61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: InflationCoin - IFLT - 80% PoS Year II - Yobit - Alipay - LocalBitcoins on: February 02, 2018, 07:07:10 PM
Not really sure about such a coin. It looks to be high inflationary, which is always the challenge of POS coins, if not properly controlled. And as mentioned obviously tend to fork easily. Why this is the case I actually do not know really. Can someone explain?

You're mentioning a case where a new Blockchain network is not properly maintained or kept online, and no users have a copy of the longest chain from the lead miners. We have dedicated high speed servers from the cryptochat and 2 other sources that are online 24/7 compared to a new network with peers only and exchanges, so we haven't run into this problem since hosting private servers for the Blockchain.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ETHLend - Decentralized Lending on Ethereum Network (bounty) on: January 30, 2018, 01:34:53 AM
More people need to know about this lending service over Metamask on the ETH Blockchain, seems to be starting out great.

Found a small bug today. You cannot send more than 100 million IFLT at once. The wallet goes an strike when trying Smiley. Need to split in smaller amounts.

Not really a bug, just a limit on transactions set by the original developer.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: InflationCoin - IFLT - 80% PoS Year II - Livecoin exchange 12/15 - Yobit- Alipay on: December 05, 2017, 09:04:52 PM
Yes, absolutely agree to this. The volume is basically gone as nobody wants to sell for subSatoshis and rather sit on their stash of coins. It would go hand in hand, price moves, trading moves the price and vice versa.

Just need to get this started somehow and make it interesting. Could be connected do a project, for instance micropayments. But this needs a huge effort as it would mean real world deployment, not just playing around online with some artificial coin with no use.

Integration with TOR may be something that could be done, people are interested in such things, look at the DeepOnion hype. And they did not really anything else than copying code from BitcoinPlus and some others. Could also be done for IFLT.

DeepOnion hype is real!  I feel like I only see it because I'm super into it, but it feels good to see it being talked about elsewhere!  However, it is full of features... I don't think TOR alone would save IFLT.  The strength of IFLT is the wallet!  I'd love to see more wallet features and upgrades.

You should already be able to use the InflationCoin client with TOR or VPN through standard software. The Bitcoin wiki also gives instructions here on how to connect to an enabled TOR server connection through the proxy settings for running your client/node as a hidden service.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Tor
https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/master/doc/tor.md

That's interesting!  Good to know.

I appreciate that it is built in to Onion, but it is certainly neat that you can add it yourself to things!

Which brings me to IFLT again, I appreciate its wallet and I see a lot of people here liking it too!  I like the idea of tweaking the wallet and making it better all the time.  What wallet features does IFLT lack that you'd like to see?

For next generation features if possible, we're looking to upgrade to the new Litecoin wallet after it's released. Here is the concept design overview by Franklyn.

https://medium.com/litecoin-foundation/redesigning-litecoin-core-with-lightning-capabilities-3a8ebbea590a

For the standard wallet that's out right now, we're looking implement a transaction mixer for more confidential or private operations. The current mobile wallet also has some cosmetic issues that are going to be ironed out in future versions.

@Darkstar, please, what is the latest source? Simple question.

The hub mode version has some additional seed nodes added besides the main changes but besides that, on the main source code page https://github.com/FermiGBM/inflationcoin had the latest qt version updated and cryptochat's nodes hardcoded in from the developer's original repository. I also already answered this question earlier in the thread.

Yes, I know that. I however need the daemon, not the qt version. I'm trying now with the FermiGBM sources. They seem to be the latest available.

Both the hub mode and original source daemon's should be working, had already compiled them ourselves. I can make more compilation instructions another time also but it follows the same guidelines as other Bitcoin-sourced assets.

Found this one: https://github.com/FermiGBM/inflationcoin

Not the hub mode, the master. Is that the latest source for the standard wallet? Thanks!

Somebody already made compiles for the RaspberryPi wallets, you can try them here and is also listed in the thread:

The price is stuck in nowhere territory. It does not matter in the long run. It will one day go up or it will die, either way, it does not really matter.

The coin is fun to play with, I have a 9 digits number, it stakes great, it made me learning a lot and I will hodl IFLT. One day it may reach 1 BTC Satoshi, that would make it worth then perhaps 10000$ (1 BTC), who knows. If not, then not.

I don't see anyone working on real world applicability unfortunately. That Android Wallet was a one day star but did not move from there. I could imagine IFLT as micropayment coin, bank the unbanked, like OmiseGo and TenX do, just at a lower price. But for this there would have to be some ecosystem and people put into place.

