1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CureCoin 2.0 is live - Mandatory Update is available now - DEC 2018 on: December 22, 2018, 05:37:34 AM
Curecoin 2.0 is live!!!

The fork was just completed a couple hours ago. New clients are coming online and staking away with the increased stake reward of 4% vs the old reward of 1%.

Block time has been reduced to 4 minutes from 10 minutes (traditional BTC time).

Minimum Stake Age is now 4 days vs 30 days

ASIC POW has been removed, leaving the bulk of electricity used for curecoin dedicated to protein simulations via the folding@home project out of Stanford University.

Windows client available here https://github.com/cygnusxi/CurecoinSource/releases/tag/v2.0.0.1

Mac OSX client and a .deb linux installer will be posted asap. Linux compiling instructions are in the github readme.

https://github.com/cygnusxi/CurecoinSource

OP will be updated asap to reflect the new features and removal of the old.

Quick report on the rank one takeover on folding@home. Curecoin is still crushing the scoreboards of folding@home and gaining on team EVGA fast. Current estimate puts Curecoin 6 days away from the overtake to rank 1.  Grin

I worked with my team on 4 main tasks over the last month to release at the time of the takeover. 3 of 4 items are mostly complete and will be ready so far, plus a few bonus items are popping up.
There will be a report to cover some extensive progress on the cloud folding systems. Ivan has built a large 7 motherboard rack that will sponsor other areas of research by donating the resulting earned CURE + FLDC to charities. The cloud store for speculators has mad some improvements over time as well and will be a part of those reports.
The press releases are very close to done on the first one. The team edited the draft proposed today in a weekly meeting. This should be out in about 1 week or less. (right around the time of the rank 1 over take)
A few user friendly requests have been pushed to the github and binaries will be posted soon. It sounds like the staking estimator may also be done in a week to add to the user friendly additions to the wallet that were recently focused on.
The 4th unclear item is new videos from an experienced youtube publisher. We might not have those finished by the end of the week which was the goal for these 4 items. We will follow through either way and will get them done.

Check out social shares like this
https://twitter.com/CureCoin_Team/status/900546900801200129

Chances to win video games will be popping up along with a chance for folders to win a Nvidia GPU.  Cool

There is a strategic partnership that continues between CURE and FLDC members. A new partnership with Evergreencoin (EGC) will aid greatly in developer resources and we also plan to combine efforts on some of the charitable giving the Curecoin team much like EGC has been doing for some time now.

Lots of other ideas in the pipeline like always.

A few last notes :Advertising efforts are already underway since establishing rank #1 makes a solid point on the research based pow concept. A good portion of what is needed to expand to GPU-Grid projects is ready as well and aiming for an alpha test run by the end of the year, Curecoin Developers will donate to the alpha test to reward users for GPU-Grid to collect benchmarks and feedback.

use java 8 , start the daemon, then client , then optionally the miner (this is a testnet - cpu only) and choose an amount of cores. This is using a fixed difficulty until the certificate system can replace it.

According to extremeoverclocking today we have just overtaken the Default "team"!  Cool

Right now Curecoin team is delivering 38.8% of 24h average total PPD, which is as much as the next 21 best teams together Smiley
Also 60% of TOP10 Folders are from Curecoin team.
And 55% of TOP100 Folders.

In about one month we should be #1!!!

Cool, actually curecoin has over 700 million points per day, which is huge compared to other team. Should be able to overtake evga and become number ONE soon as you mentioned Smiley

I have rallied the team over the last week and we are working on updates to release in time for the rank 1 overtake and we will also be holding some giveaways and games to celebrate. Rank 1 is the last time we get to celebrate crushing the competition so we intend to take full advantage.

Updates to look for in the next 3-4 weeks::
2 Press releases
Update to the Curecoin wallet
Youtube videos made by an experience vlogger to help newcomer fold and use their CURE tokens
Articles featuring both the commercial folding cloud (Detroit) and the non profit folding cloud (Denver) systems.

