1  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB/EU] USB Stick Miner on: October 21, 2020, 09:26:56 AM
Bitshopper.de is in germany and sells the best stick miner there is. The Gekkoscience Newpac. Or if you want something slightly larger (but still quiet) the R606.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash ETH hashrate dropped on: October 14, 2020, 08:02:04 PM
Thanks phillip. It seems a reboot sorted it. Just have no idea why it suddenly tanked the hashrate.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Nicehash ETH hashrate dropped on: October 14, 2020, 07:24:21 PM
So ive been running nicehash on my pc when its not in use to earn a couple of $$. Today I noticed that instead of the usual 40+Mh my 1080ti gets its dropped to 22Mh with the same settings in AB.

Any one have any ideas why?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NiceHash Miner - Error During Benchmark on: October 02, 2020, 12:45:38 PM
Could be your OC if you have one applied. Is that the latest version of Nicehash miner? I had this with an older version but since updating its all benchmarked as it should.
5  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Small miner viability question: USB-C bus power? on: October 01, 2020, 08:01:33 AM
I have two USB-C Gen2 ports on my Z370-i but doesn’t say anywhere in the manual that they provide PD protocol. Just the increased transfer speed  Undecided

I bought two of these, one was for a friend but they no longer it, make me an offer.

Kind of sus he was selling a gigabyte 3080 and now one from nvidia.  Be careful use escrow.

Don't forget the MSI trio one he was selling too.  Roll Eyes

Just how many did he over buy for "friends"  Cheesy
7  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My S9 Heater version on: September 24, 2020, 05:51:47 PM
^ Guys, I think you mean Power Line Communication,
not PoE ?

PoE is for powering devices with 48VDC power supply via an ethernet cable (Data+Power).

That would make more sense actually. I didn’t even think of that option when I was looking into how to make the heater more moveable.
8  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My S9 Heater version on: September 24, 2020, 03:43:11 PM
I looked into POE but with limited sockets in my house it wasn't worth the extra expense to set up a whole system. The lan bridge was only £12 and works great all over the house so in my eyes it was a great buy.
9  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Braiins OS: open-source mining firmware [S9, T1]. New release includes AsicBoost on: September 22, 2020, 12:22:27 PM
Not sure if this has been asked before but is there any way to stop the fans doing the initial fullspeed ramp up?

Currently running from SD card, would writing it to NAND help?

EDIT:Also, how long does it take to flash new firmware? I used the web package option on the main website and selected flash new firmware through the GUI. Its been saying its doing it for the past 20minutes.
10  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My S9 Heater version on: September 22, 2020, 12:17:07 PM
I was wondering if a spacer between the fan and the chassis might help things a little even in the orientation I have it.

I would love to have the boards you have but I remember you saying the MOQ was 600 boards which was a bit of a joke really.
11  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My S9 Heater version on: September 22, 2020, 06:12:54 AM
Is the fan a push or a pull?

Its pulling from front to back.
12  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My S9 Heater version on: September 21, 2020, 07:37:49 PM
Seeing as this is the space heater thread, I thought I would post mine:-

S9 13.5Th, single fan, dust filter on the front, custom cables, side mounted psu thanks to a side panel from another S9 chassis. Also an RJ45 wifi bridge with wide range voltage input so can work over wifi and be powered from the psu directly.

Running Braiins OS and getting 9.6Th at 760w at the wall. If my math is correct its 79w/Th which isnt too bad.

Its the only option at the moment that is for a “lottery”.

Ahh i was referring to the S9. Not sure on the S17.

Why can´t we go below 1480 watt on the autotune setting? Is there a reason for that?

You can. Currently got mine set to 475w
16  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] [UK] PSU, Fans, Hashboards on: September 12, 2020, 04:16:32 PM
I have some spares from a couple of S9's (13.5Th) that I don't need anymore.

4x 120x38mm fans (vary from 1.65a to 2.7a) so varying speeds but there is a pair of the same speed.
3x S9 V4.21m hashboards all from the same machine.
1x Bitmain APW3++ 1600w psu (with spare set of clean pcie cables)

Only down side is they were used in immersion cooling by the previous owner. I have tried my best to remove all the residual mineral oil (with quite a few cans of electrical contact cleaner) but some still remains.

Open to offers but only from UK residents as they simply aren't worth shipping abroad.

Cheers.

Yes it will sense the change. If you don't want to install it to the miner's NAND, you would need individual microSD cards for each.

Thanks Artemis. I'll get another SD card.

Is it possible to switch the SD card from an existing S9 to a new S9 and have it work? Would it run with a current working autotune profile or would it sense the change of miner and redo the autotune?

Or would it be best to just get another SD card and do a new image?
19  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Is there a list of HP / IBM (Lenovo) Power Supplies that people use for mining? on: September 09, 2020, 12:36:34 PM
HP Common Slot ones are the most useable from what ive seen. Ive got a couple i use (460 & 750w).
20  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining Bitmain SHA museum on: September 08, 2020, 09:36:24 PM
Btw, no collection is complete without a 21 BTC computer (Pi full node with a single sha256 asic)

Got one sitting on the shelf in the storage room. No longer able to do anything because the company closed etc etc but still runs as much as it can.
