1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Tor was not working on: September 30, 2023, 10:05:48 PM
If you can't do the other suggestions of using a Linux OS or change your OS asap. Try using Brave browser, it's got a TOR version.

New private window with Tor

But the cons on this one is that there will be some ads that will pop on your notification but you can easily close that. I usually don't click on their ads even if there will be some brave rewards or bat tokens that will be collected for each ad you click. It's not compulsory to click them so, you can ignore or close it.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and gambling which one has done you more harm on: September 30, 2023, 12:20:58 PM
When we gamble what we are looking after or expecting is money which is [profit] and when buy bitcoin and invest what we are looking after is [profit] and when you so many people they skip bitcoin investment to gamble and some uses very big amount of money to gamble whereas the same amount of money will achieve some fraction in bitcoin investment. So I come with this question to know the thing between this option or words I presented the one that done you more harm, if bitcoin  has done you more harm during the times you invested in bitcoin you can tell the public and if gambling has done you more harm by losing in gambling frequently you can also tell the public.

But for me I think gambling is the one that done people more harm than bitcoins investment, because almost every day people gamble with different platforms but its few of people that invest in a day or weekly, I will like us to discuss these.
It is a vague comparison on which did more harm to people. Bitcoin is an speculative asset for which everyone knows that its volatility can do either positive or negative to their money. Whilst for gambling, it's commonly known that the house always win and that's why when you gamble, you've got either 50/50 chance or lower than that. To myself, Bitcoin has never done me harm and I have never thought of it that it will have that impact in my life. In fact, it has done a lot of good things and it's one of the reasons why my life has changed a lot, for real. And with gambling, I'm just kind of neutral on it. I'm not a compulsive and severe gambler so the impact isn't pretty much for me.
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to become a swing trader with $5 on: September 30, 2023, 10:12:02 AM
I haven't traded on ETF but you know what? $5 for an ETF does it really suit when the minimum trade and deposit for most centralized exchanges are likely around $10? And the profit for swing trading with that capital won't put you that far and that's the reality. Let's say that you're a very successful trader and you're able to make that much with small capital. I don't think that you'll still make that much the second time around but if you do that then, you certainly are a good and experienced trader. But let's all just set the reality about trading and it's easy to say such strategies when you yourself can't grow from it.
4  Economy / Economics / Re: Recession? How to face It? on: September 30, 2023, 08:07:09 AM
The advantage of getting to know the status of your country's economy is that you can prepare. But sadly, too many citizens don't prepare for such situation because all they think is that they're living a happy life and tomorrow's gonna be fine. And there's no need for them to worry about tomorrow's situation. Then pandemic came and everyone starts to look for some survival strategies especially those that don't have jobs and have been laid off. This is the importance of having an emergency fund of at least 6 months and more. Before it was like okay to have 3 months of EF but then when things have changed, it should be more and prolonged. What's being lowkey on a recession is the emotion effect and impact that it brings to everyone that's having tough times. Yeah, you can all of that money and savings and needs but when you're hit mentally even having those, you'll have hard time to get up.

5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Avoiding Faucets and Airdrop Scams on: September 30, 2023, 06:22:57 AM
For faucets, I don't find any problem if someone is into it because you'll just have to put your receiving address and that's it. There's no need for you to access your wallet through it and just drop by there when you're just going to claim those small sats that you're taking from them. And for the airdrops, they're the ones that are more vulnerable or likely to scam or hack participants. I don't also like to do victim blaming but that's what it is. He should have been careful with that and I think it's just all about the thought of having free money and willing to do anything for it. We're already aware of these things but it's just sad that we're still seeing people that have experience in the market becomes a victim of this. Just do not connect your wallet or do not log in using your wallet when an unknown website asks you to do that.
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin October Month Performance on: September 29, 2023, 11:35:00 PM
Bitcoin October Month Performance

🟢2013 → 60.79%
🟢2015 → 33.49%
🟢2016 → 14.71%
🟢2017 → 47.81%
🟢2019 → 10.17%
🟢2020 → 27.7%
🟢2021 → 39.93%
🟢2022 → 5.56%
⚪2023 → ?? %

What do you think?
How much will Bitcoin pump this October? 👀

Comment Your opinion ⬇️

Based on that sequence, then we should get one more drop then by 2024 we'll see an October that's on gains.

