Great newsletter, thanks to the team for their ongoing efforts and good attitude once again! https://news.spectreproject.io/january-2020/

Regarding the "marketing funding" section, maybe it would make sense to approach VCs or business angels from the traditional investing world? This is a very attractive offer for an extremely small amount of money, and you might get other benefits such as an improved social network, visibility, marketing advice, organizational support, possibly additional (voluntary) funding and so on.  Smiley

I noticed that the link on the bottom now says "https://twitter.com/Spectrecoin", but the HTML link still goes to https://twitter.com/SpectreCash. Should be easy to fix.

I'm working on a new website that will be easier to maintain than the current one. It will be even more minimalistic and should only serve as a starting point for diving into the actual Titcoin communities like the one on Reddit. The benefit will be that it will be easier to keep up-to-date so it will always include the most recent information.

The new website is online at https://titcoin.github.io/ now. Cool

It is based on a native Github Pages theme, which makes it substantially easier to maintain and update than the previous version, which required a local CMS on my side. If you would like to make a suggestion or would like to see certain information being added, let me know!  Smiley

Ugh, just found this project. Seems that I am a bit late to the party, but still a nice one! Probably one of the best inventions since the "brain.exe" intelligent antivirus program that can detect any malware. I spent hours trying to download brain.exe back in the days!  Grin

Titcoin News

Hello everyone, here are the current news for Titcoin!  Cheesy

  • The block explorer is extended and fully operational.
  • The hash rate is good but somewhat unsteady. If you decide to start mining Titcoin, please run it 24/7 and don't just mine for an hour.  Wink
  • Here is a nice double tit drop by our community member Eliza posted yesterday! If you like it, maybe drop her some Titcoins in return!  Smiley
  • My roadmap for 2020 includes adding an automated Titcoin bot for Reddit that can be funded by users and rewards the highest voted post on our subreddit each day! This will scale well and will encourage community participation.
  • I'm working on a new website that will be easier to maintain than the current one. It will be even more minimalistic and should only serve as a starting point for diving into the actual Titcoin communities like the one on Reddit. The benefit will be that it will be easier to keep up-to-date so it will always include the most recent information.

That's basically it, feel free to comment or make suggestions, every idea is welcome!  Smiley

Hello everyone,

the block explorer at https://www.blockexperts.com/tit needs a renewal once again. Before I pay the explorer, would anyone else here be interested in contributing to the block explorer? It has been a very reliable service and has many nice features a historical graph display of the difficulty and mining power.  Cool

The current price is 0.0022 BTC per month. If you would like to fund the block explorer for a few months that would a great opportunity to contribute to Titcoin and help the project to thrive and survive.  Wink  If you would like to help, you can make a post here or directly pay the block explorer via the link in the yellow box on the explorer page.

Please check out our Reddit community at https://www.reddit.com/r/showmytitcoin/ and join our community chat room over there!

Best regards, Gandalf86

I'd like to say thanks to whoever is mining now! During the last few days we've had a continuous base network mining power of 150-200 gH/s, which helps the chain to run smoothly!  Smiley Obviously at this difficulty Titcoin is not suitable for real-world transactions but for tipping girls on https://www.reddit.com/r/showmytitcoin this is perfectly fine.  Wink

There's also one change on the wiki page (https://www.reddit.com/r/showmytitcoin/wiki/index). I have declared Titcoin explicitly to be a toy currency for porn here. This is due to the fact that the difficulty is so low and we don't have any reliable crypto exchanges atm. So this helps newcomers to get the right intuition about Titcoin and not think it is trying to become the next Bitcoin (which would be a ridiculous claim anyways, obviously).

