantly. That is why don’t expect too much and just prepare ourselves and our investments as well as we are still not sure what will be the situation when that time comes.
As I was been experiencing the 2 bull seasons, I could still think that it was the same experience to happen. The price of Bitcoin will make another ATH and these altcoins prices also will surprise us. I believe that Bull run occurs every 4 years, in fact, that was also happen in the past which means that it can happen again as usual. I was still optimistic despite the current situation in the market, this certainly is going to happen (bearish) as we can't expect the market to recover fast either. I understand why people think negatively about the situation because that is their view, but we are talking about the future and it is positive IMO.

Of course, YES but most of them ignored it for financial reasons and knowledge. In fact, how could you prioritize investing in Bitcoin when you don't have enough money to provide your necessities? I would say that they have the option and that will depend on their real-life situation. Some people are very unfortunate and really don't have the capability to start. Therefore, investing in Bitcoin is a good opportunity for all but not all have been given the chance to do it.

You don't need to ask because if you can search it and dig deeper, you will find out that this project is not really worth it. I hope you did the right thing to do and listen to what other members are saying. If you are not a part of the team or are being paid for promotion, you'd rather include this project to your ignore list because you can't find any good from this project nor expect a profit but rather experience losses in the end. If I were you, stay away from new projects because most of them are scams.

|
on: September 23, 2023, 12:54:25 PM
|
Anyways, I disagree with Freddie Roach though, I do not see Charlo winning by a knockout, maybe if there is a upset here, it should be in the judges scorecard that might favor Charlo.
We never know; unexpected things can happen. Remember when we thought that Canelo would easily beat Bivol, but the opposite happened? Jermell Charlo may not be a KO artist like Canelo, but he is the bigger guy here. If he can use his size advantage to frustrate Canelo, it might make Canelo lose his focus, and in the later rounds, Jermell Charlo might be able to capitalize on that. Although I would agree that the chances of it happening are very slim, this is boxing, and both fighters are capable in the ring, so let's consider the possibility.

Economy / Economics / Re: You can't meet all your needs/desires at once, even if you spend all your salary
|
on: September 22, 2023, 09:47:07 PM
|
That is so true, it takes years and years to get something done, and when you do, you will have new needs. Thankfully I am earning more than enough to survive and cover my expenses ,dreams can wait and there is nothing wrong with not reaching my dreams, as a person I can live without having too much debt, just a bit that I am sure I can pay, and that is more than enough. If I can't reach my dreams but I can pay off my living, then I will be more than happy about it.
Because when you compare it, surely there are some whales who can buy a new car for everyday, but also we are talking about billions in the world who barely survive, and millions that are starving, I can be at least grateful that I am not one of them.
Slowly and slowly, we can reach our goal, unlike those rich people who can make it right away if they want. Let us say that we are less fortunate but at least we are still able to survive and still given the chance to work and earn. Even though we have small salaries if only know how to budget our money and think about additional sources of income instead of thinking about spending all of it, we really have the chance to become rich and be able to buy things that we want. More of us are financially illiterate which is why even though we have huge salaries, still end up empty and even in debt.

Stopping when you lose is recommended so we don't experience more losses.
We should be specific with this, though — having a certain amount as a limit is necessary, as stopping when we lose is not the right way. The thing is, we gamble to win, so why would we stop when we lose, especially when there's still a portion left in our bankroll? Sometimes we have to trust our instincts, take bigger risks, but it's important to stay disciplined and stick with the game plan, being specific at all times.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Time to collect altcoins now or later?
|
on: September 22, 2023, 12:42:53 PM
|
Thus, it is important to always do your due diligence before jumping on any hype on this market. As we have thousands of alts, only few of them have bright future, and mostly, only those with solid foundation to begin with. You will have insights on how they will survive in this market by checking the dev team themselves. Are they actively developing the project? Are their outputs visible to the community? Are they useful to begin with? Just few questions you need to contemplate with before thinking of buying in the trading market.
Following the hype is probably the number one reason people invest in all kind of altcoins only to lose everything after their coins dump, and while I can understand why people choose to invest in coins that are hyped, it is very risky to do so, as hype is not something that can last for a long time and it can disappear in a matter of days, so if you happen to invest at the wrong time you could easily lose money that it took you years to save in just a few days. I could say some people had lost their money from buying into hype projects but it doesn't mean it was a wrong decision because we admit that many were also earning a lot of money from them. I won't encourage people to invest in hyped projects but never I stop them from doing it. Perhaps, it was even more profitable compared to investing in known coins when you've got perfect timing. But yes, if you've got it wrong and just come during its peak, losses are possible to happen. You'll be wise indeed in the crypto market.

Everything really points out that he will be the favorite here and most likely accomplished a second unification champion.
I think the right term to use here is "undisputed champion". This is an article that explains about the specific fight. Inoue Vs. Tapales For Undisputed Being Targeted For DecemberInoue has become an undisputed champion in the bantamweight division, and now he is in the super bantamweight division, aiming to achieve the same. That's right, because whoever wins this fight will probably hold all four belts and become the undisputed champion. Here is the list of belts and the champions who hold them: WBC: Inoue WBO: Inoue WBA: Tapales IBF: Tapales Now, we will only have one champion after this fight, and the next step for the champion is to face challengers before moving up.