From a post on the curecoin forum:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Times are changing in this internet ultra connected world, where everybody wants everything and wants it now.

Wire transfer and card payment, once regarded as innovative and reliable payment methods, are now slow and take up days to complete, and there is always the risk of fraud or identity theft.

We, at BelCloud Hosting Corporation, are a big fan of cryptocurrencies and we have been behind this movement from the start.

With instant, secure, anonymous and permanent transfers, they represent next-generation payments and maybe the currencies of the future.

Because we want cryptocurrencies to grow and become a bigger part of what people use on the internet to make payments, we are now accepting 30 new cryptocurrencies on all our websites.

You can now use CureCoin directly to purchase dedicated and hybrid servers, shared web hosting and VPS.

Because we believe in CureCoin, we are now offering a promotion for the following month:

Every product bought using CureCoin will get 50% discount for the first month if purchased until 20 July 2017. Just contact our support team through live-chat/ticket or e-mail with the link to this page and ask for the discount before you order. That’s all!

Our products are listed on the following websites:

Host.AG – Dedicated Servers and Complex Hosting Solutions

VPS.ag – VPS and Containers starting at 2 EURO per month

TrueHoster.com – Unlimited Web Hosting Solutions at 12 EURO per year.

Best regards,

BelCloud Hosting Corporation

OK, I'm tired of looking.....
Is there a page where one can get team PPD that isn't tucked behind some shitty cloudflare crap? It's kind of difficult to do any calc dev when you can't get stats to calc.  Undecided

http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_summary.php?s=&t=224497

Won't match up on a day-by-day basis with cryptobullions as the data isn't pulled at the same time, but long-term it matches up well enough, and it's good enough for "calculation" with.
Yeah, I tried that but the nested tables make for a laggy scrape.  Sad

My hope is to do something that is "modern" and gives people the option to calc with/without average increase/decrease of team points, static based on current, static based on 7 or 14 day average, etc.

Try this page http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/xml/team_summary.php?t=224497

XML format and easy to use. Todd aka "east-wrest" from the Curecoin team and a member of Foldingcoin are looking to build something similar if you want to talk to them about it. They do have some policies about not over using their stats but it also only updates once every 3 hours so probably not an issue if you ping it at that interval.

Make sure to update to the latest version of the Curecoin wallet to keep your coins safe and the network secure! Windows and Mac clients are executable's can be found here https://github.com/cygnusxi/CurecoinSource/releases/tag/v1.9.2.1 . If using linux the instructions for compiling are very easy to follow here https://github.com/cygnusxi/CurecoinSource

New Curecoin client out v1.9.2.1, binaries for Win and Mac here https://github.com/cygnusxi/CurecoinSource/releases/tag/v1.9.2.1

To address some concerns about development, we will be posting more blog and video material going forward to show everyone that we are indeed keeping busy even though there has admittedly been a lack of easy to find public updates on this work. The team puts in a very large amount of hours every week, with many people wanting to join the core to team help. We are settling into a better organization system to handle the increased team size and plan to expand beyond that very soon. There is currently 10 members on the core team.

Check out the folding production that is coming out of team Curecoin also, we keep topping the all time high, currently at an astonishing 350 million PPD for research speed, and the coin price today has been hitting 18 cents per coin which is also an all time high. The public channels such as the slack and google hangouts have been keeping busy as well with lots of people talking about plans to upgrade / expand folding rigs to increase research output and gain more coins.

The recent client update focuses on both network security and functionality. There was also some tweaks to the gui to clean it up and make it show a little more info on the main tab. Blockchain sync times should be faster especially from a fresh sync. We also added for now an updated alert key to alert the Curecoin users of the upcoming mandatory updates that we need to release to get closer to 2.0 version launch.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]CureCoin - Protein Folding Research based Proof of Work on: May 25, 2017, 09:42:20 AM
So Ive spent the last month figuring out the strengths of the 4 new core curecoin members and we are ready to hit the ground running. It slowed me down a bit trying to get a few people up to speed and there is still a bit of work to be done. Like C-Genie its fine to have a little knowledge until you want to actually do something in crypto space. There is no replacement for knowing the core of cryptocurrency.

