41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you agree that crypto news generates fake hype? on: November 28, 2018, 05:32:38 PM
Found an article purporting to prove that it does, but not sure if I believe:

https://decryptmedia.com/2018/11/28/infographic-how-crypto-news-generates-fake-ripple-hype/

Have always thought this, though—Ripple, according to the shittest of the shittest crypto sites, is literally ALWAYS "poised to rally" or whatever, and it never does. Yeah, it's the best performing crypto, but the hype that swirls around it (and other currencies) is, like, 90% fabricated.

Well I would say that ripple was probably the most bought coin by people who entered the cryptocurrency market in 2017. Since then there have been a number of crypto related news sites that have popped up that were not around from 2013-2016 so it makes sense that these website owners may be ripple holders.

Ripple has one of the most active subreddits also, its no surprise that news is blown out of proportion because there are a ton of bagholders.

Now this doesn't mean XRP is a shitcoin, far from it, even though it generates alot of hype it still is a viable crypto for the future.

43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: November 27, 2018, 07:49:59 PM
guys buy wall needed or rekt

The fact that you're commenting here means this coin will fall. Really guys. Read his comments to see the other coins he's been pumping.

I was genuinely hoping for an exciting reason this coin was going up. Seems like it's all because of a new exchange listing. That's disappointing.

Do you really think that 1 comment from a newbie on bitcointalk is going to affect price at all? Who cares what some newbie account is spamming in threads, it has zero relevance at all.  Cheesy Cheesy

There are several exciting reasons why this coin is going up, did you look around or do any research? Check out their sub-reddit, look in their discord??

Department homeland security proof of phase 4 IOT security in factom chain, equator mortgage deal, off blocks app teaser....like 20+ authority node operators (companies) building real use cases for the factom protocol. I could post links to all of this but why should i have to do research for others?

Been saying if for years factom belongs top 20

Edit: There will be an AMA hosted this week that will include ALL of the authority node operators including Factom Inc, recalling the last AMA before M3 there was some price action associated. Could happen this time as well, this will be a much bigger AMA.
44  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you ever wonders why we are using this paper as money? on: November 02, 2018, 02:54:15 PM
I have found that most people are uninformed about how fiat money really works, it's astonishing how many people still believe that fiat money is backed by gold.

I am from the USA and I have found that there is a strong (albeit delusional) belief in the dollar, especially from the baby boomer generation who has experienced mostly economic prosperity throughout their entire lives. Nothing against them or anything..I am not a millennial so don't hate me!

In my opinion once someone understands how crypto-currencies are digitally scarce it changes their entire outlook on all money and the light bulb goes off in their head.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: October 29, 2018, 07:29:13 PM

Paul Snow - Market Driven Pegged Tokens (Texas Bitcoin Conference)
https://youtu.be/uszUt0GStJs

Edit: He also answers questions about Factom of course...

Still trying to understand it all, but it almost seems like its just a play to try and bring more factoid burns to the network. He makes it sound like the only people who would maybe use these stable coins would be traders/speculators...

Let's look at it like this though, if it brings more users to the protocol than its a good thing for the price of factoids. Even if no one ends up using it, at-least its an added utility of the protocol.

There has been alot of development over the last year, sad to see price not reflecting at all.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETF approval is high on: October 25, 2018, 07:59:05 PM
What do you think guys? Is the news true? Will ETF be approved in this year or it will be in 2019?
Anonymous Sources Suggest Bitcoin ETF Approval Is Imminent- https://www.investinblockchain.com/bitcoin-etf-approval-imminent/

These type of post have been coming out for months and months, I think that if the SEC was really serious about it than they would have already approved something instead of just postponing over and over again.

I really dont think crypto needs an ETF yet, there is Bakkt, and numerous custody solutions to where if big institutions wanted in they could get in.

Remember we hit 800billion market cap just off retail speculation alone, we could easily get to a couple trillion with more retail speculator and just a handful of institutions in.
47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why they always attempt to create a stable kind of coin like TUSD? on: October 24, 2018, 07:55:26 PM
I'm just curious, why do exchange always attempt to create new kind of cryptocurrency that can replace USD?
In my opinion, It's much better if you can just convert it directly to USD, so trader may assure that their money in the trading site is really equal to 1usd.

What is your option on this matter?

A stable coin backed by 1 USD functions better on a blockchain, ya traders could convert it to directly to USD but what if then they want to move it to another exchange? It would have to go through a bank and then to the other exchange. This is why tether was so popular, it was a away for traders to keep away from the volatility but still have the benefit of the blockchain.

