Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Best miner for the money?

Thank you for all the feedback. I've already paid for 1 of the miners this week(ROI). So I am making my investment back slowly. PPNLS is the way to go for sure.
You need to understand how mining difficulty works before you invest more into mining gears. (And also that it doesn't matter if you are using PPLNS, PPS, or any other payout mechanism.)

I honestly think he is trolling us. I mean, how likely is it that someone who has this much money just sitting around be this dumb? Being scammed is one thing, but being scammed and acting even dumber on an online forum is another.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: In CGMiner, what does "Best Share" mean?
|
on: October 20, 2013, 06:23:03 PM
|
Best share is the highest difficulty share you have found.
The block difficulty is the minimum difficulty required for solving the block.
If your best share's difficulty is higher than the block difficulty, it means that you have found at least one block. Otherwise, all of your shares were not enough to solve a block.
In terms of your income, unless your pool rewards block finders more than others (which is very rarely the case), it does not matter to you at all.
Also, yes, 10 mil. will be "closer" to solving the block than 1 mil., but you either solve a block or you don't. So "closer" doesn't mean anything.

Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Any better steps to use eroupters with cgMined and hub

dont use cgminer. it requires special winusb drivers and some sort of proprietary communication method.
BFGMiner uses the official Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge VCP Driver, which is install once, and done. BFGMiner will detect all USB miners without a problem, and even supports hot plugging.
My CGMiner uses CP2102 USB to UART Bridge Controller and supports hot swapping of Block Erupters.

My Windows client is not syncing either, and I used addnodes. My other clients (BTC, LTC, FTC, FRK, WDC, BQC, etc.) all run fine.
EDIT: I addnoded every address in the first post, and it finally started to sync.
EDIT2: Now it says "WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Wait for block chain to download, or notify developers." It looks fine otherwise, so I don't really know what the problem is.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin-QT - Signing a message using a change address

Do you already know what the change address in question is?
If so, you can just paste your change address into the Sign Message dialog box and it will work.
I can see how signing with a change address could be an issue, as they aren't listed in the Address Book dialog, but as long as you have a convenient way to find your change address in question (like copying from Blockchain.info) just pasting it in should work.
Thanks! I did not know I could just paste my address.

By the way: - Shares have a face value of 0.01 BTC - Shares retain a minimum of $0.1 USD value each.
Should any event make Bitcoins become valued at less than $1 USD per Bitcoin or impossible to be transacted, you may request to redeem your shares for $0.1 USD instead.
That should be 10 USD per BTC I believe. I actually messaged Graet about this before seeing this thread but has not gotten any response back yet. This whole thing (copy-pasted with error that is not being fixed for days after being pointed out) looks very fishy to be honest, and a lot of money is involved in this.

Hi, I have been wondering around the forum for a while, even before I joined, and there are so many threads I would like to post on. I am finding it difficult to post something useful in the newbie forum. I find that I can often answer or provide some insights on questions asked on other forums.
I am a web developer and computer engineer. I have not done much developing pertaining to Bitcoin yet and do not really have any plans to do so for now, I am definitely interested in doing something in the future.

I have been using bitcoins for some time now and have been browsing around here a lot, and I finally decided that I want to join.
I first randomly heard about it somewhere on the web and decided to search it. The fact that it is a P2P currency made me curious how it works, and I am now mining and using bitcoins.
