461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $50,000 betting goal by 2024. Share Your Thoughts With Me. on: November 10, 2023, 04:45:54 AM
What are your thoughts on these strategies to assist me in achieving my $50,000 betting goal by 2024?
Since the strategy is based on your own research, I wish you success in achieving your goals.
This is a huge amount of money given the winnable vision I have for gambling games, but I would like to ask a little more about how much you are willing to lose for this goal because this will happen when you make that journey.
I don't really have much of a strategy with gambling, as most of the money I can spend on gambling games is what I'm willing to lose, although I must admit I encounter quite a little luck when playing, but I understand that is not stability. With such a big goal, I think the approach strategy you build needs to reflect the amount of risk you are willing to take.
OP hasn't mentioned the total bankroll amount, only the percentage he'll use for each wager. For a gambler to reach $50k in a year, they must have a reasonable bankroll, in my opinion, probably not less than $20k. I don't know if he can afford to put up that amount, considering the target is a substantial sum. The goal seems quite aggressive, so the betting strategy would need to match that level of aggressiveness.

So now are just hanging on how much he can afford to start as a bankroll, hopefully he'll clarify that.

Be yourself without inventing anything and without overestimating your knowledge if you don’t have any; similar advice has been heard on the forum for a long time. Sincerity, honesty, patience, and genuine interest are all that a beginner needs. Unfortunately, the advice will again become a thing of history, and tomorrow you will see guides from beginners with information that is not entirely correct, or maybe copied, and new topics like: Hello, here I am! Tell me—that is, transfer everything to this topic. There will be a lot of information in the forum. Smiley
You know, even if you know you have a lot to share in the forum, just don't act like you know everything. It's better to stay lowkey and continue to accept and learn from all the significant post from other members. Know that everyone has its unique ideas, so always appreciate everyone's post. And always be mindful of every post you make. It's good to be honest but by being straightforward sometimes, you will end up offending other members especially those who are in the higher rank.

Although there's no rank distinction here as everyone is fair when it comes to expressing your own ideas, but always maintain a healthy relationship with other members because the forum is not made to create competition but to encourage everyone to create an informational and interactive learning.
464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you cope with those around you not believing in you for choosing Bitcoin? on: November 09, 2023, 08:20:19 PM
Pretty much self explanatory.  How do you do it?

Here is my way.  I mostly pushed away and pulled out of relationships with people who seem to stand against my beliefs.  Instead of convincing them I just moved on.  I found that a lot of those who do not believe in my choice of investment and think I will fail are the same people who never listen.  Know it alls who rather put you down and disregard your feelings with no logical reasoning.  Sometimes it feels like they envy you or some thing.

I believe this is a healthy way of handling your environment.  Keep negativity outside your bubble.  Only keep close to you people who give you the ambition and optimism to continue.  Not sure how many of you believe in this.  But manifesting negativity has always brought negative outcome in my life.  Surrounding myself by positive thoughts and positive people has brought a strong source of light all the time.
I keep distance with them. Since they're not the type of people I want to be surrounded with, then it's better to stay away from them and treat them like they don't really exist in my life. Because if I let them enter into my life, for sure there will be a lot of negative criticisms coming from them and that's what I don't really like the most, judging me and my thing just because I have different investment choice compared to them.

People like them are not really healthy to be with. Even if you explain your investment to them, they will always have a lot of negative to say. That's why it's better to get rid of them before I lost my focus to my own bitcoin investment.
465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: For Newbies Interested in Gambling on: November 09, 2023, 01:39:35 PM
Note that the most important thing in gambling is bankroll management and finding value. What messes people up is poor bankroll management.  Personally, I limit my bets to no more than 10 percent of my bankroll per day, I stop once that limit is reached.  Also don't get discouraged if variance comes in and you have a losing day, week, month, etc. Value is value and it will catch up.  Goodluck on your gambling journey.
It's good to be able to set the percentage of money you will spend on gambling. Don't forget to say that the 10 percent of money you limit for gambling is not for the hope of winning because the purpose of gambling is not to seek wealth but to buy pleasure.
Of course, it should be both. Why gamble if you're not looking to have fun and win? It's not going to be an enjoyable experience if you're just wasting your time and money without the possibility of winning, at least in my view.

Ask most gamblers if they're okay with losing and just treating gambling as fun, and I'm sure their answer would be a resounding 'no.'

Focus on the type of game you are good at. For example, you are interested and have expertise in football, cricket or basketball betting analysis games. In my opinion, types of gambling that have a greater percentage of skill, such as the type of sports gambling that I mentioned, are better than types of gambling that have a greater percentage of luck, such as slots.

