It's called punishment reinforcement
http://allpsych.com/psychology101/reinforcement.html

But the issue is much deeper than excessive use of force

That's where our opinions differ. I seem to have much lower tolerance for BS. The "talking and explaining phase" should be done while people are growing up. If afterwards they engage in violence, they should be prepared to face violence.
343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: question for those from the nations where USD is not in daily use. on: May 30, 2011, 03:32:02 PM
None, but I think I'll be buying it in the near future to wipe my ass. It should be cheaper than toilet paper

This is why we need assassination markets.
Imagine, you post this on a forum, we all chip in and BAMMMM! - couple of days later these cunts calling themselves policemen are dead. It's on national tv, their families are grieving - entertainment at it's best. I think maybe they should also be tortured before actually being killed. Maybe cut off their penises and force them to eat it for enhanced effect..?
Consequences - next time someone's just dancing and kissing in a public place, every "Hero" policeman will think twice before engaging in violence.

The world will be such a better place soon.

Code:
./bitcoin -addnode=69.164.218.197 -addnode=64.22.103.150 -addnode=173.242.112.53 -addnode=178.79.147.99 -addnode=184.106.111.41 -addnode=91.85.220.84 -addnode=173.224.125.222 -addnode=86.5.50.90 -addnode=178.255.199.86

Done what exactly? Tried to change directory where the binary is and run the command, moved binary to /bin/ or added 64 directory to the PATH?

Also, can you navigate where your binary is, type:

Code:
ls -la
and post the output?
348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: No Connections and bitcoin command not found on: May 30, 2011, 06:15:42 AM
navigate to that 64 directory and run
Code:
bitcoin -addnode=69.164.218.197 -addnode=64.22.103.150 -addnode=173.242.112.53 -addnode=178.79.147.99 -addnode=184.106.111.41 -addnode=91.85.220.84 -addnode=173.224.125.222 -addnode=86.5.50.90 -addnode=178.255.199.86
from there
if you want to be able to run it from anywhere either add that directory to your PATH or move bitcoin file to /bin/

I think think this thread need some jokes. I'll start.

My girlfriend said to me another day: If god wanted women to suck dicks he would have made cum taste like chocolate
I said: But he had to make it taste like bleach so you don't forget to do the laundry
352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: (Please help) Why can't I receive the bitcoin? on: May 30, 2011, 05:25:22 AM

354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin won't connect? on: May 30, 2011, 03:34:34 AM
in this case just the name of the binary
355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin won't connect? on: May 30, 2011, 03:19:00 AM
You must have missed the "=" or added a space after -addnode=
Close the client and try again
Code:
bitcoin -addnode=69.164.218.197 -addnode=64.22.103.150 -addnode=173.242.112.53 -addnode=178.79.147.99 -addnode=184.106.111.41 -addnode=91.85.220.84 -addnode=173.224.125.222 -addnode=86.5.50.90 -addnode=178.255.199.86

I find it funny people trying to deny their instincts and nature.
It's almost as entertaining as listening to religious people trying to explain dinosaurs  Grin
