Arsenal to win the league title!! 22 years of waiting is finally over
In fact the tough consistency they have shown on the field in the face of pressure has been much stronger than in previous years. Winning this trophy after many years of drought is a royal victory.

Arsenal might have been the most successful team if we consider being in top 5 to be successful for a decade now. There were teams coming and taking the trophy and dropping down while Arsenal were consistent yet never the first against every winners.
The sad part was it was(is) a great and balanced team and I was afraid that such team would fail to get an EPL trophy. When you don't have the trophy, your history is lost. Congratulations to the team.
3  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump has left the US! on: May 15, 2026, 01:22:24 PM
Some still think that China will kneel before the US and its president, but these days he is not the main star in the country - look at one of the party's main newspapers and conclude for yourself how much respect they have for the US president.

China considers US to be a falling power while it is the rising power that's going to replace it.
Xi talked about Thucydides Trap in Trumps face.
"the Thucydides Trap refers to the idea that when a rising power threatens to displace an established one, the result is often war."

And they have got a point. The economic steam of US is fading and Trump instead of rejuvenating the economy, destroyed any diplomatic influence US held accelerating its collapse. On the other hand China is stable, plans ahead for decades and would be the dominating economic, military and diplomatic power in the world. It's best for everyone to start cozying with China be it US or anyone.

Did Trump got a big fat hug from Xi?
5  Economy / Economics / Re: High cost of living be honest be realistic you cant rent or afford home on: May 12, 2026, 05:13:14 AM
Or better yet, go to the countryside and find another job. Because the rent is quite cheaper as well as the cost of living expenses. But of course, you might sacrifice your job or career. But you need to make a choice on how you want to live your life. Because if you are really in the city, expect that you will incur good amount of money. It is as if you are always in a hurry. So find another alternative lifestyle that you think you can survive.
The real paradox is that there is practically no work left in the villages. In any case, you would have to commute to the city to earn a living—and that entails additional expenses. Consequently, this option is far from suitable for everyone. It would certainly be beyond my budget; a huge chunk of my funds would go toward transportation costs.

I need to find something suitable that isn't quite so expensive. Nowadays, landlords raise their prices every single year, whereas wages certainly aren't indexed annually.

Cities and suburbs are already packed and getting land, house, apartments or rent on such places is too difficult while villages are being more difficult to live in. For my home nation, the population has started to decline and the rural homes and agricultural fields are being reclaimed by forest and wild animals while the suburbs are increasing in size. These bring other problems like traffic congestion and pollution to the city.
The best way forward is for the government to create new cities as employment center like they could start with the government buildings being put in a new city while digitalizing most services and promoting work from home. They could also ban specific business to be operated or started on large cities and force them outside. Creating a few new cities and increase public transport facilities on large cities would solve many problems specially when the population is already in decline.
6  Economy / Economics / Re: China taking over the world without military actions. on: May 11, 2026, 05:52:54 AM
Many analysts believe that China will be the number one beneficiary of the Iran war. After the Iran war, the US's decline will be accelerated. China has been working silently for a long time to become the world's most powerful nation. Now it has surpassed the USA in critical technology such as AI, infrastructure and industrial production. Over the past few decades, the United States has unnecessarily involved itself in quite a few wars. On the other hand, China didn't get itself involved in any conflict. It silently worked and increased its influence with soft power.
Not only with the war in the middle east, but in almost in all major conflicts. Take the example of the war in Ukraine and the sanctions imposed opn the Russian economy not to sell oil or using the SWIFT system. China was the first to buy the russian oil for cheaper price than any country has bought it before, in addition to provide the russian market with all supplies and goods that was imported from Europe and other countries and allies of the USA. In Africa, China is considered the good friend for all the countries suffering from west colonialism and chronis economic pressions.

In my last replies in this thread, I have discussed with other members the manifestations of Chinese technological power and its pillars. It a giant that becomes even bigger everyday. I think we reach the point that no one can stop the Chinese power nowadays.

It is true that China is the biggest beneficiary of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. However, the conflict in the Middle East is entirely different, and it is too early to assume that China is also benefiting from it

They are a country heavily reliant on oil import, and the majority of that oil come from this region. But if the Hormuz is closed for an extended period, or worse, if Iran loses this war. They will lose yet another source of cheap oil, after already losing Venezuela. That will have a significant impact on their long term development.
That is why I believe China will support Iran in this conflict at all costs

The United States is trying to contain China's expansion, but I also think it is already too late to do so.