October is just next week and a lot of positivities of Bitcoin's potential price breakout which has become a much-anticipated thing for a while now since Bitcoin touched it once basic price level of 25k some days ago, this is why a lot speculations that we may see a more drastic price movement that can bring bitcoin close to around 28k which should be the least basic line to determine the benchmark at the end of October.
$28k won't be hard since we've seen $27k and then pulled back a bit. News are like the pushers of the market at these times, they're like setting the demand depending on what will be shown especially with what's popular these days, the ETFs. $25k is likely the support this time and if it drops some more, I'll start buying again.

7  Economy / Economics / Re: Chase Bank New Policy On Crypto - Users Beware !!! on: September 29, 2023, 10:08:06 PM
AFAIK, JPMorgan coming from hating Bitcoin/crypto to making their own coin and then being positive to the Bitcoin ETF applications. But if Chase bank is just part of their conglomerates then they have to implement it. With that decision and terms, it's nothing wrong for a bank to stop their customers purchase things related to crypto. If that's the policy that they've made but at least make that clear first to all of their customers that they're not going to give any refund for any customers found doing that. That's kind of a harsh policy but then, it is their company and they're the ones making it so customers just need to follow it. Well, there's that word about just use other banks if they want to purchase crypto.  Cheesy
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and it effects on: September 29, 2023, 08:19:56 PM
Today I want to take a deep dive into gambling and how negatively it has impacted our society;

Growing up into a man I got used to gambling believing it will change my current financial status, which I was wrong, it was quite the opposite, not that am not seeing money, I was but I was too fix in making it through it.

When I finally quit the addiction, I realized that I was doing better than I even thought,

Fast forward to yesterday when I go into a betting shop to see someone, I was shock to see some of my guys in the neighborhood which I knew they where doing well, now looking wreshed an tattered.

One one thing I have noticed about gambling is that before you win a thousand box, they might have milk you of more than that.
[I just want to use this medium to appeal to the younger generation, please stay off gambling, if you must do so, gamble responsible, don't take it as your only source of living so it wouldn't milk you dry.
It comes down to what you've said about being responsible. We're all responsible for our actions and as we gamble, any result of it should be justified by what we're doing. In the first place, we know that gambling is literally gambling. We lose, we win, we have bad and good days.
Those that are making money from it, good for them but it can't be done to all of us. As much as you want to be like them, they also gone through a lot of bad days before they're able to make money from it and treat it as a source of income. Whatever works for them might not work for us. So, if you want to stop, just stop. But if you want to continue, make sure that you're all doing it with due diligence and being aware of any possible outcome.
9  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Am I being scammed? on: September 29, 2023, 06:49:00 PM
Thank you guys. I felt like it was a scam, my guts kept me safe. But I'm a novice at crypto in general. My only experience was through Robinhood and that was just buying and selling. No wallets or anything so I had no clue. Again thank you guys.
That's good that you've got that gut feel that it was a scam because it was really a scam. Remember that no one is going to give you free money for no reason. And when they ask you to deposit certain amount of money for you to claim it, that's what the scam is.
You just can't receive xx amount of money and then you'll have to pay xx amount for you to get it. That's the logic of scam, they're making you feel you're obliged to pay what they're asking for that money out of thin air that's actually just air and there's no money at all.
Now that you're able to see answers of everyone. You're now free to lock this topic as it has served its purpose. Check it on lowest part on left and see 'lock topic'.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I smell fear... on: September 29, 2023, 05:12:39 PM
AFAIK, he's a bitcoin bull and has always been vocal on how he's investing in Bitcoin. My understanding on what he said is in positive manner of being priceless. But if it's the negative thought that's inside of his mind or everyone's thought, remember that Bitcoin has gone through a lot of these series in the past where people have thought that it's gonna die just because there's something new and another technology that might overtake it. And over the past many years, Bitcoin has never been out of the stardom just because of these statements and opinions that's being taken by these media as if it's gonna bring some fear to other people whether the person saying it is anti or pro Bitcoin.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let fear to lose be motivation to learn on: September 29, 2023, 12:55:13 PM
Since I know cryptocurrency my biggest fear is to lost all my capital or large amounts in trading or investment, because of the fear in me I don't do things that I'm not sure of or things I don't know. My fear to lose have always been a motivation or a reason for me to know things concerning cryptocurrency,  I fear to start trading when I'm of myself that I know nothing to trade , fear to start investment when I know that I don't have a source of income.
Don't trade and don't invest when you're unsure. But here's the catch, you can set aside trading and not learn about it but you need to learn how to take risk in investing. That's the way to go in order for you to gain on this market. If you're not going to learn how to invest and take risk, you'll gain nothing.

