If you wanna talk about Github, then do you remember, Lisk didn't even release their GitHub link until MAINNET Launch!

Okay. GitHub & Lisk is long ago, I don't know anymore.

A quote from our first blog post ever which was published at the same second when we went public with Lisk idea (30th January). Lisk is open source since the very beginning and everything is being developed in public.  Cool

Quote
To better cater for developers we started a GitHub organization and added a new documentation section to our website.

Lisk Taps Joel Fernández as New Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Lisk, the blockchain application platform, has announced the appointment of Joel Fernández as Chief Operating Officer. The announcement was made concurrently with a new, ramped up call for developers to join the project, with openings for front-end and back-end developers to join their growing team.

Upon his promotion to COO, Fernández, originally from Puerto Rico, moved to Berlin in order to advance the Lisk core team’s efficiency in development and outreach. Previously, Fernández served as Community Manager of Lisk since its inception...

How many months since ICO? And yet nothing of relevance was done for LSK... what a shame.
The team obv needs more coders, can't understand why didn't they get more asap.

Here you see everything of relevance what was developed for Lisk: http://forum.lisk.io/viewtopic.php?f=13&p=8740#p8740

Hey Max, can I borrow your fancy coat until I break even Cheesy

I'm sure you don't want it. It's old and beat-up everywhere. I'm glad you like it though. Cheesy

-- snip --

I really never meant to bash. Your community drove me away from Lisk.
I was and always am a supporter. You don't seem to take criticism well do you?

You are not a supporter, you are creating hate and uncertainty. That's all there is. I don't care what you say about me, but stop pointing fingers to the community, which "drove you away from Lisk". It's not true.

There is lot of tension around Lisk, lot of members fallows just this thread as news source, and this thread doesn't look well last few months.

Easy tip for you Max, make daily based posts here, just like you was at the beginning, with updates, or just replay, people will feel more connected with team and have more faith. Or hire marketing manager, he don't need to start with marketing, but he will surely know how to calm down community and make things go smooth.

This week we had the Weekly Summary 006 and the Community Meeting announcement. Last week we had the Weekly Summary, Lisk Nano update, Lisk Community Thank you, and Lisk v0.4.0 update. We will continue to do our best to deliver constant updates to this thread, as we have done so since the beginning. Thank you a lot for the hint. Smiley

Please note, the tension is created by a few individuals. The real action happens in the Lisk.Chat.

How could you say you're focusing on the platform if you're not immersing developers in creating blockchain apps?
The docs are so application specific, even if they followed it they'd basically be creating just 1 type of thing.

Imagine you are sitting in a bus. You want to drive from France to Portugal. What you are saying is, "why are you driving through Spain, when you can be in Portugal directly?". Well, you can't. You have to concentrate on the foundation first, once this is solid, you can concentrate on the SDK. The docs are early alpha examples.

Btw. Emerge, welcome back. You could have notified me that you are posting a bashing article on Lisk, go away for a few months, not even say me that you are not interested anymore in being an ambassador, and now come back to bash Lisk on the forums. Smiley

Anyway, your bashing doesn't work. We are hard at work here and our platform is progressing very nicely.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: October 22, 2016, 06:11:57 AM
Lisk is still to be considered in beta (imho) and it's not ready at all to accept a working dapp or blockchain app. I think in the 1-2 quarter of this incoming year , they will start to release blockchain apps and most important the community forging.

Yes, we all know that.. but what's the point of all the hype, the docs, the contests and the platform in the first place if we're focusing on Lisk as a currency than as a blockchain app platform in the first place? Does that not beat the purpose.

The first iPhone had no 3rd party apps. Without the PS4 there would be no PS4 games. Without Windows no .exe programmes. Without Lisk no Lisk blockchain apps.

We are focusing on the platform. The currency is one part of that.

The people in this topic are hilarious. Just look at the dude above me. Sums it right up.

All I hear is "lisk great dapp soon max network wow all in asia hire new devs wait for forging lisk 10x ico lisk is future".

Lisk is on the same level as Voxelus. Much ado about nothing. No innovative technology, no special use case. It's a copy-paste by amateurs who've indeed done well for themselves. But not because they're amazing, but because of the 2016 ICO bubble that I've called back in March this year.

Can you make money off LSK? Sure. if you're a decent trader you can make money off anything. It might reach 40k again one day. But it's not gonna moon. You'd have been better off trading other cryptos these past six months.

Welcome back Vidale,

I just wanted to tell you that Lisk started the 2016 ICO hype. Wink

See you around.

Everyone, in about 2h 40 minutes our technical community meeting starts. Would be cool to see you there.

Cheers!

Lisk Nano v0.1.1 — Release Announcement

The latest Lisk Nano client v0.1.1 has been released, and is now available for download via our download servers.

Lisk Nano stems from the belief that our users should be able to access their Lisk accounts anywhere, anytime, and from any device in the world. This kind of untethered accessibility is an important factor for the Lisk team but until now there were some obstacles in that regard. Installing the Lisk client on Windows and macOS computers is still quite the complicated task and we still need conduct feasibility research in order to provide native one-click clients.

I'm trying to send out Lisk, but I keep getting an error of "Expected type string but found type null".   If I try to send out from the Lisk Nano client, I get "Invalid transaction timestamp" error.   Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong or how to fix this?

Just figured this one out if anyone has a similar issue.  Data and Time must be set on automatic sync on the computer.

Did you ever made a transaction from that account?

@LiskHQ:

I looked a bit into the gGmbH (gemeinnützige Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung) you guys are trying to set up and have few concerns if it's the right choice for your company. This is not intended as fud and please correct me if I'm totally wrong:

A gemeinnützige Gmbh is roughly translated a "limited non-profit company" or "non-profit limited liability company" which intends to act in a social manner and which is not profit oriented. This would put "Lisk" in the category of Social Entrepreneurship with the intent to develop, fund and implement solutions to social, cultural or environmental issues. Now I guess your main goal by forming a gGmbH is to get tax advantages (which are very high in Germany). gGmbHs are mainly charitable organizations focusing on philanthropic goals or social well-being ( educational, religious, cultural, scientific).

So my main concern is: How does Lisk fit into this category? Lisk may be scientific and research oriented. But at the same time a lot of aspects are   for profit oriented (offering cryptocurrency, being listed on several exchanges etc). Are these aspects the reason for the delay?

I hope you could clear this up in your next blog post or meeting.

Thx

Edit: I guess that's also why the ICO investments had to be declared as "donations"

A gGmbH first and foremost is simply a non-profit company (focus on company, not foundation!). Reasons for being non-profit are often "to develop, fund, and implement solutions to social, cultural or environmental issues". However, there are also other examples of non-profit companies like various tech foundations show. Being a company puts it a little bit more into the commercial aspect while all profits go back into the company.

The reason for delay is that Germany knows relatively little about blockchain technology. We will post an update soon.

Cheers,
Max
thanks for giving some insight about this dev, looking forward to more updates regarding to this coin project good luck mate keep it going forward.

Please let me say that we are here for years ahead. We are not going anywhere. You can expect a lot more updates in the future. Wink
