261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Common Q&A about Bitcoin: Non-Technical Edition (Earn Merits) on: March 04, 2018, 05:44:09 PM
Quote
Q: Will Bitcoin make me rich? (asked by Walrus1 here)

You know what pal, the way I see it, the answer to this question depends entirely on what kind of person you are or how you live your life when you are not in the crypto world(poor or rich doesn't matter that much). This maybe hard to understand so let me explain it even further; You see my friend, doing signature campaigns or any other bounties/jobs that pay you in cryptos or bitcoins together with investing and trading is no different with jobs, businesses, investments or any other opportunities out there to earn some money. I mean, all of these are the same because anyone who wants to earn in any field(crypto related or not) must work hard and dedicate a lot of time studying and learning to have at least enough knowledge to be good at what he is doing and a lot more knowledge to excel from others and earn the same or higher than others. The only difference is see is that working in the crypto world lets you decide what day of the week and what time of the day you wanna work unlike other jobs that require you to work on specific days and times.

Look, the point is, bitcoins together with all the other altcoins out there are not the ones that make someone rich, what makes a person rich is himself. Meaning, if a person in real life is lazy, coward, and does not have the determination or actually put some hard work to change himself for the better, then he would most likely be a failure also in the crypto world. That is, if with the advantages that we can benefit from in the crypto world does not changes his mindset.

- Hope this helps clear up your mind Walrus1, good luck with your crypto ventures and good day.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty Earnings on: March 04, 2018, 04:28:47 PM
Hi guys.

Out of curiosity, what are you earning with bounty campaigns?
I think I'm somewhere near 1K USD/month, but I guess there have to be people here who are earning lots more.

Kind regards

EDIT:

As many people do not believe these profits, I will explain how I make them.

I focus on the translation campaigns (dutch). A translation pays +- 3 ETH on average. I have only started (only 1 translation has been paid, I received +-2 ETH), but as I can make up to 3 translations/month (currently working on 2 more), this would get me 9 ETH/month.  As not every project is succesful, let's say I will receive 4,5 ETH/month.

Do not focus on signature campaigns or social media campaigns, these are the crumbs (especially for members with lower ranks) while translation campaigns are probably the bread.

I use the Bountyhive platform to manage my bounty participations, this platform makes it possible to be enrolled in 10 campaigns at the same time, without having to report.

Well, that sure is great for you, and I honestly am pretty glad that you are able to earn that much on just translations alone. But you know what, the problem is not because we do not want to do translations and only want signature and social media campaigns but the demand itself. Some of the people here do know that sig camps and social camps really are just crumbs compared to translations and moderation of threads. But the thing is, a lot of people are after translations, and most of the time, people do not get accepted unless they already have a lot of experience in doing these translations. Now, if you think about it, how can these people have experience when no ICO would want to accept them? And even when there are some that accepts inexperienced translators, only a few has the chance to get in first. That is most probably why a lot has been stuck and just prefer social media and signature campaigns.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: On March 1, the beginning of the bullish trend? on: March 04, 2018, 04:10:50 PM
Not only nature wakes up in the spring, but also the all crypto-market. Last year capitalisation grew 4 times during the spring.
I suppose this time we will see even bigger growth, especially considering such a serious correction in January. So, now it is the high time to transfer you fiat savings to the cryptocurrency and wait for the growth.  Wink

Well, I sure hope that that will also be the case for this year. Because to be honest, I really haven't seen a lot of good news just yet about any altcoin in the market. In fact, what I see more often are red colored numbers on my portfolio. Although I still get to see some green ones, they stay for just a day and sometimes don't even get to reach a whole day and just increases a bit and then go back to red again the next day which is very alarming. But even so, I am still filled with hope because as what you are trying to say, I also think that the cryptos are following a pattern. I just hope cryptos continue to do the same for this year because if not, my losses would be heartbreaking.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it normal for ICO prices to drop once they're listed on the exchange? on: March 04, 2018, 03:57:35 PM
Well in my experience, I think that the reason as to why such things happens to ICOs after listing is because of the small investors in the pre-ICOs or the secret pre-ICOs on some coins which then sell their possessions when it gets to exchanges since they already see big profits and then just buy again when the prices dumps. Another reason can be the bounty hunters that sell their rewards after seeing the said tokens/coins getting listed. But that doesn't really happen to all ICOs when they get listed because some rises even more when they get to exchanges. the outcomes may really vary depending on the type of token or coin. Which is why you must learn to pick the right ones to invest in before you let go of your hard earned investing funds.
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think this year will be Red? on: March 04, 2018, 03:20:45 PM
This year will be green for sure. The popularity of crypto is growing every day and this is the reason for the growth of the market. We are tired because of a long drawdown but crypto spring will come soon Smiley

