661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: December 06, 2023, 08:33:25 PM
Let's congratulate the newly formed team, Team Falcons (Dota 2) for winning the 25th year Anniversary of the Pinnacle Cup. They've won $50k for their prize as the champs of this tournament and they've won straight 3-0 during the grand finals against the, The Dudley Boys with mind_control on the roster. That's an interesting match that we've seen there on how this team's potential will be doing and next week, we're going to see them again play for the ESL in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

Who are the fans and bettors here that are optimistic about this team that they might end up with a good placing for that tournament? Since this tournament is also with known good teams and players, they've managed to win and went through all odds through the lower bracket. ATF is so strong and the decision that's been made by his former team Quest was a wrong call for not granting him with a decent contract.

Hello,
What cheap projects do you know that have good potential?

Thank you.
It's hard to say because many of them are undervalued and it's still unknown if someday they're going to be with a decent value. So, for every niche that we have on the crypto market, you can take time and look at each of them, and based on what you think as long as the price are very low, you can have that consideration on how you're going to give them some look.

Above all, what is most important to me is technology, its use case, and the problems it aims to solve. Projects with innovative solutions to real-world problems are precious. You can also research the team members, their expertise, and their development progress. A clear roadmap, transparency, and consistent progress are also good indicators.
I agree with the technology projects and we can include here the AI projects. But not all of them are going to do well, let's just be clear with that some of them are literally good projects but it doesn't mean that they'll have a good future. This is what's clear on this market despite being good.
663  Economy / Economics / Re: Cracking the Code of Saving Money... on: December 06, 2023, 06:56:41 PM
Give yourself a percentage or an exact amount on how much you will save per salary you receive. Actually, it's not the amount that counts but it is the strictness of control that you are implementing to yourself. Regardless of how big or small it will be as long as you're setting side every time you receive money, that's what seems to be the important thing.

You can do that every time you earn money from your business, from your salary or anything that you receive as a gift. That's what you need to do and don't think of where you'll spend them quickly because thinking those are very easy to do so and what you have to do is to mind yourself in saving first and then investing next.
true! The main issue isn't even the amount you are putting saving, consistency matters a lot when it comes to dealing with your saving habit.

You can even decide to be saving a small percentage of your monthly or weekly earnings like 30% and no matter what happens, you know you must save that amount and after you've saved that you can now decide to save the an additional amount in cases when the amount remaining exceeds what you've planned to use it for.

The issue with most people is that they budget a huge percentage of their monthly early as the one they will be saving but at the end of the day, they aren't consistent with their saving because of unplanned demands theat might come along the way.
Yeah, consistency is the key to this practice. When you're too great with small amounts then for sure that you are now able to handle big amounts and you're going to save money no matter what happens. The problem with people that earns a lot that came from bottom earner, the lifestyle is also inflating and instead of saving more is that, they're spending more for their own satisfaction. But that's okay because everyone deserves to feel that type of living when they came from the bottom.

Give yourself a percentage or an exact amount on how much you will save per salary you receive. Saving without a plan is like sailing without a rudder. To what purpose are you storing cash? Money should be dynamic and work for us economically. While saving is important, I think balance is better. What if we invested 20% of our salary? Our money grows and adapts to the economy this way. We're wired for instant gratification, making "saving first, spending later" difficult. Would it change things if we saw saving as self-care? Consider your savings account as a vacation, startup fund, or emergency fund. Doesn't that inspire? Saving should be seen as a strategy for future success and stability, not just a savings account. A modest mindset shift could lead to a healthier financial existence.
I reckon the tip of what I have heard a long time ago is that you're not saving money to save money but you are saving money to invest it to any investment or asset that shall appreciate overtime. What type of investment and asset? We're in a bitcoin forum and that's obvious to say but other than that, it depends to what you know as long as you don't invest into those without prior knowledge.

665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop Saving Your Bitcoin (and other crypto) Addresses In Exchanges And Wallets on: December 05, 2023, 11:32:42 PM
Absolutely agree, Dave. Security first! Always store your crypto in wallets where you control the private keys. Exchanges and saved addresses are risky due to potential closures or changes. Protect your assets, folks. Not your keys, not your coins. Stay safe out there!
Not just that, when you download malware like a typical copypaste malware. It's going to change the saved address that you'll copy if ever you're going to send them some BTC. But with all the points, I agree with all that Dave said about it. Don't store them on exchanges and just use them for what they should be used and mean to. In online wallets, don't be too confident with them because if you don't hold the private keys and you're just using some sort of passwords, you're not safe.