A better winning percentage translates to a better profit percentage in my book. We might have different preferences when it comes to the types of games we gamble on, but if we have the skill, we can achieve consistent wins in the long run, considering we're not competing against the house edge in sports betting.
466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: November 09, 2023, 12:55:19 PM
What a hot discussion here Grin Do you think we need a rematch? Why not make another poll? Even though Fury won in a split decision, I dont think there should be a rematch. The problem was not because Ngannou is so good and can fight with champions on equal level, but simply because Fury underestimated him. If they would have a rematch I dont think that Fury is going to be so passive and slow. Because in that fight he did not show any footwork and tactics. He was rather straightforward. There were no tricks from him. He was only better at talking before the fight.

He knew he was in for a big fight, and he made $50 million from it. So, how could anyone think he wasn't preparing for that bout like he did for his past fights? I believe Ngannou deserves some respect, especially after he managed to floor Fury. That's a significant sign that Ngannou has the capability to beat Fury.

So, instead of making speculations or excuses about why Fury didn't win convincingly, maybe we should just wait for a rematch. After all, why would Fury say no to another $50 million or possibly even more?
467  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What Reward for a Trading Mentor on: November 08, 2023, 09:47:01 PM
I don't see any wrong with mentors, as long as they are teaching you right and if it's free then it's good if not then you must agree with the fees you are paying and that's enough, it depends on what you discussed or agreed.
Just make sure you are talking with a legit trading mentor. And make sure try to apply your lessons with your mentor in real trading environment.
The challenge if you hire a mentor is that you are not sure if what you get is actually a legit and a professional mentor. You know its easy to claim that you know trading well and that you are making good profits from it, but in reality you are just like any other traders that keep on losing the market. That is the reason why we don't need to trust those trading mentors easily especially if they require higher fees. We need to check their background first if they have been really into trading for several years.

And if you're lucky to have been mentored by a professional trader, then make sure that what you learned are the ones you applied in real trading. Because its undeniable that when we get to trade at live trading, we easily forget what we have learned and just focus on trading using what we think could work in our trades. That is why constant practice and experience in trading is crucial because that's the only way we can improve our trading skills and strategies.
468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not perfect, and that's okay. on: November 08, 2023, 08:37:52 PM
The advantage of bitcoin is higher than the disadvantage and whatever that can be used for exchange of goods and services will always be used for illicit activities. Bitcoin is not the first and it will never be the last that, because both the good, bad must render services and buy goods.

I am happy that the government have come to understand that bitcoin is not the cause of illicit activities but the people that engage themselves in such activities, and the government should go for those people. Bitcoin volatile nature and its decentralized nature has made it tough for government to understand, and that was why they were against it initially, but after some government saw the potential in bitcoin, they decided to embrace it.
Bitcoin has its own flaws that makes its disadvantages but we can only say that because we always compare bitcoin to fiat. And anything that bitcoin lacks wherein fiat has it already is considered its disadvantages. We fail to realize that bitcoin is different from fiat in nature. So we don't need to compare it from fiat because if we analyze it closely, bitcoin is way more useful and helpful for the people not just in the form of a good currency but a good and profitable investment as well.

However, it's a good thing that the people have become more open-minded these days and they come to understand bitcoin more than fiat. But I must say when it comes to the government, I can still see that they are still doubtful with bitcoin. They have always believed and came to protect fiat from whatever its anomalies being involved, but they can never accept bitcoin because they have always treated it to be a threat to their own government and to their own fiat currency.
469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: November 08, 2023, 04:02:54 PM
Let's resume betting after 1 day of break.

Clippers will be tested again against the Nets this time who is currently 0-3 at home ,haven't won a hope game yet so this is quite very unpredictable as the Clippers will likely play harder this time too since they are already in a losing streak.

Both teams have 2 straight losses but I like to bet to see Harden finally get a win, so I'm putting my bet on the road team which is favored by -4.5

Also betting on Spurs moneyline @4.80.  Grin
470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 08, 2023, 02:58:45 PM
Clippers at +1200 now to win a championship, I think this is a good steal.

https://www.vegasinsider.com/nba/odds/futures/

That's pretty attractive if you'll ask me.

I am now confirming it with my bookie but unfortunately I could not see the odds available it, I guess I just have to check back later.

The Knicks and Clippers were trading punches in the first three quarters but the home team kicked into another gear early in the fourth which set the tone for the rest of the game. Those five steals in the final quarter alone made a huge difference.

I think coach Lue did okay with his team's rotation despite the loss. How did you see Harden's debut?

He did good I believe. But I think coach Lue needs to revamp the line up, putting all 4 in the starting line up may not be good for the team as they lack sized against the Knicks, which is pretty evident by the rebounding disparity... 48 vs 31 only for the Clippers, that's not competitive.