You got that right! Cryptos surely has taken quite a blow at the first months of this year which has lead to big losses on various people's investments. But to be honest, I really do not see this as a bad thing. Instead, I see this as a great opportunity to gain more profits and to learn for those who have lost big investments last year. With the great news surrounding the crypto world today, I think that the prices will eventually get some chance to recover sooner or later within this year. We all just have to wait.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What you guys think?? on: March 04, 2018, 03:07:35 PM
I dont really know? because i am not part of these market manipulators who are responsible to the market pumps and dumps. But lets hope that this month would better than the last 2 months because we have enough bloodbaths, we need to have some bull run so that more of these investors will join our growing community.

You know what pal, you clearly do not have to be on a bunch of pump and dump groups that try to manipulate the market just to have a little insight of what's about to happen to a specific altcoin. Same goes to those pump and dump people, just because they are in a group of pump and dump, that does not guarantee knowledge to when the price rises and falls because some people on top of these groups take advantage and do not make signals on time to make the most profit out of the pumps. at least that's how I understand pumping and dumping schemes.
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you see bitcoins yourself? on: March 03, 2018, 12:49:53 PM
Wow, I have got to say, a lot of forum members old and new have given quite a good number of great responses. There sure are still a lot of us that are interested in bitcoin's growth more than any other alternative coins out there. The sad thing is, most of the responses are all money or profit related. Not that I am saying it is bad, I mean, I too want the money and profits. But the thing is, more newbies are only seeing bitcoins as something that is a money producing thing rather than a currency or an innovative technology that can turn this world around and rid us off of the outdated monetary systems that we are currently stuck in. Oh well, I guess money is just too strong and to hard to resist. Anyways, thanks for the responses guys, good day.
268  Economy / Economics / Re: stop being negative and start being positive. on: February 25, 2018, 05:50:48 PM
Amazing post man. There really are a lot of negative people not just here in this forum but all over the world. Negativity, this is a real problem that the world is drowning in right now. This causes a lot of problems and leads to a lot of reckless decisions and judgments. In some cases, some people even resort into suicide which is really alarming. But even though I strongly agree with you, I really don't think it is that easy. However, I think that if anyone really puts their minds into it, I think that it will really be achieveable.
269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin affects students' performance in school on: February 25, 2018, 04:04:00 PM
As far as I can observe being a teacher, I am definitely happy that my students are involve in cryptocurrencies and they earn for themselves and help their families. But, their school perfomance is getting worse. Please give your thoughts how will you help students to earn and at the same time it won't affect their school works?

You know what pal,  the only thing you can do for now is to just give them advices. Make them understand how important cryptos are and how much education is far more important than anything else. Other than that, there really is nothing you can do anymore. The rest depends entirely on your students. They are the ones who have to take over their own ships and choose what they think is more important to them. The way I see it, they don't have to give up any of the two. All they have to do is just make the other their first priority before giving time for the other. You have to understand that you cannot be the key to every door. You will have to accept sooner or later that you can never help everyone.

*Hope this helps in any way. Good luck to you amd your students op.
270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Media is negative about Bitcoin? on: February 25, 2018, 01:07:18 PM
I do see the basic principle that states, negativity attracts more attention than the positivity from the masses. Media will always try to gain maximum eyeballs by defaming something that is still in the development mode having uncertain future. Bitcoin is not an exception to this reality, however, it is a plus point that the number of people blindly trusting media stories is decreasing day by day. On the other hand, I do see that since politicians and big whales from the government have high stakes in media houses, they will always try to manipulate the interpretation of everything in their favour.

You are absolutely right. The media we have nowadays is really different from what it was back then. The media used to be built with the principle of giving the best they can to spread real news that people need to know no matter the cost. But now, they are all the same and even when some of the media personnel still do want to be honest ij doing their jobs, they are forced to follow the commands of their superiors which are clearly controlled completely by the richest of rich and the most influential. But as what you have said, a lot of people are already starting to open their eyes amd see the reality. Which is great byy the way because it makes the false news of media people be worthless or meaningless for most of the people out there.
271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think bitcoin has role to play in the future? on: February 25, 2018, 12:50:07 PM
Bitcoin is a digital currency that is fast, secure, decentralized, and which also has very cheap transaction fees.
Bitcoin has no border from one country to another that is why it is accepted all over the world.
Based on all these aspects, do you think bitcoin has a role to play in the future?