There is an updated version of curecoin on github. Feel free to compile the latest version for yourself if you dont want to wait for the new compiled versions.

To that note, Ive noticed a lot of shit coins adding viruses to their compiled clients ( and sometimes even on their githubs ) that people tend to glaze over.  If you dont trust something dont stop to think that just running it in a VM will save you.

Obviously I am bias to curecoin as a big contender because I know what my plans are and my determination to see it through. I do have other coins I hold and of course I compile them from source.

I will be spending even less time posting here but that is from having a group of new team members that will be doing this for me. They will be getting their final briefing this week. I hope to get back to just working on the code like I much prefer over being a community "cheerleader".

If you have not read it already - Team Curecoin is smashing the record for computational research speeds. Coin price is at all time high and looking bullish. Normally I would give more talk when stopping here about whats happening in our game plans. Right now my big game plan for any free time outside of development plans is to get more rigs to fold with ASAP  Cheesy

Cheers

...This is not to say the work done by the miners is useless....
If you will not, then I will. The devs designed the difficulty in such a way that every block, POS or POW, punishes miners with a higher difficulty which never decreases until a POW block is found (but, as I said, does increase for every POS block found). Every block found in the last 92 hours 31 minutes has added to the POW difficulty while the POS difficulty is less than it was 100 blocks ago. The devs intended miners to be useless (despite what the OP says about 80:20).  Undecided

...Whether you are heavily-invested in ASIC equipment or still have GPUs and CPUs, you can participate.....
That you can "participate" with ASICs is true, just don't expect 100TH/s of ASICs to get paid enough to cover the electric costs of a CPU.   Roll Eyes

nice you can indeed read the block explorer...

Fact is the numbers are doing what they do but NOT for the reasons you state, you are simply making a (half educated - better than not at all) assumption.

We all know curecoin 2.0 has been a long time in the making. I feel like even if you had been talking directly to the developers the whole time you still might not fully "get it"

You should troll harder with facts, your rants just make you look like a fool to anyone who has a clue. Youre kinda like a 2nd grader saying "my big brother can lift 10 cars at once and will beat you up"

If you were properly invested in asic mining you would mine BTC mainly anyways, and have a script set up like most do to mine (random)coin when the difficulty is prime for your asics.

I feel like I wasted 5 minutes writing this. Thanks for wasting everyone's time. Let me know if you ever get around to learning how a pow pos hybrid coin works. They are mostly all the same with various tweaks so if you put any effort into it then we can talk about what is really going on. Until then its worthless to try to teach you when you clearly have youre head up your ass.

Cheers

PS to others, feel free to quote me on this whenever computergenie is being a butthead (pretty much all the time)

One of the few coins that I watched...surprised to see it being delisted on Polo.  Story?

story is going to be all about poloniex. SOOO many people are raging pissed off at polo about all the delisted coins. The troll box is complete chaos with people barking at the polo mods and tossing some pretty vulgar words at the mods. They wont give any reason to the delistings which left people even more confused since they didnt seem to make a lot of sense on many metrics they talked about. Hell just yesterday we were posting on social media about hitting the new record on f@h of 274 million ppd, so someone at poloniex didnt research too hard at all making those calls.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]CureCoin - Protein Folding Research based Proof of Work on: April 19, 2017, 10:32:25 AM
Polo delisting CURE and NOT delisting FLDC is a crock of BS.
They will lose my business entirely if they actually pull this stupidity.

Poloniex did put Curecoin into their delist notice. Curecoin has lost exchanges before and also was never put on Cryptsy (once thought to be the determining factor for a good coin yet it turns out cryptsy had bad intentions and is shut down). Yet we keep making waves on the leader boards in F@H.