You don't hold the keys, you don't own the Bitcoins there. No one needs to learn an expensive lesson because you're going to lose everything when you're not careful and with all of the days you stay on this great community, you can't blame no one when almost everybody is reminding each and everyone of us to be careful with out funds and how we're storing them.
666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Winning big amount after watching streamer on: December 05, 2023, 10:58:49 PM
That's true, if it's easy to win and the same goes for everybody then all of us will become rich easy. But remember that there's still balance in everything and this is gambling which the house always win. We see people winning and being lucky for this day but we don't know how long their luck will last.
Nothing is easy in gambling because often, we have to use a lot of money first to be able to win, but that doesn't guarantee we can actually win.
I kind of disagree with that, we don't need lots of money to be able to win. We can spend few money and still win, what we're talking about is just winning and it doesn't matter whether it's big or small amount. Well, that's just a tiny detail that I have to disagree but that's true that we can't guarantee to win even with huge money.

In fact, we will only experience more losses if we use a lot of money because we will not be able to control ourselves when using money to gamble.
That's right, the amount that we will be able to lose is going to depend on how much we've got. So, if we're going to spend little then the risk is also little so as the opposite and with how much it is if it grows.

The house is the party that will always win and get the biggest profit, so we should always try to limit the amount of money we use for gambling. Limiting the amount of money means we are also trying to reduce the number of losses because we can prevent gambling for too long and only based on the money we have prepared for gambling. We might be lucky one day, so let's just enjoy the gambling game.
There's no doubt that the house always wins and they're banker in this industry. If it were not for them, there wouldn't be casinos exist anymore because it's a profitable business for them. And that's why we see streamers left and right, promoting casinos that they are affiliated with to get more attention to their new possible customers.
667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think voting for Bitcoin to become a legal tender was the plan? on: December 05, 2023, 10:31:22 PM
Things change.
People change.
Governments change.
I think that even satoshi wouldn't like this situation for Bitcoin that it is being adopted by a country as their legal tender, he might just end up liking it because it's still not going to change the fact that it's being used by commoners like you and me. The good thing there is that it is the government that has adopted it and even they do so, they still don't have control over the network and they'll just simply become users like you and me.

But the mystery here is that, we will never know his true reaction on this one. And everything will all be speculations until the time that we come to the point that he/she might still be alive and exposed to the public but I doubt that it'll happen.
668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Winning big amount after watching streamer on: December 05, 2023, 09:39:15 PM
I wish gambling were that easy, everybody would be a millionaire.
That's true, if it's easy to win and the same goes for everybody then all of us will become rich easy. But remember that there's still balance in everything and this is gambling which the house always win. We see people winning and being lucky for this day but we don't know how long their luck will last.

Newbies in gambling should not be fooled into thinking that gambling is a get rich quick scheme, some have been playing that same slot for a very long time without winning.
I was one of the people that have believed before that gambling is way too easy and it can make everyone rich. And that is because the results that I have seen with those influencers. But I was wrong until I was the one who gambles. So with these shares like OP that we've seen, we just have to be happy that we're seeing people winning and those that have thinking that it's a rich quick thing, forget about it.

Beyond OP big win, I hope that he cashed out, because I've heard stories of how after big wins the gambler goes on to greedily continues to play and loses everything. If he was able to resist the temptation of capitalizing on his luck to continue playing, then that's the best win for him.
I think that he did since he's a very good real life gambler.

This is just like us to have some entertainment before the main event next week and I think the same goes for some EU actions, some little tournaments are there around and we may see some new bloods.

Not really a fan of SEA region but oh well atleast its better than nothing
IMHO, SEA Teams are improving. It's no question that they've been the weakest region but this time, I think that there are a lot of good teams assembled on this region but let's still see.

ok thanks, I'll think about it, sounds really cool. I will probably choose the best days from the ESL tournament with the most exciting confrontations between certain teams. Still, there should be more such wonderful moments in life.
Good luck with that, we're approaching to the first phase of the tournament within less than a week now. That's really exciting to get into actions again and we'd see some improved teams and who knows if some crazy heroes will be used on this tournament and might be swarmed in the pubs.

