1  Economy / Services / Re: Roobet.com | Art Contest - $5000 Prizepool up for grabs! Ends August 31st on: August 22, 2020, 05:01:26 AM

--snip--

"As long as they don't copy the whole game/movie it is legal"

But the case here is different.
He just copied the artwork itself and that artwork won 1st place last time lol.
Well I don't want to argue anymore, at the end judges will be the one who'll pick their bets.
I'm just speaking for the rest of the participants here. Thank you!

Who is arguing? I am not arguing? I am just explaining why I am right.

Do you know what is parody art? it's basically copying a piece and adding a humor elements to it and it is consider legal, that's the case here It's legal as long as you don't copy and paste and add something new, because that is going to turn into forgery. As long as you copy and draw it from scratch it is legal. And again, I am not arguing with you, I am just explaining why I am right and you are wrong.

And btw, I don't care about the competition, I am just explaining here that your concept of what's legal and illegal is 100% wrong. In the end the judge will still the one who are going to pick the winner but, that doesn't change the fact that your statement here is wrong, and your allegations is wrong. I am just standing for what is right.

I just got online to pass my roobet review and see this haha. BTW, Goodluck to all of the participants!

I am just gonna quote here my answer since Hhampuz said enough, Sorry Hhampuz on creating a side discussion here

Quote
I just don't get why you're saying "Parody Art" lmao do you even know about copyright?
Do you paint? Are you an artist? Stop acting all mighty here coz I can provide proof of what I'm saying as "heavy referencing"
This would be my last reply. Lol

I know copyright and I know everything about it because I study law, being not an artist doesn't mean I don't have the right to comment about this, that is 'Ad hominem'.

Hi everyone, I saw that the winning place last time had such a good design that I decided to put a different style on it. I hope you enjoy.

The insert image isn't working so here's the link https://i.ibb.co/LryZqYJ/roobet.png

Good Luck to everyone!

Is it valid to entry an artwork with "Heavy referencing" from the winning piece last time?
Also, did the original artist gave you permission to use his idea and concept? If so, then there's no problem with this.
If not, then there will be an issue here.... I guess, plagiarism.

"All of the following are considered plagiarism:
turning in someone else's work as your own. copying words or ideas from someone else without giving credit. failing to put a quotation in quotation marks. giving incorrect information about the source of a quotation" - Source: Plagiarism.org
-----
I hope judge would be fair to all artwork that were done by "Conceptualizing" and "Originality"
I personally admire those who tried their best to do original artwork even though they are not skilled enough.

Just dropping my thoughts about this.
Thanks! Smiley

You have no idea on what you are talking about. Copying Ideas, art style etc, is not plagiarism. The only plagiarism that can be do in art is copying the whole piece of a finished artwork, That's why parody in art is legal and can do by anyone! Referencing is legal, copying the style is legal, copying the idea is legal. The only thing that is not legal is copy a piece 100% with no addition and forgery.

There's a whole lot difference between plagiarism in art and literature[word base work]. If you copy and paste in literature then it's plagiarism - that is what's stated in the fact that you have given at Plagiarism.org, but in art there's a whole lot of concept to be consider because it is visual and not base on letter and words.

I know what you are saying, but your knowledge of what is plagiarism and what is legal in art is very wrong.

Just look at the movies and games industry, they are just copying ideas of each other as long as they don't copy the whole game/movie it is legal.

5  Economy / Economics / Re: Public address complexity and economy of a coin on: October 15, 2019, 04:04:11 PM
Ok, do you think the complexity of public address affects the economy of a coin or a chain? For example, if bitcoin had an easy to remember the address, would it be adopted more readily? The same question is valid for ETH, of course.

People are irked by complex addresses and one of the reasons old folks are not into crypto is because everything is too complicated, as they are not computer age people like us. They like it simple and I tend to think that simpler addresses would help them adapt, and improve the crypto economy.

Recognizable names also is a factor in our economy. It promotes safe, faster and easy transaction to avoid complicated addresses. Shorter addresses provides assurance for those who don't want to lose something in them/ Also for beginners to start their crypto activities secured and successful. For example, Digital names is good in making you an easy to understand wallet address and avoid complex addresses.
6  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Collecting Bitcoin Donations with a recognizable address on: October 15, 2019, 03:57:48 PM
I had an earlier post about Chinese collecting bitcoin as payment and another post about Hong Kong free press collecting donations. One of the things was that they had to use the same darn address for collecting BTC. Now if the addresses for donations were more recognizable I think things would be a lot easier for them.
About two days ago I found this site that gives you a common name like BOB or BitcoinBull or CryptoBull for a bitcoin address. So, I am thinking that things would be easier for large organizations to collect money if they had recognizable names instead of a long string of numbers and letters. What do you think, would it make it easier, in terms of adoption?

