621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Healthy mindset to save earnings from gambling on: August 07, 2023, 01:29:09 PM
When it comes to gambling I have my own weaknesses and I figured them out because I don't want to make costly mistakes, I fooled myself that I couldn't make any big amount of money from gambling unlike investing money in assets, so I understand that gambling is the highest risk of them all, so I have managed to beat the taste of possible higher hits from gambling so I only try my luck with small money every time, never have I used more than my target for gambling.

You don't need to force yourselves to embrace gambling if you are afraid to lose money while enjoying it.
I was into gambling not just by thinking that is a sort of entertainmentt but also because it gives me a chance to win if got so lucky. But if we consider gambling as another source of income, it is just like we are fooling ourselves.

@OP, I couldn't think about a healthy mindset with gambling because I'd never see it. Whether you may agree me or not, gambling don't give you earnings but instead, losses. However, the most important is you make yourself enjoyed of what you are doing.
622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: August 07, 2023, 12:20:36 PM
If you are onto gambling for the first time it's not possible to get addicted to gambling because you haven't tasted what winning feels like, you will be consumed by doubts and uncertainty.

Early winning especially for new gamblers will give them the wrong idea thinking that this is the right place to stay as they thought that gambling would make them rich. They'll never know exactly what awaits them in the next couple of these of gambling. Many speculations arise and base on my experience, especially these online games, there is a sort of manipulations as we usually win on the very first day and this is a trick to help you encourage to gamble and spend more. And after a short happiness and winning, worse things happen and that is an absolute lose.
623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be watchful it's not yet time on: August 07, 2023, 11:52:46 AM
Lets advise new buyers. Your asset division point is crucial. Friends, investment isnt about the latest, greatest. Its forethought, wise allocation, and diversification. In our crypto jungle, Bitcoin and Ethereum are the lions - trustworthy, robust, and well-known. However, altcoins are like monkeys with no direction. They may perform incredible tricks, yet they may fall and take your money. Dance with these monkeys with a tiny amount of money you can afford to lose. Falling won't end anything. Who knows? You may learn from a minor loss
Well, the market is so tricky and it was already flooded with shitcoins and scam projects. This is very unfortunate that ever happen in crypto as we thought that this is a safe place but somehow, it turns out like it gives us some reason to decline the said  earning opportunity if we are not sure that our investment will grow or badly at loss. I'm afraid and sO I don't encourage my friends to invest in crypto if they don't understand the situation and I don't make myself a medium for the losses. We learn more but yes, we had also lose money first.
624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling experience using loan money on: August 07, 2023, 05:21:23 AM
I knew that there's many topic like this in the past that asking advice about loaning for gambling. The intention of this thread is determined what's the actual feeling when you are using a loan money on gambling knowing that there's an interest rate on your borrowed money which means you already lose part of your money before you start gambling.

I saw many high rank users here that asking for loan and directly deposit the loan amount on gambling account. I want to know what's the experience on using loan money. Is there additional pressure on gameplay or just the same using regular money without an interest rate.
Taking loan to play gamble is beyond the principle for playing gambling.  I see  borrowing money to play gamble as addiction, doing this is not just love for gambling but addiction,  a level of gambling that it is so hard for one to play responsible which is to control and know when to play and to stop. To borrow money to play gamble is a bad one because gambling is too risky and it is too hard to predict when to win, in a game like this I still wonder why people will choose to borrow money to play gamble when they are not sure what will the result be at the end.
This is the result of getting into addiction.
 - debts/loan
 - stealing
 - criminalities
If someone will come to me and asked for loan money for gambling, I certainly decline even if they offer a huge percentage because I know that it was hard to make money from gambling. I have had this experience before, I join the lottery and borrowed money from my friend. Well, as we all know that we can't win in gambling if we don't have luck - of course, I lose but I pay him back. But I'm not sure if that is a huge amount.
625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON is bad coin, here is why on: August 06, 2023, 09:55:32 PM
Justin Sun copied the idea from Vitalik Buterin, but his ecosystem allows you to make transfers without commission if you have a certain number of coins staked. Many do not know, but Bandwidth and Energy can be delegated to another user for free transactions, but there is no such thing in Ethereum, so there are a lot of stablecoin transactions in the Tron ecosystem.
The idea is crypto coin, doesn't really seem to be different than most of the others, it just looks like it could be possible. I believe that we could make it work one way or another. I understand that it could make it harder to be different and that is why Justin Sun and overall Tron managed to do one thing that would matter and that is transaction fee being nearly free. That is the difference it put in the mix and they should be liked for it.