My fear have been a motivation to learn,  even If I start trading I may lose but not to lose everything because of the understanding I have. My fear to lose have always made me to take the right decisions and not to make money money my first ultimate in trading and investment but understanding as my first priority.

I know some of my mates who are into  cryptocurrency that phobia to lose but even with the fear to lose they still go ahead to trade. If beginners allows their fear to motivate them to learn first their won't be drastic lose in trading.
Overcome your fear, that's what you need to do. Because with fear, it sets the mood to yourself not to try something new or what you really want to do which is to trade and/or to invest. When you always think first of fear, you'll not progress believe me. Just forget about your fear and keep on doing things with thought that you'll learn a valuable lesson whether you achieve success or not.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Navigating Bitcoin ATMs While Traveling. Tips and Considerations on: September 28, 2023, 11:05:36 PM
Anyone here has any solid advice and heads up on the use of Bitcoin ATM. I'll be traveling to a new city and I'm learning there are a couple of Bitcoin ATM I'm the city. I'm looking to use one in the restaurant
where it is located in . I just want to know if there's any heads up or I should avoid it and pay in Bitcoin without using an ATM?
The most concern about using Bitcoin ATMs really are the fees just as said by everyone. But if you're for the experience or just a one time thing, you do it. Because who knows if you're going to like that and you'll just ignore the fees from it. They're convenient to use and much pretty treat the fee just the way it is with that kind of service. But there is a solution to this, you have your cash so you enjoy your journey on that city and at the same time, prepare your wallet with a bitcoin so you can pay directly with those restaurants or shops by just scanning it without having to pay a fee. And again, if you're just like to enjoy the whole experience from doing so, you just have to consider the fee if it hurts you or not.

So how's your start? With all of the information and tips given to you by everybody, how are they? If you're just starting out, what I can tip to you is to become active from the forum. You'll read different topics on a daily basis but to make that happen, you need to be active on a daily basis.
Also, please do consider what lovemayfamilis has said to you. Because if you keep on doing that, you'll always be reported to the mods and that's one thing for your journey to remember so that you can keep moving forward.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT WILL BE THE FINAL SITUATION OF BITCOIN? on: September 28, 2023, 07:49:04 PM
Wrong if you're saying someone bought at $60k and then the price now is $27k, there's still value or left from that money. It is that the value of the money that someone invested from it before has become lesser. But that's okay because this is what volatility means and that person just have to wait again until the price surpasses the $60k line. This has happened before and said during the peak of $20k and many have thought who's going to buy at that line knowing that it was an ATH, then another ATH came in.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin Can play its role to overcome the Financial Crises on: September 28, 2023, 10:18:48 AM

Bitcoin is becoming one of the safest and important technique during financial crises in this modern era. It is helping to provide stability, honesty, and financial freedom to people funds where no other one has any access to their assets, even though Bitcoin also has some challenges like price fluctuation. So, it is obvious that Bitcoin is changing and getting most adoptable day by day like how we deal with financial crises in this time.
As we know how uncertain financial times around the world happening, we need to pay attention like how Bitcoin can help us to overcome in the financial crises and tough time. It's not all about making it a trend somehow, it's a big rotate that we all need to think about and adapt to by giving it time and having knowledge, spreading knowledge about it.
Don't forget that it was also made during the financial crisis on 2008. And like what has happened these past few years, we've been experiencing crisis left and right and not just financial crisis but a global trend.