I agree with this statement, the price is just suppressed too much by the inflation tbh and now it doesn't even have the volume to stay alive another year to reach 8% and there is no other appeal to buy inflation other then it stakes at 80%. If I were in control of this coin I would attempt to breath life back into the project by either a rebrand or honestly the best option a coin swap. XLR just did one to enable masternodes and so far so good it seems to have work the project is gaining steam. Just my two sats on what could be done...wow thats worth a lot of inflation actually. Roll Eyes Grin

The coin already has plenty of momentum to last for years and more to come in my opinion if not as long as the timecycles of BTC, with more implementations and adaptations in the works while the current team is here. The information has been healthily updated over time and will continue that way. Sidechains to introduce more functionality such as Smart Coins and instant transactions on the Ripple, Stellar, and Bitshares networks seem like a more viable option currently that don't require hard forks, and the basic foundations have already been created. We would like to do something more original then masternodes on the main chain unless a viable service that actively uses them becomes available. Right now cross chain atomic swaps are already compatible on the main chain via BlocknetDX, and are also interested in adapting to new versions of wallets such as Litecoin's when it's finally released.

Besides that, we'd like to see a mixer for confidential transactions implemented in a future version of the wallet which won't require a hard fork, as private transactions seem to be a basic function of all the major cryptocurrencies available. Dash also utilizes a mixer, Zk-snarks are being implemented on Ethereum, and mixing services are already available for Bitcoin and Litecoin on various websites. As cryptocurrency becomes more valuable, these types of things should become standard practice to protect users and also lower chances of central failure. Youtuber Trevon James was also recently hacked and robbed of 111 BTC from one of his main cryptocurrency addresses, but was also dealing giveaways on every video directly from his main account address which isn't very wise, and also storing his wallet with a 3rd party (Exodus) that has access to more information that puts him in more risk or danger of attacks/schemes. A private light client or full node core wallet for him to store his funds on would've been a better option.

We believe the inflation rate with sharp yearly deflation over 4 years is working well, as it introduces the elements of dependency into asset's system compared something that starts out with no users using a coin's utility. The Android wallet still needs a bit more cosmetic work and improvements will be done in the future as more time and funding becomes available.

Is adding to livecoin still up of plans?

It's under review of investment performance right now in additional hedges, and other alternate plans are in the works as we monitored the asset performance on their website versus the costs. The cryptocurrency targets may reach extreme levels in the future that would scare away the usual typical investors especially one managed by a small community starting out, so a smaller hedge such as IFLT/USD managed by private investors with long term plans and regulated funding pools may be a better option. Coinexchange.io has already offered a more reasonable price earlier this year and is aimed to be released on for certain within the reasonable price ranges.

IFLT Update 11/24/2017:

The InflationCoin Twitter is currently inaccessible from a password reset lock on the account with an expired email domain, and will be looking for a new social media manager to run an alternate page with the latest updates and offers. Please send an email to info@inflationcoin.org if you're interested in hosting another Twitter account, another Twitter page which is also still operating is InflationCoin Brazil.

what about the purse on crypto? Did you contact them?

We'll check the status on the data migration at Cryptopia and you can also email support yourself, they usually respond pretty fast.

It's official, the stake rate has went down to 80%  Cry But i am still going to keep on staking since the payouts are still good compared to other coins.

Here is the link to confirm the 80% stake rate now:
http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/IFLT/

Indeed 80% interest rate/year is still a good coin to stake. It shouldn't switch to 80% POS on 7 November? Exactly after 1 year after the first block was mined.

The original developer counted 1 year in the code as 525600 blocks, possibly also the blockchain was initiated earlier before launching on Bitcointalk.

after switching to 80% all the steaks are reset? I had a steak of 1 600 000 from 23.10 today received 47 000? counted% after switching to 80% and before that the coins burned out?

When your client finally mines a stake it will output a reward based on the current stake subsidy calculation so the compounding results differently, but your coin age is still factored into the total.

So im liking this listing on cryptopia and plan  and I plan to pick up a few of these but first a few questions though:
https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/MarketItem/8124

1. When do you plan to restock them?
2. Is there a limit to how many you can order?
3. Is the 20% rebate in IFX per staking box or per order?
4. How can we be sure the firmware isn't compromised on these PI's are they being drop shipped?
5. Is topia an escrow service or do we have to provide an escrow?

Thanks

They had them in stock recent weeks and had sold out around the same time we posted the offer on Twitter. Right now the discount is limited to twice per month, once per week, and will be featuring different products each month. Also aside from the featured discounts you can purchase any game at a discount rate also by ordering from the discord chat server. The IFX rebate can count for the entire order, and eligible to be redeemable for InflationCoin after 3 months. Eventually will update the thread with more info as long as it continues to go well. For escrow we're using Cointopay to accept payments in InflationCoin, which works similar to Bitpay and can also bid directly from the Cryptopia marketplace.

