161  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Escrows [Updated Daily] Trade Safely! on: May 17, 2015, 06:11:59 AM
If you don't trust any escrow, just don't use their service.

Hey if you want to add anything how about something of substance.

WE ALL KNOW NEVER RISK ANYMORE THAN YOU ARE WILLING TO LOSE.

The question I have is simple why aren't people asking for MORE information?

Seems simple right?

People trust the escrow they use, so they don't ask more information.

[sarcasm]Well then problem solved. They 'trust' a known supporter of a scam and his name is plastered on list as 'reputable' or 'trustworthy'. [/sarcasm]

You are not really helping make this a safer environment for users who want better more trustworthy escrows.

It is only a problem of trust and I know bitcoin does not  teach us to trust  third part services.... But it is our decision to trust someone.

Well 3rd party services should be better VETTED especially ones like Quickseller. It doesn't require a lot of thought and or work to set up a more rigorous system that allow for the vetting in Real Life of these escrows. Not a hey he is a good guy I trust sort of list that is just going to end badly for everyone using some of these more anonymous and questionable service providers especially ones like Quickseller.

You are not really helping make this a safer environment for users who want better more trustworthy escrows. Is this not the POINT of this thread? Or is it merely to post all escrow options whether or not some are more circumspect than others? And if that is the case who is the OP and why would he not put a fair warning on some of these escrows with regards to their anonymity?

You need another column. Zefir was clear as day about his ID and how he could be reached in the event there were issues. It is lazy to just say people "trust" an escrow. You have to do more than post a table.

Trust
Yeah right: shut up and give me your money!

If unsure whether to trust me, write down 10 Bitcoin members you respect most and check if they can vouch for me.

Communication

I live in Switzerland (TZ: UTC+02) and have a exhausting day-job, which limits me to communicate in my evening hours. So if I did not respond to your email or your post within some hours, it is just because I'm at work. Please be patient.

Cheers,
Zefir

Escrow

I did not offer escrow for a simple reason: as soon as the payments fill up to 782.1 BTC, I'll order another batch. No idea how long the chips will be in stock, but I would like to act fast. BTW, John and Graet escrowed my ASICMINER board seat auction, they can vouch for me.

Reservation, Payments

Some users ask for reservations, since they can't get hold of BTC fast. No need to hurry, you have two weeks time and I'll ensure there will be enough chips for anyone (other than they are out of stock). Also, only BTC payments. The blockhain is the indisputable proof of your payment, let's use it as is and prevent manual accounting.

This is a REPUTABLE escrow... he has a business address. He is KNOWN. What has Quickseller provided informationally? Nothing.
163  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Escrows [Updated Daily] Trade Safely! on: May 17, 2015, 06:00:25 AM
If you don't trust any escrow, just don't use their service.

Hey if you want to add anything, how about something of substance not wasted one liner platitudes.

WE ALL KNOW NEVER RISK ANYMORE THAN YOU ARE WILLING TO LOSE THAT IS BASELINE BITCOINTALK.

The question I have is simple. Why aren't people demanding for MORE information?

Seems simple right?

Why trust an anonymous asshole like Quickseller and put him on a list here on the internet. Especially when that said 'escrow' remains anonymous and pushes negative agenda for known scammer?

Those are the questions not being asked!

You can't put people on a list like this and not do more due diligence especially with someone as controversial as Quickseller.
164  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Escrows [Updated Daily] Trade Safely! on: May 17, 2015, 05:50:47 AM
Which escrows, if any, are known in real life and provided details about their business address?

Would you not want to make sure these people are vetted and are able to be reached in real life?

Seems to me that should be a prime requirement for any escrow.

I think it is a good idea, but a lot if users want to stay anonymous. It is also for a question of security Wink.

That is a stupid risk. Very stupid. You have no 'absolute' security from any escrow, but especially so for an anonymous escrow.

I used John the Dong in the day and he was KNOWN. These people are not dealing tens of thousands of dollars or hundreds of thousands of dollars. Most 100$ of dollars up to thousands maybe. What security do they employ now? Obviously they have ties to others in these forums and are KNOWN to some so is that not a weakness already? How do we know who they confide in about their identity?

You really shouldn't be accepting Quicksellers word for it or those who "vouch" for him. That is just not a good starting point.
165  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Escrows [Updated Daily] Trade Safely! on: May 17, 2015, 05:46:52 AM

Seems to me that should be a prime requirement for any escrow.