We will be trying to combat this action and have already started. Folders and traders use this form to keep Curecoin listed on Poloniex https://poloniex.com/coinRequest

You can help by keeping an eye on our social media and resharing items also.
https://twitter.com/CureCoin_Team/status/854551650433892352

Don't panic is good advice. Personally I saw the price fall and I put a full bitcoin into buying more cure at this low price.. So obviously my plans have not changed to grow Curecoin ... Cureveballs like this have always made it difficult to grow Cure but the Pflops count for Curecoin keeps growing over time. Curecoin is not going anywhere except maybe off polo for a bit. Any investor worth their salt will see the likely hood of a price correction after the polo panic. Thats pretty much what it was. Some polo users assumed that a coin gets "deleted" out of existence when it gets delisted from 1 exchange. Goes to show that investors dont all need a hs diploma to trade crypto. Polo is taking a lot of flak over this move also.

dont forget that even at these prices curecoin is was already on track to hit rank #1 in the world on the biggest research DCN in the world. People seem to forget that constantly...

https://www.reddit.com/r/curecoin/comments/64edjr/curecoin_total/ recent topic here was just answered on reddit about total coins in circulation.

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/cure/
Here is the most accurate place to check out the curecoin chain - currently 23,686,497 CURE is the total on the block chain. The 6 top addresses hold the non circulated coins that get paid over time to the folders. subtract the top 6 addresses from the total to see whats in circulation. So currently in circulation is ~8,900,000 Cure
The total mint is to be around 28 million but will likely be a few million less since that figure is considering is all blocks are SHA mined but Cure is a proof of stake hybrid, which lowers the total coin count when staking is heavy.

-----------

@computergenie the guy I have posting on twitter does his research, its actually 2% of women according to the study stanford did https://web.stanford.edu/group/pandegroup/cgi-bin/home/wp-content/uploads/Survey-Summary-F@H-Participants.pdf , he was trying to be nice with 3% as to not point fingers but yea, ~98% of chicks apparently think this stuff is lame  Huh

-----------------

For Curecoin 2.0 we are still working on its core. I think its been bumped close to 10 more versions since Vorksholk last posted about it. The latest cleaned up some sync speed issues among other things.

As far as the changes to 1.x, we may delay them a bit further as a recent discussion held a consensus that the original plans seem to be working as intended and it just needed time for more people to adopt and get to know about bitcoin / curecoin / folding etc etc. One member of the discussion made a good point about how Curecoin has been serving its purpose from launch day 1 compared to many other projects that are still trying to get past an alpha stage such as golem and storj. Storj did recently get out of alpha though but I remember meeting that team at the BTC Miami conference over 2 years ago and that space of time was filed with an alpha while the whole time curecoin was outranking all other folding teams on it way to the #1 spot in DCN history. So when we look at it that way along with recent spikes in cure and other alts we are not in a hurry to fix what is not broken, we prefer to get it right the first time. So work on upgrades continues but dont let that stop you from folding and seeing what kind of $ you can make with merge folding etc.

Lots of comments point out XCP that foldingcoin works on has its woes. To that I say just send them to and exchange and sell em for the bonus $, or send them to me Smiley either way Im pleasantly happy with the profit margins of merged folding. I have not bothered to mine ETH or zcash etc in a while since they also heat up gpus far more than folding. Mine for what you will though, its part of the fun!

Thank you for your attention.
I understand that it is difficult to alter unomp under curecoin.
Tell me please, are there any other platforms that no improvements will be compatible with curecoin?
For Example CoiniumServ?

rather than altering your current setup, try a google search for "POW/POS hybrid mining pool github" the first couple matches look like they may be helpful. I have not purchased an asic since 2014 though so other than pointing out those tools my other advice would be to try searching peercoin forums, or maybe look for Techbytes or ahmed_ in IRC channels. They can usually be found in digitalcoin irc and myriad coin to name a couple if they are not in curecoin irc. Currently the curecoin team mostly uses the foldingcoin slack since they had a good platform already there and we are now working with the foldingcoin team as much as possible as both coins are pushing the same agenda while offering a different platform for the token itself. If you are solo mining you might**( especially if your wallet and miner are on the same LAN) get better efficiency mining straight to your wallet without stratum. Hopefully that helps.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]CureCoin - Protein Folding Research based Proof of Work on: February 17, 2017, 04:09:52 AM
....
3. CureCoin will be moving closer to pure POS asap in prep for CureCoin 2.0
....
Well, at least I know in advance to pull the plug on my $15k investment. :/

