1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's a good idea to just register on casino on: January 20, 2023, 09:57:58 PM
It will be too generous for casinos just to give bonuses to all its users including idle accounts. But, there's nothing to lose if you will do it, so not a bad idea at all. Some may offer deposit bonuses or wager bonuses depending on your account activity, so I wouldn't expect much if you will do this kind of trick in different casinos.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you handle your losses on: January 18, 2023, 08:02:14 PM
I only set an amount of money when gambling. This way I can manage risk while gambling. I always have my emotions in check whenever gambling and take several pauses or breaks in between gambling to freshen up and to avoid being greedy. I also set an amount where I will stop gambling once I win an "x" amount. This way I can control my greed. Whenever you I am in a losing streak I never trust my guts that the next round will be a win, I stop briefly. There are a lot of things we can do to handle losses, however, emotion is one of our greatest enemies when gambling. We get carried away, we cannot think straight because of emotion.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Giving bitcoin awareness for easy adoption in my locality on: January 18, 2023, 03:30:54 PM
I really appreciate people who are really eager to educate people regarding cryptocurrency. It's true that it's really difficult to grasp the idea of cryptocurrency at first and even if you've been into crypto for so long it's a continuous learning process. Not everyone has the patience and perseverance to teach newbies about crypto. It will be great if many business owners learn about cryptocurrency and how can it be used in their business. It's true that it's a struggle to transact overseas, but with cryptocurrency, it can be done easier since no third-party is needed.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 10 Biggest U.S Lottery Jackpots Ever...(Until Now) on: January 17, 2023, 07:00:10 PM
The odds in lotteries are very small that's why it has a very high jackpot amount, I doubt if it's possible to win a such jackpot in any online gambling site/ sports betting. Only a few people are lucky enough to hit a jackpot in lotteries and there are over thousands or even millions betting in lotteries.
5  Local / Pilipinas / Re: ang LELE GOLD ay official ng shutdown on: January 17, 2023, 06:36:22 PM
Hindi ako aware sa Lele gold, pero as long as need mo mag refer red flag na talaga yan. Ang daming kumakalat ng mga platforms ngayon at most of them are being promoted by vloggers and influencers.
6  Local / Pilipinas / Re: May Cold Key Card holder ba dito?

7  Economy / Economics / Re: Your way of living the wage what you need to live normal life on: January 16, 2023, 08:06:26 PM
Meanwhile in Philippines, the minimum wage runs around almost $10 or maybe less and those who sit in the government think this is enough considering the price inflation. Not to mention there are still people who get paid lower than the minimum wage. Imagine how these people find ways to earn money just to serve food at their family's table. The government is mostly in favor of companies and investors since they are scared that this might cause them to back out and will leave lesser job opportunities.

9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Could be a bigger challenge when market force is low on: January 15, 2023, 08:09:03 PM
I think you cannot compare Play to earn games with casino games. Casino games have been there and will never go out of phase, we've seen a lot of play-to-earn games that come and go out of the market, once the hype is over it goes rug pull. I think it's not just roulette that keeps the casino running, slot games are more played than roulette in my own opinion.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction touched forum users in a very sad way... on: January 14, 2023, 09:04:41 PM
It's sad that people can ruin everything just because of gambling addiction. I know a lot of collectors and even trust on the forum had been damaged because of this. I can't imagine that even a reputable member can throw away anything just for money and gambling addiction. I just hope everyone will get over this and Yogg will face the consequences of his actions. Keep your money safe everyone and don't get swallowed by gambling addiction. Take this mishap as what gambling addiction can do to anyone.
11  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a side job/business improve your finanical stability ? on: January 14, 2023, 03:01:15 PM
Even if I'm able to save with my full-time job, I still find other means to earn extra. I always have a side hassle just in case I'll have an emergency or I suddenly need extra funds. I think most people do this, especially now we are experiencing an economical crisis. And it's true that it's difficult to find a sustainable stable job where you can earn a decent salary, that's why having one job nowadays won't be enough. Not to mention the crazy surge in basic commodities prices.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Save your environmental economic cycle on: January 14, 2023, 02:45:18 PM
You can't blame people for being practical since it's really cheaper to order anything online nowadays. However, it's true that this affects some merchants since they will have lesser sales. Most online shops offer free shipping, or even offer their goods cheaper since they can get them directly from suppliers or they don't have to pay any rent for their shop. One of the biggest bookstores in our country is starting to close down its branches because of bankruptcy since most people choose to get their school/office supplies online than go to stores.

