41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the deal? on: April 11, 2013, 06:22:32 PM
I believe in bitcoins so much that yesterday I sold them all at $235, bought again at $120, sold AGAIN at $165, then bought again at $120. Twice as many bitcoins! WOOOOOOOOO!

Seriously, it doesnt matter if you love and believe in either bitcoins or fiat cash. Right now is a great time to get a lot more of either. Happy hunting.

Nice trades!

This thread seems to cover most of the basics nicely and clearly explained in one page thread, could it be 'pinned' ?

45  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Foods for Bitcoins on: January 19, 2013, 11:45:50 PM
I set up    foodbyfone.com

to list all outlets that accept bitcoin ( of course most easily done on a 'phone' or 'fone not on a PC )  for food.

1. If anyone thinks this is a good idea please help by adding an outlet you know that does already accept bitcoin for food.

2. If anyone thinks this is a bad idea please also give me your comments, thanks!
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many Bitcoins do you have invested? on: January 12, 2013, 04:51:13 PM
I'm making slow (but steady) progress towards my goal of accumulating 20999999 BTC.

The leftover coin will be used to transact all world commerce.

LOL
47  Economy / Securities / Re: GLBSE Payment Claims (Announce your payment here) on: January 09, 2013, 02:33:59 PM

Last update on the blog says

"Most BTC has been paid out (small amounts still need to be done), and asset holder list updates will be sent out to issuers tomorrow."

That was Dec 13 titled "Payments made, asset list..."

So I hope he is still planning to make 'small' payment amounts

which people are still owed.

48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Odd importprivkey behavior? on: January 05, 2013, 05:20:10 PM
There's definitely something quirky.  I tried previously in the GUI and had to restart it sometimes to get the newly imported addresses to appear.
49  Economy / Gambling / Re: Satoshi Dice.... on: January 03, 2013, 07:42:46 PM
I'm truly flabbergasted by how much money this is making.

And it happened right under my nose as I watched on.

Which just goes to show: I have no friggin clue about how to make money on the internet.

I won 16 BTC on satoshidice and promptly used it to buy S.DICE stock.  Already made over 1 BTC on dividends.

Nice move!

If only I could trade it, wait or even access my GLBSE deposits :/

0.91 BTC

Congratulations wrend you have the winning bid!

I'll send a PM.

Hi 247Saver

Sorry, that I hadn't contacted you sooner.

Are you happy to use an Escrow service for exchange of the domain and funds? or are you happy to transfer first.  I do give you benefit of doubt, although I don't wan't to lose money either.

Regards,

Wrend.

Hi Wrend,

No problems.  Happy holidays!

Escrow is fine, but who is there for escrow we both know/trust?

I know there's a lot of scams but it's not a lot of money to be honest.  I said I would transfer after payment, but to be fair that was after you bid I should have been more clear at the start.

Or do you want to send 0.1 first and *let me know your account name on Namecheap.com *

Let me know what works best, I don't mind transfer first even if you post in forum to say that.

Best,

.1 BTC sent.
Please confirm.

0.1 BTC received - many thanks.

Domain is already pushed to your namecheap account successfully.

Please transfer balance 0.81 BTC

Thank you for your business.

The last thing nefario stated was that he now will work on payouts again: http://blog.glbse.com/next-steps
And in the last days there were occasional people that got payments from him. So it looks better now than some days before for your bitcoins.

And another week goes by ...

Have you (or has anyone) had any money returned this week?
53  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Coin.cm domain in auctions - last few days! on: December 20, 2012, 08:20:07 PM

Last few days to bid, don't miss out, bid now!

You can place your private highest bid by message to me if you prefer.
54  Economy / Auctions / Re: Unique hand drawn illustration of ANYTHING (spouse, children, pet or for website on: December 20, 2012, 01:31:26 AM

Might be interested in bidding if I can think of something good to do.

Are you going to set an ending time for the auction?
55  Economy / Auctions / Re: Coin.cm domains for sale on: December 19, 2012, 06:58:54 PM

You may post your maximum bid publicly in this thread or send it privately to me.
56  Economy / Auctions / AUCTION ENDING TIME on: December 15, 2012, 04:19:14 PM

To make it fair for everyone, let's pick an ending time, say this exact time next week. (Date & Time of this message)

Bids after ending time will not count.

Good luck everyone!
57  Economy / Auctions / Re: Coin.cm domains for sale on: December 14, 2012, 08:57:51 PM
In the interests of complete disclosure, in case not everyone is familiar with .cm domains:

This domain expires 5 Jan and will need to be renewed each year to keep using it (or holding it)

The current renewal cost (to the registrar, not me) is US$98 as it is a .cm domain

(Whereas .com domains are normally $10-15/year)

Hopefully this is not a major surprise to anyone who's already placed a bid, if you wish to retract a bid because of this, that's fine, please post a reply to this message.
58  Economy / Auctions / Re: Coin.cm domains for sale on: December 14, 2012, 07:53:15 PM
Thanks man Smiley Verified it. I'm going to try and dig up some spare coins. Will the transfer support most registries? Or will it be an account transfer? Or will you be managing it?

It's on Namecheap, so after payment I'll push it to the winner's account on Namecheap which is instant. (free to setup if you don't have an account)

At that point, you'll own & control it - from there, you can transfer to your favorite registrar at your leisure if you wish.

figure out this DNS TXT record issue

I've added caffeinewriter.coin.cm as a mail exchanger.   Smiley

You can verify at http://www.whatsmyip.us/mx or other similar sites, or

>  nslookup -querytype=MX coin.cm

I still have no idea why the TXT record isn't showing up. :|
60  Economy / Auctions / Re: Coin.cm domains for sale on: December 14, 2012, 06:28:57 PM
When is this closing, and can you prove ownership via a file on the site or a TXT record on DNS?
I've added a TXT proof of ownership record to the DNS, should update fairly quickly.   I think you can check this with nslookup but I forget the command syntax.

I can't see the TXT record from outside of Namecheap a/c

While www.coin.cm (with the www. prefix) goes to the old site listing it.

I've just URL forwarded coin.cm to this forum - hopefully that helps while I try to figure out this DNS TXT record issue
