1  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 249 blocks solved! on: June 07, 2018, 12:17:48 PM
thanks guys...
so how do know if like i do find block i have everything in place to receive benefit??

also
in dos window as i stated up above- i saw line that said found block at height xxxx.

is that not having found a block??

man i wish i took ss...but the scrolling had gone past it by time i saw it

so instead of trying luck, and wanted to get at least something....i could go to prohash and mine sha256 and get paid in NYC Huh

Your best share must exceed the current difficulty which is 4,940,704,885,521.83, so you can see you are no where near that.  Your 6 million share is far, far away for the 5 trillion share required.

Also the btc will go directly into your wallet.

Thanks guys,
so why should we mine solo if the the outcome is the same with pool mining? Only because there is a theoratical chance of finding 2 blocks in same period?
GLTA anyhow.
Sam

No one should have to convince you to solo mine.....  if you have to ask why should you solo mine instead of a pool, you haven't done your research and reading to understand the differences between the two.  With Solo mining you could find a block in a week, or never.

Mining in a pool is like saving your money in a bank account....  solo mining is like taking that money and going to the casino to make 10 times that..... greater risk, greater payout or nothing....  if you like to gamble try solo for a couple of weeks.... if your conservative... stay with the pool.

Hi folks,
one question:
We have 520THs running with S9 antminers. Actually all mining in antpool.
Would you either mine in a pool or does it make sense to try solo mining here? How big is really the chance to catch a block - is there any simple math calculation available?
thanks,
Sam

(Roughly)

If you were lucky, and difficulty didn't change (which it will) you could expect to find a block with 500TH every 428.20 Days

Or you could expect to find 12.5 BTC in around the same amount of time mining in a pool.

Of course if you were really lucky you could find more than one block solo mining in the same amount of time.

Or if your really, really, really lucky you could find a block in the next hour.  A block can be found at any time.

yes it's just a gpu I thought of as a lottery.
I understood it was pretty much black and white in solo mining, either accepted or rejected...
I thought difficulty was irrelevant to solo, and naturally that accepted could only mean "it has found the one and only solution".
I'm reading but my mind is still very much in the fog on share/network difficulty, I don't completely grasp it...

Your miner can accept billions of shares, if none of those shares exceed the current value of 4,143,878,474,754, you did not find a block.  The value rises every 2 weeks

recently pointed some of my older cards at this solo pool, figured it would be more fun than watching a 200W GPU make $00.02 a day. However I am not able to monitor my stats. I go to http://solo.ckpool.org/users/3L6o9aXs4fWtaUaFArYiXYG1TmVisDTDXM and I just get a 404.

Any help would be appreciated, id hate to think i made a mistake and haven't actually been mining for the last week.

Your mining with gpu cards?   those are not accepted on this pool.

Hey guys, i am pretty new to the whole bitcoin/crypto stuff and learned alot last week ;-) I mined for 24 hours with an S3+ (of course without solving a block).

What do you think, now that the bitcoin <-> money exchange rate is falling, will there be a time any soon, when those big miners stop their work, so that the chances to find a block with smaller/older hardware will get into a realistic range? Or will mining with, lets say 1Th/s, stay at more or less zero chances?

Anyways, good luck all solo miners ;-)

Not much will change, the price will climb back up.... people won't shut down their miners knowing the price will increase at some point, just like the stock market.  I checked btc.com and its estimated to still jump 15 percent in difficulty in 8 days.

Doesn't matter what you mine with, there is always a chance of finding the block.   It was only a few months ago that a S5 found a large block on the pool here with over 17 bitcoin.   So keep on mining.   People win the lottery all the time when they only buy one ticket...

So, does it means that if I dont find a block, I dont get any payout for the blocks that I didn't find but I helped to mine?  That's utterly BS. Smiley Ckpool owner is getting rich..

Before you make those types of comments, do your research and understand what you are doing.   With your limited hashrate, it will take forever to reach the minimum payout level at any pool.  I have a antminer S5 and its not worth running at a regular pool....

Bitcoinwisdom projected a slight drop just before the change, then the massive jump in difficulty....  so the estimated next difficulty is pretty much useless.   Its never right on, but it wasn't even close

Nope Miners numbers are all over the place, I have 2 separate miners in 2 different cities with different addresses.  Both are wonky

Main pool having issues?

Getting readings all over the board on R4 miner,  showing dead on my S3.

Considering the block was found on the 20th, is that really considered late in the month....  if so then early would be 1-10 and late 20-30/31st..... that covers 2/3 of the month, so odds are its going to be found in that portion..
14  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ANN] solo.ckpool.org 0.5% fee anonymous solo bitcoin mining for everyone on: June 27, 2017, 10:01:45 PM
I'm currently mining solo.ckpool.org:3333 with user 14cC6urXAXLMNaeCpQY5B8TFsgu2GkXUPM @166GH/s / 1d  But is it only waste of time if i can't confirm that i'm mining to my own address?
The argument could be made quite easily that it is a waste of time regardless mining at that hash rate.

You can verify you are hashing at http://solo.ckpool.org/users/14cC6urXAXLMNaeCpQY5B8TFsgu2GkXUPM.

And yet the last block was found with a S5 and everyone thought that was a waste of time, except for the guy who got 17 BTC.....   every hash is a chance...

...If you have a higher end Nvidia then ZCash....
To go even further off-topic: Folding is pretty good these days with those. Had a net of over $365 ($12+ per day) per 1080 GTX last month with folding.

Where are you folding at.... I know there is folding@home...  but thats volunteer work.

Look at the Claymore miners, and look in the ALT coin section.  Your setup is just a waste of electric on bitcoin.  Maybe ZCash or something like there.  Also look at Cryptonight algo coins.

Mine for Ethereum if you have a AMD 470/570 or 480/580.   If you have a higher end Nvidia then ZCash....   Extremely profitable at the moment.   the 470s are producing over 4 dollars a day per card on Ethereum.   Google how to mine on the net, way to long to even begin to explain it here.   I am running 3 x 470s and one Nvidia on those coins.  Very good returns...

thanks for your help guys.. so in short i wont have any chance for the lottery.. maybe after i get my other s9, i will go back to so.ckpool Smiley

You could always take your current S9 and put it on the pool for a few hours a day, or 1 day out of the week.   This will give you a chance at finding a block.

i cant even interpret how much my gpu's hashrate is... all i see in the guiminer is that it is running 1.0 Gh/s

What GPU are you getting 1Ghs out of?  I think Guiminer is incorrect.

If you want to mine with a low hash rate get few USB block Erupters.
my ASUS ROG STRIX gtx 1070 bro

Your wasting your 1070 (400 dollar) card... either buy a USB miner, or get a S3 for cheap.

Well with a 16.64% increase in difficulty and another 15% or so that might be coming in the next jump, solo mining is getting to be ridiculous odds......   never the less I will run my little S5 at half rate, just for fun.....
