1  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Colloidal Silver - 750ml on: February 24, 2013, 08:21:59 PM

Sorry, but this image is pure bullshit. Neither silver nor DNA are magnetic, and even if they were the "magnetic binding" would undo itself once the virus particle got away from the silver particle. Secondly, human DNA and viral DNA are in most senses the same, so anything that would affect the viral DNA would probably also affect your DNA - although to be fair, human cells are much larger than viruses so because of the distance the magnetic effect on the viral DNA would probably be larger than on the human DNA, but the problem with that reasoning is that it presumes that such an effect exists in the first place.

Now, if you wish to claim an oligodynamic effect you should know that viruses are relatively insensitive to such effects, because they have very little in the way of enzymes. Virus particles are pretty much boxes of blueprints that are delivered to the host cells, and then the host cells manufacture enzymes and whatever else they need according to the specifications.

It might be helpful if you put some examples of your work online, because there are so many "I'll write your paper" services out there which don't actually do that but just provide people with one of the many thousands of papers which have been uploaded by people who scored well.
Not to mention that just because someone claims to be skilled at something it doesn't mean that they are, Dunning-Kruger and so on. Anyone can claim to have five PhDs and an MD (with genitals big enough to frighten people to boot), providing a sample is harder to fake and easier to detect if it is faked.

Thanks for the response.

And the claim of impurity I do recall an extra silver coin was sent because it was his first ingot just in case it wasn't on par with purity the extra coin's weight was to cover that.
The problem is that we don't know what caused those readings. It could have been improper assaying (uncalibrated reader, test done under wrong conditions), it could have been something particular to that batch (fake/impure silver in the batch) or it could be something inherent in his work process (his methods/equipment introduces significant amounts of impurities in the silver). That last possibility is the troublesome one, as it would affect these later ingots as well, which is why it is important to know if it can be ruled out.

I do not mean to dredge up old drama, but since the issue of purity was raised about your earlier .99 ingots, have you done any assaying or similar to check/verify the quality of your .925 ingots and your work process?

Hello Bengt. I didn't skip over it, I posted that I would publish my JLPT certificate in my book but not online as it contains my real name.

I'm also a little curious myself; why are you so interested? Do you speak Japanese or are you interested in learning?
No knowledge of Japanese outside of the odd word/phrase and no interest in learning, I am solely here because I enjoy watching internet drama/comedy. The reason that I am interested in that particular question is because I find the idea of someone incompetent in a language trying to teach other the very same language - sort of like the classic Monty Python Hungarian phrasebook sketch.

Having only studied the language for 1½ year would indicate that you are not proficient enough to teach it to others, but to be fair it is possible that you are a language prodigy and knowing Chinese would make it easier to pick up kanji. As I don't know Japanese I can't judge for myself, so knowing what level of JLPT you passed could act sort of as a proxy. As such it is a fair question from the point of view of a prospective student as well, they'd like it established that you fill your boots.

I fully understand that, and honestly I'm not really interested in viewing your actual certificate. If you just say "I passed the [N4 or whatever]" that's good enough for me.

I've taken the JLPT, I've written books about it.

Are you claiming that you passed it?  Ah what level?
Usagi, you skipped over this particular bit and I too am curious about it.

You should disclose to potential investors that you are not fully skilled for Japanese language teaching. You have less than two years of Japanese language writing/speaking:

Kongzi: Japanese

Posted on June 23, 2011 by Usagi
Okay I finally decided to start learning Japanese. I’ve been “learning” Chinese for 20 years, don’t hate me for switching horses midstream, okay? I will always love the old horse too.
Anyways.

As soon as I started learning Japanese I realized that I would have to first learn Hiragana. Hiragana is of course the primary writing system, or “kana” in Japanese. So I dutifully started entering Hiragana into Kongzi. I immediately discovered much to my chagrin that for all the “talk” I made about using Kongzi to learn Japanese as well as Chinese, it wasn’t nearly as convenient. Here’s what I was faced with:

Usagi is apparently introducing see one, do one, teach one to language studies.

So we know you pay for power.
I don't, but the owner of the house lets me see the bill.
A bit late, but if you actually want to pull something like this it would be better to tell the owner to give you $5 each month. That way you don't have to spend say $10 of the owner's money to get 80 cents of your own. Win-win!

Coming from the gaming side of things, 70+ is ok but I'm not sure if I'd want to run it 24/7 (with certain cards, such as the HD4850, you had no choice though). 80+ is definitely bad.

As others have said, I would play around a bit with the fan settings if I were you. After a certain point (often 80-85% in my experience) the fans move air with equal/less efficiency and are just generating heat, wasting energy and wearing out more quickly.

Theoretically it is better for you to mine solo, as pool owners generally take a share of the mining revenue or similar meaning that you get less out of it. The big advantage of joining a pool is that it gives you a relatively steady stream, unlike mining on your own where you will have spikes of income followed by large periods of nothing.

yea but people are considering bitcoin to be money laundering too  Huh

You seem to be confusing two things.  eGold (the currency) wasn't shutdown because it was a virtual currency.  e-gold ltd (the company) was shutdown because the operators failed to implement anti-money laundering procedures.  They violated existing laws related to money transmission and their shutdown had absolutely nothing to do with it being a virtual currency.  If they operated the same network using USD they still would have been shutdown.  Had e-gold ltd implemented AML procedures and complied with other laws it is entirely possible they would still be operating.  As a side note it looks like the operators were also embezzling as the amount of gold reserves was significantly less than the amount of eGold issued (a problem w/ centralized opaque currencies) but that wasn't discovered until after the fact.

It just so happens that the only issuer and redeemer of eGold was e-gold ltd and thus closing down the company killed the currency.
To continue this train of thought, the Bitcoin analogy would be if Mt. Gox or similar was shut down for failing to implement AML - Bitcoin still lives on as it is entirely separate from the exchanges.
