Hi MJ,

Thank you for running with this.  I just paid for 2 coins: #24 and #48.
282  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] LuckyBit rose gold plated wallets RAFFLE ADDED! on: May 01, 2016, 12:02:19 PM
I'd like to reserve two of them if it is not too late-- #24 and #48.  I can send the btc over and coordinate with minerjones for the group buy to the U.S.

Can you confirm before I send the btc?

Thanks!

Hey, sure that's no problem. PM me the tx id and I'll include your coins in the group buy Smiley. The payment address is in the OP.

Thanks, NewAnon,

I just pm'd you the txid.  I will also post on minerjones' group buy thread.

284  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: where to get cheapest bitcoin? on: May 01, 2016, 12:16:56 AM
Though not the cheapest, someone either near you or online from localbitcoins.com should be able to help you.

I've used this guy before: https://localbitcoins.com/ad/315497/purchase-bitcoin-cash-deposit-bank-of-america-instant-release-right-now-united-states.  If the ad isn't running, just open another one of his ads, cancel the trade, and start a dialogue with him.  He's good, he is fair, and he is honest.  (Okay he's me Grin)

Actually a more convenient link for those who apply: https://localbitcoins.com/ad/325144/cash-out-your-bitcoins-boa-to-boa-online-trade-using-computer-or-phone

I just did a $150 trade with someone Smiley
285  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Holding Bitcoin a long time good way to make money? on: April 30, 2016, 11:57:46 PM
It's been almost a year since the op, and btc was between $200 and $300, and now it's between $400 and $500.  So in the past year, holding bitcoin for a long time meant you basically doubled your money!!

It's anybody's guess as to what will happen up to and after the halving.  I've read everything from pump and dump to it going up to record levels.  But I think in general, holding onto bitcoin has been a good investment.

If/when bitcoin fails, it still may be worth value.

And if it tanks, I think it will take at least a week.  If you're fast enough, you'll sell them off and make a profit as well.
286  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I have 5K€ to invest ! on: April 30, 2016, 12:15:42 AM
I would invest all of it in btc.  No alt coins, no mining.  5K is a lot but not enough for mining.  Also, I have been looking into mining and I keep coming across posts of miners saying they're getting out of it because it is no longer profitable.

Do you know that the price of bitcoin has doubled in the past year?  That is an awesome investment, better than the DOW or NASDAQ.  Not that you even have to hold onto it for a year.  You could hold onto it for 3 months and see how it goes.  As long as this investment is something you can ride out without making you sleepless at nights.

And if you decide you can't bare to take the volatility of its price, you can liquidate it on any of the peer-to-peer exchanges like LBC and paxful.  That is where I would buy them too.

Then when you feel like you want to reinvest in bitcoin, you can re-enter.

Once you have gotten used to the whole buying of bitcoin, you could take more risks by learning how to trade in bitcoin.  The advantages is that you are constantly going from btc to fiat, so if btc takes a hit, you can still do well.  The disadvantages: the learning curve.  Expect to pay for your mistakes.

Either way, I say buy btc.  Start with that before you try alt coins.  Good luck!

293  Other / Meta / Re: (NOT)The most stupid notification ever on: April 29, 2016, 01:44:07 AM
This forum is filled with people making deals, entering into commitments, and forming relationships.  Oftentimes a newbie posts something that is worth discussing, buying, or bidding on.  This notification really is meant as a double-check.

I double and triple check every address I send btc to.  I do my best to make sure the address matches the one in the OP.

This notification is one extra help.  If this is really annoying you, then it is a luxury problem you have.

I've seen MUCH WORSE notifications.  How about when Trump notified the U.S. that he was going to be the next president...
294  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best way to buy a lot of bitcoins? on: April 28, 2016, 06:43:19 PM
You can try the exchange available in my signature. They are most reputable and many people including myself frequently buy sell bitcoin there
But it is showing as “Buy and sell Bitcoin is India”.
Will the OP be able to buy in their own country? I mean that exchange is only for india or other countries are also allowed to buy and sell their coins?

Good point!

As others have mentioned, use reputable exchanges, and make sure they can take trades from your country.

For example, I use itbit, but I am in the U.S.  I don't know if I would use it otherwise.

Also, bitstamp was just in the news for being the first nationally licensed bitcoin exchange.

Lastly, as other people have mentioned, you can often rely on localbitcoins.

The fee structures depend on the situation.  For example, you are going to be likely paying some bank transfer fee for the bigger exchanges.  For localbitcoins, the cost per btc might be higher, but the fees can be lower.