Things are more complex than this. Even though China voices in favor of Iran, it too don't want Iran to have nuclear capabilities as it would add another nuclear nation in the region. China do benefit from the cheap oil from Iran but China is doing all it can to reduce the dependence on oil as a whole and diversifying as much it can. If there's a deal between US and Iran, China would probably lobby for independent economy of Iran which too is likely as US don't have a clear advantage yet.
So at the end, China would be the greatest winner in making Iran devoid of nuclear capabilities while openly doing trade with Iran.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: May 11, 2026, 05:48:07 AM
Hopefully the FIFA will stop.messing around by the next world cup
Ehm, are you talking about the World Cup that is going to be hosted across six countries and three continents?  Grin The same tournament that will start in South America (Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay) and then move between Europe (Spain and Portugal) and Africa (Morocco)?
And you know what's the craziest thing? That all this mess is just to rotate the continents so they could give the 2034 edition to Saudi Arabia (Asia) otherwise in couldn't have been possible because Asia already had Qatar 2022. This is literally pure corruption in broad daylight.

This stupidity from FIFA should stop. It's okay for upto 3 small neighboring countries hosting the world cup like in europe as the teams would be moving from one ground to other anyway but hosting games on multiple countries and continents not only would make the organization and managements of games more hectic, the players won't get proper rest and neither would they get accustomed to the grounds.

.............
The match ended, and Arsenal won it, while the match result can not be changed, let's move on and predict last two matches of Arsenal in Premier League. They will play last matches with two opponents that don't have any motivation for playing seriously, so very likely Arsenal won't face with too much challenge. However, it does not mean they will win these matches easily or their opponents will give them 3 points without efforts of playing hard.

Arsenal are good now but they have to secure 6 points in last matches for winning Premier League title because Manchester City won't give up till the last match, last minutes, and the referee whistle to end their last match. While in football, even substitution players can make difference and with not too good ability of scoring goals, Arsenal will possibly win minimally in last matches but it contains risk of losing 2 points from a minimal win to a draw. Manchester City are chasing Arsenal and they only wait for such 2 point drop from Arsenal to flip the title competition entirely and get advantage back through goal difference.
We can consider that Arsenal currently has three “finals” ahead of them,,, one in the Champions League and two in the Premier League that are just as crucial. after all, these three matches are equally important, and they must win all three to claim the title. 1 match in the UCL to win the UCL and 2 matches in the Premier League to win the Premier League. however, if Arsenal were to succeed in both of these competitions, I think many would feel that they didn’t expect this to happen. But if Arsenal were to fail in both, everyone would accept it as usual. Because we’ve truly become numb to expecting much from Arsenal.   Cheesy

Arsenal had been a team with bad luck for years now but this year they now have the highest chances to win both Premier League and Champions League. As there are no teams winning consecutive premier league and consecutive Champions league for some time now, it would be their most crucial matches.
IMO, they have greater chances of winning premier league but PSG could be a tough competitor for Champions League.
10  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Big Trouble in Little China on: February 01, 2026, 07:53:03 AM
This is looking like president Xi is not the kind of person they need to joke with because China is a tough country that don't joke with there words. The Communist party is China is doing everything to make sure that their is no one that will repel against the government or trying to outshine the law.
I don't really know why all these is happening and what must have been the reason but I think is not yet time for a revolution yet because Xi has really changes the dominance of Chinese infrastructural commitment to make china the industrial hub where no nation can compete with them.

It is a treason punishable by death when the people you trust share your secret with the opposite party, aka your enemy. Betrayal comes with huge punishment and consequences. However, XI chooses to purge them.

If this is so true, for what benefit did they decide to share secret to the US government and betray their country? With a common goal, America will later betray them, I dont think allying with the American government, even if they want a revlotuon was the best idea.

I guess its more related to the corruption investigation they were doing in PLA. They might have underestimated the extent of corruption and it was being carried from the top level. Xi has eliminated many party leaders accusing them of corruption including his own faction and he's now doing the same in PLA.
Xi losing his power might not be the case as Politburo Standing Committee holds the ultimate power in China and if they were not in line with Xi's idea, they would have already removed him.
11  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Hidden Authoritarianism in Western Countries on: January 19, 2026, 04:30:20 AM
Anacyclosis is a theory put forward by Greek Philosopher Polybius years before the birth of Christianity.
The theory claims each society moves through a cycle of phases, between Kingship, Tyranny, Aristocracy, Oligarchy, Democracy and Mob rule.
Some are a bit more stable, some skips some phases or have variations but the fact that society changes and not always to good path is still true for all societies.

Yes, Sweden is the new America in the matter of gun violence. Sweden now has the highest gun violence records in all of Europe.
Let alone fighting Russian, they can't even stop crimes in their nation. It's a decaying country.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you also count the potential win as a loss when you gamble? on: January 16, 2026, 04:49:45 PM
Lately I noticed something about how I think when I place bets.
Aside from the actual stake, I also mentally count the possible winning as something I’m losing if the bet fails.