Did you see that TSM abandoned their tag? They returned to the name Undying. In general, when I saw TSM, every time I remembered their sponsorship from the FTX crypto exchange. This is ingrained in my memory due to the fact that I lost some of my funds there(
I also remember that they've been sponsored by FTX but they don't know a thing about that. What these rosters and team management does is all about the sponsor money that's been placed on them.

Before the ESL KL next week, we've got some actions happening right now in the SEA so this is the EPL World Series SEA version. There are only two teams that are participating on this tournament but still, some tier 2 actions that we're going to see. And currently, it's now on the playoffs with the next bracket and some teams were already eliminated. If someone wants to follow it, you can go ahead[1] and check the matches because this is until December 8, 2023 for the grand finals.

This is just like us to have some entertainment before the main event next week and I think the same goes for some EU actions, some little tournaments are there around and we may see some new bloods.
671  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is not very easy; it took my friend a long time to understand. on: December 05, 2023, 08:51:51 AM
Trading is the most difficult aspect of cryptocurrencies for me to learn. You must first understand about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies before moving on to trading and its techniques, risk management, and how to apply stop losses in trading.
While it's nice to admit about how hard it is, there are people that are making it look easy for the most without their admission that it's truly hard. Even the experienced traders from the other markets say that trading crypto is not that easy at all and the same goes to the typical markets that they've been trading.

All of this is really difficult and will take some time before you get to know them better, and then you will have to wait patiently for a long time before you grasp everything.
Patience is one thing and it's like a gift for most traders that continues their journey in trading. Because not everyone can afford to lose money and wait for the lessons and learn from them. Most of the ones that aspire to be a trader want to learn as soon as possible but they do not know that there's a process behind it and they need to look at those before anything happens to them according to what they believe that shall come.
672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I will invest the money to buy the land in Bitcoin. on: December 05, 2023, 12:24:24 AM
I am a government servant, working in regional land office.  At the end of five years of my working life, I have spent part of the salary I received during these five years for family and saved part for future. I have been saving my money in the bank for more than five years for the purpose of saving for the future and purchasing a land. If I were to mention the amount of money I saved in five years, it would be about 11 thousand dollars if converted to US dollars. My plan was to buy a land with this amount of money but whenever looking for land to buy land my idea completely changes because the lands I like will not give me this amount of money. If I can't buy land in a position, I have no desire to buy land in a common place.

Since I have like 11 thousand dollars right now, I want to invest this amount in Bitcoin instead of keeping it in the bank. I know about investing in bitcoins and I know that there are risks involved, I am investing in the potential to grow money but I want to invest in bitcoins with the understanding that my money may go down due to market volatility. I decided to withdraw the money from the bank at the beginning of the new year and plan to invest the money in bitcoins. Now that I can't buy land, I will definitely hold this investment for a long time so that I get good returns at the end of the long term and I can also accumulate some more money through employment.

At the time I planned it I felt I should have planned it earlier.
Does this mean that you've quit your government position because you've said that "end of five years" with your working life? This is a tough decision if you're going to ask me because when you're comfortable with the job you've got and you're about to quit to do other things then it is necessary to think of it so many times before you do it.

And it's nice to hear that you're able to save money from that job of yours because not everyone is fortunate enough to save money as they work for that long. There can be others that have higher than the amount you've said but it's not a secret when many weren't able to save with their lifetime jobs. For your plan of buying a land, I know how it feels to be when you've got that money and it's gonna be gone once in a blow after buying a land.

Do not regret that you have just moved. What's good for you is that you have made the initiative already and made a move before anything else happens or before you see the market soaring high that you'd think it's too late.
673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: December 04, 2023, 05:55:28 PM
I can't wait for the ESL Kuala Lumpur, despite that there have been other side tournaments that I can watch. I have never watched any of them because most of these tournaments are tier 2 tournaments. Although there are teams that are good to scout from that tier and they can be one of the strong teams in the near future.

