You are all saying the wrong thing! For it to be a train we must chant in a tone of disbelieve, like last time. I will start:

i laugh at you people.. spending months thinking that something was going to happen. and then when it doesnt.. acting like you knew it wouldnt..

my post history shows that i have been telling people about that its 99% fud and no reason to panic.. can you all say th same about your own post history.

The simple explanation is the market had adjusted to the possibility of China locking out bitcoin well before the 15th. When there is public information about some big event in the future it will always be priced in well before the date. Anyone who decides to trade such news on the day of is an absolute fish and should stop trading.

That is really why I am having the "I feel no different" feeling. If it is confirmed that 15th April is just another normal day, the market might feel the need to re-adjust.

10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cant bitcoin become broken when the blockchain gets too big? on: March 15, 2014, 09:15:33 PM
If the bitcoin community decided to send transactions at the maximum rate and all miners were to produce 1MB blocks, at 1 block every 10 minutes 50.6GB (51840MB) will be added to the blockchain per year. It will take 20.2 years to add 1 terabyte to the blockchain.

A 3TB drive commercially available today will be able to store the blockchain of a bitcoin on steroid for more than 60 years.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I bought 4 mother boards with 4 gpus to it help please!! help on: March 15, 2014, 09:52:20 AM
Hi guys

my last question was bit unclear so i tried to post here again.

I'm a newbie here for mining..

i bought hardwares for the rig -

4 moherboards                            <----- Which ones? Do they have enough PCI slots?
5 gpus for each motherboard        <----- Which ones? do you know the power consumption when mining? I have an 80+ Gold 1250W PSU, and that was not enough to power 4 x 7970s
power supply                               <----- What is the power rating? You will need enough power for 5 GPUs.
memory sticks
ssd                                             <----- USB drives would be cheaper, I run mine on 8GB drives
optical drive
cpu
rig case                                       <----- Normal PC cases not ideal for airflow

*** You also need PCI raiser cables. These are cables that connects to a PCI express slot on one end and the graphics card on the other end. They allow you to lift the cards further away from the MB and from each other. They look like this:

Now the problem is i'm new to this rig building and putting it to work.
I tried to assemble all hardware to build a rig.

but there are some questions i ran into.

1. Do each of the rig needs to have monitor connected to it ? if no how do i install the mining software and wallet to each rig ? without monitor the rig might sleep.

--->No, you don't need a monitor. When I installed the OS on my rigs, I attached a monitor, keyboard and mouse to one rig, installed the OS and software, then cloned the harddrive (USB drives in my case) to the other rigs. After that there is no need for monitors. I used Linux Mint 13, but I am sure there are mining specific ones around now. I would recommend using Linux, at the very least it saves you to licensing headache from Windows.

2. if i can use only one monitor for all 5 rigs so how do i do it ? please little stress on this please..
--->If you run Linux, I can tell you what command lines to use.

3. do i need to have mining software and wallet installed in each rig ? or do i need to make different mining account for each rig ?
--->You need mining software on each rig. I recommend CGMiner. It is best not to have any wallets on the mining machines, for security.

4. if i don'T need to make separate mining account to each rig so how do i connect each rig to my one mining account?
--->Same pool settings for all rig. But, most pools allow you to have multiple workers for your account. I think it would be better to have 1 worker for each rig, so you can see their performance on the pool individually.

please help me with your explanations it will help me to understand how to assemble the rig and install it and connect it and use it as workers.

regards.

Not saying whether this is fund-raising is legitimate or not, but

hong kong is not a poor country

Hong Kong is not a country(yet), but it is good to know that people think Hong Kong already is.

14  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Q2- Mining These Days COST YOU More than it GIVES on: January 23, 2014, 11:25:35 PM
I mine bitcoin with my ASIC and I mine on profit following scrypt pool for bitcoin with my GPUs.

I pay roughly 12p per kWh. I assume BTC1 is worth £520 for the calculations below.

My ASIC is using 300W so 7.2kWh a day, that's £0.864. It makes BTC0.016 a day, which is worth £8.32. My net profit in £ is therefore £7.46, or BTC0.014. In fiat terms it has broken even, but for the same money back when I placed my pre-order I should have bought BTC instead.

My GPUs are using ~2500W so 60kWh a day, that's £7.20. I make on average BTC0.06 a day, which is worth £31.2. My net profit in £ is therefore £24, or BTC0.0461.

My GPUs have broken even long ago, but if I were to have to start paying it back all over again it would take less than 5 months from their brand new cost, which was £3300. These days you can probably pay £2000 the whole lot, which puts the break even time for someone who were to buy it off me today at less than 3 months.

Also, I don't need heating, and my neighbors love me for my warm walls. Roll Eyes The downside is everything you don't keep in the fridge goes off super fast.
15  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Storage Crate Issues?? on: January 22, 2014, 12:52:35 AM
Use nylon strings to suspend your cards. In the front the string can go around the adapter plate. In the back the string can thread through the hole in the corner of the PCB. Tie the strings to either side of the crate.

Also, duct tape can do anything.

20  Economy / Economics / Re: The values of virtual currencies on: January 03, 2014, 11:20:35 PM
Bitcoin achieves real value by being used for buying and selling real goods and services. Major alt-coins achieve value by promising to being successful as bitcoin alternatives, e.g. fail-safe for things like hard forks, algorithm compromise, etc, to a lesser extend also achieve value by being used in real life transactions. Junk coins achieves value solely by promising to be next being pumped and dumped.

Most junk coins have to be bought with bitcoin.

I am mining altcoins to sell for bitcoin. People are free to choose their currency. I only believe in bitcoin and litecoin, so whenever the other coins get too valuable, I mine them so that I can short them and long bitcoin. When I mine litecoin I hodl!