We're also looking into backing the asset through custom Smartcoins and margin trading on Bitshares when enough capital from additional investments has been raised, it can be a cleaner way to peg a market asset's value and doesn't require traders to need direct exchange liquidity from order books always present, all coins have an in-built function to settle their position based on the initially specified price and funds pooled into the asset's contract. The coins are created and borrowed with collateral to back the core pool unlike issuing general digital assets.

The NavPis come with a customized OS pre-installed on the hardware, even if something didn't work, it's still a normal RaspberryPi device that would work with the latest linux build of RaspberryPi 3.

2017-10-30 12:09 - Intimation of closure of Novaexchange

Kindly note "Novaexchange" will have new owners and management effective April 2018, with major upgrades to the exchange to better handle scaling, stability and security.

For better management and security of customer funds we have decided to close down Novaexchange so that the users can withdraw all their funds with no participation/responsibility of action of the new management.

Preliminary plan:
2017-10-30 This information goes public, user registration closes, addcoin page closes, disabling deposits of ETC and ETH
2017-11-30 Deposits disabled for ALL coins, all users get level 3 verified account level
2017-12-15 ONE last deposit scan to take care of deposits made after 2017-11-30
2018-01-31 Email reminder to all registered users
2018-02-28 Trading engine stops, dice game stops, API stops
2018-03-31 Login stop, website replaced with information
2018-04-15 Support closes, all Novaexchange user data removed

what will happen to the coin and will there be found new sites for the exchange of coins?

A new management team is taking over next year and will potentially keep us on board so this is a temporary period. They still will be actively trading until February 2018 with deposits closing in December and other smaller exchanges we're listed on are still growing, so considering the current market depths they have in holding would be a minimal effect overall.

We're still in contact with other exchanges currently and working on adding some things to the api for compatibility with BarterDEX exchange software, also Remember to vote on Mercatox exchange if you haven't already, we can provide a small deposit to any user that doesn't feel like moving dust to vote cause the minimum deposit for Dogecoin is only 50 coins.

We are not going anywhere guys, this is bad, a lot of our accounts were stolen main was our email where we had our private keys backups, we fucked up. We shouldn't have stored it unencrypted on our email, but we are not leaving the project. We are trying to get our accounts back and save some of the dev elite right now.

again do not trust any other accounts, we changed password on our bitcointalk but we still dont have any of our other accounts back.

You can message Theymos or Cyrus with a copy of a verified message from a crypto address on those accounts to have them recovered.

77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PLAYKEY: DECENTRALIZED CLOUD GAMING PLATFORM on: October 27, 2017, 08:03:57 PM
This is a really good idea but I believe the mining system should be incentivized in a more traditional way. If you could create some kind of issuance for PKT that goes along with every Ethereum Block and rewards each miner based on a performance index reported from the cloud software (fractals/sec, Gigaflops, Teraflops, etc.), it can create a more reliable system for a larger number of miners.

You could also add a difficulty algorithm to this based on the total hashpower to limit the amount received related to the computing power similar to legacy mining. This way you have a system with rewards based on some intrinsic economics then being dependent on one company's revenue which will fluctuate up and down each day, and a much higher capacity to fund new machines directly from the blockchain in a trustless manner.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Gold - No Premine Client on: October 25, 2017, 02:43:33 AM
Running a Bitcoin Gold node from Network Backup

Download a full client from the latest version of Bitcoin Core

Load a network copy (bootstrap.dat) to decrease syncing time or wait until client is fully in sync with the main network.

Compile and run Bitcoin Gold (Bitcoin-qt) from a terminal prompt on Ubuntu OS or virtual machine with Linux installed (See build-unix.md, libsodium 1.0.14 to solve dependency issues).

Backup network data from the main chain using the option -datadir=(Bitcoin data) or copying folder contents into the Bitcoin Gold data directory, wait for blocks to fully load from file.

Code:
bitcoin-qt -datadir=<source folder directory> -daemon -rpcport=8332

Invalidate block of the first block on the mainchain after the hard fork to switch to the Bitcoin Gold network (block 491408).

Code:
bgold-cli invalidateblock 0000000000000000002ac644c9ba8ac3be966276fb7fc8f3baa1a3b9bdc615f1

This solo mining guide to generate to a specific address or the daemon's address should work for basic mining, can read more here:

I got the qt wallet client running on linux with low connections, after get the original chain data onloaded it may be possible to start moving some more blocks, pools should follow soon after for either this version or the original proposal. My node ip is 118.172.109.106.