I have seen that there's also the Shanghai Masters, I thought that there's a lot of teams participating on this tournament but upon looking at the details I guess that this is the first time to see a Chinese tournament and named 'masters' for this tournament only has got 4 participating teams.

This tournament is going to start in less than 24 hours from now on and I don't understand why there's a tournament like this and named as if it's a major tournament but only few teams that are invited on this one. IG is part of it and I think that they're going to be the ones who's gonna win on this tournament if they become serious and they are going to have the debut of their new roster.

In general, I prefer to play with friends than watch. TI have priority for me, I watch other tournaments extremely rarely, but ESL Kuala Lumpur I will definitely watch a couple of games, but I will choose only the most interesting ones.
Go and watch it with your friends, it's gonna be in a week so that's a thrilling experience and entertainment again from the best teams in the region that have qualified. Well, we're the same that when I think some matches aren't interesting for me, I wouldn't even think twice to watch it and just leave it there.

There are other teams that are interesting to watch and we've got the same terms and also we can't watch all of them at the same time because most of the matches during the early stage are being played on at the same time.

And I won’t watch Shanghai Masters, all I can do is wish you a pleasant viewing  Smiley
Anyway, Shanghai Masters is done and the champion is Invictus Gaming just like what I've said.
674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I could have won bigger. on: December 04, 2023, 05:34:13 PM
Congratulations to you as you're lucky with that bet of yours and that can be the return of fate to you for being good. Despite that you need the money for your own bets, you still allowed and lent that to your friend without having a second thought.

Then, I would have win bigger money.
Anyway, with this what you have said. Forget about these regrets about having won a bigger amount because it's not always the case. It could even be the opposite based on the fate that you have for that bet of yours. It's always like this when someone wins and not yet contented with what you've won. And it's going to be a different story when you have lost because you'd probably thank that friend of yours for borrowing and not returning it as expected.
675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How discipline are you in managing your bankroll? on: December 04, 2023, 04:54:36 PM
If you want an honest response, I would say that if I scale my bankroll management from 1-10, I would probably score myself around 3 at best, I'm unstoppable when I start gambling so I put myself at the lower number and the reason why I'm at 3 is because I'm still aware and at the same time know how much money I would put in my gambling fund so even if I go overboard, there's still that sort of a stop gap for my stupidity which inevitably happens.
You know what, it's not about the ranking or rate you give yourself on how good or bad you are in managing your bankroll. It's clear that most of us are struggling with our own ways of management either in bankroll gambling or anything that requires financing. But what's important is how well aware we are in dealing with these things. IF we know that we're not good on it then that's so much better than someone who rates himself with a bias and lies of 10 out of 10.

I don't hope to improve my discipline in gambling because I feel some sort of pain whenever I try and restrict myself in gambling, what I'm doing though isn't as harmful as you think because it's somewhat consistently scheduled for about once a month so I'm not going broke when I gamble.
There's always room for improvement and even if you're thinking like that, you still need to hope for the best because you're thinking about yourself and it should be all for your good. No matter how hard it is for you, you still have to see that you can improve that discipline.
676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Include Or Always Include Gambling In Your New Year's Resolution on: December 04, 2023, 04:18:05 PM
Not anymore, I knew myself all of these times and there's no need for me to include in my new Year resolution. I'm all good and gambles whenever I want and there's no need to make myself feel guilty about it. I'm happy and not that guilty at all that I am a gambler unlike the others that have been affecting their lives with gambling.

Maybe one thing is about wishing about good luck and winning most of the bets that I'll cast because if not, there's actually no need for me to do so. While for those that have been dealing with such huge problem in gambling, you have to just not include that in your new year's resolution but also seek some professional help because putting that into your resolution could be forgotten by you.

And while you are trying to stick yourself into some of these resolutions, it won't be enough and effective for some reasons. That's why if you are eager to follow your resolution, go seek professional help too and counsellors.
677  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you deal with the exponential appreciation of Bitcoin? (for the oldest on on: December 04, 2023, 03:33:24 PM
What you have to consider if there's some sort of feeling involved in the purchase is about understanding that worthy assets have been appreciating over time. When someone purchased Bitcoin long time ago at a lower price, then they deserve the profit that they're getting for being one of the earliest folks that have trusted and believed Bitcoin when the whole world doubted it.

