61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ARG Puzzle with 3.5 BTC Private Key Prize on: July 02, 2014, 03:46:31 PM
Speaking of dates, I find it suspicious that the last bit.ly link was created July 2: https://bitly.com/1rWkJl7+.
All the other hints were created before the puzzle started.
Edit: but OP has confirmed it's the correct file.

This will (probably) lead to the password needed to open 2.7z

Anybody else seeing the modtime of the files as July 2, 1980? Mac Finders is displaying it like that to me.

When somebody has to keep saying "OP made no mistakes", I take that to mean OP just made poor decisions. This now feels more like a tour through somebody's warped mind.

About first image. What if blue dot represents pattern inverse? For example, before it we grab all one color dots, and after it we must grab another color dots? What if stop word is not stop word? And are you see that if you mix up some colors?
See the OP's hints here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=661781.msg7458387#msg7458387
The original image is probably not relevant at this point- it was the starting point and we've moved away from it. The current clue is the image clearly named Hint.jpg.

You'll either need a supercomputer or a time machine for this to work: http://rarcrack.sourceforge.net/

If there's a weakness to my theory, I think it's that 45 bits doesn't give much brute force resistance.
Trying to bruteforce 7zip would take a LOT longer than bruteforcing a bitcoin key.

If it's clean, put the source up on github so users can verify. I'm pretty happy with https://github.com/nearengine/btcbar

That long dark line above the Bit Sha is something written in cursive. I can only make out a couple of letters now...

googling 7:51 just gives me a bunch of bible and quran passages.

EDIT: I also wonder how comes we had so many new accounts all with clues.......
Could probably be wrong, but wtf?
I noticed a lot of new users just repeating stuff others had already said, but I assumed they were just trying to weasel into any shared bounty, if the winner was being generous.
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ARG Puzzle with 3.5 BTC Private Key Prize *new hint on: June 30, 2014, 06:56:43 PM
I wonder if it was the OP that paid the bounty or the creator of MC.......
I hereby coin the term "brainshaft", meaning to cause others to needlessly waste brainpower Smiley
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ARG Puzzle with 3.5 BTC Private Key Prize *new hint on: June 30, 2014, 06:34:17 PM
Great!
So now I and others have to depend on those who actually play MC?

If the end is nigh, that probably means the first one through will get the answer. This feels like a giant promotion for minecraft.

And the red blocks, form what looks like part of a QR code?

Minimal QR code is 21x21 says Wikipedia, this is 12x12.

Data Matrix can be 12x12

If it was something we could at least purchase with bitcoin, it wouldn't be so bad.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ARG Puzzle with 3.5 BTC Private Key Prize on: June 30, 2014, 04:21:54 PM
as soon as i found and converted the binary code my gut feeling was that it would be a minecraft server but i didn't know how to check it. It seems like you have to pay to play minecraft? So is anyone who can't play now stuck with this ?
yeah, requiring somebody to purchase a piece of software is not cool

Obviously she is referring to "contra code." Have you ever played a classic video game and used a cheat? Start with the obvious, expand from there.

For example following contra code: there is a bit . ly address, which uses the blue "dot" as an internet "dot." Just sayin: Obvious code is obvious.
if you're suggesting https://bitly.com/uuddlrlrba, append a '+' to the url to see the bit.ly stats and you'll see it was created in 2009.
