Not too stable lately! yikes. Buying opportunity, yet? I think I want to try buying with cash by mail on localmonero.co Small potatoes.

Moneroni is still the best crypto out there. Even if no one ever comes to post here anymore ... Sad

I miss you guys' thoughts!

Wanting to help with the transaction count  Cheesy, I played the monero pot raffle. And I actually won for July! lol

0.428 XMR is a couple confirmations away from being all mine! HA! Of course, it is one of the lowest payouts since this thing started but oh well.

So yeah, this is a legit fun way to "bet" roughly $2.50 or in my case 0.01596 XMR.

You guys should try it for August. https://moneropot.org/

P.S. Hey Hueristic!

I did see that but didn't have the time to check if its a scam or not.

So its legit or is it centralized and once it gets popular they will pull a chew and screw?

I guess it could one day be an exit scam or even currently a selective scam but for such a small amount it was a chance I was willing to take. But as one data point, it worked for me Smiley

I think you like to play cards. There is a monero poker event you might want to check out. https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/wc35it/monero_poker_night/

I'm not really into poker plus the fact I think monero is ready for a big bounce! Like most of us here agree, it's worth way more than its current valuation/USD amount (though I have been saying that for years now, haha.) Too precious to be gambling with anything more than small amounts.

I know a guy who apparently has hundreds of bitcoins looking to get into monero without raising attention to his old wallet! He's already converted several btc but he wants to exchange much more. I'm not really sure his best course of action...?
You can trade crypto-to-crypto on Bitfinex without kyc.  Your friend will need to use a vpn if he's in the U.S. to make it look like he's not.

Cool. I'll suggest he look into it but if he can wait however long, atomic swap would be a nice option (!). But I have told him his old bitcoin should be nice and "untainted". He wants to buy something big with it, like a house, but not have it tracked back to his old wallet. It's not really my problem, lol, so I haven't researched it very hard.

Especially whales who have been forced to keep funds frozen in their wallet to avoid detection.

That's funny and true. I know a guy who apparently has hundreds of bitcoins looking to get into monero without raising attention to his old wallet! He's already converted several btc but he wants to exchange much more. I'm not really sure his best course of action...?

Since you are trying to send the entire amount in your wallet, use the "Sweep" feature that spends old unmovable amounts. It's on that Send tab in your post (for "unmixable outputs.")

Just getting back around to the wallet.

This is the error I get after tryomg to logi in.

"Couldn't open wallet: basic_string::_M_replace-aux"

Even trying to use the seed doesn't work.

I googled your error message and this response from dEBRUYNE_1 in the monero subreddit could fix your issue. Essentially, backup and/or rename your wallet cache file and it'll rebuild and hopefully fix your problem.

With '0 (in)' you may have your port blocked. That's okay, it'll still work, but you can get more connections if you open it.

I get this in aeond:  2020-05-10 17:40:14.960 [P2P8]  WARN    global  src/p2p/net_node.inl:1339       No incoming connections - check firewalls/routers allow port 11180

But it looks like the port 11180 is open. I checked on canyouseeme.org. I also have UPnP enabled and aeon is listed under the UPnP service list.

After 24 hours uptime, now showing 8(out)+0(in). I am fully synced, though, so it is working, like you said.

Any ideas for me to try? Just want to help the network.

Also, monerod is working fine with many connections in and out.

EDIT: A couple aeond entries in my Windows Defender Firewall Inbound Rules list were blocked. I changed them to "Allow the connection". I am now getting in and out connections!

Have not opened the GUI wallet in a while. On version 0.13.1.0 and it will not open. Does the Aeon-wallet.exe, rpc  and cli need to be ran first and synced before opening the gui?

I also hadn't run the GUI wallet in a few months but just doing it now and it started up no problem (I didn't run anything else, either.)  Still downloading blocks, atm. Perhaps you should restart your computer and try again.

Not making a lot of connections: 3 (out) + 0 (in), so it may be a while before getting all downloaded and synced up.

Let's go whichever winning square is mine!!

Hey phishead! Your post in the speculation thread caught my attention. Looking forward to it. I'll go with the herd on this.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Monero Fantasy Football League 2018 on: August 27, 2018, 04:56:18 PM
No worries. I'm in another league that drafts next week. But it's for lame boring fiat and not those juicy hot moneros.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Monero Fantasy Football League 2018 on: August 27, 2018, 03:42:44 AM
It's a bummer. Would've been happy with an autodraft, too. Too many distractions in my life these days. (But mostly good distractions.)

Edit:
So there are ten teams? Including mine?? I'm tired but I'll pm phishead tomorrow.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Monero Fantasy Football League 2018 on: August 27, 2018, 03:29:15 AM
I done fucked up. I've been too busy and haven't followed the thread. Didn't get invite but also didn't PM phishead about it. My fault. Shit. Enjoy the season dudes.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Monero Fantasy Football League 2018 on: August 17, 2018, 07:23:51 PM
Hey fellow monero-ites,

I'm in and paid: Monero sent successfully: 1 transaction(s) be09dba74bd2996d5ab8b566523d5d8d82e2488dfdd4e5662f6a54e1e5450d78

I put in some actual effort in last year's draft and came in last (was it?). So, I might go the jwinterm route and autodraft this shit, lol. Can't hurt...

Cheers dudes!