You stand to make more from gpus per watt even if you have an s9 or 15k$ worth of them. Also asics are good for a lot of other coins too, like bitcoin. If your serious about your investment you should know this and have thought this out. I highly recommend looking through the asic mining guide on coinwarz if you are serious about asics. I dont think Ive ever heard of anyone else buying asics just for curecoin.

Also, the move is "closer" to pure pos.. next phase for 1.x is still a hybrid. Also Asic hardware gets outdated faster than gpus and then becomes worthless unlike gpus when the next model comes out, so figure in extra hardware deprecation.  Just my 2 cents.

I think last poster bardacuda agrees with this - "I knew I should have bought those nvidia cards back in the fall..."

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]CureCoin - Protein Folding Research based Proof of Work on: February 16, 2017, 04:17:09 AM

FifthGhostBuster can be found often in our slack or irc, we are moving over to slack currently. The curecoin.net/forum is a much better spot to get a quick response from one of the team members. I do have someone that watches the facebook and twitter accounts quite actively also. The large single thread here is tricky for support issues.

Join link for our slack http://slack.curecoin.net:30000

As to a previous comment yes it gets pretty tricky to catch up on posts here. Since most of the last 5 pages is talk about PPD I have a few items to share

1- I have a 1070 evga hybrid getting 750k ppd solid under ubuntu 16.04 headless
2- I have a couple 1080 evga hybrids that bounce wildly from 800k to 1.2 million PPD on a similar setup.
3- I finally messed with the setup enough to be able to control fan and clock speed on a headless system and plan on seeing if the 1080s will fold stable at the same clock as the 1070 (its a pretty big difference in default clock on those 2 cards)
4- It could be argued in high electric cost the 1080 is better, but I think it needs a little tweaking
5- Ive spent way too much time rebuilding my folding machines looking for the best builds. In summary, use linux, its much faster.
6- The linux install guide on foldingcoin.net is pretty good, I was referring to it as a baseline build until I started to use 16.04, I will share my findings in an easy copy paste format to make it easier for others to crank out every last bit off PPD possible without crude tactics like a large overclock which can cause your folding to fail.
7- Folding is simple at face value, rather easy to get going. Fine tuning though can be turned into a career. Brands, ambient temps, drivers etc etc etc all make a big difference. I think we have a lot more research to do before we can officially crown the 1070 or the 1080 the king of folding.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]CureCoin - Protein Folding Research based Proof of Work on: January 22, 2017, 01:51:36 PM
My spells of genesis collection alone has probably paid for months of my folding (if I sell this sweet dragon I got).

May I ask you how you got that dragon? Me I just have FDCARD X.YZ on my XCP wallet... Is there something to do to convert them into actual cards?
Thanks!

Im no SOG expert but hopefully this helps.
1 Click the counterparty asset called MAGICFLDC(you might have to use the full web interface and not tokenly for this, havent tried it)
2 Expand the details on it, at the bottom of the window that pops up will be an address , copy it
3 go to https://sogassets.com/ and enter that address
4 check out what cards are tied to your address

For those who are not just trolling, keep an eye out for curecoin 1.3.5 in the next week or so.

Changelog?

1.3.5 basically will be better check pointing, alert system, and active testnet.. oh most important for now is version tracking so we can make the changes we need to move to 2.0 properly. Same thing you see in the peers tab of btc and some other coins basically and getting more use out of it. I know btc is retiring their alert system but we want it active for curecoin long enough to upgrade to curecoin2.0 at least. As Vorksholk said we should hopefully have some kind of unveiling late this month. Either way Im going to continue prepping and bettering curecoin 1.x.