Also I think that taking things less seriously can actually increase the chance of adoption. People are most likely to adopt a cryptocurrency like Titcoin for fun, but if there is financial interest involved then many people will avoid it (due to being "shady" or whatever). Let me know what you think about this.  Smiley
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SPECTRECOIN | Anonymous | Stealth-Staking | Tor | Ring Signatures on: November 18, 2019, 05:07:29 PM

From Discord:
November 2019 newsletter is out. We confirm that we are re-branding Spectrecoin and we have a cool naming competition where you can win XSPEC by taking part even if your idea will not get used. Development update. A reminder that we have 300,000 XSPEC for community engagement, ideas, development and other suggestions.

https://news.spectreproject.io/november-2019/
https://www.publish0x.com/spectrecoin-xspec-official-blog-page/november-2019-xzrrml
https://twitter.com/Spectrecoin/status/1195102690487013376

Very exciting developments! I would like to congratulate the XSPEC team for their ongoing efforts and very good ideas. The decision to rebrand is totally correct and will help to get the required attention at exactly the right phase of the project. The "payment proof" is an ingenious idea and will (among other benefits) make it possible to trade SPECTRE anonymously via Bisq.

I don't know a good alternative name yet, but will try to think of something.  Wink  The biggest difficulty is that basically every ticker (with 3-4 characters) that is or represents an English word already seems to be taken. xD

Just a small remark, in the newsletter there is a link to https://twitter.com/SpectreCash at the bottom, which does not seem to exist any more.

Nice!
If it's miners you are specifically looking for right now, have you considered switching to a more GPU friendly algo?
i'm sure many people could maybe throw a card or two at it, but who has a SHA256 machine close by anymore? Cheesy we all moved to dc's and are stuck mining BTC 24/7 for a hope of a ROI someday Tongue Tongue
sorry if you mentioned by a reasoning why as to TIT has stayed SHA2d

Definitely a valid point, you are not the first one suggesting to move to a different algorithm. My view on this is that anyone who is mining can also mine a different coin which is more profitable, and trade the returns for SHA256 hashes on a mining rental site like Nicehash. So the algorithm ultimately doesn't matter! The network hash rate as such does not matter because it depends on the algorithm, the only thing matters is the amount of MONEY being spent on mining (regardless of whether it is in the form of electricity expenses at home, or rented hashes). That is analogous to how the price per unit of a coin does not matter because it depends on the supply, the only thing that is relevant is the total market capitalization.

So with the parameters of algorithm and network hashes being summarized as "mining costs", the remaining relevant parameters are:
  • Number of people mining (so that not a single person has >50% of the power)
  • Continuity of mining power, as opposed to jumping on and off the network (this balances itself out as the number of miners grows).

Expenses for buying mining equipment are one-time payments and therefore don't appear in this calculation, but then again, instead of buying mining equipment one can also simply rent very cheap hashes on various sites nowadays. In that sense, using SHA256 is actually beneficial because it is the most widespread algorithm due to Bitcoin.

In my view, mining is simply a different form of investing - you spend money/electricity and you get back coins - so for real profits you have to carefully select altcoins to invest in, whose value might rise in the future.

Does that make sense?  Smiley

We are working on it ...

Our Chrysolite Dev (Development) Mine is testing the daemon and stratum, and will be committing it to the main (Production) Chrysolite Mine once testing is done.

I am back on by the way Wink

#crysx

Great news! Thanks all the work you are putting in to support this project!

And welcome back!  Smiley

PS: For everyone interested, you can check out the current network status using our block explorer here: https://www.blockexperts.com/tit

Hello everyone, here are a few Titcoin news for you!  Cheesy

  • Titcoin flair assignment on r/ShowMyTitCoin is automatically done via Automoderator now. This will scale much better when more girls start providing a Titcoin address and removes the ability of users to wrongfully add a Titcoin flair to their post.
  • There is somebody selling 1 million TIT on Reddit, check out this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/showmytitcoin/comments/dvpr9g/sell_i_sell_1_million_titcoins_whats_your_best/
  • We need more miners who mine steadily, unfortunately the chain and payments get delayed when miners are jumping on and off the coin frequently. If you can provide some continuous mining power, you can support this project by throwing some hashes onto the network.  Wink The difficulty is very low so every small but steady mining power matters.  Smiley
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Titcoin [TIT] - The cryptocurrency for porn! on: October 31, 2019, 10:38:21 PM
They are active in discord, discord.gg/r572RNp,<---- NSFW
i only spent a bit of time on there websites as it has many titties and i have many kiddies hehe so im not sure of any other contact info then discord :p
but ya man i definitally agree on what your saying about blockchain inflation : / guess thats why most projects have quieted down now ye..