I don't know whom they'll put on the 2nd unit but I like to see one of them take charge the 2nd unit, maybe Harden?
471  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First buy Bitcoin as a newbie, good way to start. on: November 07, 2023, 09:53:59 PM
I also have different mindset when it comes to investment. I don't easily jump into risking my money and just invest on whatever my choice. I need to make an in-depth research first if this investment is a secure one and if it will be a good choice that will give me sustainable profits in the future. I need to secure my funds as well because as much as possible, I don't want to risk my lifetime savings but will always chose to spend my spare money so that If I lose, I won't have to deal on its consequences after. And lastly, I don't dare to invest if there are no reliable feedbacks from other bitcoin investors, as that is also one way of extending my research.
472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 07, 2023, 12:51:21 PM
So far, no odds yet even though its less than 20 hours to go before the game.

There are no odds available for this particular game yet, but for the other game, Meralco vs. ROS, the odds have already been released.

For the point spread: -3.5 Meralco
For the total: 197.5

In my view, I'm going to bet on Meralco, as I favor them being a defensive team. Although it's not easy to predict this early on which team will play impressively, I'm going to trust my gut feeling. Meralco is known for being a good team with solid chemistry, and Chris Newsome is surely very confident after winning a gold medal and playing excellent defense against RHJ.

Just a quick update, odds for the first game are already out just now.

Blackwater is +7.5
Total is 201.5
473  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading can ruin you on: November 04, 2023, 07:54:01 PM
Trading is most times profitable and sometimes challenging to traders, but it can ruin you just as gambling if you don't know how before venturing into it,  I have had a handful of terrible experience while trading and I discovered that it can return you to square one in terms of your finances if precautions is not taken.

Though am a better trader now, but I still thred with caution,  the best way for newbie to navigate their way in the market is to buy and hold, then sell when the price goes up.
When it comes to future market, newbie should stay off because it's for experience traders, even if you run a poll of people to tell of their experience in trading in this forum, %80 of people will rule out trading as a no go area based on their terrible experience while trading.

So newbie, stay of trading futures if you know nothing about technical analysis or fundamental analysis for not to be ruined.
Thank GOD you know this yourself that trading can be destructive as well as productive as it can be. Trading sometimes is done by naive people that feels you can just make millions overnight through this act but they don't know trading is something we actually need to play about and it takes year of study to actually fully understand the whole ethics and principle techniques behind trading successfully.
That is the reality about trading. It can give you the most satisfying profits, yet it can also make you homeless in an instant if you see trading as a get rich quick. Traders with greedy mindset are actually not exposed about how and when trading works, since all they believe that once they decide to trade, even without trading skills and working strategies, they will eventually win their trades and become instantly profitable. But we all know trading is not easy and could be very hard most especially for those who really don't know how to trade. In the end, what you will gain are obviously countless losses, not remarkable profits.
474  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't look for investment, just hodle! on: November 04, 2023, 02:58:34 PM
To avoid all this,  it become paramount to only abide by one rules which is to keep Bitcoin in your wallet and stop looking for investment that are centralized to reduce your risk.
That's how it should be to lessen the risk of losing our money. But this basic rule is hard to follow for many of us because often they're looking for quick profit that they can't achieve if they chose Bitcoin. Some newbies engage themselves in crypto not because they became aware of Bitcoin but because of the hype of a certain coin, believing it will go to the moon due to the effective promotion of influencers.

Well, it's wise to diversify but make sure that you have knowledge of what you're doing and not just guessing if the specific project will give you profit in the future. Investing and holding Bitcoin is ideal for people who are not in hurry to profit and can wait longer. Because it's less stressful if you just hold though it requires patience.
Hodling bitcoin might be less risky compared to investing in unreliable centralized projects but it takes a lot of patience and faith in bitcoin for you to be able to hold bitcoin for long term without struggling from panic selling whenever bitcoin price drops so deeply. That is why even if hodling sounded so easy, a lot of bitcoin investors still end up quitting and decide to sell their coins early because they can’t stand the price volatility in the market.

However, bitcoin hodling is still the safest crypto investment in the market and the rate to succeed is still very high. It may not give you the quick profits that you desire but the long term profits you will get from hodling bitcoin is still very satisfying because of its very high value.
475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how secure are your telling fellow wo/man about this forum and bitcoin on: November 04, 2023, 01:59:49 PM
I don’t see anything wrong if you open about the bitcointalk forum and bitcoin. It’s one way of promoting about bitcoin that it’s a real legit and not a big scam. However, you don’t have to share with her that you are hodling or trading bitcoin at the moment because that is already disclosing your privacy. You are putting your own self in danger since this friend of yours might not be actually looking for a business or investment but she’s looking for someone to scam. And you are giving her a hint to be her new prospect.