While the happiness is there for the older ones that have bought it cheaply. And for those new buyers and investors that have seen the charts and history, they don't have to feel regret when it was cheaper before. Because you have to think of it that for every season, there is a reason. And it's not that late at all, like what you've said that it can still be cheaper this time when in the future it's going to be more expensive.

That's the cycle that we're seeing for those new investors and all you need to do is to consider your status, whether you're going to keep on believing and holding. Or you're going to feel regret and dwell in the past instead of moving forward.
678  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CZ officially bids goodbye to Binance. Will Binance Crash or still stand Strong? on: December 04, 2023, 02:59:35 PM
My answer to the question as you ask is that I don't care because in Exchange Binance I don't save funds and funds available there just for trade needs.
You don't need to be vulgar with that answer because you don't hold your funds there and so do I, who keeps their funds there because if someone keeps his/her funds there, they're at risk.
I think that's my non-joking answer to describe my situation regarding the problems that befell the Binance exchange and other exchanges.
Because it is clear functionally that the exchange is not a place to store funds but its function is to trade.
If Binance has problems, there are still other exchanges that can be used for trading. Just select...
I agree. Even in the countries where it's banned or where it is going to be restricted soon. We've got a lot of exchanges that we can select.

There are local exchanges that are way terrible than Binance and that's why even the locals, they use Binance instead of their very own local exchange.
The local exchange that I use for trading meets the standards I want even though Binance Exchange is known to be good according to most of its users.
As long as you find the local exchange that you are satisfied using with, that's good. Because there are local exchanges that are said to be bad and not really the best in shape. But do the users have choice with that? I don't think so, anyway as long as you can use it for its purpose for trading then there's no problem at all.

Because as you've said, that's the main function of exchanges and that's to use them as-is and not to store funds. So as long as there's the function that you're able to buy and sell and you know that you shouldn't hold there for long then that means that you're good even with the local exchanges compared to Binance.
679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: December 04, 2023, 02:45:07 PM
1) Make your research about web3 betting platforms + read the reviews of this platform in order to not get scammed.
It's part of being responsible to be researchful about the casinos or platforms that we're going to jive in.

2) Always make sure to bet the sum of money that you are not afraid to lose.
This is the typical tip that we tell to the other gamblers. But we don't know how it's going to help them when they're not reading or hearing from us. Most of them just gamble because they think that they're fine and doing good and no matter what happens, they're still responsible based on their assessment but little did they know, they're already irresponsible because they're easily triggered and they cannot control themselves.

With that, staying responsible is also a challenge for most when they don't see themselves becoming responsible anymore due to the fact that they're out of their control and things like negative results are taken positively which shouldn't be. Because if so, someone has to go back from that believe that even losing when it seems abnormal, is just looking for some reasons to keep going.
680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slot games are a waste of time and money (most of the time) on: December 04, 2023, 01:58:14 PM
In this case, indeed, the best and wisest thing is to stop it. Sometimes, gambling really makes us full of joy because we gamble just for fun. But, not always, because, sometimes, the lure or temptation of money smells very sweet.
When we're having much fun we forget that we've been losing a lot. I think it depends on how you take that loss if that seems to be fine and you're enjoying the game. Think of the losses as your payment for the entertainment that you've taken from slots or any game. But we don't want to be losers at most times and even we're enjoying, it's no fun to keep on losing.

So without realizing it, we have lost a lot of money in slots. Indeed, there is no doubt that slots are quite dangerous, especially for those of us who cannot really control ourselves and understand the risks, sometimes we chase results to get $100, and we feel incredibly happy. Meanwhile, in fact, it turns out that if we add it up, we have already spent $1000 on slots.
Those who have no control over themselves won't notice that they're losing a lot so they need to check themselves before continuing. Because they will keep on losing money as the paced of this game is very quick to the point that you're fine to lose money because all you think about is having fun. And if you're okay with that, you gotta have a lot of money and it's not going to affect you a lot when you're having that position when you gamble and losing a lot.

But for normal folks like me and you, we don't need to realize that we've been losing even if we're having fun. Because those that are in control will already see that we've been losing a lot of money and we can't take to have that on a continuous mode especially if there's a big money involved.
