1  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum and address management on: February 09, 2016, 03:06:16 PM
Thanks for reply!

And, it is imposible to manage addresses you send coins from, rigth?

Well there are no "from addresses" even though blockchain explorers show it like that, but no electrum does not allow you to select which inputs (coins you received previously) to use.

There is a way but its a bit drawn out.. You need to go to the address' tab and right click "freeze" the address' you dont want to spend. When you then send a tx it will send it from the amount that isnt frozen.

Are there any news about server re-write, with faster block processing?

Been a couple of pull requests that have gone through from JAuthor that have increased the speed a little bit.

5  Bitcoin / BitcoinJ / Wondering how BitcoinJ picks nodes. on: February 03, 2016, 05:48:47 PM
I run a full node and every so often quite a few bitcoinj clients will connect within a small space of time. I am wondering if this is somehow to do with how it picks which nodes to connect to or something?

NOT CONNECTING ISSUE:

Please note because i changed the main DOMAIN i also changed the SSL cert to match. People trying to connect to the .onion and .noip.me might not be able to connect because electrum CACHES certificates of servers and mine has changed! You will need to remove the cached cert for both .noip.me and .onion. You can find these in

On windows;

C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Electrum\certs

Linux

I am unsure, if you know please let me know so i can update it!

Once this is done you should be able to connect again!

On FRIDAY the 5th of Febuary 2016 i will be moving FROM a noip address.

The new address is electrum.dancrypto.com this is usable now! (and should also show on the list of servers)

However as from friday it will be that address that shows up in the electrum server list rather than electrumserv.noip.me.

.onion remains unaffected!

Just letting people know I updated the windows binaries to support bitshopper compacs and I also compiled it with icarus, so you should be able to run it with lots of other stickminers if you wish.

gekkoscience.com/misc/cgminer-gekko-win32.zip

Let me know if you find any issues.  The old version is still at gekkoscience.com/misc/cgminer-gekko-win32-old.zip

Yes turn it anti-clockwise.. make sure it doesnt go past the 6pm mark or 12 pm depending which  way you hold it.. As i think that will increase it again.

You will have to decrease your clock rate too or you will get hardware errors with the lower voltage.

I set a clock speed like 150 and with it mining slowly turned the screw anticlockwise.. Noticing when the HW errors started then turned it back up slightly.. It will give you a ball park area that way.
9  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: gekkoscience usb stick miner - help please :) on: January 25, 2016, 06:20:40 PM
USB 2 or USB 3?

I had this problem if you look in the main gekko thread towards the end.

I found it was the voltage setting on the screw was too high for my ports to handle and reducing it helped.

I think you're overloading the USB port.

What freq are you running it ?

ive tried a few frequency's. Currently just running 100 at 0.623v to see if it stops again. (5.4GH/s)

Using USB 3.0 ports in a powered hub. 200-250 stop's after a few mins and sometimes carry's on for an hour then stops. Its really confusing.

11  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: January 23, 2016, 06:18:17 PM
If the stick is getting very hot, you should put a fan to it.

I have a fan on it already. I am unsure as to if the heat sink is working properly :| What about the light and Core V dropping to 0?

Check the screws at the heatsink! Maybe they will get loose or they get stretched by heat. Its a cooling pad under the heatsink, not paste like the originals. My bitshopper-Stick has the same problems with heat and dropping VCore but i havn't the time to sort it out yet. Maybe you get the clou ...

Yeh i checked the screws before they were loose so i hand tightned them a bit. Just at a loss of what to do really. It wont run for more than a couple of mins before it stoppes and the V core goes to 0... It is a bitshopper stick. Really dissapointed.

thanks for all the help, however i seem to be having another issue. After 3-10 mins the blue light stops flashing and the core V goes to 0 from 0.678. I am unsure as to whats going on here. The only thing i have noticed is the back of the chip does get HOT (too hot to touch for more than a few seconds). I am wondering if this could be the issue or maybe if i am missing something?
14  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: January 22, 2016, 04:09:06 PM
I don't know if you mentioned earlier, but I see you're using bitshopper Compacs. And the Windows build of cgminer-gekko. I don't know what the BFG hangup is, but the Win32 cgminer-gekko someone compiled off the old version; we updated it to support bitshopper sticks and I bet nobody's created a Windows build since then.

What do you get with stock cgminger 4.9.2 with Icarus support (which I believe the default Windows download includes)? If they detect at all they should come up as Antminer U3.

Also, someone previously asked if you had made sure to grab zlib1.doo or whichever it's called; this was somehow left out of the Win32 archive but cgminer needs it to work properly. A stock cgminer Windows archive will have it.

this is the developer of cgminer's   link

click it and go to  the 4.9.2  links you can find missing zlib

http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/

4.9.2 works! 4.9.1 give me the permission errors

I could kiss you all! thanks so much for helping! Smiley

Question: I'm having to use --au3-freq to set the frequency. Going over 250 says invalid frequency.. Anyone know any away around that?

Now i need to change the pool / address Smiley

Random question maybe offtopic but i run a Full node. Could i just point cgminer at the full node rather than using a pool? does anyone have a link they wouldnt mind sharing for me to look at. (I am planning on solo mining) thanks again!

Hi thanks again, i agree its odd. However i have tried multiple windows machines and they all get the same error.

cgminer --ndevs
gives me this;

the bgnminer command just freezes and never shows anything.

bfgminer -S all ?

Hi, thanks again for your reply.

bfgminer -S all i get "The request is not supported"

trying just

bfgminer i get this;

you probably tried this but standard procedure seems to be "run as administrator" sorry but the real life prevents me from reading all the previous replies
Tried as this yes and as just running it as normal

have you tried not on a hub but directly in a USB3 port ?

Tried all the combinations. USB2 port, USB2 hub, USB3 port, USB3 hub.. Then different usb ports and different hubs. Still the same error Sad

if you had searched this topic like I did (keyword: privilege), you would have found this:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1173963.msg12868094#msg12868094

Another user fixed the same error by just using BFGminer 5.4.1 instead of cgminer-gekko.

trying bgminer which give me this error

or the device simply doesnt show...

1BURGERAXHH6Yi6LRybRJK7ybEm5m5HwTr is GekkoScience's address. You should use your own.

Did you download and add zlib1.dll?

Have you tried simply unplugging and replugging them while cgminer is running?

Hi thanks for your reply, yes im aware of the address. However i was just trying to get it working once its working i was planning on changing it to my own Smiley

I have tried;

Un pluging the miner and plugging it back in
trying different ports (usb 2 and 3)
trying a different machine
trying bgminer which give me this error

I'm not really sure what else to try Sad

one one of my machines (windows 7)
The light on the hub port that its connected to turns off as if its disconnecting (this doesnt happen on the others)
This means i cannot even get it to show in zadig. Which is annoying as that  was the machine i actually wanted to use.

Edits its showing now on w7 and i did the zadig update drivers but still getting a privileged error with cgminer.
20  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: January 21, 2016, 06:33:37 PM
do you use the special cgminer (I think so) or the normal version ?

I think the normal version wouldn't even see it, but hey... I'm asking :p

I am using the "Special" version from the first post is the one im using. I have tried it on multiple windows machines now running as admin and not admin (command prompt). And still getting the same issue Sad Any advice would be appreciated!