Using easy to understand names promotes safe and secured transactions. It provides assurance about your account to prevent loss in addressing in collectiion. So recognizable wallet address helps easier and faster transactions.
7  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Access wallet addresses easily, without storing private keys or security phrases on: October 15, 2019, 03:25:48 PM
I'm pretty sure everyone has heard of that one person who's device was stolen, or their computer was hacked, stealing wallet addresses, private keys, and even security phrases. Well, that happened to me after someone broke into my hotel room and stole my work laptop.  Fortunately, before they could figure out how to withdraw the funds out of my wallets, I was able to extract the funds and send them to entirely new address, but the difficult part of this was remembering the addresses.  Storing the addresses seemed unlikely, since other secure information would also be stored in the same location.  All I really wanted to was keep an address book to help pay certain vendors and also make deposits into my own accounts.

I'm not sure why, but most wallets do not have an address feature.  Having a one stop shop for all your wallets just make the entire use case easier, and I believe it's that would help attract new crypto users to support the industry and it's movement.  An address book like Digital Names saved me a lot of time to pull up saved files and find the needed address.  Oh, and this is not limited to one specific blockchain, so you can have different wallet address like BTC, ETH, STEEM, ETC, and so on...

Use Digital names, because it helps you to easy remember your aliases in public addresses. It will help you to any transaction to easily pay someone using your account. It will also help you to secure your wallet address to prevent loss. Digital names will help you personally to make faster and quality transactions anytime.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Please, we should not totally eliminate fiat currency on: September 29, 2019, 03:57:50 AM
For now yes, but when the world is fully digital I think we don't need fiat, we need cryptocurrency and for physical money is the Gold. Fiat is just used for now because we are not totally adopting the bitcoin, let's just wait and see what will happen in the future. But for me, the bitcoin will the mode of our payment in the future.
9  Economy / Economics / Re: Trade war Influences on cryptocurrency on: September 29, 2019, 03:55:49 AM
Trading wars can be a very big influence because there will definitely be those who use cryptocurrency to make money transfer transactions or use it for money laundering, so I think this cryptocurrency can have an influence that will make cryptocurrency prices go up or down depending on the war actors who wage war what use cryptocurrency trading is used for.
Bad publicity is still a publicity, I think any news regarding bitcoin will get the attention of the people because that is the main key for bitcoin price to go up, increase the demand of the people I am sure that the bitcoin price will pump. but yeah some news still making the bitcoin price to dump.
10  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the current tax status of crypto-currency in the USA? on: September 29, 2019, 03:54:03 AM
I can’t even imagine how to track a person who has a cryptocurrency. If, of course, the person himself came and said all his data or trades large sums, then this may attract attention in transactions from his wallet. But people who trade not large amounts of cryptocurrency are not worth tracking.
I think they are only taxing the cryptocurrency exchange, because for me there's no way to know if you are a crypto user or not, you will just get caught when you broadcast it to the world haha, but yeah I think the crypto exchange is included and those who are running a business.
11  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Is Still bad? JPMorgan Chase Traders Accused Of Market Manipulation on: September 29, 2019, 03:45:43 AM
Market manipulation is anywhere, even is stock it is manipulated by whales, I think it is just fined because it happens in every type of currency or trades. we need just to be cautious in investing, many coin which have a small volume can be manipulated, just stay out of it and you will be just fine.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin - Can it boost or break a countries economy? on: September 29, 2019, 03:43:00 AM
Bitcoin is not meant to break the economy of any country but rather to help raise the economic status of a country as it gives the people financial freedom and independence. This financial freedom and independence is made possible through the decentralized nature of Bitcoin which grants the users the total control over their own transactions without any third party interruptions.

In my opinion, Bitcoin was created as a peer to peer payment tool based on network transparency so it is difficult to manipulate. If Bitcoin is used as a payment tool, I don't think it will disrupt the economy because a country must have its own currency and Bitcoin is only a complement to this digital age.
I disagree to this, if we used it as mode of payment the government will not get any data out of it, our GDP and GNP will not be affected if there's a massive use of cryptocurrency as mode of payment, I think if they regulate it then the cryptocurrency will not do any harm to the economy, but it will defeats the purpose of the bitcoin which is decentralization.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela's central bank is holding Cryptocurrency! on: September 29, 2019, 03:31:43 AM
Venezuela's central bank is holding Cryptocurrency!

