The number of the beast is your SSN. Just kidding.

Seriously though I would be more worried about Santa bringing me a lump of coal or my carriage turning back into a pumpkin after midnight than the fairy tale of revalations coming true.

Though I would not mind meeting the whore of Babylon...  Cheesy

Stealing money is stupid. It is going to be worthless in a few years.
23  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who else gets weird transactions? on: December 09, 2012, 04:21:02 PM
Law enforcement could use this to mark addresses like they mark bank notes, preventing the need for a central database.
24  Other / Off-topic / Re: Since when does blockchain.info link wallet adress to BTCTalk forum accounts? on: December 09, 2012, 04:18:12 PM
Neat trick. Only problem is that I can put any address in my profile that I want and make my  name show up as someones address.

So if I did not like someone I could create an account here called 'IEatRabbitPoo' and use their address in my sig. Now they are labelled IEatRabbitPoo on blockchain. Victory!
25  Other / Off-topic / Re: Strange noise coming from the sky on: December 09, 2012, 04:15:31 PM
I live somewhat close to an airport. I've heard all sorts of aircraft from helicoptors to fighter jets. The sounds I heard today were not of this earth.

I always used to get excited about trying to see a u.f.o   or the idea that there is other life outside our planet....until today.

My wife and I were picking up after the cats, giving them water, food and changing the litter.  I heard what sounded like a fighter jet..I didnt think about it much more than that.
As we were cleaning I noticed the sound did not go away but it was getting louder. I went out front to see what it could be and there was nothing in the sky except clouds. The noise sounded like a huge wind tunnel or constant flow of air or wind. there was no breeze everything was calm except this terrifying noise from above.  It sounded like a huge mother ship was overhead.  there was also a steady humming noise.

i cant explain what this sound was....but it was real.    I no longer wish to see a ufo and I'm kind of frightened the end of the world is coming soon.

I used to live by an airport. At about 3 in the morning would go out to smoke some green and I would see huge aircraft landing with their engines off. I think it is military stealth landing practice. But those large planes make a very erie sound when landing without engines. Sounds like a very large mass/volume displacing air at high speeds.

You better not get in bed with a real fat girl... Might get nauseous from the climb Smiley

Fat girls are great! Warmth in the winter and shade in the summer.
27  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: It's difficult to set a law over country border on: December 09, 2012, 04:08:07 PM
I don't think Iceland supported bitcoin, I think one of their higher ups just said that he does not think there is anything illegal about it. This is just from memory though.

I have gotten an offer of 5% under melt value for this. If I don't get a better offer by Monday I am going to accept it.

31  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: General bitcoin license for services dealing in bitcoins? on: December 06, 2012, 05:27:36 PM
Some wording like "Payment is only considered made by bitcoin when the full requested amount is shown to be deposited in the blockchian in the given address prior to the payment expiry time given. Any refunds will only be funded by the given address. We are not responsible for funds sent to other address or lost funds due to technical issue with your client or the blockchain. Due to the changing value of bitcoins a given payment request will have an expiry time..."

Something along those lines should cover what it means to be paid/refunded.

I think if you ever ended up before a judge arguing about a payment and the judge says "Uhh, what is a bitcoin???" then a clause like this would go a long way in proving payment/refund.
32  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is stealing Bitcoins illegal? on: December 06, 2012, 05:24:29 PM
Papers are what you call "laws".

Finding something unowned is an acceptable and ethical way to obtain property. The question is only how to determine whether something is unowned. That is not a question to be resolved by looking up opinions written on holy papers, but rather by reasoning from principle and material fact.

That is sort of how our common law/precedence system works. Even if a law is not written a judge can refer to common law or precedence and in the lack of either can set precedence based on "common sense". This is of course made moot if an actual law is drafted to cover the issue.

So even if stealing bitcoin is not against the law as it stands, it can still be found to be illegal in court.
33  Other / Meta / Re: Open applications for moderatorship: a big leap forward on: December 06, 2012, 05:13:10 PM
I've never seen an online community in which open applications for mod/admin positions caused anything but drama.

Check out Wikipedia's "Requests for admin" process. Drama to the nth degree.
34  Other / Meta / Re: Show new replies - whitelist thread on: December 06, 2012, 05:10:39 PM
I think there is an option in the settings somewhere to automatically watch pages you have posted too. This makes the watchlist mimick the "show new replies to your posts" behavior with the advantage of being able to remove them later.
35  Other / Meta / Re: Can we block "print pages" in robots.txt? on: December 06, 2012, 05:08:50 PM
not really hard to remove them from the url and hit enter just saying

Humans working for computers...  Huh

theymos can make a robots.txt with these lines added:

User-agent: *
...(other stuff)
Disallow: /index.php?action=printpage
Disallow:  /index.php?wap2

Computers working for humans...  Grin

Ya, same thing happened to me. I figured out what happened though.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transfer My Bitcoin from slow computer to faster computer on: December 06, 2012, 05:02:02 PM
You could just send the money to the new wallet. However I suppose there is the concern that someone may send to an old address later.
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [COMMUNITY] Taaki, never tell anyone you are involved with Bitcoin ever again. on: December 06, 2012, 04:52:18 PM
The best way to shun someone is to ignore them. Negative attention often feeds such people.
39  Economy / Goods / Re: Gold 1926 2 1/2 Dollar Indian Coin on: December 06, 2012, 04:42:47 PM
...They're simply indistinguishable from the real ones. The gold is cold, heavy and has a natural patina.

Unless the fake is made from real gold then it will be very much distinguishable from the real one. Given the price I doubt it is made from real gold so it will not be nearly as heavy as the real one. Perhaps from looking alone you could not tell, but if someone picked it up they would know right away.

Your title is misleading. I came here because the title indicated a gold coin only to read that it was a replica.
40  Economy / Goods / [SOLD] For sale 1/10th oz Gold Eagle coin on: December 06, 2012, 04:33:36 PM
Up for sale is a 1/10th oz American Gold Eagle coin. The date is "MCMLXXXVII" which I think is 1987. The coin contains a full 1/10th of a troy oz(3.11 grams) of gold. The American Gold Eagle is one of the most recognized bullion coins in the world.

I am asking 13.82BTC and shipping is included in the price.

I can post a picture if anyone wants, but my camera sucks so much it does not capture small objects well.

Please contact me if you would like to see my trade history.