Ok thanks! I'm not really using Discord any more because it is discriminating Tor users, but for exchanging email addresses it might work.

Yes there is only one other thing one can do to keep projects alive, which in fact has nothing to with blockchains at all ... it is called persistence. Wink Most projects will disappear due to a general lack of profitability, which is why most of them initially started. Only if we are persistent at what we are doing and keep doing it anyway, whether it's profitable or not, we can ensure that the cryptocurrency keeps being active. (Which, btw., is exactly what I am doing here with Titcoin)

Interestingly not only cryptocurrencies are affected by this, but also maintaining coin listings is getting increasingly unprofitable for cryptocurrency exchanges, which is why many of them go bankrupt. There are still quite a few challenges for the cryptocurrency community to overcome before mainstream adoption can take place.

Thanks for the response. But yes I think it cleared up alot. So one question can the original devs come back and update and market it Titcoin? Just curious because if they have the original GitHub and twitter what would stop them from coming back and what would that mean.

I have still been in contact occasionally with Ed Mansfield, the original founder of Titcoin. He very much supports what we are doing here but he doesn't have any time to get involved personally. Some time ago, the original Titcoin team handed over the entire project to the adult software development company JoyToilet (because Titcoin was unprofitable, hah!) and gave them access to all the accounts (Github, Twitter ... see the ANN for more details). Then JoyToilet also went bankrupt last year and sold all the accounts to TittieCoin. So unfortunately the original team does not have access to the accounts any more.  Undecided

It doesn't really matter though because we can just make new accounts. The Titcoin community that is being active on Reddit nowadays has nothing to do with the Titcoin community from the old days any more.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Titcoin [TIT] - The cryptocurrency for porn! on: October 30, 2019, 11:11:07 PM
When u posted in ESP thread i saw your maintaining this coin now Smiley
you should talk to DPorn, they are slowly getting established in this emerging crypto+adult industry, and maybe all they are missing is some kind of partnership with an established chain (titcoin?)

Thanks for the hint!  Smiley  I will contact them and see what comes out of it.  Wink  Do you know if they have an email address or contact form? I can't find anything on their homepage lol.

Quote
idk, maybe something could work, projects need to try work together within their subject matter, so many fragmented ideas/coins : /

Yes you are right, it's a real problem and is exactly the problem why blockchains themselves carry no value any more. There is a "blockchain inflation" similar to how coins on a chain have inflation.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡[ANN]⚡ ▐░Espers [ESP]░▌▐░PoW/PoS░▌▐░HMQ1725 Algo░▌ ▐░New Features░▌ on: October 30, 2019, 09:01:06 AM
the market really got saturated fast yes, there's probably been 2000 coins launched since ESPs birth
should take all the small coins he helped work on and super merge them with all features combined Tongue

My personal theory for altcoin markets is that the value of a coin does not only depend on the security of the blockchain, but also on the non-replaceability of the blockchain itself. For example, if there are zero users, then anybody could simply clone the wallet and make his own blockchain for free. So the value would be zero. Adding features to a wallet can maybe increase the security of the user's funds, but does not improve its uniqueness because a wallet can always be copied for free.

So the only value that lies within Espers (and similar hundreds of altcoins that have no practical value yet) is simply due to the actual number of users/investors who have bet money on the blockchain, so for them it is non-replaceable. That's why Espers was so successful in the beginning because the airdrop ("reverse ICO") and close interaction with the community brought many users to it. (There is also "hidden value" in many blockchains during crypto winter because many people leave the space of cryptocurrency, desillusioned, but might come back later. So during those times, the apparent number of users is lower than the potential number of users.)