Based on that AVOID people especially like Quickseller who are steadfast in keeping their identity hidden while supporting known VAT fraudsters like dogie.

Personally I provided escrow for a group of investors and held nearly $80,000 USD and was able to pay for components. Further I was able to get a refund when those components didn't come in and I immediately refunded every last BTC of that investment without fail or question. I am certainly far more trustworthy than Quickseller ever will be based on one escrow that I provided. I am known. My personal details were made available and that was the minimum you have to provide when you are dealing with others assets. Why is he hiding his identity? Why did you continually call for people not provide personal information when holding others assets? I wonder?
166  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Great Sponsorship Opportunity For CryptoCurrency Exchange With PICISI on: May 17, 2015, 05:39:57 AM
It has come to my attention that Vod was feed poor intelligence by someone wanting to be a PICISI sponsor, the information did not originate from any PICISI sponsor as we were mislead to believe.  Not one of the 23 PICISI sponsors issued a complaint, requested a refund, or expressed a desire to change their association.

So all of Vod's irresponsible behavior was not in defense of any PICISI's sponsor, that's why he would not tell me who it was because he could not, it was a total fabrication, no sponsor complaint ever existed.

To everyone reading this message PICISI is a good plan, PICISI will be an honorable company, and PICISI will do great things for the CC industry.

As a direct result of this madness the following change is now in effect -- sponsorship will no longer be open to all, there is only 1 sponsorship invitation outstanding, I am now withdrawing that invitation.  If someone wants to be a PICISI sponsor it will be incumbent on them to persuade PICISI as to why that should be.

Here is what hasn't changed -- sponsorship is 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed, always was, always will be.

1. You will not be releasing any personal information or CV Armis?

2. You have closed PICISI to everyone and only those who would have to be positively vetted  by you are going to gain entry into the program?

Does this not seem to be a bit backwards?

You want support yet you are not willing to provide any details about yourself and yet you want to ask those applying to go through a more rigorous application process to make sure they are the 'right' sponsor?

Ok I think you lost some credibility there on that alone.

100% Satisfaction? Seriously what does that mean?

I am not satisfied and I am not even a sponsor and I am not likely to go through some ambiguous right of passage while we can't verify your references and experience.

Again Armis are you going to provide a more detailed profile or not?
167  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Pics of Large Miner Hosting Center Under Construction on: May 17, 2015, 05:35:00 AM
The crew working on the A/C and ventilation ribbed me...

I wonder why it was necessary for them to work on the A/C and ventilation?

Was it because they were responsible for destroying customers equipment in their overheated datacenter?
168  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement - ASIC mining processor by Butterfly Labs on: May 17, 2015, 05:27:54 AM
I think if anyone wants that data they would have to compile it and post without BFL help.

Where are all the BFL tech support people, non-employees, who used to have a direct line into the BFL and had product before the customers so amazingly that you would have thought they were part of the BFL fold right?

At this point those people have gone dark and I wonder why that is the case?

Where did LIGHTFOOT go? Truly amazing that as soon as the veil was finally lifted on the fraud these great community supporters of BFL just went POOF. One can speculate why and it was a cozy relationship given that Bruce, SLok, and others frequently discussed the Monarch in the thread I have quoted below. Lots of data was coming directly from Lightfoot from some sources inside BFL obviously.

Well, the 300gh unit is back up and running, but with a slightly higher error count than normal. 15%, normally I see 2-5%. It's also a tiny bit slower, 280 or so instead of 300. Most of the errors are on the front chip but it's purring along and mining for the owner.

The two 700's are a different pair: One of them is running with one of it's two chips normal, the other 100% errors. Checking the FETs I see the voltage is a lot lower on that side; either the whole chip is toast or all of the FETs on that side are damaged. Or a *low* side FET failed, but that would create a hell of a hot spot. I may hook it up to the scope this weekend to see if the gates are all smooth or if one channel is odd (pointing to an intermittent FET).

The second one is dead. Removing the FETs I found that the PCB under the FET itself was burned in two places on both sides. Nothing spectacular, just a <1mm pad had vaporized under the FET. Result is I can't put a new one on, I did a quick try swapping in 17506 FETs but they can't hold 350gh a side without blowing up. They can hold 250, so I may rebuild this one as a 500gh unit.

