141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is dev coin valued so little? on: May 27, 2013, 12:19:03 PM
What specific things has devcoins help produce?  Is there a list somewhere?  I'd like to know the type of work they payout before I start buying in.

Here is a lot:

http://www.devtome.com/

Is there any accountability in how much someone gets paid for work?  There is a cat meme tome (http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=cat_meme_page) and another about the concepts of environmental anthropology (http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=concepts_in_environmental_anthropology).  Do they get paid the same?  Is someone really getting devcoins for making a cat meme page?

143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: help please i am looking to start a pxc pool and need advice ( phenixcoin pool ) on: May 27, 2013, 11:21:04 AM
just worked it out with 20,000kh on pxc that would get nearly 100 blocks aday  so i would get 50 pxc curent value 1ltc sever is good for 100,000kh+ so that is 5ltc a day that more than covers it

Do not count on the forum exchange prices to hold in a month when you need to make a server payment.  There is no telling what the price will be in a month.  Currently, there is not a large enough sample to determine the true price of PXC.  Theres litterally only a few dozen people selling, and way less than that buying.  It could likely be 50 PXC is .01 LTC and then you'll need 100x's the blocks to match your server costs.

You speculation about costs should be pessimistic.  Expect the worse, hope for the best.

I'll say it again, you should reduce your server costs now.  Upgrade the server when the extra space is needed.  You're not going to have 100 MH jumping on the first day more than likely.  The Hackshardgaming pool has been up since day 2 of PXC release, the most hash rate I've seen there is 10 MH.

have been looking at dedicated severs and a good 4 core sever is around 100  gbp a month and should handle 100,000kh/s acording to what i was told so a 1% fee should cover all costs mabe able to lower it after a month or 2 just concidering the offer to set me up a pool for 50 ltc seams like alot of ltc curent price of 50 ltc 160 usd  for what im told is a few h of work
if there anything anyone would like a poo to do that a pool is not doing now ?

to cover your server costs, you'll need 100 gbp a month....so 150 bucks...or 50 ltc.  That means your pool needs to collect, monthly, 5000 LTC's in order to maintain costs at 1%.  5000 LTC is 100 blocks.  That is at least 3 blocks a day.  Your pool will need a hash rate of at least 50 MH (this is just for LTC) to meet that demand.

I know you're doing PXC, but the idea is still the same, just harder to accomplish because there are way less people mining PXC than there are LTC.  You're going to have to be pretty enticing of a server to pull people away from what already is working for them.  Located in EU may be to your advantage in this situation as the only other EU PXC server is the dev one.  However it usually has less than 50 MH.

In my opinion, your server costs are too high.  Start out with a much smaller package if you can, upgrade when you need to and can afford it.

OK,
since you refuse to respond to my personal message I will do it here in public. Do you know what customer service is? I sent you a question many hours ago and you have been really busy chit chatting it up, sell, sell, sell. SO WTF!? I want an answer, and I want it in public. As of right now I am pretty sure you are a scammer, and at the least a crappy business person.

 SCAM ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bobbix, I have the same build as you nearly.  Not having any issues while playing poker.  GPU is mining at the same speeds...no increased cpu usage.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: i am looking to start a pxc ( phenixcoin pool ) on: May 26, 2013, 08:18:35 PM
i would like to set it up in a way that
a 5% of the block goes to the finder the other 95% is dun by shares
or
b if the block is over 50 pxc the extra pxc goes to the finder
im not to botherd if i dont make mony from this i would keep the fees at 1% and offer a donation option
i would get the best sever i can find for a resnable mony
all donations to the pool will be used for givaways / promoting pxc
even at 1% i think the pool should cover its costs

Option A:  This is not a bonus, its a redistribution of how 100% gets paid out.  If anything, you would reward high hash rate while penalizing lower hash rate miners.

Option B:  Most transaction fees I've gotten from PXC have either been 0 or .1 PXC.  Not really a bonus if the block doesn't have a transaction fee.  At .1 of 50 is only a .2% bonus for finding a block.