As Dimon said ultimately it will be US dollars moving around on a blockchain....not bitcoin, unfortunately he was somewhat right. Undecided
48  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What Do You Look For In A Trade Bot?? on: October 24, 2018, 04:44:02 PM
Simple question... We are currently developing a trade bot for multiple exchanges and I am wondering what are the top things that people (who use trade bots) would like to see in a trade bot. They could be things you currently enjoy with other bots or things that you would like to see your current bot have that it does not have.

If you are currently using a trade bot, please note what bot you are using for reference.

Thanks for your feedback!

Well API options are definitely a top priority I would say, gotta be able to connect and run the bot on the top exchanges out there...Binance, Bittrex, Kucoin, Coinbase ect...I would say the more api options available the more attractive your bot would be.

Then I would look into what kind of strategies are offered, I have seen ping pong which seems to be a standard strategy offered by all bots but then there are bollinger band strategies ect.

I think that if you guys could find a niche strategy that you show is proven to work if configured correctly it would set your bot apart from others.

I have used several bots in the past...Hassonline, Gunthat Gunbot and Margin but I quit using them really and just ended up signing up with coinigy. I found that botting is a pretty tough commitment and would rather trade less and hold more.

Good luck with your bot
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency giants Coinbase and Circle form joint venture on: October 24, 2018, 01:09:45 PM
More stable coins are good and I have posted before about how they will un chain the industry from Tether, which was a huge systemic risk last year. All the new stable coins will add more liquidity hopefully during a new bull run.

But with circle and coinbase I think it does kind of bring more credibility but it takes away from the anonymity aspect of crypto, I would rather use a nice DEX than coinbase to be honest. Same with poloniex, owned now by circle you know your trades are being watched.
50  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's your plan for the next bull-bear cycle? on: October 23, 2018, 09:36:40 PM

My mindset is still the same as before, "just accumulate while I can" and always take chances at every opportunity that will came to me.

No matter what's the predictions, no matter how good or bad the speculations, no matter what's the trend is (uptrend or downtrend, bull or bear), it will not changed my purpose why Im here in crypto, to used it as a currency and to used it as an investment (although I don't really used the term investment in crypto). So no such thing as literal "plan". Just moving forward and going with the current flow.

I agree with this

I will always hold a chunk of my overall total wealth in bitcoin and spend it when I can, unfortunately its difficult to do that because of tax laws and merchant acceptance.

Sure, I can go to purse.io and buy things on amazon but that is still triggering a tax event and going through a third party. I want to be able to spend my bitcoin without a company in the middle like it was designed for and not have the IRS hunting me down for buying a cup of coffee. There really needs to be some tax reform in crypto.
51  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's your plan for the next bull-bear cycle? on: October 23, 2018, 05:56:25 PM
Optimistic targets and wishful thinking for a bull run in the coming months....but I am with you man. I hope things start looking better soon.

Less volatile tech stocks are a good option, personally I am looking at putting some money into some pot stocks, the rest I would probably just put in a traditional 401k.

But honestly most of it will go to a reliable stable coin that is trustworthy, taxes will always be a nightmare, im hoping there is better guidance next bull run.
52  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Price Action Literature on: October 23, 2018, 04:36:28 PM
Hey, can someone recommend any good literature to read regarding the price action trading?

I've already read Anna Couling's Volume Price Analysis and Tom Williams' Master the Market. I don't care if it's youtube channel or book, just try to hand some helpful information Smiley thanks!

I would definitely check out Tone Vay's educational stuff!

https://tonevays.com/learntrading

Regardless if you agree with his viewpoints or not, he is an experienced trader and has shown to provide FREE and good analysis of bitcoin. Also his TA is unbiased because he only does TA on stuff he doesn't trade and never talks about stuff he does trade.

He is probably the one bitcoin maximalist i would follow and support because he has good morals.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU miners are butt hurt on: October 22, 2018, 04:47:32 PM
So you troll everyone and then put your foot in your mouth?  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Satoshis paper was written so long ago you can't go off of to apply to current networks, it wasn't written as like a georgia guidestones type thing to govern the entire future of crypto.....like there wasnt a resolution to the block size debate written in the paper so how can you say that CPU mining is how things should be?

This guy is just trolling, I have seen him around talking the same noise just trying to troll people, sorry but I wouldn't give any credence to anything he says.

hip hop and go away  Cheesy  Cheesy

54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BAT, the next new coin on Coinbase? on: October 22, 2018, 04:39:58 PM
The price action to me is really looking like the typical "buy the rumor" sell the news type of action.

Keeps breaking resistance to new highs and then pulling back to that prior resistance becoming new support.

We will have to see when they actually list it but I imagine we could see price spike on the actual listing than pulling back to higher highs than its been trading around the last 6 months.

I think the levels of 2k-3k sats are long gone and may never be seen again though, this coin is really yet to have any parabolic move.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU miners are butt hurt on: October 20, 2018, 04:50:26 PM
Read up on the Sia community and their experience with asics before you post man. You obviously don't understand how un-fair and centralized asic mining can be.

