141  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: The halving is coming. What's your next move? on: April 05, 2016, 02:32:34 AM
Keep my S5's running until no longer profitable. Got one of the S5's already mining peercoin. It's not worth much, but it mines a block pretty quick. Plan on throwing all 5 on there and then just trade Peercoin to BTC after I have enough.
142  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: The halving is coming. What's your next move? on: March 09, 2016, 06:49:47 AM
Sell some of my miners, take the "profit" and invest in Bitcoin itself.

I'm not running a huge farm, so I'm more than likely going to cut my losses prior to the Havlening. Won't sell off my miners until a few weeks after the Halving, just to see how much more difficult things get.
143  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What are miners doing with their profits? on: March 09, 2016, 06:12:52 AM
Right now, with the BTCitcoin I get from mining it usually goes towards gas, food, goods, you name it. Right now I'm slowly saving up for the new Bitfury miner and I'll hopefully have coin for one when it is released, if not after release hopefully some one will sell them online for a few coins less.

But most of my bitcoin I used to just trade, buy low, sell high. Stuff like that. Try and make a few more bits in between dumps and pumps
144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do people around you think about Bitcoin ? on: March 09, 2016, 05:54:32 AM
I got my friends hooked on mining and trading bitcoin a while ago. My parents are slowly understanding Bitcoin. My brothers have both bought into Bitcoin themselves, and started doing small time farm mining.

I joined in on the Bitcoin train back in 2011 as a little investor who bought a couple bitcoin not knowing of what was going on back then. After around 2013 I really started to learn about the Bitcoin network, mining, the blockchain, trading, etc.

I'm addicted to Bitcoin. I wouldn't say I've lost money, but I'm not saying I've gained anything. More than anything it's a fun "game" and great community to participate with. My friends and family as of recently have started supporting me and backing me up on my choice of investments with Bitcoin.

How much would shipping cost to Indiana?
146  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] Bitmain Antminer S3+ PLUS 453 GH/s asic bitcoin miner on: March 07, 2016, 01:06:44 AM
I've had this guy running for the past year 24/7 and never overclocked. I'm getting ready to move to a new apartment and I'm trying to get rid of as much stuff as I can before the move.

If anyone wants to negotiate a price leave a comment or drop me a PM.

I'm selling it over on Bitify https://bitify.com/auctions/crypto-mining-asic/bitmain-antminer-s3-plus-453-ghs-asic-bitcoin-miner-263383/?liveconfirm=1
147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Roundtable Thoughts - Gavin Andresen on: March 07, 2016, 12:43:53 AM
Blockstream is engineering a problem by keeping the blocksize small in order to force their off-chain "solutions" onto everybody, all for their eventual profit.

It is a greedy and overall highly disgusting tactic on their part.

Bravo Gavin for standing up against this madness.

Yeah, let Coinbase governance us. The company that is actually making money as we speak. Blockstream isn't making any money and they already have agreed to a HF NEXT FUCKING YEAR! Let me repeat that: They aren't making any money right now and I can make a bet that they will not be making any money next year either! How would you agree to give the bitcoin governance towards a for-profit company with ZERO technical skills??? I don't get it!

With the way Core is headed and the way the devs are acting, Bitcoin is headed more and more towards a centralized governance. Classic is what we need and that 2MB limit is what we(miners) need even more
148  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people keep saying BTC is dead?! on: March 07, 2016, 12:17:30 AM
The fact that I have a VISA card that has all my Bitcoin on it and I can use it anywhere....I don't think Bitcoin is going anywhere any time soon. Only thing I see that is dead is cash.

I'm going to bookmark this page. Right now I'm selling off my 2 S3's and I'm going to buy an S5 once I move into my new apartment here March 25th. Would you be ok with that? I currently live in Indiana, but I'm getting ready to move out to Orlando Florida. With a price that low for an S5, it beats an eBay dealer for sure!

Oh anything here beats ebay! Yeah I'm fine with it, just remember to add in the shipping costs to your profit equations. If you have free power then it doesn't really matter much. I'd figure shipping to Florida should be $30 to $40 CAD.

Still that beats the price for a S5 on eBay alone not including shipping. I think the cheapest one I could find was something like $229 USD

Does anyone want a S5? My electric costs are about equal to earnings, making it hard to continue...
Whats it worth?

If you're willing to work out a price, I'll gladly buy it off of you. PM me if you're still selling.
156  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Miner X5 on BitFury 16nm chips on: February 27, 2016, 12:26:24 AM
I for one am extremely excited to see what Bitfury has to offer here in the coming few weeks. But I'm probably not going to buy until I see how profitable they become as July starts to crawl closer.
