941  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to SAFELY sell Bitcoins on eBay on: May 09, 2013, 10:07:10 PM
Never had a problem. But I have to say, I have payed for shipping through eBay, which gives the tracking number to PayPal. PayPal is on the side of the buyer, but limited primarily to  the extent that they have proof the item arrived. They are not concerned if the customer doesn't "like" the product-in that case they would just return it. All you're sending is a worthless piece of paper-why would PayPal believe it if a customer said they received something different?

I can't even tell you how many coins I've sold on there. Usually I do it in like .1, .5 increments. Its GOOD money. People on eBay know about bitcoins, but thats about all they know (they have no idea how to "get" bitcoins. So, they have no problem paying a premium to buy into something they otherwise wouldn't have the knowledge to do).
Well, I like the idea of waiting to fund it until the buyer confirms they have received it.  Seems like a pretty fool-proof way of doing it TBH.
Exactly. So you have a record they in-fact received exactly what they paid for. And when you take a screenshot on blockchain thats even further documentation.

943  Economy / Goods / BUYERS BEWARE! on: May 09, 2013, 09:38:25 PM
Recently, I realized the extent some scammers go to make some quick, dirty money. It shocked me.
The story is, I collect coins and have since I was a kid. I was always disappointed with the lack of numismatic items being available for sale in bitcoins, it was always bullion instead. So, I made a website:

http://www.bitcoinnumismatics.com/ and here is a link to the specific thread I'm talking about:

http://www.bitcoinnumismatists.com/forum.html#/20130503/pcgs-1889-cc-silver-morgan-dollar-au50-2590749/

One guy posted a listing on there for a graded coin ("Graded" means it was given a ranking based on its condition. There are two prestigious grading companies-NGC and PCGS). It was an AU 50, PCGS graded 1889 Carson City Morgan Dollar. This coin is referred to as "The Monster Silver Dollar". I was impressed the guy had it, and I asked what else he had in his collection (if you own a $7,000 coin you're probably a collector and own some more). He said he had no other coins. I found that rather suspicious. I looked closer at the picture he posted...I have several PCGS graded coins, and something about his didn't look right. I got one of my PCGS slabs and compared it to his picture. The difference was clear as day. The most obvious sign that it was a fake is the spacing between characters and words. On a real PCGS slab, the letters/numbers are very close together. On his fake one, they are further apart. Do an image search and you will see what I mean.

Of course I know, and most people probably do too, that China is flooding the market with all kinds of fake silver and gold bullion, and even some coins. I had HEARD that there was a such thing as fake graded coins, but never seen one-even online. But, after determining his was a fake, I found this listing on this website: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/PCGS-AU50-1889-CC-Morgan-coin/666985659.html
That is the exact thing he bought. $150 may seem like a lot, but when the real thing is worth $7,000, it isn't.

I suppose this is just another warning to watch out for scammers. They don't all work in the same way. But they are ALWAYS after the same thing-your money.
944  Economy / Trading Discussion / RE-EDIT**EDIT*: How to SAFELY sell Bitcoins on eBay on: May 09, 2013, 09:22:27 PM
**There is always a risk selling digital goods. PayPal was initially the culprit that made it such that I could not sell bitcoins on eBay. That was after I had done A LOT of transactions involving bitcoins. I would bet that if you do one or two transactions selling bitcoins and using PayPal as your accepted Payment method, you'll be ok. But once you start doing more volume (like I was), you appear on PayPal's radar. I honestly think they target volume-sellers to sort of make a statement. Anyway, the important thing to realize is that even though it certainly seems this way, eBay DOES NOT equal PayPal. eBay owns PayPal, pushes it as accepted method of payment, and thus 95% of sellers use it to accept payment. However, PayPal IS NOT the only accepted form of payment by eBay. You can use your credit card merchant account (if you have one), Skrill (owned by PayPal, I believe), ProPay, one more I want to say, and "payment upon [local] pickup". So, so long as PayPal is not your accepted form of payment, my method of selling bitcoins will generally work. All it is really is a system to make sure that someone cannot come back and say they never received the item you sold and sent to them. Scammers are clever though, and constantly coming up with methods to take your money. So, just use common sense and awareness to make sure that you aren't taken by a scammer.**

*This is a safe method if you only use it once or twice. After more than 20 transactions, PayPal has restricted my account, saying that their services cannot be used for currency exchange, check cashing, bitcoins and EVEN Bitcoin COLLECTIBLES (like a redeemed Casascius coin). I am fighting this because, for one thing, the restriction on collectibles is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. Also, they say they do not allow their services to be used as currency exchanges. Well, all US currency ever produced is STILL legal tender (as is the case with other countries' currency, too). You know how many listings there are for say, Silver Eagles? With a LEGAL TENDER amount of $1? I could buy that with Euros if I wanted to. If thats not a currency exchange, what is it?*

I wanted to write up this guide, but wasn't sure where to put it. I decided here since it offers instruction, and I know not just newbie members check this board.

