There should be set in stone guidelines for any IPO or ICO

You have to protect against

1. outright scams from the start with no tech behind them, no escrow, zero post devs, sock puppets.

2. Insta ICO's with tech behind them but launched to them and a few people (sock puppets and pals) quickly so the distribution is tiny. Then pumped and pumped by people building almost frenzied mentality. Then released on exchanges and unloaded at 50 x ico price.


Designing set in stone ICO protocols which have to be followed is the best way.

This thread seems almost subjective and focused only on further pumping the price. I should probably just start my own more objective thread so we can discuss it in a more friendly manner.

I really wonder how demand so much outstrips supply on this board? It as if nobody heard about the ICO and only 1/25th of the board or far less heard about it? Perhaps 1 in 100 members only heard about the ICO? I wonder if we did a poll how many heard about the ICO?

ICO's can be some gamed if not enough people hear about them. They are almost akin to instamining in away i feel. Like people get to instamine a lot of coins for next to zero electricity. Like ICO if not known about and then closed. You get to insta ICO a lot of coins for next to zero BTC.

What can be the possible explanation of taking so long whilst having a hacker that can post or scam anyone using my legendary account. How is that account not frozen at the very least? I see him posting today!

Knowing this is proven to be a hacker using the legendary account of mine... do you or other mods and staff not have the powers to freeze that account? once he uses it to scam people that account will become totally useless and have tons of bad rep.

With mods having this knowledge and continuing to let him post this is their responsibility to the forum members to have it frozen.

I would as a new board member trust a legendary account holder and that would put me at serious risk from this hacker. The mods and staff knowing this but doing nothing very irresponsible. If a scam was to take place under than account everyone who knows that was being operated by a hacker would be complicit in the scam. I have done my best to make people aware of this by posting in the main section where people read.

Mods have deleted the post from there - this is almost deliberately assisting the hacker and prevent me warning others the account is now being run by someone who may do anything at any time.

I would have considered at perhaps 3-4x ICO but now it seems people are just pumping and pumping this. I hope not too many people are going to get burned.

This person is continuing to post with my account even today. Although as yet nothing malicious that's not to say he won't be running a scam anytime soon.

Yes this is one possible way to look at it. I wonder if a poll was raised on the main alt discussion forum if the board over time would rather see more opportunity and time given to all bct members to get behind such a project. I mean why see it as a bad thing. More people on board the more people pushing it forward and less thinking it was a quick fast ICO that only a small % of the board got to know about.

You see dash made the same error of thinking - although their launch and coin grab was an out right scam. IOTA ipo was not a scam it was an opportunity for those few that knew about it to purchase all the coins cheaply and then  charge 25x IPO price when nothing concrete has really changed.

I mean it seems very unfair that the rest of the board that didn't hear about it should now be paying 25x more when there is nothing more to actually see right now?

Why not a second IPO for a 2nd wave of investors? more development funds? see it as an extension of the first IPO and not a second one.

I think it could be a great idea. For everyone because yes 25x ipo seems great now. However if a lot more people came on board their investment and time can push it far higher.

QRK was once a great coin with a great community. 

Sadly the quark foundation fell apart and so did the community.

However some very wealthy people bought quark and lots of it. They will never sell before 20,000 sats. The liquid QRK is much less than you think. This coin will always be ready for huge pumps because there are no liquid coins.

I think such an ambitious and revolutionary product should have had a far larger ICO in terms of length and awareness.

It seems very alive on the main board now.  I notice nothing else other than IOTA threads.

The initial distribution of a token/coin I believe is core to it's acceptance later on.

Really how so? what makes you think it's their fault. This forums software has been cracked a few times THAT THEY KNOW OF.. who knows what excerpts of information they can get?

Also with no email verification required to shit account ownership the security is very weak.

Getting hacked is not essential their fault.

If it is a low priority then that shows that there is no care for people getting scammed.

They need more mods helping with this. If theymos is caught up doing everything else to the extent legit hero/legend members who have been hacked have to wait months to get their account back whilst that said account could be being used to defraud other innocent forum members then you need a few more mods with powers to

1. freeze accounts
2. transition those accounts back to the original user.

really the original email used to register the account should be held in a field on the db even if the user later decides to change it to another email address.

also email verification should be required to change anything about the account. Currently it seems hackers once they have hacked the user and pass here which may not be hard since they already have your username and two this kind of forum is not really that secure as has been shown on numerous occasions... they have full control of your account. They do not need to access to your email to have full control and use it to defraud and scam others on this board.

Thanks for the encouragement   it will hopefully be sorted out one day. I notice so many accounts hacked recently.
I can only imagine that when the board was hacked and they though some data may have been lost .....they really did lose a lot of peoples user and pass. Perhaps now only have the crackers be able to decipher the data they grabbed.