This beautifully aligns with the mechanisms of free capitalist markets, because as the number of users/investors drops (by selling their coins), the availability of coins on the free market increases, so the price decreases. So in a sense, blockchains are the perfect metaphor for capitalist markets. I still have to make sense of this.  Cheesy

idk about that one haha
most of the OP links are even dead at this point, what happened to ESP? Sad
i never thought this would die... dev needs to do another swap maybe a new algo fork
liven this shit up again, market buys are weak right now, basically non existant Sad

Hmm I don't think it's dead, although I can't use Discord any more right now ... CC just posted a large amount of text a few posts ago, explaining what he is doing. Thanks for pointing out the dead links, I hope it will be fixed.  Smiley  Crypto winter is affecting all altcoins, especially those that are not being used in production yet, like Espers. Many coins do not survive but I'm sure this one will, because it has one of the most dedicated devs in crypto space.  Cheesy

Maybe one effect that crypto winter has is that crypto/token prices converge to a more realistic value ... let's not be naive, having a blockchain and an ambitious mission alone does not bring any value to coins any more nowadays. What will determine the price in the future will be the real value added to the world through the project.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Titcoin [TIT] - The cryptocurrency for adults! on: October 25, 2019, 10:13:28 AM
Is this coin still affiliated with ttc coin I know they owned this coin at sometime. Just trying to wrap my head around what’s going on here?!

Yes I can imagine it looks a little confusing from the outside. The fact is that Titcoin was never really affiliated with TittieCoin. The TTC developers bought the Github and Twitter accounts of Titcoin about 1.5 years ago and claimed that it's their coin now, but that's basically it. They never released any updates. The only other thing they did was offering a swap to their newly premined TTC v2 chain back then. So I simply created a new Titcoin wallet in a new repository that is used by most Titcoin users nowadays. (https://github.com/titcoin/titcoin)

The lesson of this is that a cryptocurrency can never be "owned" by anyone, which I understand can be a confusing concept to wrap one's head around. The developer of a wallet can decide what the wallet does, but users are free to choose among existing wallets as long as they are compatible with the existing blockchain. Or even make their own wallet. So the actual consensus depends on what most users of the blockchain agree on.

Hope that helps? Smiley
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Titcoin [TIT] - The cryptocurrency for adults! on: October 20, 2019, 06:44:34 PM
Good tits should have good discount =) 100% )

One early idea of a Titcoin community member was that girls could pay for their beer by showing their tits.  Grin  Of course it was a joke, but the "announcement video" is still online: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ud3WOlBoHVw

So this is only POW coins? DO not have POS?

Yes it is only POW, using SHA256d like Bitcoin. Titcoin is one of the oldest cryptocurrencies, there weren't so many options back then.  Wink
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Titcoin [TIT] - The cryptocurrency for adults! on: October 20, 2019, 09:08:41 AM
I can feel that it is really hard to market this kind of platform here.
And not a lot of women/men in this field know your existence.
Do you have any plans how you can survive this tough market?
There's a reason why the original developers sold their project.
But you manage to get a hold on this. So I think, you have something in the horizon for this one.

Yes, for me personally this is an experiment to evaluate the potential of cryptocurrencies beyond simply being another payment method. Most cryptocurrencies today are either utility tokens (to represent some kind of limited resource, for example shares of a company or a gigabyte of storage), for example Ethereum, or are trying to become a replacement for money, for example Bitcoin or Monero. For replacing money, you need wide acceptance so there can only be very few of those (max 5 or so). Most cryptocurrencies will simply disappear due to a lack of acceptance.