Share with us what you think? thanks Smiley

For sure it definitely does. I strongly believe that one day one of all the crypto currencies out there that is already existing or still about to come one will really be a currency used widely all over the world if not butcoins. And even if this does not happen, I am pretty sure that the banks will adopt the technology of bitcoins together with the top altcoins out there and make their own virtual money which they can completely control and regulate. That is what I think.
272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Millions btc stolen, tortured for btc, why can't the criminals address be found? on: February 25, 2018, 12:30:08 PM
Well, people losing bitcoins or money or any other currencies out there is really something that we cannot prevent from happening. It is simply out of out hands. The only thing we can do is take care of our own possessions and take every precautions out there to make sure that we, and all our possessions are all safe and secured. One reason I can see as to why it is hard to trace these transactions from criminals is because they are using sites that are giving services to make a transfer hard to detect. I that the word for it is mixers although I am not so sure but that's the only way I see that these criminals can cover up their traces.
273  Economy / Economics / Re: Wonder how many people can hold BTC for more than 3 years on: February 24, 2018, 09:38:18 PM
I think people who kept Bitcoin that long are those who maybe didn't even have the intention to cope with Bitcoin seriously on long term. Maybe they have bought it and just forgot about it and left it to sit idle in some wallet.
I seriously doubt that all of them are visionaires who knew how the Bitcoin price will develope and thus they were speculating. But if they did that now they are more than happy with their decision.

Well, that really does make sense. Because clearly, as what I understand it to be, if anyone is serious about something or is really into something, he will always want to have information about it. See it, monitor it etc., etc., etc.. Just like how a man takes care of his car, or a woman with her nails. Those are just a few examples. Now, out of all these examples, Do you think that bitcoins are any different from them? Because I most certainly do not think so. Which is why most of us often look at the prices of bitcoins on the market and get totally depressed when prices go down drastically or be so damn happy that we wanna throw a party when we see huge increase in prices. Therefore, I conclude that most of the people that have been able to hold their bitcoins for that long are people who have only invested very small amounts of money back then and doesn't really care about cryptos that much when bitcoins were still cheap as fuck.
274  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin help out of school youth... on: February 24, 2018, 08:46:24 PM
Do you think Bitcoin can help out of school youth to finish their studies or not?
For me in some other way yes it will help . It will help young people to gain insight on how to earn money and how to value the money they earn. But it may also be the reason to them for not continuing their studies because they earn already a lot of money on bitcoin..

Well obviously every single opportunity in this world is not an easy thing to manage or to make decisions on to. Which is why there are not many people that are billionaires. You see, bitcoins together with all the other crypto currencies out there are not the only ways to ear money for any purpose anyone may need it. What it really is is an innovation, a great technology and just another opportunity to earn extra money. Whether the person becomes successful or not in life does not depend on what things he do but instead, depends on how hard working, how resourceful and eager a person is to excel in anything he or she does. Learning never stops for the living, we always get educated everyday in various ways. Degrees are just tittles that help make people see you as something reputable without even knowing you that much yet which makes job finding easier. But other than that, I do not think going to school is important. That is if the profession you are aiming for does not require skills that you can only gain from schools and certain courses. But if not, and can be learned by self studying, then it wouldn't make any sense to go to school. just saying
275  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin bull run begins now? on: February 24, 2018, 08:23:41 PM
Just hold your horses everyone. Bull run hasn't started yet. Its like we are having a small pullback everyday specially when we are about to start a rally. It will go as high as $11,700 then a retracement below $11,000 then it will bounce back once again. A bullrun is when the price rise unexpectedly which we haven't seen as of yet. Nevertheless, its a good sign that we have this kind of spurts from time to time, which means that investors are now slowly getting into the market. We may see bullrun in the next coming weeks or so, the questions is are you already onboard when the herd starts its run?

I believe so too, this is exactly what is currently happening today. And I have to say, with what I see as of now? I really think that all these spurts and corrections are very healthy not just for bitcoin but for all the other altcoins out there in the crypto world. I say this because clearly, events like this can only do two important things to the investors or owners which is either shake of those weak handed people who are only in for the greed and make them learn a good lesson so when they come back, they are more knowledgeable and more deserving to be owners of cryptos. The other is that it can give chance to those who are sad because they think they have already have been left very far behind by the early adapters. Anyways, I think the bullrun will be happening a few weeks for now too. Which is why I am preparing for it.
276  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy in your country on: February 24, 2018, 07:42:59 PM
What do you think are the effects of btc in your country? Because in my country it thus not affect the economy of ours. Share yours.