I do not have any neither, but I always think of it as a good project, I do not buy it because there is no attraction to it, and if you are not attractive to the investor, then the price will not go up. I hope that it gets to a point where it can go up a bit more than where it is now.
Yes, most of us don't see TRON as one of the promising and profitable projects but we never say it was a useless project. Might accept that only a few people had put their money into this project but considering its existence in the market for many years, we could think that it is better than these meme coins and other altcoins especially if we talk about transaction fees. I believe this project RON become sustainable because of its ecosystem but can't force people to look at its profit potential as it never looks like that.
626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SIGNS THAT A CRYPTO PROJECT IS A SCAM on: August 06, 2023, 02:16:17 PM
I would rather look first if the project was backed by reputable VCs (venture capitalists) like Binance Labs, Pantera Capital, etc.

Regardless if that project has a nice looking website, Twitter (X) blue account with many followers and engagements, etc., as long there are no venture capitalists claimed to back then, I won’t be investing or engaging on that.

Unverified smart contracts are also a sign of red flag like the latest allegation against Trait Sniper. Many people are going FOMO mode into that airdrop but with many red flags such as their Discord verification pointing towards a phishing site, wallet drainer, etc.

Many factors that we can consider if the project is scam aside from the few points made by the OP.
But unfortunately, most of the time investors never spend a few minutes reading the whole concept of the project and know who are the people behind it because what is in their mind is focusing on their false promise. If you can see earning xxx in a few days, many people got crazy with that offer not analyzing whether it was a scam or not. That is why we can stop these scammers and still see a number of investors become a victim.
Sad to say but, it was too sorry for those who no ability to determine a scam project/s but I encourage them to try opening their eyes and analyze the project first before investing.
627  Economy / Economics / Re: what do we thinking about investment target? on: August 06, 2023, 01:16:48 PM
What we have to remember in this case is that investment is not a day or two to get profit but we may talk about years to be able to really earn so by looking at the progress that exists for the last few years I think it doesn't matter with the existence of new technology or whatever it is everything will be fine if it is in bitcoin because I still believe they will continue to develop in a better direction.
Because the truth is that there is no such investment that we can earn a profit right away. So if we are investing in Bitcoin and that is our mindset and expectation, I would say that we are not suited for this stuff. Because it was very clear and if we are able to understand what is investment means, it is absolutely we have to become patient or else, we just only disappointed. That is why I see a lot of individuals who are investing today but after a few days, they have gone. It is a good decision because it was hard to invest if we are impatient, we only just lose in the end.
628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 06, 2023, 12:51:36 PM
One of the great passers for me. Whenever I watch his passes back when he's still in Minnesota, I'm still wowed on how he is passing the ball to his teammates. He's a great passer, but injuries got him very bad in most of his NBA career, and like you said, it might contributed on why he decided to focus on his mental health right now.

As to if he will return to the NBA, it will depend on the outcome of this rehabilitation for him. If basketball is his passion, he might still play basketball. Will he return in the NBA? TBH, chances are very low because of his history within the league. Injuries, injuries, and injuries all throughout his career. I think it would be better for him to just play to his national team, or to involve himself into anything that's related to basketball, but not coming back to the NBA. He's young though at 32, he's still at his prime, but I don't think that any other team will re-sign him once his contract expires with the Cavs knowing his history of injuries.

