41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: August 03, 2016, 03:58:55 PM
You're promoting a scam website
lol how do you know that? so your the judge? why not let the traders decide what it is? so much for immutability lol more like mute

im sorry but etc has SCAM written all over it.

The irony of that ETC thread is .. up there..

He really wants a immutable coin, but a very very mutable thread.

o_O

Immutability is just an excuse to pump and dump the ETC. I reckon the ETC will be dumped before the hacker's dump.
42  Economy / Economics / Re: How many Bitcoin do you have saved? on: August 03, 2016, 03:55:48 PM

How much mobile phone calls to you use? It seems $13 is quite low amount. Hope you have other income.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC transaction speed on: August 03, 2016, 03:54:27 PM
I only can tell that many still talking about bitcoin death.. After all these years of btc and LTC success..
Especially those who talked different stories before..Ex believers.. Roll Eyes

I will buy LTC if fall lower..I dont care what others think, i belive LTC still has good chanses.

The Bitfinex was hacked and lost 120k bitcoins. That could cause a reduce of investors confidence in bitcoin.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can the ETH Hard Fork Fail? on: July 20, 2016, 11:06:37 AM
If only 60% of the miners mine the hard fork, it could fail if the new chain is attacked by some malicious force.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 20, 2016, 11:03:36 AM
Over 50% of nodes on the network are now running a HF Ready client

How about the Chinese pools? They have about 32% of the total hashing power. It would be better if they switch as well.

They said they will go with the majority. So I think they will also support the hard fork. Let wait and see.

We will see if they go with the majority in a few hours time. If they do not, I will earn more Ethereum.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC transaction speed on: July 16, 2016, 04:04:50 PM
The litecoin transaction is faster than bitcoin. But that is mainly because not many people are using it.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 16, 2016, 04:02:49 PM
yes code rules...code allowed hack, code allows HF.

and anyone who says well BTC wasn't hardforked after MT Gox ..is naïve or ill-informed.
Mt gox hack occurred month's if not years before final demise. Infinitely more transactions and infinitely more $ to btc and BTC to $ transactions.
cant compare the situations.

Sure DAO holders can sue, but most likely wont if HF is successful (no grounds) Dao hacker can sue, but finding a jurisdiction that would interpret contract law in his/her/their favor would be difficult and plus would have to reveal self (don't think strawmen representation is allowed) and that wont happen as he/she/they might be in more trouble than just legal.

It would be impossilbe for the DAO hacker to sue as it is very clear he stole $60 million and will be put into prison.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 02, 2016, 08:42:19 PM
Any hardfork that invalidates transactions destroys reputation and trust. Period. These two concepts are the cornerstone if you are trying to break into the financial big league.

If anther contract has a flaw tomorrow, who plays God that will decide who lives and who dies?

I tend to not agree on the whole " reputation " and " trust " negative shove on things.

ALL I SEE - Is positive turn on things presented in front of us.

They would be cleaning up their " reputation" by stopping a hacker from stealing the communities coins.

They would be also building the " trust " of the community, proving they wont let the bad guys get away with junk like this.

You seem to just be assuming this and that Jc12345.

Not clear and focused thoughts my man.

Cheers,

MasterTrader777

Unfortunately it is not about what you think (or I for that matter) but what the world's businesses, financial systems and markets think.

The world's financial system is built on trust and robustness and reputation is the name of the game. Things that threaten the integrity and stability of the financial system is frowned upon. The system hates uncertainty and will avoid it like the plague. Business wants to know that if a transaction is done and a contract is created, irrespective of if it is a good transaction or a bad, that the "system" cannot be manipulated to change that. A robust financial system will have controls in place to be able to stop a transaction from happening or to block funds before it is too late. If the money is gone though then it is gone, unless there are other ways to recover it through law enforcement or if the hacker can be convinced to pay it back. If a theft in a financial system exposes a flaw, then improve the system going forward to prevent it from re-occurring which is fine. If you get caught with your pants down, take one for the team and the system moves on with integrity, trust and robustness intact.

Even if one argues it is a good thing that people get their money back, it is not the best in the bigger scheme of things. Once mega business sees that the past can be changed, they will lose trust in the system. Remember that a party takes a position based on inforamtion at hand. If they want to take a serious position to the one side they need strong assurances that underlying things will not happen that pushes the outcome to the other side. Otherwise they will just take positions that sits on the fence or move elsewhere.

If eth wants to compete with the mega word financial systems and markets, then the DAO funds is a drop in the ocean. it is not worth it to sacrifice the war to win a battle. I dont think it can be clearer and more focused than that.
totaly agree and id ad
the"can" option that is added right now will also do damage
in the future big biz that is maybe to big to fail ? might ask for a folk too ? what then?