GPU mining is inherently more fair and distributed, hence why there has been so much of an effort to develop cryptos that are asic resistant. Ever heard of Vertcoin?

Regardless of ones opinion of asics vs gpus vs cpus, in my opinion its all superior to POS. It's no secret why so many top platform coins are DPOS, its a better and more secure consensus mechanism.

Lastly, your post seems to be emotionally charged as the first words are "I am sick and tired", yet you say other people are crying? Sounds a bit hypocritical to me.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BAT, the next new coin on Coinbase? on: October 19, 2018, 07:01:25 PM
if that is true, then this is the right time to buy BAT and other altcoins that are potentially listed in the coinbase. because I'm sure there will be an upward movement or pump that will happen and this remembers me when the ETC which was some time ago was included in the coinbase.
Believe me, if the pump is profitable for someone, especially the big whale that is trying to lead the cryptocurrency market today, this will surely happen and the coin you are talking about will go up.

Well hang on now....

I wouldn't go around posting that BAT is about to pump to new all time highs, if you remember correctly ETC had a nice pump and has not done well since!

Source: Coindesk https://www.coindesk.com/ethereum-classic-is-down-30-since-its-listing-on-coinbase/

You can see from the chart above it did have a nice spike but has since sold off, I would be careful because it's easy to end up holding the bag on these types of plays.

Remember we are still in a long and grueling bear market, there is just simply no interest in the crypto markets right now.

If I had to guess I would speculate that BAT could hit resistance at 6k-6200 sats, which have been big resistance levels. Thats just a guess, I don't really see BAT or any coin/token added to coinbase hitting all time highs until we see alot more volume enter the space and enter a new bull run.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BAT, the next new coin on Coinbase? on: October 19, 2018, 03:38:46 PM
I remember 0x has a very strong relationship with coinbase team but you must try to double check it dude. With only that news and are you sure if you prediction has a very high accuracy?
someone else was taking the coinbase as advisor to the platform to be the main point.

There is a strong relationship between Brendan Eich and Brian Armstrong, Brian even tweeted in the past way before they even had support for ERC-20 tokens that BAT would be a perfectly suited utility token for coinbase. Just google it as i cant link twitter links at work, but im sure the tweet is still out there.

Look at the price of BAT in the last couple weeks guys, its so obvious that every speculator in crypto is buying it up on the anticipation it will be listed next.

I was right about ETC getting listed, I posted about it before it happened in ETC and Callisto threads, I'm pretty confident in my prediction BAT will be the next coin listed.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2018 is the year of altcoins on: October 18, 2018, 08:09:29 PM
Its part of the cycle man, alts will come back because....well...human psychology, its that simple, people will speculate on alts to make money. There will be another altcoin bull run similar to the spring of 2017.

Even if bitcoin goes bullish its going to take the top tier crypto's with it, but I wouldn't expect the top 50 to shoot off too.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BAT, the next new coin on Coinbase? on: October 18, 2018, 06:37:09 PM
not before ADA : )

ADA will be added but it will take alot of time and engineering since ADA is on it's own chain, I would estimate that between the 5 coins coinbase said it would list (ZRX, BAT, XLM ZEC and ADA)
that ADA would be last among them.

It will probably go like this
1.ZRX
2.BAT
3.Zcash
4/5. XLM or ADA

What you think, will BAT be the bext coin Coinbase will list on their exchange?
Nope, there will be much more other interesting ones, like EOS or IOTA, listed before. I don' know if it requires some money to list on but I'm sure they won't list little shitcoins.

What are you talking about dude? Have you even kept up on the coinbase news?

They dropped this in July basically saying which coins they would list:
https://blog.coinbase.com/coinbase-is-exploring-cardano-basic-attention-token-stellar-zcash-and-0x-9e44f0eb823f

Notice that EOS and IOTA both are not mentioned on there  Roll Eyes

The next coin will 99.9% for sure be BAT

Why?

Because BAT is an ERC-20 token, same as ZRX, it will be incredibly easy for engineers to add it.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Huobi Lists Four ‘Regulated’ Stablecoins Vying for Tether’s Crown on: October 17, 2018, 05:10:12 PM

I cant help but think this is good for the crypto currency ecosystem and could lead to the implosion of tether.

It was a necessary stepping stone but received so much scrutiny over the years that it will never be trusted (Tether), too many people will put their money into a more trusted/secure stable coin.

I see eventually more stable coins getting listed on lower tier exchanges like Cryptopia/livecoin ect ect and then on other top exchanges like Bittrex and Poloniex, so that they are not tied to the risk of tether being their only USD pegged stable coin...this will FINALLY take the crypto currency ecosystem away from the systemic risk of a tether implosion that was probably inevitable in the first place.
