381  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: My Wallet Is Empty. Where is my BTC? on: August 19, 2014, 11:38:52 PM
When you initialize Armory it only creates a certain number of addresses.  As you use the wallet it eventually generates more addresses.  Go in and generate a few hundred more addresses.  then restart and see if the balances show up.
382  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: My Wallet Is Empty. Where is my BTC? on: August 19, 2014, 11:31:22 PM
If you have been using the wallet for awhile you click that link next to "number of addresses" and generate more addresses.
383  Economy / Digital goods / BITCOINS.NET Domain Name on: August 18, 2014, 05:04:55 PM

384  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: new to Bitcoin finding it a bit hard! on: August 12, 2014, 04:26:01 PM
The Armory Wallet sits on top of the mail Bitcoin client and is much more user-friendly as far as backups are concerned.  I would use that and practice restoring a backup before you put any substantial amount of funds in it.  Don't forget that if a flood or fire it may destroy all your local backups so you want one kept remotely.

385  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: TALENT TUESDAY! 0.01 BTC to post your resume on Coinality.com (6 hour promo) on: August 06, 2014, 02:18:59 AM
Got it.  If I also want to post jobs do I need to set up a separate account?
386  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: TALENT TUESDAY! 0.01 BTC to post your resume on Coinality.com (6 hour promo) on: August 05, 2014, 05:34:14 PM
There seems to be a minor bug at https://coinality.com/contact/.  the form does not accept a ".info" domain as a valid e-mail address.  It was accepted as part of the registration process but not on that form.
387  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Need help with bitpay and my website on: August 05, 2014, 03:32:33 PM
I believe BitPay works with http://bitmonet.com/ to do that.  I had set up a page access test one time and it was pretty easy.  I think you can do it with downloads but I am not really sure how it works.

Use a domain spinner that shows available domains based on keywords such as:

389  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Atlantic City Bitcoin Projects on: August 04, 2014, 09:56:43 PM
Atlantic city Bitcoins owns all of these web sites and any kind of arrangement is possible.  It is good to develop them and develop a network of sites.  That way if some do better than others you are not putting your eggs in one basket.
390  Bitcoin / Project Development / Atlantic City Bitcoin Projects on: August 04, 2014, 02:50:57 PM
Atlantic City Bitcoin will be launching a number of projects over the next few months and partnerships are being considered.  Any type of partnership could be considered.  Several top web sites have been acquired and the only way they can be developed is to seek partners.

Atlantic City Bitcoin previously obtained the ruling from FinCEN which was very favorable to US miners:  http://www.coindesk.com/fincen-bitcoin-miners-need-not-register-money-transmitters/

Bitcoin.me - The web site was acquired several months back from some bitcoiners.  A professionally made sequel to the WeUseCoins is just finishing up.  This took about 9 months and a voice-over artist that, ironically, does HSBC commercials in Europe is doing the video.  The video focuses on showing practical situations where Bitcoin can be used more efficiently than current systems.  The site will provide background material more in-depth than what you find now at many other introductory sites.  The video was made by the Brolik agency.  Support issues will be moved to BitHelp.com.

CoinNews.com - This site was acquired from the portfolio of Frank Schilling (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Schilling) and is clearly the best domain for a news site.  One idea is to do something similar to CircleID.com which is a scheme where you have a primary editor and stories from various sources are chosen to be reprinted.  However, nothing is set in stone and ideas will be considered.

BitcoinFood.com - Directory of places to buy food with Bitcoin.  Listings are free.