Overall, I still commend him for being a good passer in his first years in the league.

He was still young when he started his career with the NBA because he was already tagged as an exeptional player because he had an early exposure with his national team which is the Spance.

Quote
Ricky Rubio was born in El Masnou, Catalonia, Spain on December 21, 1990. After starting his professional basketball career in Spain at age 14, Rubio was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the fifth overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. However, he played two more seasons in span before coming to the NBA.

source

Rubio was a good passer one of the best but unfortunately his points production isn't that impressive.
If we look at his stats : https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/r/rubiori01.html

He is not a player who averages 20+ PPG, so not really as good as CP3 during his prime and other great good ball handlers in the NBA.
629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: August 06, 2023, 06:22:03 AM
Also, I don't think these exhibition matches are rigged because if we think that way, then all the excitement and fun of watching these matches will be gone.  Sad

Rigged or not, what's important is the outcome is very entertaining, just like what we witnessed in this particular fight. Nate was hurt badly, but the guy has a huge tank that he was able to last until the final round. This is Jake Paul's territory, although he isn't undefeated anymore, but as a social media personality, he really looks tough and strong as a boxer.

According to reports (I'm not sure if updated), here's how much both boxers will earn.

Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz – How much money will they earn
While official payouts of the upcoming Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz bout are unknown at the moment, a report from AS.com suggests that ‘The Problem Child’ is guaranteed a purse of $2 million and Diaz is guaranteed a purse of $500,000.

630  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Deciding Between Mining and Direct Investment on: August 05, 2023, 09:38:34 PM
For me, I don't choose mining over Bitcoin. Why? Because if you consider the cost of maintenance, it is really expensive and could just beat you down. Unlike if you are just investing in Bitcoin, you did nothing aside from waiting for the price rises and then selling, then repeating the strategy. But if you are into mining, you need to compete with others which is why you need to upgrade as possible which is costly, and if not manage well, you can be like others that had already shut down the operation.
631  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should we rely on prediction? on: August 05, 2023, 01:46:30 PM
well for me? i use prediction as one tools for my decisioning but that doesnt mean that everything in predicting will be on because there are also coming from my own research and sighting each projet.
though in bitcoin? yeah I completely trust and i need nothing to explore more.
And we use to do that because that is the only thing we have in this unpredictable market - we all live in predicting the future and assume something to happen. But I would tell everyone that I was happy doing this because this help me to know more about Bitcoin as I recall the past events and price improvements. It was the fact that nobody is an expert on the future of Bitcoin and even if you are here in the crypto space since the beginning, you can't tell what really happen next, it was still a prediction.
632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another Fud in the market and bitcoin volatility on: August 05, 2023, 01:13:38 PM
I could say that the government is hunting these big market players and exchanges and Binance if one of their targets. If they are done with this one issue, they'll be making for another issue until such time that the owner will give money to the government in a form of protection. This is really going to happen and we know that the government has been bulgar to such things, money under the table. If you have money to give, they will just skip you but if not, they keep hunting you and never stop.

Well, if ever that was true, then we can expect a dump...this really makes people afraid of adopting Bitcoin.

Unless events like FTX collapsing or something similar will put a dent on the market as what we have seen last year. But in this case, SEC vs Binance, it can't also as much but I doubt that that the market will react negatively and putting sell pressures from us.

Maybe temporarily it can create sell pressure knowing that people always react on the fud they read since when they see that there big negative news occur it means a dumping situation will happen. This became a normal thing but as always it became silent when many days pass and that one is good to wait since for sure accumulation stage will happen since mostly we can see a recovery after that. Maybe the same with that case its better for people to relax since we all know how fud end up and the only loser with this scenarios are those people who easily get panic on certain situation.
It was not new to us, indeed, it helps to keep the market so volatile. As we more talking about FUDs, panic, and accumulation will there to follow. Honestly, in every FUDs that happened, whales had benefiting a lot while these newbies become a loser of their doings and sell pressure. It was about the time to force ourselves to become strong and ignore the things that happen around because that was not healthy anymore. The more we interact with the news whether it was bad or good, the more it affects our decision-making and emotions.

