1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Market down trend on: February 05, 2018, 03:28:12 PM
Also the regular stockmarkets are down worldwide. And with al the speculation entering the cryptomarkt. You have probably to wait till an uptrent worldwide.
I agree. Sometimes people on here have their heads so far into crypto they forget what's happening outside this industry. Go to any financial website and see what's happening to all the stock markets.

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / I'm kind of glad there's a global crackdown on cryptos going on right now on: February 02, 2018, 10:00:32 AM
I'm 'kind of' glad for a few reasons. I think this industry needs to get it's act together.

1. Too many scams
Nothing will change this but it was getting brazen. There's no other industry where truly blatant scams are advertised so openly. Hat's off to facebook and instagram. CMC take note! The law is now watching! Grin

2. No such things as customer service
The guys in charge of crypto services think they can get away with treating people like pieces of shit. This will change. Time to become grown-ups. The law is now watching! Grin

3. Anonymity is a big lie
Here's an exercise for you. Take two physical coins out of your pocket. Tell me how anybody can trace you using those coins. There is NO crypto where you cannot be traced. Total anonymity in crypto is an absolute lie. Don't be fooled by the hype of the ZCash's etc of the industry. As long as you have an address you can be traced and linked to that address. Get used to it.

4. The tech is not mature
Make sure you've backed up all your wallet files! Anything goes wrong and you are royally screwed. Be careful of webwallets. They get hacked and phishing sites might catch you out one day. Crypto has a LONG way yet to go to be consumer ready. Right now it's just a get rich quick scheme, really.

5. Up Up Up
Maybe now people will learn that there can also be down down down

I believe in crypto, but right now there's so much of it that's just dirty and smelly
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / I predict that.... on: February 02, 2018, 12:11:51 AM
Bitcoin is a strong buy at $9,000.

But I have no money to invest!  Embarrassed
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bloody Markets on: February 01, 2018, 11:59:58 PM
Buy BTC when it hits $99.99 - Bargain basement. Same price as Nike Air Max
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What CRASH? There's a huge sale! on: February 01, 2018, 11:58:06 PM
I always stash some Bitcoins and Ethereums for these bloody sale days.  The best trading strategies for these red days is to either buy more or HODL your coins.  If you didn't sell when the days were green, there is no reason to consider selling when it's red.

Huh??

But if everything is down, then the price relative to BTC remains the same, so no bargain there!
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 5 cryptocurrency- Best Cryptocurrencies to Invest in 2018 on: February 01, 2018, 11:53:43 PM
Really??

I'm looking for MAD profits.

I want cryptos that will move from page 4/5/6 on CMC to page 1 !!

All this top 5, top 10, top 15, is nonsense to me. I cannot even buy new tyres for my jeep with tiny profits.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What CRASH? There's a huge sale! on: February 01, 2018, 11:49:17 PM
It's a sale, but what do you buy it with??  Huh
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What CRASH? There's a huge sale! on: February 01, 2018, 11:40:56 PM
January Sales. Love it!!

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Does this graph remind you of anything??

http://www.internethistorypodcast.com/2017/01/the-history-of-the-dotcom-bubble/

Now look at this:

https://coinmarketcap.com/charts/

There's even a classic noob-trap on both graphs. I hope there's not much further to drop!
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yeah, we're in a bubble... on: February 01, 2018, 11:16:24 PM
I think it's also a great time for alts as well. Personally been looking into ITC for a while and they were even featured in cointelegraph. https://cointelegraph.com/news/unknown-heroes-little-coins-that-generate-big-profit

Love it. There's growth to be had if you research hard enough. Forgive me brothers, but I'm glad there was no ICO for Raiblocks. That one was PURE f***ing luck!
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yeah, we're in a bubble... on: February 01, 2018, 11:12:58 PM
I believe in the long term future of the blockchain, but late 2017 was a bubble, no doubt, and I believe it will be remembered that way no matter what happens in the future. It doesn't have to go to zero to be defined as a bubble. Remember the dotcom bubble? The internet is still here but no-one denies that the bubble burst for some time.

Towards the end of last year my phone was blowing up every day as though I was some kind of drug dealer with some new synthetic drug. People asking where they can get bitcoin (almost screaming). It was frantic. Almost frightening. I don't involve myself in that stuff. When it goes wrong (as it just has) it'll be me they want to blame. No thanks!