But I think that the potential of cryptocurrencies goes beyond that. The blockchain encodes a consensus about the distribution of tokens. Those tokens don't need to have a certain monetary value. They can be used as an internal currency within a community. So what I am trying is giving coins to members of a certain community, in this case the self-made amateur pornography community, educate them about cryptocurrency usage, give them free coins and see what they will do with it!  Cheesy

So far it works well, many girls have installed the Titcoin wallet, which is the first and only cryptocurrency wallet they have ever used. Some are posting regularly in order to get more coins. This is a totally different approach to cryptocurrency adoption. I'm leaving open WHAT they will do with it, I'm only creating the framework necessary so that they can start using it, while at the same time keeping the supply limited (only girls who post nudes can get coins).

So the interesting question is, will some market emerge out of this? For example, a market for trading nudes? Will some company appear that is interested in girls who are creating pornography? Maybe a sex toy manufacturer, maybe a webcam site? Then markets for Titcoin will appear. I strongly believe in the mechanisms of a free market and in the rules of demand and supply, so if there is any market for this then it will emerge automatically at some point. And those markets will determine the price of the coin, not the other way round. That's my perspective for this coin and for the future of cryptocurrencies in general.

LOL! project looks like a joke, BUT! Who hate a tits? Good luck hehehe

Yes, right?  Grin  The fun aspect should not be neglected. How much do you think is a verified pair of tits worth? If a girl is a customer and says, here is a picture of MY tits, how large of a discount will she get? Maybe $1, maybe $10? Maybe just $0.001, but definitely larger than zero.  Wink That's up for the market to decide.  Cheesy
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Titcoin [TIT] - The cryptocurrency for adults! on: October 18, 2019, 07:34:35 PM
Hi people, please support this project by running more miners!

We have an active amateur porn community in our subreddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/showmytitcoin/) and there are dozens of girls who are posting nudes and are receiving coins on a regular basis. We have a lot of fun over there, but we need support from the cryptocurrency communtiy! Please help the girls to keep receiving titcoins by running a Titcoin miner!  Cheesy

I understand that pornography is not for everyone, and most people are not interested in a cryptocurrency for porn. But I believe that it has a lot of potential, and after all it is FUN so even if it doesn't work out, it will still be worth it!  Wink  I'm trying to get toy manufacturers on board to offer discounts for Titcoin to the girls who are posting images of themselves and are getting tipped with Titcoin.  Cool

If you have any of these skills:

  • Marketing on social media
  • PR
  • Mining
  • Mobile wallet development
  • or using a cryptocurrency wallet and tipping girls for nudes  Grin

... then you can join us! The main community platform is Reddit, come over there and say hello in the community chat!  Smiley
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SPECTRECOIN | Anonymous | Stealth-Staking | Tor | Ring Signatures on: October 13, 2019, 08:05:04 PM
Just parsing terms here... if "oblivion" is meant as a low price per XSPEC/SPECTRE unit; that's a supply-and-demand issue at root. Specifically, those who have held this coin are selling it (for whatever reasons) in greater proportion than those buying it. Perhaps some of them are devs or whales that need to pay some bills, perhaps it's because the BTC chart doesn't look great technically

Yeah some whale is massively cashing out right now. If you look at the trades on Livecoin, it's not a steady selling pressure, they're always eating the entire set of buy walls at once. And if you're looking at the selling side of the order book, you can see some patterns there as well. That's a single person, he/she is not going to be able to keep doing this forever.  Wink  On the long term this is good because it evens out the coin distribution. The more people hold coins, the better because it strengthens the consensus.

Btw. the Bitcoin chart doesn't look so bad IMO because it's still aligned with the exponential wave pattern that we've been witnessing during the previous halving periods. But that's a bit off-topic here I guess.  Wink

Thank you man!

What a bad news about coinexchange. I really liked the exchange. This cryptowinter is taking its share.

Full ACK. Coinexchange was Espers most active market, thanks for the reminder! I'm sure many people still have their coins over there. Strangely enough I didn't get a notification email about this from CE yet.

Apparently people are trading much less during crypto winter because everyone is just holding, lol. Good for the holders, bad for exchanges.