Gilas fails to sustain charge against Senegal

Quote
GILAS Pilipinas failed to sustain an early fourth quarter charge and fell against Senegal, 72-64, in the Heyuan WUS International Basketball Tournament in Guandong, China Friday night.

I've seen the whole game and that was very close up until the fourth quarter when the Senegalese show their height advantage. If only Kai Sotto and Jordan Clarkson were playing in that game, high chance that Gilas will won as Sotto would add ceiling to the Philippine squad while Clarkson will provide his scoring prowess that went missing for the Gilas in the final minutes of that game.

What can I say? Of course, this is a learning experience for the Gilas Pilipinas. Kai and JC, I think, will only play in the Philippines during the actual game, right? Anyway, I think the current Gilas lineup is still competitive, but we still want to see them win, as the team has been criticized a lot every time they lose.

By the way there's a good news for us.

Jimmy Alapag joins Sacramento Kings’ coaching staff in NBA

Maybe this is the answer that we are looking for. He can replace Coach Chot, as he sure can help the team improve, being part of the coaching staff of the Sacramento Kings. And who knows, maybe someday we will see two Filipino coaches in the NBA if he gets promoted again to become a Heat coach.
634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: August 05, 2023, 11:36:58 AM
His explosiveness excited basketball fans but I hope that once he turned pro he would taper it down as that kind of playing style is prone to injury that could shorten his basketball career.

I doubt he would change his style; that style made him play well, so he will stick with it. He just has to be careful all the time. Maybe he will be like Abando in case he won't be playing in the PBA. We've seen how popular Abando is already because he is also a high flyer, and Poypoy has an advantage against Abando as he looks stronger, and both are high flyers.

Not sure about comparison with Abando, Poypoy is hype by social media while Abando prove things in numbers, maybe if Poypoy will make that same hype if ever he enters PBA and continue that same hype or manage to produce that same numbers, which still in question if he can fly that high when he's already playing with PBA players,.

Just an opinion Kabayan! no offense with your observation I'm just a good fan of Abando even when he's still playing with UST even there's a rumor about "hulugan" thing during the Ateneo finals up to Letran when he transfers and wins a title.. hahaha

I'm just riding the hype, hehe. No worries, maybe my expectation is too high because I'm just amazed by what he had shown in their previous games. It's too early to say, but I'm optimistic that once he gets into the PBA, he will become an all-star player, maybe an MVP candidate if he continues to play at the same level as he is showing now.

Meanwhile, Gilas suffer a loss against Senegal.

So many ways that would help newbies to become good trader as all the necessary learning that they needed are already available online or offline, what they need is to read and understand it.

The only thing that I would like to say is that they don't have to put in mind that trading is easy nor underestimate it but rather take this seriously. Because the more they will think that it was difficult, the more they think about doing it hard as well which led to them becoming careful of their actions. Because many traders had failed as they expect it was too easy, that is how influencers spread wrong information.
636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's the best Altcoin for this moment to accumulate right now? on: August 04, 2023, 09:26:31 PM
I want to find a good Altcoin to invest in before the bull starts, also have a non-custodial exchange. This means, that we have complete control over our funds. If there is, please help convey it, because a lots of new altcoins was born every day.
Choose old coins if you are afraid of taking risks with these new altcoins. In fact, we have a lot of potential altcoins like ETH, BNB, Sol, etc...only for you is to choose what coin/s you think is good.

And talking about complete control over our funds - make use of your personal wallet, not the exchange wallet and never consider them as storage wallet. I use MyEtherwallet for many years and it was still okay. Well, all I can see is we need to do research and be careful of our decisions as this is the only help to avoid scammers.