Well currently, I really do not see any changes or effects as you put it, in our country's economy as of this moment. Although I am not sure about that, I pretty much think that that is the case as of now, or maybe the changes or effects are still too little for me to notice. And even with the fact that I have acquaintances that have really became financially stable because of bitcoins together with all the other crypto currencies out there in the crypto world, they are too few to actually make a noticeable change or effect in the economy if ever they really did make a difference. But even so, I think that in the next two years, there will be graphs existing in some countries showing the difference made by bitcoins in their countries which I hope will also happen here.
277  Economy / Economics / Re: How much money do you have left from your job? on: February 24, 2018, 06:52:37 PM
I want to talk about salaries. How much $ do you have left after paying taxes, rent, and basic expenses (electricity, water)
I get $10 000/y like a fucking slave
My spending basic is $5 000 / year, including food, $2 500 without food
I live in the former SSSR
Another reason to move away

Also they give me these communistic so called "benefits" when you get like prepaid cards for predefined services

https://www.facebook.com/televize.polar/videos/1047399295339540/

Like a fucking slave? Are you even being serious right now? damn bruh! That amount of money per year is already quite a big amount if you ask me(although asking me wouldn't make any sense since my life sucks at the moment)! I am fucking homeless! I currently live in my parent's apartment, have no job, no room for my own(I sleep beside my mom by the way, and if my dad is on holidays,  three of us sleep on the same fucking queen sized bed.), and need to ask my parents for money sometimes for my needs or even for just a pack of smoke whenever I am broke as fuck because of failing a business attempt or by getting fired from a damn part time job. Not to mention I already have a son with the girl I really love but cannot live with them since I know I still cannot give them a life they truly deserve. Bloody hell. I am already fucking 23 turning 24 and a father to a great son but I still am as useless as a damn crippled horse! It would be easier to accept this life if I was a lazy retard who does nothing but sleep and eat, but what the fuck man?! I am doing the best that I can and still things aren't getting any better! I can't even afford to get my son checked and have to rely on my parents and my girlfriend's family to support my son's needs! But despite all that I still sure am not the type of person who self pities and gives up easily. As long as I have air in my lungs and can move my hands and feet, no matter how many times I fail, I will never give up.

You may wonder why I shared my humiliating life to a forum in the internet where a lot of judgmental people lurk and can really insult and hurt people easily without even putting themselves into other people's shoes. Well, if you ask me, I really do not know either. Maybe it's because I can relate, or maybe I need to make some good quality posts. But whatever the reason is, I just want you and others to know that no one is alone. Because clearly, everyone is struggling with something and that no one can be exempted from problems. Although the level of every problem may vary from one person to another, the fact still remains; we are all the same, we all have problems and we all get upset and cry over some of them. The only difference is what we do or how we deal with our problems considering the circumstances we're in and the cards in our hands.

I think I may have probably said too much and have taken quite a lot of time from you and from the other readers out there so I'm awfully sorry for that. But anyways, I hope this helps to keep you and others out there to stay motivated in striving hard to reach your goals and be able to see more of the good things that happen to life itself instead of only seeing the negative side of things. Good luck with all your ventures in life and good day Smiley
278  Economy / Economics / Re: Will countries or central banks create their own cryptocurrency? on: February 24, 2018, 05:54:24 PM

A few countries and central banks have been talking about “digital currency”, and most of them are carefully ignoring the term “crypto”. Fact is- digital currency is not the same as cryptocurrency. These countries/central banks are recognizing the benefits of the digital currency features of cryptocurrency, but they don’t want any of the decentralized uncertainties that come with blockchain-based currencies.
Will countries or central banks create their own cryptocurrency?

Well, judging by the similarities of how governments and banks are reacting or dealing with bitcoins or with the crypto world as a whole together with all the actions of some of these country's government and banks, I pretty much think that something like this is pretty logical to think about and might really do happen anytime within the near of far future. Because clearly, even with the drawbacks of crypto currencies and all, it obviously has a lot of good benefits and innovations that banks and governments can clearly use to improve their monetary system and get more benefits for themselves with the plus of having a great alibi to rid themselves and their countries off of cryptos once and for all. That is what I think.
279  Economy / Economics / Re: Is this basically just another way to make money? on: February 24, 2018, 04:28:46 PM
My start with crypto/btc was that I invested a bit end of November last year. I had a few friends that told me about their small successes and how easy it was to just 'start'. It was indeed quite easy. I started to read and research into btc and every other relevant coin. Whitepapers, teams and such. Then I started to shift focus to the block chain, starting to get a grasp on what could be the future possibilities. I started to get real exited and invested some of my savings in a few projects with (to me) real potential. None of those projects appeared to be alive because of speculation only, mainly because they have a vision and actual plans.