For example, I bet $100 at odds 1.90.
The return should be $190, but when it loses, I don’t just feel like I lost $100. It feels like I lost the whole $190 that could have been mine.

Because of that mindset, I’ve become more serious with my bets, like I take more time to study and analyze before placing anything, since in my head the loss feels bigger than the actual amount at risk.

Is anyone else like this?
Do you only focus on the stake, or do you also factor in the potential win when deciding whether a bet is worth it?

I think most of us unknowingly do it. People forget where they started from and only remember what was their highest point and when your balance decreases from that, they would consider it a loss and for them to go to profit, they should go over the highest point.
It's more significant if it goes for multiple days like even if you have started with depositing $100, your balance might have been $150 when you started betting today and if  you are lucky and get it to $300 and didn't withdrew, the base bankroll for you would be $300 next day. Some over optimist people may even argue you were born with zero dollars and everything you earned is a win.
In short, we can't define it on a single way and its upto every gamblers to determine what their loss is.
14  Economy / Economics / Re: Marriage Future Financial Arrangement. on: January 16, 2026, 03:47:22 PM
Before getting  married you need to talk about  your future financial arrangements with your intended spouse now.You can do this by considering some of these questions, Like how will our income be budgeted? Will we have a joint bank account or separate accounts? Which spouse will be more adept at keeping  financial records  and seeing that bills are paid? How much money can one of us spend on a purchase without consulting the other?
So what's your suggestions or what's your take on this!

I don't think that's a big deal when you two both are independent and do share each others large financial decisions and trust each other.
I'm married for three and a half years now, we both earn, I do tell her how much I'm saving but I don't need to explain about where every of my money is going. When the amount is large like buying stocks or large amount of crypto, I do tell her but not for small amounts. She's a more conservative saver so all her savings goes into banks but I like to play with my money. Last month I even managed helping my friend with some money without her knowing. I don't ask about all her money either but they are visible on her savings account.

In today's match between Pakistan Under-19 and England Under-19, it seemed that Pakistan might have restricted England to 210 runs, but Pakistan Under-19 is performing worse than England. The conditions prevailing in the match now have a 90% chance of England Under-19 winning, especially as Pakistan have scored 173 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Oh sorry, as I was writing this post, England defeated Pakistan U-19 by 37 runs. That is, Pakistan U-19 was all out for 173 runs. Pakistan lost today's match only because of bad batting.

Of the three under 19s match today, England had an easy win against Pakistan. Pakistan bowled well like they always do and limited England to 210 but their batting failed them again and they were all out for even lower. Pakistan had a bad start on batting and even though the middle order tried to get back to the game, their run rate was low and the down order couldn't bat.
Australia comfortably won against Ireland. The target from Ireland was decent but the century from Steven Hogan made everything easier for Australia.
On another game, Afghanistan came victorious against South Africa, Afghanistan gave a decent target and South Africa failed to chase it. The three early run outs were some stupid performance from South Africa that gave the game away, if they had just kept it slow, they could have won it with wickets in hand.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bragging About Losses, Is Addiction Slowly Settling? on: January 16, 2026, 01:34:36 PM
A quick question to the gambling community.

In a sitting among friends that gamble too, certain discussions begins to kick in when everyone shares their gambling experience how it has affected them with benefits and how it has caused them financial problems.

Do you think at such a stage when you all begin to brag about who has gotten the biggest losses, is a sign of addiction settling in or a bunch of irresponsible gamblers sitting.

I would not generalize people just for the conversations. People when talking in groups, are likely to talk about their bad moments in their life as a way to lighten up from the stress. I personally had such experience where I was dying while hiding the fact that I lost a large amount in gambling. I was going into depression till I shared it with somebody and sharing the sadness did lightened up my mood. Repeating it might also make people aware of what extreme they have been to and try to be more responsible gambler. But that can't be said true for everyone as its upto personal willpower than anything else when it comes to either being addicted or not.
17  Economy / Economics / Re: Sales is the only profession no one dreams of, yet salespeople rule the world. on: January 16, 2026, 12:19:26 PM
Bill Cates once said something very valuable: it doesn’t really matter which product or service you start your business with. What truly matters is the people you have around you. Sales is the only profession where you can ask 10 people—or even 10,000 people—“Brother, did you ever think of becoming a salesman?  and you won’t find a single person who says, Yes, I dreamed of becoming a salesman when I was a child. Yet, those very salespeople end up ruling the world and making the highest sales. Isn’t that one of the greatest wonders of this world? There is a clear difference between a customer and a client. Someone who buys once is a customer, someone who buys more than once becomes a client. Do you know the harsh truth of the world? Very often, people cannot turn the thing they are best at into their profession. That’s all for today.