I'm not sure if Miami will continue to try offering what they've got or like what you said, they will stay with Hero and try to develop
his skills for more competitive capabilities.

Future draft picks will be the biggest offering + Herro, it could be 5 or 6 but not sure if Heat is willing to give up that kind of huge players. So the only thing for us is to wait and see how everything will go down.

Pretty sure negotiations are ongoing and they are staying away from public exposure to avoid issues. IMO the Miami Heat should go all in on Lillard otherwise I have doubts about their ability to return to the finals or even in the eastern conference finals after giving up Max Strus and Gabe Vincent. They also let go of Victor Oladipo plus 2 future 2nd round draft picks to earn more cap space. The Miami Heat obviously lacked assets for direct trade with Portland, so they badly needed a team or even more to facilitate a Lillard trade.

They lose a valuable piece which contributes on their offense and defense like Vincent and now if they cannot get Lillard maybe your assumptions that they might struggle to reach in finals again might be right. But still if there cores still intact and Bam also Butler became healthy then we can add up the return of Tyler Herro still they have a chance to kick up for another finals run even if Lillard will not successfully acquired by Miami.

They will be able to acquire players that would replace Vincent. In my opinion, the Heat system is what makes them a great team, even though they lack superstars, they are still very competitive. Imagine what they achieved during the playoffs; they made history but were just unfortunate to fall short in the NBA Finals.

The Heat is still a playoff team. Acquiring Lillard will make them a championship team, so let's see how that negotiation will go as there's no news yet that the Heat has no more chance of acquiring Lillard.
639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 02, 2023, 02:41:32 PM
The Lakers look better on paper, and I also expect them to make at least the playoffs next season. However, as you said, they will rely a lot on LeBron and Davis' health anyway, and that's a problem because both players have missed a lot of games due to injuries over the last few seasons. It will be good if LeBron can play at least 60 games and Davis at least 50 games next season.

You hit the nail on the head with the injuries, but are you really expecting Davis, a man in his prime, to play less games than a nearly 40 year old LeBron James?  That in itself shows the dire situation the Lakers are faced with.  They need to get rid of Anthony Davis for the good of the team.  I get that can't happen now because you have to cross your fingers and hope you'll get a healthy LeBron James and Anthony Davis going into the playoffs, but what do you think the odds of that are?  It makes you think maybe Kawhi Leonard is on to something.  How long until other teams just don't play their stars until the playoffs?

My expectations regarding LeBron and Davis are based on stats from previous seasons. Davis has never played a full season (82 games) in his entire career. Besides, the trend over the last few seasons is that if he plays at least half a season, it's an accomplishment for him. For example, he played only 36 games in the 20/21 season, 40 games in the 21/22 season, and 56 games in the 22/23 season. So yes, I expect this trend to continue next season, and Davis will likely miss more games than the aging LeBron.

But the good thing is, even if Davis misses half of the regular season, the Lakers will still make it to the playoffs. I think it's better that way, with Davis missing some games in the regular season but being 100% available in the playoffs, as playoffs matter the most.

The Lakers already have a strong defense and are a good rebounding team. The only problem is their consistency on offense; they seem to lack confidence in their outside shooting, resulting in a low percentage beyond the arc. This mistake has haunted them throughout the playoffs, especially against the Nuggets, who are a good outside shooting team.
640  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do 90% of Bettors Lose in Sports Betting in the Long-term? on: August 02, 2023, 01:50:22 PM
Sports betting can be profitable for some, but it's not suitable for everyone.

This is the reality; just because some people make money in sports betting doesn't mean we can also make money. Of course, we can try, but it's important to set limits in everything we do, as the more we force the issue, the more we may end up losing. If we find that we cannot consistently make money in sports betting and we still enjoy gambling, then maybe it's time for some self-evaluation. We could consider gambling just for fun, where we won't notice our losses as much since we'll be focused on enjoying the experience. This is different from treating sports betting as a business, where we need to track our wins and losses to determine profitability.