So then I noticed that there are quite a few documentaries. I started to watch them all. A few from 2015, 2016 and 2017. I was disappointed to say the least. Everything was about bitcoin and the value/worth of bitcoin. It was about highs and lows, crashes and deceit. Only a few times the actual potential of the block chain was mentioned. Mostly it was about money.

Right now I am starting to feel like this is just a way to make money. Nothing more nothing less. You buy into btc or other coins and in no way are you really supporting the project, besides maybe adding to the order books at the exchanges with some minor effect until whales decided to take over. I sometimes have some sort of dishonest feeling, like the money I make through buying (and seldom) selling is somehow dirty as it comes from people that simply do less research, bail out or simply already had their take.

I started with high feelings of morality, being part of some new future where block chain would be the next internet. Right now it feels like a rat race where you have to grab as much money as possible before others take it before you or from you.

Not that I am ungrateful. I like many projects because of the team behind it that actually want to change the world. But if I look around me, it is mostly those that are in it to make money, a lot of money....and this money has to come from somewhere right (those that lose money)...

What is your take on this? Is this all a phase, part of how this game works?

You know what op, my advice to you is to not think too much about things you know that you have never or can never ever really control like this one. Not that I am saying it is impossible for things to change around here in the crypto world, I am just saying that even if it is possible, it is on a point where it stands next to the line dividing impossible and possible. Now don't get me wrong, I completely agree with your point. In fact, I have been through the same conflict within my mind and still think that the way things work around here in the crypto world really sucks. But the thing is, I know that there is just nothing that I know of that I can do to make things better than what it already is today. Which is why I decided to adapt and take advantage of the opportunities while enjoying the innovation that cryptos bring to this modern world. Because let's face it, the world is too greedy to be good with things like this; if we do not adapt, we will get left behind. So, knowing ourselves, we can stay at ease because we know that we are not only in the game just because we want the money but the technology itself and the innovation it brings to our clearly outdated monetary system. Not to mention that there are thousands if not millions that are only in for the quick buck. So trust me man, there is nothing to be ashamed of. Just because you are earning(small or big) due to your hard work in studying how things work around here at the expense of others, doesn't mean that you are a bad person forgetting his morals. Because whether you like it or not, just like others you to have basic wants and needs that you need to satisfy or have.

But hey, for what it's worth, it already is a very big thing that you only choose to support projects that you think are really making a difference and are really honest with their goals in solving problems that are currently existing to help better the real world together with the other things in the virtual world. Hope this really does make you feel better and stop being too hard on yourself for the wrong reasons. Good luck with your crypto life man and good day. Smiley

Oh, and by the way, this message is not only intended for op himself but also for everyone who really does feel the same also. Thanks for reading and if you think it really helped you in any way, please do feel free to merit. It will be very much appreciated. (wink*) Wink
280  Economy / Economics / Re: Five reasons 2018 could be the best year yet for cryptocurrencies. on: February 24, 2018, 03:50:07 PM
Hosp has explained before why a potential cryptocurrency bubble could burst in 2018, but there are several factors that make him see upside potential in the space.

For bitcoin, the most important cryptocurrency by his estimation, he sees a 150 percent potential upside for 2018.

Taking into account several factors, the cryptocurrency market's upside potential could rise to up to seven or eight times present levels, he says.

1. The work on scaling issues
2. Large scale and more legitimate ICOs
3. Regulation
4. A lot of execution and usability
5. Institutional investors

For more info or details heres the link.
https://www.c[Suspicious link removed]m/2018/02/23/bitcoin-ethereum-other-cryptocurrency-five-positive-factors-for-2018.html

I think this is reasonable.

Well, that is an amazing thing to hear and would pretty much be a great thing to believe in for people like me that is truly a crypto lover specially when it comes to bitcoins. But the thing is, all of the mentioned factors above haven't had any products yet or outcomes except institutional investors. All of those would be great if they really are going on and working. Just like (1), obviously, the scaling issues hasn't been fixed yet. 2nd is most probably very unlikely nowadays. And the 3rd one can either go with or against the cryptos. While 4th is clearly not possible yet. 5th is already happening but not as much as we want it to. So I guess, the cycle from the past years is still gonna happen for a few more years. How many depends on how fast this issues that bitcoins has gets fixed.