Salesperson was a thing of past in the current generation of b2c online shopping. Salesperson are unwanted middlemen who takes commission in several steps making the prices higher for the consumers while ripping off the producers margin.
There still are a few middlemen that takes a cut like amazon but their commission are limited and mostly predictable. The only salesmen job I can think of at the time are those scammers who bribes doctors to prescribe expensive medicine for profit which has turned the health sector to a scam, except for that almost all of the sectors are getting rid of salesperson, even the farmers are now directly selling their produce through tik tok.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My blood pressure is 180/190 is it good to play gamble in this situation? on: January 16, 2026, 08:46:58 AM
Due to thinking of gambling do you think a high BP patient is allowed to place a high stake in gambling,in this kind of situation what is your advice to someone who has a high blood pressure,is it really advisable to keep playing game under this situation.

A friend of my reach at to me who has been diagnosed of high blood pressure that he needs to use  $60 to play game so to me I have adviced him with the little that I can but he still insists of gambling with the money,to me I ask again is it advisable to gamble when someone blood pressure is higher.

Today I consulted a doctor. He claimed if your pressure is over 160, you should regularly take the medicine and when you are on medicine, you can do whatever you like. But once you start with the medicine, you should not forget it. So if you are in medication and haven't forgot your pills, you are safe to go.
There's even a study that claims people with uncontrolled high blood pressure are statistically more likely to experience a dangerous cardiovascular event (like stroke or heart attack) while straining on the toilet than from the immediate physiological effects of losing a large gambling bet. So, its not a great risk.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2025/26 on: January 15, 2026, 04:55:37 PM

Even in premier League all the teams that recently change coaches are still seeing more coaching issues, if it was Alonso, Albacete would have lost because apart from there weak they also have not won match on the league 2 four matches so even as the league is small to the La Liga league 1 they are part of the team whom the league is not sure of relegation exemption because they are  semi bottom club so actually Real Madrid wasn't in any imagination of losing to this. 5 goals would have waited for real Madrid if Alvaro Arbeloa was assigned on the Barcelona time they meet them.
Who even brought the idea that Alvaro arbeloa should be made as the new coach of real madrid when their are much better managers out there that knows the coaching job more, or do they think that a good player determines a good coach?
Because it doesn't makes any sense in sacking xabi Alonso in the first place because of players that were disrespectful to him, and to make the matters worse, they went and brought someone that doesn't know jack about coaching an elite team like real madrid.
The only good thing about this is that the spotlight will now be on those players that gang up against their manager, if the team will do better now that he is no longer at the club, if they improves, it will be clear that the manager pattern doesn't suit this types of player, but if they are even worse, then we all are going to conclude that they are all full of shit.

Unlucky start for Alvaro Arbeloa as Real Madrid loses 3-2 against a 2nd division club. It was one of the most unexpected result this year. Real Madrid did rested many of the top players like Mbappe, Bellingham to give others a chance considering the 2nd division team to be the weak one but it backfired and they got eliminated.
The team was not entirely a new either, Vinicius Junior, Valverde and Guler were on the team but the counter goals from Albacete made Real Madrid lose even though Real Madrid had the most control of the ball.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ EFL Carabao Cup 2025/26 Season on: January 15, 2026, 03:57:49 PM
It is over for Chelsea and Newcastle. Newcastle need 0:3 victory against Manchester City at Etihad to qualify to the final. This is impossible because at Etihad, Manchester City must surely score. While as for Chelsea, we always know the result against Arsenal for the past 5 years at the Emirates. Chelsea may score, but  they cannot win Arsenal at the Emirate. Arsenal has never lost a single game at the Emirate, Aston Villa can attest to that. I believe Arsenal will win Chelsea also in the second leg to progress to the final. It will a final between Arsenal and Manchester City.

This is not how to evaluate things in football where you know the unexpected happens always it's going to be difficult for Newcastle to advance to the finals because they are 2 goals down and will will be playing from away against Manchester City but anything is still possible and if Manchester City is not careful in the game you may see Newcastle coming from the away to beat them 0:2 and the game will move to extra time. Same goes to Chelsea and Arsenal, Chelsea managed to get back in the game by ending it in a 2:3 win for Arsenal a score that can be over then by them if they have the opportunity to get better before the game so let's not rule them out because Arsenal may be not perform well in the next game and Chelsea will beat them it's very possible.

Of course nothing's impossible on football but a team who seems to be weaker and has a disadvantage on the first leg has an negligible chance to turn the game. This is how football is normally evaluated. No way is Newcastle winning by over 3 goals in Etihad against Manchester City. The Arsenal vs Chelsea is a bit closer and Chelsea had been doing some wonders in league too but I still find it very difficult for Chelsea to turn the scores around specially in Emirates stadium.
The EFL cup finals would most probably be played between Manchester City and Arsenal.
