ffs that is a lot to read.... about half way through it and it looks mighty interesting.
Hey billotronic, thanks for having a look! Sorry about it being super long - there's been so much going on around the code as well! Getting that across in a short way is a challenge that's hard to meet. Can you elaborate on this for the airdrop?:: If you have contributed to the advancement of technology in its many forms, plan to, or are keen to participate in Decred, please ensure your URL links to material that demonstrates this. With regards to your question, what Decred is hoping to do is get people involved who are doers - so it's not just a free-for-all giveaway. If you read it, and it resonates with you in some way, and you can see it growing from this foundation - in particular if can see yourself joining the project and being part of it, then you would qualify for the airdrop. Even just having an account that's been active in discourse on the issues, that's important and worthwhile. The hope is to get people involved through the airdrop who are either interested in developing the actual Decred technology (software, etc.) or develop the project and governance in other ways. So that's really all it's about, trying to find people who are interested and want to walk this journey together. It's not going to be a project where those who were there first call all the shots - it's going to be open and collaborative. A place where contributing will reward. ^uhhh so how can i contribute since i got burned on the mock airdrop ,,grrrr :\

Company 0 (c0) are the guys that developed Decred and btcsuite. They are the main developers working on both packages, but not the only developers. They have a long history of free and open-source work. btcsuite for example is a suite of packages and tools for working with Bitcoin in Go (golang) including btcd, a full node, mining capable, Bitcoin implementation. They've also done a ton of work on bitrig - which is an OpenBSD-based operating system. Just a little background on their software development work in the past. That's the main force behind Decred in terms of development, funding, and infrastructure at present. i'm noob never herd of these catzzz ====> https://github.com/orgs/btcsuite/people--- https://www.bitrig.org/this^ ? :-) *edit -- oh wait here is this guy lols --> Dave Collins

Dev, community asking you to use your premine coins to user didn't received airdrop with a confirmation links.
Are you going to listen your community or not?
Or you listen only what is convenient for you?
Can you just wait till the buzz is over and the number 1 priorites are done eg Gui wallet and pos pool. They said that they will clarify the situation with those who were rejected at the second filter. Just be patient, and remember airdrop is a gift not a right. I understand that you are frustrated but have some patience Yes, sorry bro'. sorry. i'm just frustrated. Cause dev are not respondig at all. Sometimes when noone give you a quick answer, means that some mistake have be done and they have to repair for it. And hope this will be the case. But yes, i'm quite disappointed and frustrated. My address is not on public list, so, dev, please send a pm about what's happened. Cause i didn't used tor or other shittie stuff to exclude the aidrop control system. Sorry again. you're saying you got a confirmation link but no coins in the address you submitted? you in charge of this "airdrop" ? .. ya this is not going to gin up support from the community ~ what is this? :\ meh

i call bullshit ...airdrop seed? lmfao :-) You can call it whatever you like, but to get your airdrop you will need aidrop seed for both wallets (web/dcrwallet) no matter what. ok well i'm not sure where they come from...i'm not getting any answers ,,, so it looks like an insider thing ~~~ :\

Hi just import my seed with the webwallet. how much Decred is 630,000 dbits ? And why the balance is locked by pending payment? I have to wait? Preferences -> Unit -> DCR It must be around 282 DCR. About the second half I'm not that sure, 256 blocks confirmation have passed already for coins to mature. Those who have testnet wallet, clean your cookies or delete it manualy (Preferences -> Advanced -> Delete wallet) and create new from a seed. Omg i have only 0.635374 DCR lol Airdrop is not generous And what does it mean : Payment accepted, but not yet broadcasted ? you serious? lol :-)

Dev could you write a guide how to get coins from airdrop (step by step) and the second question when can we expect downloadable gui wallet?
there was a step by step in the confirmation email. if you did not receive one... well no airdrop for you i received the confirmation..just no coins!!! :\

Pretty sure they caught some of the "bad" registrations, but there were only 3xxx accepted because they closed the airdrop a week early due to people claiming how easily they could fool their "layers of security". I could be wrong, I only read the thread here and there, but that is what stuck out in my mind.
No fud intended, just speaking my mind.
A bunch of scammers got caught with an unannounced trap. Many of them think they got through and never really did. They may still think that. There will be details about this soon - as soon as there's a chance to breathe and speak again! One should take claims of many multiple accounts with a grain of salt. The airdrop was not closed a week early - it was closed as scheduled. This is why were are detailed timestamps available. so whats the story on the so called airdrop? :-) i was "approved" yet haven't received any coins ! put your address in the search box https://mainnet.decred.org/mine are showing as sent nope nothing , not even a reply from the email ... hmmm sounds real professional! :\

God you people are morons, 800,000 DCR in airdrop. It's called using multiple emails/Twitter accounts/Facebook accounts and a VPN. Sign up 15x and there is your 4300 coins.
Well part of the airdrop process was each applicant would be verified as having a significant social history before being given coins. Problem is alot of goobers around here are so hard-up to shill their other coin bags or get free coins for stuff like this they bother to spend months creating fake profiles. In theory.. In reality, many people simply made new email accounts with no social history attached and signed up a dozen+ times. Anyways, it's in the past, I only wanted to comment on the idiocy of some of this threads participants. True but that was already cleared out and were removed from the airdrop that's why from the so usually mentioned 5000 airdrop participants only 3,244 were accepted for the airdrop. Cheers how many coins do i get? lol :-) i'm still confused it says im accepted but still nothing? It should be about 282 coins ok i've not seen anything yet, i sent you guys an email..i'll report back when i hear something ;-) tia!

"The premine consists of 8% of the total supply of 21 million coins, meaning the premine consists of 1.68 million coins. Rather than allocating the entire premine to the bring-up costs, we decided to split the premine equally between compensation for bring-up and an "airdrop", where we freely give an equal amount of coins to a number of airdrop participants. This means Company 0 and its developers will have put roughly USD 415,000 into the bring-up since April, 2014 and receive 4% of the total supply, 840,000 coins (at USD 0.49 per coin). The remaining 4% will be spread evenly across a list of airdrop participants as part of an effort to build the Decred network and decentralize its distribution. Coins held by Company 0 will be used to fund its ongoing work on open-source projects, such as Decred and btcsuite.
Giving away these coins in an airdrop allows us to accomplish several things at once for the project: enlarge the Decred network, further help decentralize the distribution of coins, and allow us to get coins into the hands of people who are interested in participating in the project. Decred is fundamentally about technological progress, so the airdrop will target individuals that have made contributions to advance technology in its various forms. The maximum number of airdrop participants is capped at 5,000individuals, so we recommend registering sooner rather than later. These coins will be given away unconditionally and there is zero expectation of Decred receiving anything from you in return for these coins."
What's 4% of 21,000,000?
hi i signed up for the "airdrop" ~~~ wheres my coins? :-) many thanks!