Or I will have them RMAed with BFL. The water blocks on all of them share a common thread: Leaks or serious weirdness in the front block. I haven't see this on other units and the guy has other Monarchs that are fine. This miht just be a case where a bad batch of cooling blocks leaked over time, which then caused the chips to overheat with spectacular power draws and interesting results.

The 300 held because when it heated up the damage was minor. On the 700's one knocked out a side, and the other ran till the FETs failed hard. Not unbelievable.

Interesting. Well, I'll try replacing the FETs on the left side this weekend to bring the one unit back to normal, and will then try lower speed FETs on the other one and drop the voltage to the point where it will run at 500 or so. That should do it.

In any event since I am experimenting at this point on my own time, flag, and dollar I will stand behind my work personally: If I have to donate a SP20 (same 1.7th) to make things right I'll do that.
169  Other / Meta / Re: TheButterZone Removed From Default Trust on: May 17, 2015, 05:23:51 AM
I think TheButterZone needs to be taken off the default trust list because I think he's a borderline sociopath and has narcissistic personality disorder. I've seen he enjoys having control over other people and is easily angered and wants to make people look stupid to make himself look smarter and I don't think that's someone who's opinion should carry as much weight as it does on the forum. I don't think it's fair that my forum reputation is ruined from a joke I made in a post after I've been a dedicated member for almost two years.  I sent him a message to work it out and never received a response because I think he enjoys being in a higher position than someone to make them look lesser. Theymos implemented the trust system shortly after I messaged him awhile back about the benefits it could have but I don't think giving a non staff member the ability to ruin someone's account because of their personal opinion is very beneficial for the site. I would agree on a few people who truly care about the site like Tomatocage and DannyHamilton and a handful of others, but for other people it allows them to ruin other people's reputations because of their opinions in which I doubt the motives to very often.

See Quickseller for the same reason.

Emailed support.... again.... the same comment "No news".  This gets old real quick.  First there's Hype about it and dates and the it just dwindles from there.  From a PR stand point wouldn't you think at least bi-weekly updates are in order?

Don't hold your breath.
171  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WHAT IS PICISI ? on: May 16, 2015, 05:53:00 PM
3. Armis if you want transparency you should be posting guarantees about WHO YOU ARE running this venture. Being anonymous is not the right move and sends up some pretty large red flags for me personally.

He always ignores this question.  Why does he have the need to be anonymous?  What is he planning that he doesn't want to be identified?  Undecided

Why VOD are you not attacking Quickseller?

He is doing the same thing and holding ESCROW for people. It has been months and never one eyebrow raised? Hmmm interesting. So it is not ok for Armis but ok for Quickseller. Interesting.

If we want to ask the FA to get involved I want to know who we are dealing with so we are not TARNISHED by someone who could have a criminal past. See OregonMines as an example of that trying to hide a conman in their midst. Anyone unwilling to reveal their CV etc is circumspect. Or conversely we in the FA would be comfortable getting involved should he have a wonderful CV and history of such projects in his past. Either way I ask for ID because that is what you want from someone who runs such a program. Be it this or escrow like Quickseller.

173  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S2 Discussion and Support Thread on: May 16, 2015, 01:41:15 PM
How about some news on the S2 Upgrade kits ? Has that plan been abandoned ?

It has been quite some time since news has been posted about that development. Still have an S2 kicking around, collecting dust, because an upgrade path was (still is ?) in-the-works.

Is there not a thread for that? S2 Upgrade Information

Ugg. Everywhere we look ANTIMINER this and that.

No wonder no one can find anything.
174  Other / Meta / Re: Default Trust Visualisation on: May 16, 2015, 12:20:24 PM
I personally think a better reaction would be to exclude them from your trust network and to ignore their future comments.

Have you done that with everyone that has written false things about you?   You haven't left any negative feedback to someone who hasn't scammed?

His negative rep on me is classic lies and libel. Anonymous people running escrow have little or no standing to offer up trust ratings especially when they support proven frauds like dogie. This time Mr. STANFORD and his protégé QS picked the wrong ethical person in me to mess with. I have actually held money for people and can be trusted and like you VOD a wonderfully red trust rating for attacking known fraudsters like dogie, loshia, marto. Dogie and QS are far from ethical spectrum you or I think of. Being wrong is OK in our books not in theirs.
175  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WHAT IS PICISI ? on: May 16, 2015, 11:22:01 AM
1. I see no need to have a charity license for the following reasons. It isn't a charity. You are in the formative stages of development of this collective resource business / commercial entity. Unless VOD has evidence somewhere to the contrary or am I missing something?

