well u dont need to pay the autor a fee,
writing --give-author 0
these days u dont see much p2pool nodes paying a fee to author, but thats up to u
are u planning to use the node only for urself or u want others connect to it also?
using it only for urself u dont need set a fee.however if u want to set one write
-f 1 (means u get 1 %)
so it would be like this
python run_p2pool.py -a xxxx --give-author 0.5 -f 1 xxxx xxxx

ok i see it's downloading blocks now is 240726. after that what i have to do?
did u make a bitcoin.conf in ./bitcoin containing rpcuser and rpcpassword? if so just start the p2pool again with the command u posted earlyer
|
|
|
well ur at 240258 blocks an u need 294529
means u got roughly 50000 to go
yeah it is downloading blocks u just have to wait a lil
u can check the info again and it should be more blocks then before
|
|
|
we cant help u if u dont tell us how ur setup is e.g
what are u trying to do
where are u trying this (1 computer or 2 what operating system)
also keep in mind downloading the blockchain will take some time(last time i did it was like 24 hours)

i asume u installed bitcoind without any fancy stuff,so u should have started it like this
~/bitcoin/src/bitcoind
now just do
~/bitcoin/src/bitcoind getmininginfo
and it should show u the stats like this
{ "blocks" : 294529, "currentblocksize" : 0, "currentblocktx" : 0, "difficulty" : 6119726089.12814713, "errors" : "", "generate" : false, "genproclimit" : -1, "hashespersec" : 0, "pooledtx" : 667, "testnet" : false }
as u can see we are at 294529 blocks at the moment
if ur bitcoind shows this it finished downloading
|
|
|
are u sure bitcoind finished downloading the blockchain? u could check that with "getmininginfo" for example and look how many blocks it has

added a p2pool node http://5.45.108.127u can get to it if u click Hawaiicoin stats worker port is 7743 and as usual ur hawaiicoin address as worker name and anything u like as password now throw some hashes at it so we can see it works pool is confirmed working, found a block just needs 6 confirmations yet @ hawaiicoin it seems the wallet has some issues/doesnt show networkhash/difficulty all time at 4. either it doesnt show right stats or something is fucked with difficulty adjustment

I am running Windows. Is is not bitcoin, it is a different coin.
Here is my target for the shortcut:
C:\Users\Joel\Downloads\p2pool_win32_11.4\p2pool_win32_11.4\run_p2pool.exe --net litecoin 1 x --bitcoind-rpc-port 53385
u dont need to download bitcoin client as p2pool refers to all coins with bitcoind why u using --net litecoin? ur coin is kachingcoin ur rpcport should be 53384 as 53385 is the port for the coin as stated in the source code ~/kachingpool/run_p2pool.py --net kachingcoin --bitcoind-rpc-port 53384 blah blub provement: http://5.45.108.127:3384
