341  Economy / Lending / In desperate need of financial help/guidance.... on: December 05, 2013, 08:50:11 PM
Hi I'll try and save the sob story as much as possible but I have found myself in real shitty financial situation all of a sudden. I don't really know where to start with this so here goes:

I am a 23yr old living with my girlfriend, I pay for everything with the money I get from my work as a courier. Things have a habit of going wrong for me.... This is the story of my most recent debacle...

A few weeks ago I went to work the first saturday I have in a long time. When I got there I loaded my van up and opened the passenger door to get something out and the whole locking mechanism just, well, broke! The door would not shut at all. This meant I had to take one of the company vans out with me. Long story short - 2 x 20 Litre containers of Rapeseed oil somehow tipped over and leaked out in the back of the van. I won't begin to describe the nightmare this caused to me, the van, the public and to all of the customers parcels that were on-board! The police AND the highways agency had to come out and deal with the mess.

I have just got back from work after being told by my boss that they will be charging me over £2400 for the whole cleanup, van rental while the other one was being rid of all the oil and for the goods I was carrying (most of which was completely screwed). This money is going to be taken in 3 payments (I get paid weekly) starting tomorrow!!!! Thanks a fucking lot eh?

I have explained to them that obviously cannot afford that, I don't understand what they are thinking really. I will barley be able to pay for my expenses (fuel, insurance, van payments etc) let alone pay the rent and eat during the week! Oh and in case you weren't aware: It's Christmas in a few weeks, also it's my 4yr anniversary on the 16th!

I am screwed and really need some help getting some money fast.

I no longer have any bitcoins to speak of, I wasn't very clever with mine and was selling them when they were much cheaper to pay my way through life and also payed off a few debts in the process. I spent my last few bitcoins they other day on a blackarrow X-3. In all I had sold about 60% of my coins - the rest of mine and my friends were in 50BTC!
I am awaiting a withdrawal from mtgox for £10,000 but this does not belong to me. It is from my friends Avalon which I have been looking after, he does not have a verified gox account either. When this will actually hit my account is fairly irrelevant as it's not my money to spend - as much as I have though about doing a runner!

This is just the tip of what has been going on recently but I hope you get the idea.

So here I am trying to figure out wtf I am going to do in the coming weeks. I don't have anyone that can help me out financially so I am calling upon the community for help. There are some people on the forum that are fairly wealthy now and I ask you to please help me get through this. It's Christmas and my anniversary coming up and I can't afford to pay my rent in 2 weeks let alone buy gifts, or even a Christmas tree!

What I am asking for is a loan, to be paid back in full early in the new year. Bear in mind I have another ASIC coming in Feb 2014 (fingers crossed) and I earn a decent wage (without the recent charges coming off anyway)

Some help/guidance would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

German police have arrested two people suspected of illegally generating Bitcoins worth nearly $1 million.

Bitcoins are an unregulated, virtual currency that is stored in password-protected electronic "wallets" and used to make purchases on the Internet and at some brick-and-mortar businesses. The currency also is traded in online exchanges, where its value fluctuates widely.

Prosecutors in the German town of Kempten said they are investigating whether people used software to create digital Bitcoins worth 700,000 euros, about $950,000, Bloomberg News reported.

The two suspects were arrested this week in raids that turned up evidence of other hacking activities, German police told Bloomberg. The suspects weren’t identified.
"Digital currencies will keep law enforcement authorities busy in the future," Joerg Ziercke, president of Germany's Federal Crime Office, said in a statement. "The relative anonymity of the currency makes money laundering easier and lowers the risk of being caught."

In a separate Bitcoin probe in China, three people were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of stealing money from investors through a fake online exchange, the official Xinhua News Agency reported, citing local authorities.
Bitcoins gained some credibility after U.S. law enforcement and securities agencies said at a U.S. Senate hearing last month that the virtual currency could be a legitimate means of exchange

I don't get it.... Illegally generating bitcoins??  Huh

All's I'm saying is there is a fair few CRIMINALS and THIEFS that own a HUGE amount of bitcoins/wealth at the moment....  Huh

That's no good imo.

349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IT pro says he threw out 7,500 bitcoins, now worth $7.5 million on: November 30, 2013, 07:34:26 PM
He's not an IT 'pro' if he:

1. failed to take a hdd backup;
2. failed to check what was on a hdd before binning it;
3. failed to physically destroy the hdd before binning it.

Not a 'pro' in any means of the word.

And total lack of awareness of his situation.

If he was an "IT Pro", one of the worse ever.

I have absolutely no sympathy for him.

Besides, I find the story incredulous.

I've read a follow-up article that states he is actually searching the local rubbish dump for it. Good luck!

Other asics company already moved to 20 nm.
By the time you found enough fools to invest, 65 nm is already outdated

I think you are mistaken, no ASIC can be at 28nm, the semiconductor titans like Intel and Samsung are not even there for real production yet.

KNC has shipped 28nm ASICs...
351  Other / Archival / Re: PAPA ASIC NEED FUNDING PLEASE PARTICIPATE on: November 30, 2013, 04:20:04 PM
Ok i can wait for test chips and we can discuss more after i see them performing, but until then this is a big no no for me.

I agree, as much as I want to invest you... you'd have to be an idiot to just send 1.5btc to you with absolutely NO EVIDENCE.

You both realize nobody's getting money for a bounty, right?

Yeah of course, I am waiting for a 10k withdrawal so really no need for a bounty Wink

I can pay the total straight away.

Thanks

Ben.

Are you still selling spots in the pre-order queue?

I am very interested in bagging one of these!

Thanks.

the problem is when you know the right balance...and you know how many months you have to pay the electric bill to mine then you realize that you got screwed it's a big problem.
i konw that i mined around 130-140 btc on that pool 30 btc was send on 24bitcoin, i got them back, 20 btc are on mtgox and the rest of them are in 50btc.
i know that my ballance say that i have mined 270 btc...that is not true...but the 82 btc are the real deal and i invest a lot of money to make them.
and stop with "is not a banck" i pay a fee, that money is for the safety of the site implicitly for the safety of my btc!!!
and if they will not do anyting why not to sue them? i have my data, i want only my btc back!
info about the owner?

Im waiting on 1.05BTC

I look on the facebook page and people are complaing about not being able to withdraw 40 to 333BTC(in one case). I mean come on, you dont withdraw 333BTC and cash in when its at its highest that's like 195k.

I'm putting this down to a learning curve and set my Autopayouts a hell of a lot lower.

Nobody lost 40 BTC or 333 BTC.. 50BTC went down because the payout amounts were wrong and I'm guessing someone cashed out big. My account says I'm owed 21 BTC but I realize that it is innacurate.

I had 2 avalons mining on 50btc from day 1. 173BTC was mined in total, I only ever withdrew +/- 50% of the coins to cash out. 91 BTC was definitely lost over here  Roll Eyes. It's pretty disgusting really, disgustingly painful.

the site has been down for hours now, is this the end?  Cry  Cry  Cry

The site is still working for me. 3 different payouts still 'processing', it is not looking good Sad
