I'm not sure why it was set up like that.

You only get transaction fees anyway, so its not like anyone is making any money.

Got it solved, it seemed to be a time difference, I went into clock and told it to update to time.windows.com.

Can somebody send me something so I can start mining?

Can someone explain the time sync fix to me? I know wrong time can stall the client, but how do you fix it? I'm using 2.9. I delete all the other files and restart, but still wont sync. How do i know if my time is causing the problem? how do i fix?
thanks

It's the time of your computer that matters, so make sure thats correct

EDIT: rather make sure that your computer is synchronising with an online clock.

Nice job Come-From-Beyond on the slot machine.

Thx, I made it mainly to test how transactions r propagated on the network. Unfortunatelly, almost noone plays it.

If someone wants to donate coins I dont mind sitting here sending transactions. I have nothing better on right now.

Sorry but Im too tight to use my own Cheesy

How much memory is it allocated by default?

If without "-Xmx" option then 64-256 Mb.

I'll see how high mine goes. 137mb atm. I guess it will just keep climbing
569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: November 26, 2013, 03:06:57 PM
The memory usage seems to be slowly creeping up. Its now at 118mb.

Looks like Nxt client crashes coz of memory leak.

How much memory is it allocated by default?

Mine is only using 76mb  Huh

Does it run stable?

well the latest version kept getting stuck so I reverted to V0.2.3 which was the only one I had in my bin. Its running very well actually.

My point though was that it still only uses a small amount of memory even when I start it with your suggestion above.

I did test the latest version like that but it carried on stalling while downloading the blockchain.

Its now using 34mb and running like a charm.

I noticed that my local copy of Nxt runs much more stable than one on VPS (88.198.210.245). I suspect this is because my local computer has much more memory available. If ur node has more than 256 Mb RAM then use the following command to launch Nxt:

Code:
java -Xms512m -Xmx1024m -cp Nxt.zip Nxt IP_ADDRESS

-Xms and -Xmx make Java VM to use more memory. Notice there is no space between "-Xms" and "512m". U can set other values instead of 512 and 1024.

Mine is only using 76mb  Huh

It lists the version number when you start the client

I've had my account unlocked for over 24 hours now, but no transaction indicating any earnings from mining. How will I know if i get any earnings? Should I expect some after 24 hours?

You need to wait for 1440 blocks to be solved on top of your first receipt before mining will begin.

Thanks!
But it some how dose not worke Huh

Here is what I have put in the terminal/ what the terminal returned:

lubuntu@lubuntu:~$ /home/lubuntu/Desktop
bash: /home/lubuntu/Desktop: Is a directory
lubuntu@lubuntu:~$  java -cp Nxt.zip Nxt
Error: Could not find or load main class Nxt

Is that correct what I put in there?

P.s. Also how would I create a batch file? Sorry for beining such a noob, but ubuntu is 100% new for me

Is you Nxt.zip on your Desktop? If so, right click on the desktop and make a new folder. Call it "nxt" (case sensitive). Put Nxt.zip into this folder.

Now in a new terminal type: cd Desktop/nxt

Now type: java -cp Nxt.zip Nxt

==============

To make a batch file, open a txt editor and type in the code in nnn's post. save the file into your nxt folder. right click on it and go to Properties, then Permissions and tick "allow executing as a program".

then double click it

eid

p.s. your original error was forgetting to type "cd".