There are so many new exchanges popping up.  Whatever exchange or platform you use, don't be the pioneer.  Let others test drive them and read up in the  forums or reddit before you make your decision.
295  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I want to make a trade! on: April 28, 2016, 06:03:05 PM
Op you should be more specific with your thread, as you`ll notice you`ll get buried into lots of reading..

Esp when you dont dont know if youre either to go with alt coins or bitcoins etc.

Know what you want 1st..

he has already replied in the third comment, he also has it in his signature; you should really try and read the comments before you post.

to @OP why don't you use a peer to peer platform like localbitcoins.com or sites like that for trading bitcoin with fiat?

Thanks, talkbitcoin for making it clear to others that, yes, I am looking to trade bitcoins.

I already trade on localbitcoins.  One of my ads is https://localbitcoins.com/ad/317363/cash-out-your-bitcoins-cash-deposit-bank-of-america  I have other sell and buy ads on there as well.

I just wanted to expand my business.  I thought bitcoin forums would be a good platform.  I posted in the currency exchange section, and I got no bites.  It looks as though people are looking to exchange vcgs.  Also the trades here seem to be smallish.

I guess most of the traders are on LBC and paxful.
296  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Discussion]What work would you do for 1$USD per hour? on: April 28, 2016, 05:42:51 PM
How much would you charge for easy coding work?

Someone mentioned $20/hour.

Seems a little high, but I don't know coding.

I ask because I may (just may) have a need for someone to do python coding for me.

Also, I may have a need for Spanish to English translators and vice versa.  I am wondering how much per hour to translate.  Thanks!
297  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where or How To Buy Bitcoins...link please on: April 28, 2016, 04:51:47 PM
.

Where or How to buy bitcoins is perhaps one of the most important things for my website.

1- At http://www.2bacco.com/crowdfunding/index.html
I want to try and provide the best info I can,
about where or how to buy bitcoins

2- But, I want to be paid btc to put info or links onto that page
at 2bacco.com .
I am in the midst of pre-crowdfunding and crowdfunding
work for 2bacco coin, so will be working at driving traffic to that
webpage, and I believe I should be paid somewhat for my work, and why should I just put someone elses info and links
there without being paid to do so, wouldn't you agree?

3- How much will you pay me to put your info and links to your site,
and attribution to you, onto that page at 2bacco.com ?

I will put your info, links and attribution to you, for only 0.1 btc
for the entire year, and you will get some exposure during
the crowdfunding campaign that is going on now until about
the end of july 2016.

0.1 btc for a full year is the lowest I can go.
Please post here or pm me

Thank you Smiley

*I reserve the right to raise this price at any time without notice,
but if you pay for it, and I do the work to put your info at 2bacco.com
then I will honor the 1 year commitment I made,
so if you want this low price, move quickly,
there are possibly exciting developments which might make this
alot more valuable, so I would be obliged to charge more then.

.

I see, so you knew all along where to get bitcoins.

This was really just a way to get people to advertise on your website.  You might want to move this thread to the marketplace section.  Good luck
298  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beginner starting trading on: April 28, 2016, 04:35:51 PM
For the amount of btc the OP was talking about, you really don't have to know complicated terms like stop loss.  It probably isn't even worth it to join an exchange.  As people have mentioned the tx fees alone will eat profits, not to mention any commission the exchange takes.

For such a small amount, for anybody to get their feet wet, I would suggest finding a reputable escrow service here, and find a trading partner.  Such a small trade would only serve as a way for you to get used to using a wallet, using escrow, and transferring btc.  Very important to get the fundamentals down, like following the tx thru the blockchain, and understanding wallet security.

Once you feel comfortable trading in bigger amounts, find a peer-to-peer trading exchange, like localbitcoins.  The bigger exchanges have too many fees unless you are trading larger sums.

I have expressed interest to the seller on this.  I will let toomim know as well.

If either of you can show me why I should invest in the product along with the service, I will do it.

I need a turnkey solution.  If all I have to do is set it and forget it, and you can show me-yes show me- when the roi will be, if ever.  3rd month?  7th month?  12 months?

Both wpt1wpt1 and jtoomim have a stake in this.  You guys can pm me and break it down for me.  Walk me through it.  Talk to me like I am a high schooler.  Whatever it takes to make me understand- is this possible or is it a losing proposition.
Thanks!

My electric is 0.06KWH in USD if anyone wants me to host stuff i'm more then happy to I wont charge much extra to add it in my cluster of miners.

I'd do the same thing, I've got plenty of warehouse space, climate controlled and. 065 power. I know when I was mining at home my .12 power sucked to much profit.

Tell us more.  Where in the U.S.?

What's your experience?

Trust?