Anyways, I want to share with you a completely safe way to sell bitcoins on eBay. eBay and PayPal are covered in an aura of taboo in the bitcoin world. That's because-obviously-scammers use those methods to steal from you. And, both PayPal and eBay like the customer, so if you sell bitcoins for PayPal, you get back a nice fat chargeback.
The problem with selling bitcoins on eBay or for PayPal, by strictly sending them electronically is that there is no physical aspect involved. THAT is why PayPal sides with the buyer-they aren't used to selling digital goods, just tangible things. If you sell Bitcoins for PayPal, on eBay or elsewhere, you thus have to have something tangible involved-and if it has tracking, its virtually impossible to get a chargeback.
I have sold a lot of bitcoins on eBay. This is the way I do it: I simply print out a bitcoin bill (go to bitaddress.org, hit "bulk wallet" and under "generate", put the number of keypairs you would like made. 1 bitcoin bill=1 keypair. Then, go to printcoins.com, hit "print your own" and fill in the initial fields with whatever you want-they're just for fun-I put "Bank of Johnniewalker". In the big dialog box, copy and paste the entire keypair from bitaddress.org. Pick a design, then hit "Generate PDF of bills". If you have thicker paper, customers would be more impressed, but if not don't worry, just print the bill.)
NOW you have something tangible. If you sell through eBay, you can mail w/tracking for $1.69.
You tell the customer that once the bill is made, you destroy all data pertaining to it (and you do-don't be a scammer). Thus, once they receive the bitcoin bill (still it has 0 balance) they need to send you a message with the public address of the bill. Once they give it to you, send the funds to the address, go to blockchain.info, enter the public address, and take a screenshot for confirmation of funds sent.

.....aaaaaaand you're done!

to everyone I can't help (because of geography) I'm sorry. But don't give up, get your coins back!
946  Economy / Services / Re: Bounty Hunter on: May 09, 2013, 07:47:51 PM
I'm begininning to see that there is no shortage of scammers. Some of them, like the ones you guys mentioned, are kind of like household names. I've gotten messages for cases I've never heard of (20 BTC and 10). They're people in my neck of the woods. You know, there are enough people on this site that if people really wanted to, they could become "bounty hunters" where they reside, within 100 mile radius. The key is physical confrontation in an environment they cannot escape. Like, visiting them where they work, or, as it is in a lot of cases, tell the parents of the kid what their kid has done, show them your chatlogs or whatever proof you have and tell them that you are going to report their son to the local police and turn over all the evidence you have. I don't know, being scammed sucks. Yeah I want to do it to make some coins but I know I'll derive satisfaction from it beyond that
947  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Exotic Cars on: May 09, 2013, 05:11:13 AM
Why dont I give up ?
If jerkoffs like 'bitsalame' 'johnniewalker' 'Minor Miner' 'Henchman24' 'tomatocage' were significant enough to me to 'cause' me to 'GIVE UP' then I wouldnt be here posting on this thread & getting tagged a scammer no matter what I do to prove otherwise.

I get it it. Its in your psyche to criticize others, humiliate them and feed off the attention that you get as some kind of moral saviors of the common people from so called 'scammers' but the truth is that you jerks are worse than any scammer Smiley

With guys like you around Bitcion will never be successful but as long as guys like me exist I will make sure that guys like you keep getting Humiliated with every successful transaction that I make, trust me THAT will be my victory over all of you.

Am I annoyed ?
Yes very much because you jerks dont have the slightest bit of proof that this thing I m proposing is a scam yet you keep yelling that over & over like some retarded autistic jerkoffs.

Do I consider you all to be racist ?
yes to a lot extent, and most of you if not all of you. Because I feel that that most of this 'scam' tag is because I said I m an Indian. The internet was full of shitty people like you when I started using it back in 2006 and I knew it that all those things like "Indian ? stay away from me Curry boy" will return and make my every step towards making BTC more available to Indians, a very TOUGH STEP.

So why am I here ?
Same reason as most of you are here, I m here to make MY DREAMS come true andthe only way to do that is by earning money, and I see BTC as a viable source of earning tax free money across borders. But unlike you guys think I dont want to do it by scamming people. Most importantly.