I still believe in bitcoin and crypto and there's still a lot more growth potential for the market. Hopefully the people who got burnt will now appreciate the volatile nature of crypto. Some people were SO CONFIDENT that the only way was up!

Yeah, we were in a bubble...

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / People, I'm sorry, but we need crypto banks! on: January 26, 2018, 01:37:42 AM
Lost wallets, lost passwords, lost mobiles, scams, and truly truly truly bad customer service (crypto services are crummy rubbish at caring for customers - it's something to behold - they're lucky they're not all fined and jailed - some people actually believe they're anonymous! Cheesy)...

Global consumers cannot handle cryptos. End of! Fact! Own it! Make your money and run back to FIAT.

If people here on BCT are struggling to hold onto their crypto, then what about the consumer at home who is not as computer literate as the people here?

Paper wallets, hardware wallets... Is this what this industry is offering as some form of security for the whole world... seriously??? That is the joke of the 21st century!

Crypto will only move forward once we have crypto banks. A place where people have assurances for their funds.

Let me be blunt. I can afford to lose what I hold in crypto, but can my grandma afford to put her life savings into crypto and lose it all? She needs the assurance of a bank. She needs assurance/insurance that guarantees her funds. She doesn't want to be her own bank. She wants someone to look after, and guarantee, her money. She wants to know it's there when she needs it.

Imagine your grandma talking to someone like the boss of BitGrail over a dodgy entry...

Be your own bank is a myth that will never happen in our lifetime.

Maybe crypto will become an underlying payment protocol but I don't believe we will ever get to a point where people will be their own bank.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / If crypto wants to survive... on: January 21, 2018, 08:27:30 PM
...then devs and platform owners need to improve security and custServ (or support) and communicate more. Joe public is getting more involved. If you've been in the industry long time then you know that crypto was never good for custServ, but lately bad custServ has gone parabolic.

Devs and other project bods dreaming of Teslas, Lambos, and no mortgage is cool but if you're not treating your customers right then you're wasting your time (and might even end up in court! Cheesy)

e.g.
1. IOTA - massive theft scam - devs are absent
2. BitConnect  - need I say more? And there's other MLMs coming thru - people have lost life savings!
3. Bitgrail - Terrible customer service (yeah, small exchange, one guy - if not up to job then don't offer the service)

As an industry we need to start offering levels of security and custServ that consumers are used to. If we don't, then consumers won't use cryptos. Simple.
16  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitgrail - treating their users like shit on: January 21, 2018, 05:00:35 AM
This twitter search (bitgrail verification) will tell you all you need to know about how BitGrail treat their customers. They're actually worse than Cryptsy (remember them)?

https://twitter.com/search?q=bitgrail%20verification&src=typd

Not one reply, update, or even acknowledgement from BitGrail...

LOL! Crypto customer service at it's absolute best. You couldn't make it up! Roll over YoBit, there's a new kid in town!

 Cheesy
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XRB]Cryptocurrency's killer app: RaiBlocks micropayments on: January 02, 2018, 08:58:26 PM
Some serious FUD in here. Anyways, I've never seen a coin do well without some well earned fudding. This is nothing compared to what went on with ETH... and by the same group of people being quoted here. We're still waiting for ShelbyCoin (the 'world-beating' coin/platform that's meant to be created by the main arguer in that thread).

I've had disagreements with those guys previously. My attitude: "There are them who talk, and there are them who do". I like them who do.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the biggest profit you made with altcoins? on: December 28, 2017, 05:02:45 PM
RaiBlocks (XRB) - When it was first launched the dev came on here, explained how the block lattice worked and asked people to try it out. It sounded interesting so I tried it out for an evening. I netted 50,000 XRB (50 blocks, which was 'meh'). They were actually worth less than nothing back then
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yeah, we're in a bubble... on: December 19, 2017, 11:33:26 PM
I think you should not be too worry. Each person has own view and they can do what they think. However, have you ever seen which bubble can live over 8 years? Cryptocurrency are becoming more and more popular in the world and it is accpepted by many corporation. It can not be a bubble.
It's certainly something to behold. It's like that vid of the UFO.... unexpected!

Cheesy
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yeah, we're in a bubble... on: December 19, 2017, 11:32:19 PM
People that try and predict this, act smarter than they are. If you know when the bubble will burst then start shorting and become a trillionaire. Otherwise, stop using this shitty term "bubble" to sound smart.
Sound smart?? Are you for real?? I really can't stand superior noob types on here who like to insult people to try and seem more savvy than they actually are. Real irritants.
