661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ** Scifi Coin Exchange ** Launching in 2 weeks on: January 13, 2014, 02:34:01 PM
People please, fuck off with the UFO crap coin. That coin was premined 1.5% and has a total money supply of 4 billion. The only person pushing it are instaminers, the dev and his sock puppet accounts.

OP, please be picky when it comes to coins on your exchange. Don't fall for these scam coins. No pre-mine, no insta-mine coins.

People have said every alt is a scam at some point - everyone here hated LTC about a year ago. Let the ecosystem and free market decide.

Thats not the point I was trying to make. Its very simple I will lay it out from a miner's perspective.

As miners we use our time and money (electricity and hardware) to mine coins and maintain the blockchains of these said coins. Why would I spend my time mining a coin that can be crashed by the developer? Lets say we mine UFO for 3 months and bring its value up to 4500 satoshi's. Thats great! now I have mined 1,300,000 coins and they are actually worth something! The Dev starts to dump his massive pre-mine on the exchanges. 1.5% of 4 billion is 600million. After a week our 3 months of effort is worthless. Now you can sit on your worthless UFOs that you spent 3 months mining. Maybe they go up maybe not. Likely the coin dies. This happens over and over again. Its the same developers copying coins and doing this. Until the exchanges stop accepting these massively premined coins they will keep being created. These so called devs are stealing miners time and resources. Open your eyes.

But none of them have been called UFO Smiley

Mining crypto is high risk - always has been and always will be.

Also the dev has been distributing the coins he set aside for bounties.

UFO coin is in!  By the way, I am planning a massive giveaway at launch, and pre-load wallets of the first 100 users with some balances.

UFO community, want to join and sponsor it?

@200890234, it's probably best to address UFC issues at Start Trek thread, and leave this for the exchange issues.

@.Batman. please PM me with what resources that you have, eg. website, source, block explorer, etc. If your network is stable, I'd consider it.

Very cool! I haven't been into crypto that long and all the UFO I have has pretty much been made with my personal desktop, but I'll donate what I can. Put us a wallet address or something up. I'll send some coin to it since every user with preloaded coins is a potential new UFO user / miner.

Great work miles!

Thanks, dude. I'm trying to get into this. I'm a professional reseller and most of my business happens online. I'm very excited about the future of cryptocurrencies, but I fear I'm too late to the game. I've seen you're interested in this UFO coin. Can you tell me what interests you about the coin? I think it would obviously do well on a scifi exchange, but what are some other good things about the coin? Personally, I like that it has had a somewhat slow start. In the last few weeks alone, I have seen so many coins launch and instantly dominated by premines and miners with deep pockets and big resources. It seems like this one just flew under the radar to me. Do you think that could be a positive sign or is it just wishful thinking?

The name of the coin's great and the dev is taking the marketing of the coin really seriously.

Myself, I believe this'll be one of those coins that comes out of its slumber and makes everyone wish they had got into it sooner Smiley

Thanks to the SciFi Coin exchange this may happen sooner than anyone could imagine (in crypto things always move faster than you expect).

Of course - if you are really new you should also look at the well known alts like DVC  (one of my faves), LTC and PPC.

But UFO is unique, has a kick ass name, good marketing behind it and will take off soon I suspect Smiley

EDIT: to be honest it's partly irrational too - the name has me and I'm committed to the coin Smiley

You can give me some NXT for another NXT press release if you like  Wink

Last one was on Yahoo Finance and over 300 other news outlets.

EDIT: bybitcoin and I had a series of misunderstandings, but I have decided I would still like to promote NXT if possible.

too late, after you wrote:

So at this stage I am not doing any further promotion for NXT.

If anyone wishes to co-ordinate another PR campaign for NXT and has the maturity to come to an actual agreement regarding this, please just let me know.

After I read that, I took the PR campaign and now it is lead in a separate thread. We need only loyal people for this

I have a large stake in NXT and would like to help.
666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 13, 2014, 12:12:13 PM
Well, if someone wants to buy 1 BTC worth NXT then post here Bitcoin address the payment will be made from and ur Nxt account.

I'll respond with Bitcoin address for payment. Price ~95% DGEX market price.

Can you lend me 1 BTC?   Grin

Don't use them, sorry. Smiley

is it minus 95% or minus 5% from the dgex price?
minus 5%, lol

Why are we not giving it to those who contribute to NXT with projects and stuff?

Is anyone going to become an NXT/fiat gateway when Asset Exchange is launched? I know about only 1 such case.

We are working on putting a very simple broker type of service were people can buy NXT with EUR.
It will be very very simple and the sole purpose of it is going to be just give "easier" way of buying NXT without going through the hassle of getting btc and then converting.
I hope we will be ready in 1-2 weeks.

Someone in Canada should open USD-NXt gateway, I suppose it would be easier three with RoboCon and everything. Here in States, the NSA scares the shit out of me. But because of NXT cause, I might try to do something. But lol I expect to get a "cease and desist" letter very soon and I have to stop anyway.

Anybody in the United States who opens a USD/NXT gateway has a lot more than the NSA to worry about.  There is a LOT of very specific paperwork to fill out to become a Money Services Institution (not the official title, but there is one.)  Cryptsy is following this path and as soon as they have the applications approved, they are effectively an officially registered US Bank and can start selling cryptos for USD.  Anybody in the US who trys that without clearing it first with the Feds gets this happening to them:

http://www.theverge.com/2013/8/23/4651926/us-government-seized-5-million-from-bitcoin-behemoth-mt-gox

This would be a great project for those not based in the US.

I think I'll add it to my (infinite) to do list.
668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 13, 2014, 11:55:34 AM
I'll take 1 BTC worth at 0.00003 - and if the BTC helps the NXT project then it's win - win Smiley

My coins are all over the place but I can do the trade later today - or if you want to wait until you have 10 people that's fine too (but then it would be nice if it could be 5% off dgex price if the exchange rate is below 0.00003).

95% of DGEX price.

Would love to help but I think I'll wait and buy on exchange over the next few days (I think NXT is going down for a while before it goes up again).
669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 13, 2014, 11:47:33 AM
How many will you sell? Would be best if you sold to multiple people if a lot, so as to distribute and not encourage hoarding.

10 BTC looks good enough for the reward.

I think we could distribute the coins among 10 persons. 1 BTC to each one.

I'll take 1 BTC worth at 0.00003 - and if the BTC helps the NXT project then it's win - win Smiley

671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ON HOLD ** [DVC GIVEAWAY] 750 DVC Per Person ** on: January 13, 2014, 10:50:52 AM
Finally got my Cryptsy DVC deposit - so it looks like DVC deposits are taking roughly 72 hours to Craptsy Sad

Everyone who followed the instructions has been sent DVC and it will be there within 3 days at the latest!

I may reopen the giveaway - after Craptsy fixes the issue.

Feel free to open a support ticket to let them know this is unacceptable!

Just noticed my post count says leet instead of a number.

Never seen that on any account before - does this mean I should take a break from the forums  Cheesy

Has anyone else seen that before?

HA!

Now you can never post again!   Wink

Or they could delete an old post every time they make a new post  Smiley

Was deleting posts for a while but it's too much work - looks like all I'll have is the fond memories and sentimental photo of being leet...