Are you new?  They not only holding cryptocurrency they issued cryptocurrenncy named Petro. That was years ago.   That si probabyl reason why their currency is slosing value so fast since they daytrade.
Yeah, after the super inflation of their currency they transfer to cryptocurrency, I just have no news regarding what's their status regarding running a country using a cryptocurrency as mode of payment. that is the first step for other countries that is suffering on inflation to transfer into crypto.
14  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial crisis 2.0 - What will happen to bitcoin in the next crisis? on: September 29, 2019, 03:24:29 AM
the possibility of cryptocurrency price movements in the future will have a downward movement in prices because this may be influenced by the world economic crisis to be more terrible, many do not trust digital currencies anymore and many people who want to save their assets without having to use digital currencies again.
If there is a economic crisis world wide people will sell off the assets that will have direct implication to their total asset and will look for assets that are not controlled by any government as these crises are a result of bad policies by these politicians and BTCitcoin is an asset which is decentralized and can be trusted than any other investment during recession. Other than these where do people invest during recession, no investment is safe during a recession Tongue.
There's only supply and demand basis regarding the price of the bitcoin, I think bitcoin have a strong community to support it. Yes, there's pumps and dumps but the most important thing is the bitcoin is still going upwards as time passes by. Mass adoption is needed if we want bitcoin to be our mode of payment.
15  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold exist 1000+ years. while bitcoins exist 10 years. on: September 29, 2019, 03:21:22 AM
What is the big deal if bitcoin is young and just exist for at least 10 years? There is no big deal on that since bitcoin has a great and advanced technology while gold is just a precious metal with a price on it. Gold is an old fashioned way of storing value while bitcoin is an advanced asset which it can help you to gain more interest on your money compare to the traditional assets like gold.
both are just backed by supply and demand, Gold have limited supply same with bitcoin. those two are great assets no need to compare it I think. Let's just accept that bitcoin and gold are two great asset, but in this today's world bitcoin is inline with technology so I think using bitcoin is more applicable in our today's society.
16  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin ATM Operators in Nevada Requires License to Operate on: September 29, 2019, 03:17:42 AM
Of course if someone create a business or project they need to get licensed or permit to the government so they can operate without having a problem. I think it's good to get license first before they operate because we know bitcoin is legit so we need also do all process that they need.  Also people can trust to one business if they permit or even a license.
Agree to this, every business needs license to operate. The good part of this that the people that are using the bitcoin will have an easy way to converting the bitcoin into fiat, and also it can make the public interest to invest in bitcoin because if you will see that kind of machine in pubic I am sure that will take a time to look at it or even search on what that's about. it is good for bitcoin community to have that kind of technology.
17  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance legally registered at U.S, does Bitcoin will get increase? on: September 29, 2019, 03:13:10 AM
Any form of adaptation will result to bitcoin price pump. I think if other countries that banned bitcoin will un-ban it, it will make a huge diffident to the price, because what we are targeting is mass adoption.
Every country have a local exchange in terms of bitcoin, this is a big step in mass adoption.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many of you are Satoshi Millionaire? on: September 29, 2019, 03:02:00 AM

To finish I will share the Bitcoin rich list to put you in perspective of how much people have at least 0.01 in Bitcoin savings and how much people have 0.1 or more.

"A picture is worth a thousand words"

Do you see it?

From this picture, we can conclude that there are only a handful of people who have a BTC 100k balance. The rest are addresses with a smaller number of BTC, but with a lot of total addresses. And we are all one of the holders of Bitcoin on that data. damn, I became motivated to increase my balance. Grin

picture means nothing.. people can have lots of small holdings that all add up.

also. seems the OP is just looking to brand some new title before its even special/exclusive
if so, shoulda been more creative.. like fiats '3 comma club' rather than billionaires club
Agree to this, bitcoin is just a like every currency holding some of it don't make you a millionaire lol, it have a limited supply but it doesn't mean holding small portion of it will make you millionaire. Bitcoin is just a normal currency. Smiley
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin mixers be considered illegal by worldwide governments? on: September 29, 2019, 02:57:29 AM
It is indeed illegal for the government to know that there are mixers for bitcoin which is money laundering where the mixers remove any trace of that cryptocurrency like bitcoin. There is nothing new here to know that there are mixers since even with the fiat currency, there is also a process to clean your dirty money.
There is crime everywhere and I don't think they should close the bitcoin mixers because it helps man of bitcoin users to mix their coin and protect their identity. Bitcoin mixers is just one of the many ways to make a crime, I don't think they should close it.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A world of opportunities for freelancers on: September 29, 2019, 02:35:27 AM
bitcoin is being used in so many places throughout the world but it can be so much more. It's obvious that there are so many freelancers in every country. Firms, companies, startups etc.. have a limitation that they can hire freelancers only from their country since they can pay them only in their native currency to avoid hassle of exchange. But if firms, companies, startups etc.. start using bitcoin as a payment method to hire freelancers then there will be so many opportunities for the freelancers since they can get work from anywhere in the world. I don't know why has  this not become a huge thing until now. This could really change the life of freelancers and give a better end result/product to the company they are working for.
For me bitcoin is just a currency don't treat just like something that is out of the world, In terms of freelancing industry the paypal is just fine as a medium of payment in our freelancer. Bitcoin will be fine also but the problem is there's no dispute 1 click means you lose your funds. I still recommend the paypal in this industry because it is more applicable and just fine what it is today.