So, what we need to do? We have to give our time to this field to overcome our financial crises. The key is that how much we give our time to this field we learn that much about it.
And not just time but the money that we're investing on it, it could be from our savings or from other assets, investments and businesses that we have.

Bitcoin is a volatile investment, and whether you can profit from it to get you through a crisis or make you worse off depends on your knowledge and skills. Bitcoin does not guarantee you anything, you are responsible for your life.
This is true, it just so happen that those who believed Bitcoin and took risk out of their pockets can be said to be knowledgeable investors. Because they/we know something that others don't and that's why we're moving forward on it and still holds no matter what bad news comes out.
16  Economy / Services / Re: ⭐⭐ Looking for ⭐⭐ Campaign Manager ( Bitcointalk, Bounty etc' )⭐⭐ on: September 28, 2023, 08:35:07 AM
All of the given links are good lists if you're looking for a campaign manager. But most of those are no longer updated and the one that I'll be suggesting you isn't on that list yet but he's known in the forum and are currently managing a lot of campaigns. He's got no thread for his portfolio but everyone knows him and his reputation. Check icopress' profile to see all of the campaigns he has managed and currently managing.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why do hacks still occur? on: September 28, 2023, 06:42:47 AM
3. The fact that nothing is totally unhackable.
This is very frightening! but these companies can make their security protocol difficult that it is discouraging for hackers to consider hacking right? I think they are not preemptive.
Yeah, they can do that and what they are doing is just letting a third party security partner do the thing for them. And that's already there before they establish the exchange or service. But just like the others during their early days, the security wasn't tight for them and that's when they become serious when they're seeing the growth of their business. Somehow, the staffs needed to be trained in security matters too. Because one wrong move especially on those who takes tickets and concerns, when they've been penetrated through that. Then, they will definitely going to lose their jobs.

18  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: please help me? on: September 27, 2023, 11:45:44 PM
Can't find that address from the forum so how can you be sure that he's from here?

I think there are three possible options why the OP is publicly asking for something like this on the forum.

  • The first option is that for some reason he thinks that all people who have something to do with Bitcoin have an account on this forum.
  • Another option is that the scammer may have mentioned this forum to him or that he has an account here.
  • The third option is that the OP is just trying to catch someone naive and play the victim, to whom someone will take pity and send a donation.

Whatever it is, I'm sure that neither the scammer will show mercy, nor will anyone be so naive as to send a donation.
Yeah, all of those are possible. Maybe there will be someone who's gonna react that he's the real one but we highly doubt that as these scammers really are not going to show to the public that they are scammers. Anyway, OP seems to be busy but I think he's aware of the replies here that no one will be able to find out who's the owner of that address but then I suggested him that the funds were all sent to Binance and he can ask if the exchange to cooperate with him.
19  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bybit expects to exit UK market on: September 27, 2023, 10:00:58 PM
Such policies are really game changers especially if they're favorable to the community but if not, they'll have to see the effect of it and who knows if they will alter that decision later on.
I see this does not bring more benefits in the long run. After all, crypto literally cannot be censored, especially in P2P use.
Well, that's true and cannot be denied. Despite that this is like the space where anonymity and censorship is its utmost feature, with all these matters that's being lowkey removed.

I remember the case of Binance where they were able to serve Chinese users thanks to employee guidance, they actually grew in a country that was against crypto.
Yeah, I remember that and that issued died eventually and seems to be like forgotten forever. This is what regulations they're getting that seems to be strict in actions but we see how the system has a glitch.
20  Other / Off-topic / Re: Google is 25 Today - What has been Your Experience ! on: September 27, 2023, 08:59:37 PM
Definitely Google has been my friend ever since in my school days and it's like a magic and charm when I was searching for academic things back then. Going to the library is quite far in my house and my school was also distant and that's why it was like my go-to library back in the days.
How long was it already, 25? Oh my, I'm getting old.. to scare all of you, we're all getting old. But honestly, this is a good technology that everyone has embraced and been helpful to us. Who has thought that this search engine will grow a lot this time and have become the most sought compan by most employees.

Also, the name 'Google' is way better than 'Alphabet'.
I agree, and I hope that they put it back.