BitAccess.com, BitBanker.com, BitBounty.com, BitChart.com, BitcoinAccepted.com, BitcoinSec.com, BitFast.com, BitcoinTips.com, BitMusic.com, BitMovies.com, BitTicker.com, BitTools.com, BitTx.com, CoinAlert.com, CoinCert.com, CoinChain.com, CoinContract.com, CoinCup.com, CoinEscrow.com, CoinDNS.com, CoinFast.com, CoinFunding.com, CoinHash.com, CoinInsure.com, CoinMusic.com, CoinKit.com, CoinParties.com, CoinPrivacy.com, CoinProxy.com, CoinReserve.com, CoinSpy.com, CoinSwag.com, Cointracts.com, Coinvertising.com, CoinWear.com, CoinWork.com, ColdWallet.org, Crypto.info, CryptoPrivacy.com, DataPrivacy.com, PrivaCoin.com, RabbitCoin.com, SafeBitcoin.com, SafeBanks.com, USBitcoin.com, WalletDevelopers.com, ...  These web sites are currently undeveloped and looking for partners.

There is not much time to post discussions here so the best thing to do is to contact me directly with ideas/suggestions.
391  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-04] Bitcoin Domain BTC.com Acquired for 1.1 Million USD by Josh Garza on: August 04, 2014, 01:56:28 PM
Damn, I guess registering a lot of bitcoin domains early on is going to pay massive dividends now. I wonder how much bitcoin.com is worth? Anyone know?

I believe bitcoin.com sold in a private sale and the price was not disclosed.  Some domain sales are sold via some sort of auction but most are sold via private sales so there is no way to verify the sale price.

The story about BTC.com originated from an email from the buyer so I don't think this was verified.
392  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whodafuq is dumping BTC?? on: April 10, 2014, 05:54:22 PM
Some people have taxes due April 15 and this is the last chance to sell at Coinbase and have the money by April 15.  Not sure how much effect that has.
393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help For cold storage on: April 04, 2014, 11:17:08 AM
Yes its a good idea. But you should store more copies somewhere else.

Yes, outside of your immediate geographic area should there be some natural disaster in your area.

395  Economy / Goods / Re: Bitcointalk.org shirts for sale. on: February 19, 2014, 03:23:10 PM
Shouldn't it include an ad for mining equipment that will never get delivered, a fake stock exchange, and a promotion for a fake bank that will lose everyone's funds?
396  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] HideMyCoins.com domain name on: February 11, 2014, 06:21:43 AM
HideMyCoins.com - 250 mBTC

Must be transferred to your registrar which means you must pay for the transfer/renewal to a registrar of your choice.
397  Economy / Services / Re: I am a Attorney Representing People in Bitcoin Businesses or w/ BTC Problems on: February 10, 2014, 06:15:01 AM
Attorney advertising where he/she does not provide a name or even the country they are from and requests confidential business info.  Sounds legit.
398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CEO OF BITCOIN EXCHANGE ARRESTED on: February 08, 2014, 09:18:18 PM
The Foundation needs to be dissolved ASAP so legitimate companies can form a reasonable organization.

I don't see any reason why legitimate companies would have to wait for TBF to dissolve before forming a reasonable organization.

Yes, true.  But I think Bitcoin will need more developers because the current team is entrenched within the current system and they control many things such as bitcoin.org.  of course things can move rather quickly if people are motivated to do so.  Hopefully they will arrest a few more people (like Theymos) and maybe that will start to bring some of the other people to their senses.

399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CEO OF BITCOIN EXCHANGE ARRESTED on: February 08, 2014, 04:45:23 PM
Someone actually came up to me and asked me if I heard about "the CEO of Bitcoin" being arrested  Wink lol

I have heard this reported on more then a few occasions.  Just goes to show you how much education we have left to do.  Unfortunately anyone born before 1964 is not going to GET it unless they want to understand.  They have the capability, most just don't have these desire.  And that is who we find in power currently.

It will take another generation to come into power before we will be able to fully realize the full potential of this technology.

I'd say 10 years at the soonest and more likely 20 year for full integration.

This shows the problem with many people involved in the Foundation.  Some of them think everyone else needs to be educated when they don't know much themselves outside of the world of Bitcoin.
400  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] Domain Closeout on: February 08, 2014, 03:48:26 PM
These domains are near deletion but can still be transferred out.  This means you must pay for the transfer at your registrar of choice and transfer the domain right away.  You can often get promo codes to transfer domains cheaply.  The transfer will extend the domains for 1 year.