What proof do I have of this NOT being a scam ?
I have provided enough proof already I dont need to babble about it over & over again, the literate people will be able read whatever I have posted here personally.

And besides I am not selling any goods or Services here I am simply planning on connecting people here with a certain contact of mine who has the contacts and resources to help the people here to get what they want.
None of the people here on this forum need to pay me anything and no one is forcing them to buy anything even after I connect them with my contact. They can physically verify all the papers & the vehicles & I suggest if they even smell anything close to a scam to wisely walk away.
I'm not going to lie, fucking with you is a lot of fun. But thats not the [main] reason I do it, and I can vouch for everybody else you mentioned and say their case is probably the same. You say one thing, you contradict it with another. You have sketchy written ALL over you. You have scam on you almost as much. Its people like you who give bitcoins and bitcoiners a bad name. We like to make sure you don't scam some poor person out of their money-and like to have some fun while we do it.
Lets be real here: if I walked into a Bentley dealership to buy a car, I would instantly be greeted and offered some sort of drink and maybe even some Russian caviar (yum). You are essentially the same thing (despite the fact you are "doing this through your friend")-you're a luxury car dealer. How many luxury car dealers vengefully post someone's username in their signature? How many have about 75% of their posts be merely responses to well-deserved criticism? Not any. If you were for real, for one, we wouldn't see nearly as much talk from you. We'd see pictures. Pictures of the cars you claim are available for bitcoins. You posted pictures of some obscure 2008 Porsche and then took them down "for the owner's privacy". BULLSHIT. You took them down before someone else found them on page 68 in a Google Image Search. You aren't for real. You won't sell a single car. Even if that was your original attempt, you won't. Quite frankly I don't know why you continue to post. You just give people more material to work with. THAT is why I truly suggest you give it up. Its for your own good.
948  Economy / Services / Bounty Hunter on: May 09, 2013, 04:57:26 AM
I would like to offer my services. Call me a bounty hunter. I live in Southern CA (the most populated part of the country's most populated state). If you were scammed by someone and know where they reside (at least broadly), I will pursue them within 100 miles of where I live. I'm never one to "jump the gun". I'll do some recon work first. As far as approaching the subject, of course I will not do so with any sort of violent weapon/threat. I will, though, approach them at a moment they can't possibly make a run for it (at their place of work, with family, etc). I am 100% confident I can get them to pay. If what it takes is regular visits, that's what I'll do. But I don't think it will-I'll corner them at an extremely vulnerable moment, they'll have to pay up (I'll even let them use my computer  If they don't have the funds (not "I don't have the funds"-of they actually don't  I won't leave until a payment plan is worked out. And like I said, if it requires check-ups, I'll do check-ups. I'm actually excited at the thought of this. I just graduated undergrad and am thinking about mastering in Criminology and become a private investigator.
Of course, I can't tell you how much I would charge for the service-there's far too many variables. It would all depend on the work and time required. Although, keep in mind that I'm aware I'm not a Private Investigator...I'm just a college grad-for now. If a case is simple, I'd just ask for a fee. If its not and requires "check ups", etc, I would ask for a small percentage of the balance due.
So, if you've been scammed by someone you know resides in Southern California and want to do something about it, send me a PM!

I have a friend from facebook, just like you have a friend you met on facebook.   He is the son of a Nigerian general who died and left him a lot of money.   I could hook the two of you up because he wants to buy expensive cars very badly.   I would need you to send me a few bitcoins first though to cover some of the filing fees he needs to pay to get the $45 million his dad left in a safe deposit box.

can we help each other maybe?
PM'd

Remember if you want to be treated with respect you must first learn to respect others

Smiley Dear retarded brother. Please enlighten others as to HOW THE FUCK will I scam them if I do not charge a penny from them ?

If you have no other job go back to masturbating watching Penolope Cruze Smiley This thread is not meant for jerks like you.

LOL. Just give it up. Even if you were legitimate, any shot you had at selling ANY car (much less a Bentley) is gone.

I figured this might be worth a try. I am interested in buying a book of "Forever" Stamps (and if you have more, I'll be a repeat customer in the future!). They cost $9.20 at the post office. I am willing to pay .063 ($7) for one. As far as shipping-you can just take one off and use it to send the rest lol. Please PM me if you have one lying around. Thanks!

Nobody looking for Casascius Coins huh? Discounts for people who buy in bulk.
Do not take it personally, but I think you aren't getting many bites because of your prices. They are a little high. But they are yours to sell, you can put any price you want on them.