Quote
I think local shops/sellers should change their sales strategy to compete with online shops and maybe online driving services will help local traders to increase orders for goods delivered to buyers without having to leave the house.

I agree with this, they should start thinking of a way to compete with online sellers by letting people order goods online through their shop and also offer delivery services. This way they can somehow increase their sales or not lose any customers.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How wrongful can this go? on: January 14, 2023, 02:37:11 PM
Most casinos require KYC for regulation purposes, and also for them to avoid any legal obligations just in case you are playing in a country where gambling is restricted. There's no way to avoid KYC if the casino you chose requires it, there are some casinos where KYC is not mandatory but casino owners might require it due to some circumstances. Also falsifying your personal information might cause you a problem in case they ask for further verification. It's either you avoid casinos with KYC or just simply comply with them.

15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is it becoming a thread for casinos refusing paying very huge winnings? on: January 12, 2023, 05:37:39 PM
It's simply that the sites may have some reasons by refusing to pay that woman. This has become a common problem for sure. That's why people who didn't get paid will always try to blow up the case to make sure that will be pushing the sites to pay what they deserve by winning the big reward.
So many problems happened with the various sites started from that. That's why we must be careful with any of gambling sites. that's a lot of money. The sites must try to pay what they can affort to pay it.
I think that this gonna be a long term problem since the winner will not let the site will not pay him. That's why stay away from the casino that was offering non sense reward. They have high chance to not pay.

Resorts World Casino is not an online site it's a real casino. We will never know whether the slot machine is faulty, but one thing is for sure they are making use of their TOS to avoid paying the woman's jackpot money. If in case the machine is malfunctioning will they be refunding all the money they have earned while the machine is faulty? I guess the story will not be the same. I guess this isn't the first time we've heard such a story where gamblers were denied their winnings for several reasons, such as malfunction, fraudulent acts, or cheating.
16  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Negative Perception sa PH Crypto Start-up project on: January 12, 2023, 04:29:06 PM

17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is It good For The Casinos And The Accusers If .. on: January 12, 2023, 04:19:52 PM
Is It Good For The Casinos And The Accusers If the casino operators decided to post a disclaimer that they will not answer accusations here in Bitcointalk but prefer to address them on other platforms that they think are fair and moderated like Askgambler and other platforms?
What's your take on this I don't want to be specific but the question applies to all casino operators.

I'm not seeing any point on avoiding answering accusations here in Bitcointalk since everyone is open to post a scam accusation as long as there's a solid proof. This way casinos can even clear things up and claim their reputation as there are many members here who are active in online casinos. Bitcointalk is one of the best platform to make an announcement and find information about different platforms, cryptocurrency and event. So I think it will be bias if they will only choose platforms that are moderated and will only be one sided.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamer and Crypto Guru Gambles Away Investor Funds on: January 11, 2023, 01:48:51 PM
actually what needs to be learned in playing gambling is how to control yourself and not about winning, that's why many gambling addicts dare to do anything to continue gambling using money from investor assets or their own assets, obviously this is the wrong way because it seems he feels confident that he could turn things around and the money he had lost but instead he spent it all

Just like any addiction, it's hard to stop when you get hooked on anything. Sometimes you make different excuses for yourself to continue what you are doing even though you know it's not good for you or you are going overboard. Self-control is easier said than done, it takes a lot of effort to get away from addiction. Most of the time we are not self-aware that we are starting to get addicted to something till it's too late. I've known a lot of people who haven't gambled till their late age and get addicted to it. Simply saying, gambling was intended to be a source of entertainment however, people find it as a way to earn easy money and end up ruining their life.

20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Woman won $43million but was offered a steak dinner instead of her winnings on: January 10, 2023, 04:57:06 PM
I don't know it could be just a plain excuse that the machine malfunctioned since they had time to make an excuse and use their own TOS to get away with paying the said jackpot. Maybe the woman can file a complaint against the casino or even check if the machine is faulty or not, but who knows what could've they done to the machine after she won since she was asked to return the next day. In case the machine is faulty, everything in their casino should be checked since they will always use this excuse to avoid paying winnings.