The point is that the 4% "stolen" funds can do a lot damage to the Ethereum ecosystem. So it is better to take it away.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What should I mine on: June 14, 2016, 07:11:53 AM
For the Ethereum mining, the difficulty is rising too fast, so mine when it is profitable. It might not last long.

If the Ethereum price rise again, it will be profitable again. But you will mine fewer Eth after the difficulty rise.

My mining operation will not be profitable in 3- 4 months. That is due to the difficulty rising too fast.

The difficulty was lower in the last few days, but it is rising again. If it is as fast as in the last few months, no home mining for many people.

It has already started rising again. I think the drop was caused by big farms changing some settings.

The difficulty is 49.2T, that is another all time high. I see the miners are very confident on the Ethereum.
50  Economy / Economics / Re: How many Bitcoin do you have saved? on: May 25, 2016, 08:51:36 AM
I saved around the 6 bitcoins for the future of this year, I'm holding them now and look at the end of this year if I'm gonna sell them.
The halving will maybe good but this is not to predict honestly.
6 bitcoins is already a big money for me cause i have only 0.5 , got them almost 1 and half year on bitcoin world and im still collecting to make it 1 btc

There are 800,000 forum members in the BitcoinTalk. If 10% of them is active and everybody own 10 bitcoin, that is 800,000 bitcoins.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: May 20, 2016, 10:22:30 AM
So the price broken through the last peak in March, do we think it can go further?

The dollar price has broken the previous record. But the bitcoin is not yet. It still needs to rise more than 10%.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: April 27, 2016, 08:14:10 PM
not profitable for me anymore, diff to high and price lower than before

If your electricity price is high, you have to undervoltage and underclock the graphics cards to make them more efficient.

undervolatage and under clock will make the mining more profitable ?? I do not think so... You will get less hash for less consumption , that is it

It depends on the price of the Etheruem. If you drop your voltage by 10% and frequency by 10%, you consumes 30% less electricity and get 10% less hash.
53  Economy / Economics / Re: How many Bitcoin do you have saved? on: April 19, 2016, 07:35:44 PM
Why people think they bitcoin must achieve more success than he already succeeded to?
Early adopters are rich now, we can be satisfied now, but future investors?

The future users will also be rich as they can use the bitcoin and cut the fee to the credit cards companies.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What should I mine on: April 08, 2016, 02:53:56 PM
Ethereum is best to mine for the time being. Its price has risen a lot in the last month. More rise could come.

The Ethereum is still the best to mine, even though the price has dropped 40%. But the difficulty is also rising fast.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: March 27, 2016, 11:30:34 AM
Best pool on the planet for ETH mining?

dwarfpool vs nanopool vs ethpool vs suprnova vs ethmine.org (new)

i am currently on ethmine, its a new pool from the folks from ethpool..... but seems PPLNS payout is lower than any other pool  Angry

For the PPLNS, the initial payment is low. But after a few hours, the payment should the same as other pool.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: February 29, 2016, 06:22:07 PM

I am looking for Eth/USD market badly in good exchange site. Please help me. I will sell some Eth for USD

You can use the Poloniex.com exchange. It is the largest exchange for the Ethereum trading. There is Eth/USD market there.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What should I mine on: February 24, 2016, 09:29:24 AM
I recommend downloading the nicehash miner and letting it run for a while, then see what algo makes you the most money, then mine a coin with that algo or keep selling hashpower on nicehash or another site Smiley

This is a good idea to mine there. The most profitable coin there is probably X11, but it has ASIC now.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What should I mine on: February 11, 2016, 08:26:45 AM
You can mine Ethereum. But the mining set up process is more difficult than the old scrypt or x11 coins.
59  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How earn Bitcoins fast and free?? on: January 29, 2016, 10:07:53 AM
Damn, captcha solver is worth it dude if you can type fast. i know it's tired but it's really worth it. If you can type and solve the captcha fast this captcha solver can be a good job.

Yes. Captcha solvers earn a lot if theyhave a typing speed of 35 wpm or higher and I've known some people who type over 3000 captchas per hour that earns them $5-$7 easily. It only requires experience and if you can spend 3-5 hours daily, earning $1000 per month is very easy.

But that is very bad for your eyes and figures. That is just too repetitive work and harmful if you do it all the time.
60  Bitcoin / Press / Re: Very bad news for bitcoin any thoughts? on: January 16, 2016, 10:53:33 AM
Mike is a dope and let the door hit him on the way out... after Pushing XT so hard I gave up on him.

Ahhh, so he's an XT dev? That explains the attitude, I have no idea why if they didn't believe in the project they just went ahead and make their own fork and altcoin. but then again that might take hard work instead of just trying to hijack Bitcoin's reputation like so many of them do.

But we still need the block size rise to 2MB in the near future to accommodate the transaction rise. Otherwise, bitcoin is useless.