1% fee is good.  Promotions and giveaways are too, just make sure all funds spent are accounted.  Being honest about donation funds goes a long way in how people feel about donating coins.
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: i am looking to start a pxc ( phenixcoin pool ) on: May 26, 2013, 07:57:43 PM
i will be honest and say i have have no idea were to start any help would be gratefuly acsepted
i am looking to start a pxc pool that pays out a set % of the coin to the block finder and the rest gets split up as nomal
im not looking to do this to make mony i am doing this to lern pool fees will be as small as reasnably posable
the reason i want to do a pxc pool is pxc is not big yet and i would like to have time to lern before it gets biger
thanks all for your time i hope you can help me

Giving a block finder bonus that reduces other miners payouts may deter smaller hash rates from joining your pool.

If you just give the block finder a flat bonus, and everyone else gets paid normally, how will you make that up without going broke?  What kind of fee would you need to set to make your own ends meet and payout block finders?  Higher fees are going to push people away.  PXC Dev pools are 2% but a 1% fee pool rides at or above 50% the hashrate daily.  Two reasons for this, 1. lower fees, 2. higher pool hashrate reduces pplns variance.

I did not know if imatrix wanted such information revealed. Since he clearly wants it to be, then yes. I did receive 10k. But that was after I had already began. Wasn't created to be "paid for". It was a kind-hearted donation from imatrix.

You asked him for a donation in that PM!

Of all the people to call others liars!!

This is from the guy who got 10 000PXC from the developers to run the exchange doc. Greed is indeed a bottomless pit...

There seems to be some confusion as to what took place.

We DID NOT give YaCoinYeah 10,000 to start or run the Docs exchange.

He did that all on his own. I only post the PM's because he has already made it public.

Hello!

I run the Doc exchange, but even though it's slow tonight I believe we'll have more people wanting to buy PXC.
I message you wondering if I could either purchase a few or quite a few, depending on how much or if you're selling, or if you would be willing to donate to my Doc exchange.

Either way I love the coin and the community right now. Please let me know what you have in mind!

Sry,

I just saw this..

Give me you PXC Account, I'll donate 10,000

M.

Thank you so much

If you have any for sale I'd still like to buy some  I'm trying to hoard for upcoming exchange

Seriously, deepest respect for you guys.

I have also sent coins to people to give away, covered some people losses on bad trades, sent pool owners coins to give away for promotion.

We have put out a call for Developers and we will back them if needed.

These deals are not private, but I normally do consider the terms of deals private.

On our side we have asked nothing more then, to put the coins to use to promote Phenixcoin.

We are actively working on other deals with other people as well.

We are working hard to promote Phenixcoin, but we do not bribe people to do things.

I was busy today, and away from computer, I got a call that Phenixcoin was up on an exchange. I got a hold of John and we discussed it, and decided that we would ask Vern to take it down.

It is not our intent to try and stop anyone from trading the coins, for everyone involved, this is about money. Miners have bills to pay, devs have servers to pay ect..

But a full exchange at this point, in our opinion was a very bad idea. I will be releasing something today that will make your private trades secure.

This will be a 100% Free service, NO FEES.

So you scumbags out there that seek to rip people off on private trades will have to find some other way to get your coins.

YaCoinYeah can tell you I was NOT happy when I saw this happening.

Its has set my time table back a few days, but this is sorely needed. It will not be just for PXC private trading, it will be for most of the coins, with no fees for anyone.

Give me a few more hours and I will open it for beta.

Sorry if this is a bit of a ramble, I just woke up Smiley and I have not been getting much sleep lately, or seen my wife and kids.. lol

Michael

I guess YaCoinYeah is saying iammatrix made up the 10k donation PM's.  Because that is all I was said when I got "banned" from the exchange for "spreading rumors".  YaCoinYeah wouldn't explain himself because apparently fucking with other peoples money doens't deserve that kind of respect.

I have lost all faith in the coin because of him.

When will diff go down  Huh Huh Huh

Were on block #33217ish.  With 2400 blocks per difficulty change.

33217/2400 = 13.84 (means 13 difficulty changes, were 84% of the way through #13)

2400-(.84*2400)= 384 blocks left till difficulty change.

2.5 mins per block target = 960 mins or 16 hours.  This is assuming the target time is matched, which I am not sure is true or not.  I would guess around that amount of time from this post.
how can we check the est next diff

I know its a factor of the target block time (2.5 mins for PXC) and whether blocks are solved on average faster or slower than that time.  However, I do not know the exact calculation to get a current estimate.  If anyone knows, I would be enjoy learning.