It’s still best if you keep things on your own most especially if money is involved. Also, bitcoin investment should only serve as a side hustle, not a stable source of income. Tell her to find a real job instead so that she can provide her needs and wants on her own, and not to rely in bitcoin or in the forum since its never a real job in the first place.
476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: November 04, 2023, 01:18:15 PM
Added to the undercard is Ohara Davies vs. Ismael Barroso.

I think I'll check out these boxers first because I'm not familiar with them. What I really want to see is the main event, as I'm looking forward to watching Ryan Garcia's comeback after his loss against Tank Davis. I'm sure he's had enough time to think and will be more motivated to train since he's experienced a loss. He's no longer undefeated, so it's like he's starting from scratch to prove himself to the world.

You should take a look at these boxers, especially Ohara Davies, who hasn't lost a fight since 2018. I believe he can easily defeat Ismael Barroso from Venezuela because Barroso is already quite old at 40 years, nearing retirement age.

However, in case he loses, I guess that defeat against Davis might have really affected his confidence. The mental aspect could become a topic of discussion, maybe even an excuse.
Every boxer tends to have their reasons when they lose a fight. If Ryan Garcia didn't make excuses after his loss to Tank Davis, I doubt he'll come up with that kind of excuse now. The boxing community would probably not take it well if he can't accept defeat.

Looking at Oscar Duarte Jurado's record, it's quite impressive. He's known for knocking out his opponents, and that makes him a dangerous opponent for Garcia, especially considering that Garcia has been knocked out before.
477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 04, 2023, 12:38:41 PM
So, the opening games would be tomorrow with Magnolia and TNT battling in the first game while Blackwater and Converge will fight it out in the second game.

No odds yet but I think it would be Magnolia and Converge will be the favorite in these games.

But according to their website (https://pba.ph/), there's only one game scheduled for tomorrow. Converge and Bossing are scheduled to play on November 8, 2023, which is a Wednesday, not a Sunday.

Now, regarding the betting odds for the game tomorrow, they should be available tonight or maybe a bit later. If the odds show TNT as the underdog, it might mean that RHJ won't be playing. You see, PBA doesn't provide updates as regularly as the NBA, so we have to pay attention to the betting odds.

It seems like we only have one game tomorrow because there's only one game with available betting odds at the moment. The odds are already out, and Magnolia is favored by -4.5 points. This suggests that the import might not play. I think it's a good idea to place that bet early because I have a feeling that the spread might go up.

I'm placing my bet early because Magnolia is a strong defensive team. Think about it, TNT won't have their import, and they're missing key players like Pogoy and Mikey Williams. How can they compete against a healthy Magnolia Hotshots team that's great at playing defense? I'm also betting on the under because I believe TNT will have a tough time scoring in this game.

The over/under is 196.5.
478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 04, 2023, 09:26:11 AM
By the way, Lillard had a good game after a bad one. He scored 30 points and led the Bucks to beat the visiting Knicks.

He's been very inconsistent. Maybe in the next game, he'll score fewer than 10 points.

Here are his points per game (PPG) in his last 5 games:

1st game against 76ers: 39 points
2nd game against Hawks: 6 points
3rd game against Miami: 25 points
4th game against Raptors: 15 points
5th game against Knicks: 30 points

He should aim for at least 20 points per game so we can have confidence that this team will be a strong contender in the playoffs. In the next game against the Nets, it's a good challenge on the road because the Nets are currently on a 3-game winning streak.
479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 04, 2023, 08:51:35 AM
If converge is really aiming for the ring, they have the chemistry already and they are showing good numbers last season, they just need additional role players and good import who can guide and lead them to win the game.

They were winning games last season and had a good import, but there were coaching decisions that their import didn't follow as it seemed like he had to carry the team on his own and not sharing the ball much. This resulted in them missing the chance to make it to the quarterfinals. I'm not sure who their import is now, but losing Ahanmisi and Jeron Teng is certainly a significant setback for the team.

The new season is set to open tomorrow, so if you want to check out early odds, you should come back tonight. The season opener is between TNT and Magnolia, but it looks like TNT won't have an import for tomorrow's game.
480  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin In Bullish or Bearish Trend? on: November 03, 2023, 09:50:08 PM
Since bitcoin is performing very well in the market, I am convinced to say that its price is certainly more bullish compared to its previous market price. And I think the fake approval of bitcoin ETH has helped it to be where its currently positioned right now. But definitely, when this ETF will be finally approved, expect that there will be more price surge for bitcoin.

However, I can't also tell that the bearish days for bitcoin are now gone. As long as the market is highly volatile, there will always be chances to see bitcoin price dropping again, but that's just to prepare us for it's new all time high adventure.