2. VOD seems to want to pick out scammers. Why not look directly at Quickseller who is running an anonymous and likely an illegal escrow service internationally. Those sorts of services are most likely well regulated and require people to provide at least BASIC information about who they are to this community. How about we crack on against those who have something to hide. Talk about the potential for abuse and long cons having an ESCROW with no name. If you are so worried why not attack someone currently taking money and doing it anonymously right now and has so for months?

3. Armis if you want transparency you should be posting guarantees about WHO YOU ARE running this venture. Being anonymous is not the right move and sends up some pretty large red flags for me personally.

4. There is no need to BET etc to resolve this issue and challenging people in that way does not build trust at all. BFL Josh favorite tactic to push his con was betting with members of the community to SILENCE THEM PERMANENTLY.

All you need to do is provide a simple short explanation and people can then decide to either support it or not. Put your identity out there with some sort of CV etc so we can measure your worth and value with regards to your proposal. Finally VOD either gives evidence to support his claims this venture requires a charity license. If those conditions are met problem solved and VOD can better spend his time fixing people like Quickseller running potentially long con escrows and find out why Adam Allcock the VAT and Mail Service fraud is backed by Quickseller. That might be a better use of VOD's time and Techshares time.
176  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Technobit "DICE" 160Ghs Entry miner/blockchain personal lottery device on: May 16, 2015, 06:41:26 AM

can you still buy one of these? or not?

have not heard of them lately

if so are they on hand or a pre-order dream or what?

and are they legit?

Buy?

Deliver?

The second one is the problem and why 100s of customers are still waiting on units.

Go to their Bulgarian forum and inquire. Just ask Loshia to show you how to get seemless delivery. It involves kickbacks and lying to this forum. Sure he is their number 1 customer according to Martin. Also note a number of official consumer complaints were filed against technobit in Bulgaria. These remain unresolved. Also the chip black arrow boards for many have yet to be shipped or compensated. Even Adam aka vat fraudster Dogie lowered their rating to untrustworthy.

In a word. No.
177  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BFL fucked us over again (redux) on: May 16, 2015, 06:32:27 AM
Let's hope we see another account come around to complain about being force-fed mile-long images.  Cheesy

GIven the nature of this forum, that request will be granted rather soon lol Smiley

If it detracts and distracts people from understanding the basic fraud and criminal intent of BFL and it's owners, investors and employees then it should be done. Big difference between highlighted text to edify versus walls of cryptic puzzles that include disassociate pictures that are enigmatic at best. Just state the connection and provide the links ala  Xian out Puerto drop the rest. The picture puzzles and cryptic references are wasting space here from a new crop of alt-accounts. We already went down vandetta road once already how about we get some focus in the thread?
178  Other / Meta / Re: Default Trust Visualisation on: May 16, 2015, 03:30:38 AM
Bitcointalk, oh how awesome you are!

Bitcoin philosophy to decentralize monetary concerns and build a trustless system. So what does Bitcointalk do? Makes a centralized trust network and enforces it by default for anyone signing up through the DefaultTrust network.

Not only does Defaulttrust go against everything Bitcoin is built to avoid, but it is a perfect demonstration of WHY it should be avoided, since so many scammers and untrustworthy people have been in DefaultTrust at one time or another and many more will be in the future.

What a load of horseshit.

It's easy to complain.

It's a lot more difficult to come up with something better.

Yes. Yes it is. Solutions?

A sidebar for sidehack's thread  Avalon looks to be making a 5 chip 75gh to 125gh miner.  Not much info other they a software and a wiki page.

Appears to be using the 4.1 chips.  these are nice chips I got as low as .48 watts a gh underclocking them on the avalon 4.1

I wonder if they have been reading this thread  and thought  to build something between the 2 chip design and the larger retro fit- board.

I think our interest here has sparked them a bit.

Take it easy on me Bick.  My point is a small developer like sidehack may be stirring the giants a bit.

Avalon will want to attack any possible market... look at their product development... copycat much. Big difference people will buy Gecko science before Avalon because we want to promote development not kill it as Avalon did last time . The consumers left willing to buy WANT to get or keep the best option that leads to decent pricing. Avalon's are not the rigs we want. Remember the chip sales... never forget it.

Bottom line... who would you spend your bit coins on? The burgers and tshirts have spoken.
